Abstract

Penelitian mengenai aplikasi rumput laut (G. verrucosa) dan tiram (C. cucculata) sebagai biofilter dalam pengolahan limbah tambak udang vaname super intensif telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektifitas rumput laut (G. verrucosa) dan tiram (C. cucculata) dalam mereduksi konsentrasi nutrient dan padatan tersuspensi limbah tambak udang vaname super intensif. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam skala laboratorium dimana konsentrasi nutrient dan partikel tersuspensi limbah dianalisis berdasarkan dua faktor yakni biofilter dan waktu pemaparan limbah dalam media biofilter. Regenerasi nutrient dan ekskresi oleh tiram serta rendahnya biomassa rumput laut (G. verrucosa) menyebabkan kedua jenis biofilter yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini belum memberikan kontribusi yang nyata terhadap penurunan konsentrasi nutrient dan partikel tersuspensi limbah. Sebaliknya, tiram menyebabkan tingginya konsentrasi TAN dalam limbah. Waktu pemaparan limbah dalam wadah biofilter memberikan pengaruh yang nyata terhadap konsentrasi nutrient dan partikel tersuspensi; namun demikian konsentrasi nutrient dan partikel tersuspensi selama pemaparan limbah dalam wadah biofilter tidak berkurang. Oleh karena itu, penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai biomassa rumput laut (G. verrucosa)  dan tiram (C. cucculata) yang optimum  serta lama waktu pemaparan limbah perlu dilakukan sehingga effektifitas kedua jenis biofilter dalam mereduksi konsentrasi nutrient dan partikel tersuspensi dapat ditingkatkan.

Abstract

Peningkatan urbanisasi yang terjadi di lahan terbuka Makassar di kota telah menjadi semakin sempit karena masyarakat lebih cenderung untuk membangun tempat penampungan siap huni oleh pendatang baru ke kota Makassar daerah begitu kosong untuk pembuangan sampah menjadi kurang. Selain itu, peningkatan volume penduduk juga meningkatkan volume sampah. Dengan masalah sampah yang sulit diatasi di kota pemerintah kota Makassar menciptakan sebuah program yang MTR (Makassar TIDAK Rantasa). Jenis tulisan yang digunakan dalam penulisan ilmiah adalah penelitian kepustakaan yang menggunakan analisis deskriptif dalam analisis data. Konsep hari sampah adil bahwa kegiatan ini diselenggarakan setiap tahun oleh kota Makassar, dengan kerjasama semua pihak, pemerintah, lembaga penegak hukum, lembaga negara / swasta, pelajar, masyarakat, pemulung, anak jalanan, dan penyanyi. Ada dua rangkaian acara yang dimulai dengan pembukaan berjalan sambil memungut sampah dan juga balapan beberapa item lomba kebersihan seperti lorong-lorong, sedangkan penutupan acara ini ditandai dengan penghargaan dan hadiah kepada para pemenang setiap perlombaan. Abstract

Ajatappareng is the  federation of five kingdoms of Sidenreng, Suppa, Rappang, Sawitto and Alitta, This alliance was formed on the  fifteenth century AD. This Ajatappareng alliance was located on the west coastal area of South Sulawes region. The aim of this research was to tract the archaeological evidence of artefact findings at Ajatappareng Region in South Sulawesi Province. First by using the survey and inteview method and then continued by excavation at some sites. This is to explain the eksistensi of a region that revealed in a lontara manuscript. Data from the Survey and test-pit excavation on the site were then collected to be analyzed on the relative dating of the manuscript data and artifact that was found. This research result showed that archaeological value was very important in which we found many artefact and features such as ancient mosque, ancient grave, ground fortification, ancient well, arrow point, numismatics finds, dakon stone, mortar, ceramic and pottery.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to trace the archeological remain of Arung Pattapulo (The Fourty Kings) and the early time of Nepo Kingdom, until the reign of La Bongo as the first King Of Nepo Kingdom. The early guidance in tracing of the source of the historical trail was from Lontara manuscript, then field survey was conducted to excavate the artefact burried. Besides, we also conducted collective society data recording memory (tutur tradition) by interviewing community leader whom related to Arung Pattapulo and the early time of Nepo Kingdom until the reign of La Bongo King. The result was to get the overview of leadership transformation process, the governance system of Nepo Kingdom, the transformation of settlement and agriculture along with the relation of outside community.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the demotivating factors of the learners in EFL learning at one madrasah tsanawiah in Jambi City. Particularly, this study was to find out the particular factors that demotivate madrasah tsanawiah students’ during the learning process. Many studies have mainly focused on teachers’ motivation or students’ motivation and teachers’ motivation rather than student demotivation in English as a foreign language (EFL) learning context, whereas lack of data has been found on the factors that cause student demotivation in Indonesian EFL learning contexts at secondary school level. The participants were a purposive sample of English students who currently studied at a madrasah . The study was designed as a qualitative case study and involved a demographic questioner and face-to-face interviews for data collection. The result revealed that peer influences were as the main demotivation for the students. Other demotivators for EFL students in this research included school condition such as lack of resources and facilities. Suggestions for further research also are discussed.

Abstract

 Carotenoids, besides as a natural pigment, may have vital roles in the growth of crustacean. The aim of this study was to clarify the influence of combined carotenoids given since pre-maturation stage on the growth performances, pigmentation and biochemical composition of the whole body of pond-reared tiger shrimp, Penaeus monodon. Two experimental diets were supplemented with or without carotenoid mixture consisting of astaxanthin, canthaxanthin and other carotenoids contained in Spirulina. The carotenoid mixture was supplemented in the commercial diet normally used as a starter feed for tiger shrimp, re-pelleted and fed to tiger shrimp with an initial body weight of 31.7±1.3 g. Shrimp were stocked in four 1,000 m2 concrete ponds with a density of 1 shrimp/m2 and fed until the shrimp reached maturation stage (broodstock size). Variables observed were growth performances and pigmentation properties during the pre-maturation stage and total carotenoid content in several tissues of the female broodstock after being fed with the diets until maturation stage. After 16 weeks, shrimp fed with carotenoid-enriched diet (PC) diet produced significantly (P<0.05) higher biomass than the diet without the enrichment (PO). The color of raw shrimp fed with PC diet was darker with greenish-brown compared to shrimp fed PO diet which was greenish blue. The visual appearances of 3-min steamed shrimp produced the color of red-orange for shrimp fed carotenoid compared to orange-yellow for control PO. The total carotenoid content in the whole body of shrimp fed PC diet were significantly (P<0.05) enhanced compared to control PO diet which was 42.8 ±5.8 and 55.8± 5.1 µg/g for PO and PC diet, respectively. Supplemental carotenoid in the pre-maturation diet increased the biomass production from 23.1±1.9 kg to 30.2 ±0.1 kg and enhanced the color of the shrimp which was in line with carotenoid content in the whole body of pond-reared tiger shrimp.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendapatkan informasi tentang kebutuhan optimum kadar protein dan lemak pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan komposisi badan ikan kerapu macan ukuran konsumsi. Sembilan pakan uji dibuat dalam bentuk moist pelet dengan tiga dosis protein (46%, 49%, dan 52%) dan tiga dosis lemak (9%, 11%, dan 13%). Ikan uji dipelihara dalam 27 keramba jaring apung ukuran 1 m x 1 m x 2 m selama 140 hari, diberi pakan uji secara satiasi dua kali sehari dan diset dalam rancangan acak kelompok pola faktorial berdasarkan kelompok ukuran bobot awal ikan yaitu (i) 122,0±4,2 g; (ii) 144,0±7,1 g; dan (iii) 172,9±10,5 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa laju pertumbuhan spesifik dan sintasan ikan relatif sama (>0,05) di antara perlakuan. Efisiensi pakan cenderung meningkat dengan meningkatnya kadar protein dan lemak pakan. Tingkat efisiensi pemanfaatan protein cenderung menurun dengan meningkatnya kadar protein pakan, tetapi meningkat dengan meningkatnya kadar lemak pakan. Hasil analisis proksimat badan ikan menunjukkan bahwa kadar bahan kering dan lemak ikan relatif tidak dipengaruhi (P>0,05) oleh peningkatan kadar protein pakan, namun kadar bahan kering dan lemak ikan tersebut sedikit naik dengan meningkatnya kadar lemak pakan. Kadar protein dan abu ikan relatif tidak dipengaruhi oleh perubahan kadar protein dan lemak pakan. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini tampak bahwa pakan dengan kadar protein 49% dan lemak sekitar 11% mampu memberikan pertumbuhan dan komposisi badan ikan kerapu macan yang baik.This experiment was conducted to investigate the optimum dietary protein and lipid level for growth and body composition of tiger grouper. Nine dietary experiments were formulated to moist pellet contain three levels of protein (46%, 49%, and 52%) and three levels of lipid (9%, 11%, and 13%). The fish were fed twice daily to satiation for 140 days in twenty seven net cages of 1 m x 1 m x 2 m, were set up factorial randomized block design based on fish size group i.e. (i) 122.0±4.2 g, (ii) 144.0±7.1 g, and (iii) 172.9±10.5 g. The results shown that specific growth rate and survival rate were not significant different (P>0.05) for all treatments. Feed efficiency increased when protein and lipid content increased. Protein efficiency decreased when protein diets increased and increased when lipid diets increased. No interaction occurred between protein and lipid content to all observable biological variables. Dry matter and lipid content of test fish were not affected by protein diets increase but by lipid diet content. Protein and ash of test fish were not affected by either protein or lipid contained in diet. To assure high growth rates and high quality of fish product, it is suggested to feed tiger grouper with diet containing 49% protein and 11% lipid.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui peran ikan liar yang hidup di sekitar keramba jaring apung dalam meminimalisir buangan nutrien yang berasal dari kegiatan budidaya melalui pendekatan kecernaan ikan. Ikan sersan mayor Abudefduf vaigiensis dan capungan Sphaeramia orbicular yang dominan di keramba jaring apung ditangkap dan dipelihara selama dua bulan dan diberi pakan ikan kerapu komersial. Apparent Digestibility Coefficient (ADC) kemudian dihitung menggunakan metode tidak langsung dengan cara mencampurkan indikator khromium oksida (Cr2O3) ke dalam pakan. ADC ikan sersan mayor untuk N, P dan bahan kering berturut-turut sebesar 12,88%; 15,47%; dan 66,67%. Selanjutnya jumlah N dan P yang tersimpan dalam karkas ikan sebesar 19,90% dan 12,76%. Ikan sersan mayor dengan FCR 3,0 melepaskan N dan P ke perairan sebanyak 104,78 dan 42,66 gram setiap penambahan 1 kg bobot badan. Ikan capungan, dengan ADC terhadap N, P dan bahan kering pakan sebesar 12,52%; 59,07%; dan 62,15% menahan 16,76% N dan 11,71% P dalam karkasnya. Dengan FCR 5,0, ikan capungan mengeksresikan N sebanyak 181,46 gram dan 71,96 gram P ke perairan ketika terjadi peningkatan biomassa 1 kg. Ikan liar yang hidup di sekitar keramba jaring apung di Teluk Awerange dapat meminimalisir buangan limbah dari keramba jaring apung sebesar 10% – 20%.   The study was aimed to point out the role of wild fishes associated with floating net cage in minimizing nutrient loading from fish farming through digestibility approach. Abudefduf vaigiensis and Sphaeramia orbicular as the dominant species around sea cage were caught and fed ad satiation with commercial grouper food for 2 months period. Apparent Digestibility Coefficient (ADC) was then calculated using indirect method by mixing indicator chromium oxide (Cr2O3) with fish food. ADC of A. vaigiensis for nitrogen (N), phosphate (P) and dry matter were 12.88%, 51.47%, and 66.67 % respectively. Moreover, N and P retained from fish carcass were 19.90% and 12.76%. Furthermore, these fishes with FCR of 3.0 release N and P to sea water as much as 104.78 gram and 42.66 g respectively when biomass increase to 1 kg. For Sphaeramia orbicularis, ADC for N, P and dry matter were 12.52%, 59.07%, and 62.15% respectively and retained 16.76% N and 11.71% P in their carcass. Moreover, with FCR of 5.0, these fishes excreted 181.46 gram of N and 71.96 gram of P into the environment when the biomass increases to 1 kg. Wild fishes associated with sea cage in Awarange bay have the potential of minimize released nutrient between 10%–20%.

Abstract

Substitusi tepung ikan dengan tepung silase usus ayam dalam pakan telah dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi respon pakan terhadap keragaan biologi ikan kerapu macan, Epinephelus fuscoguttatus. Ikan uji diberi pakan yang mengandung tepung silase usus ayam pada level 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, dan 20% sebagai pengganti tepung ikan dan dibuat dalam bentuk pelet basah. Pakan diberikan secara at satiation dua kali sehari selama masa pemeliharaan 20 minggu di keramba jaring apung berukuran 1 x 1 x 2 m. Penggantian tepung ikan dengan tepung silase usus ayam sampai 20% atau setara dengan 39% protein tepung ikan tidak berpengaruh nyata bila dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol terhadap keragaan biologi ikan kerapu. Diduga tepung silase usus ayam cukup memadai sebagai pengganti tepung ikan dengan kadar lebih dari 20% dalam pakan pembesaran ikan kerapu macan jika asam amino methionine dan lysine ditambahkan ke dalam pakan.Feeding experiment was conducted to evaluate the effects of replacing fishmeal with poultry offal silage meal (POSM) in diet on biological performance of tiger grouper. Dietary inclusion level of PSOM at 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% substitution of fish meal were compared with the fish meal based control diet (0% PSOM). Fish were fed diets (moist pellet) at satiation two times daily for 20 weeks rearing at a floating net cage of 1 x 1 x 2 m. The result showed that replacement of fish meal with POSM up to 20% or equivalent to 39% fish meal protein were not significantly different (P>0.05) compared with control diet on all of the biological performance of tiger grouper. From the result, we expected that POSM is suitable as a partial replacement of fish meal more then 20% in tiger grouper diet if methionine and lysine are added.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi performansi rumput laut dari bibit berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan di perairan Desa Tambeanga, Konawe Selatan. Budidaya rumput laut menggunakan metode tali bentangan sepanjang 50 m. Waktu penelitian terdiri atas tiga siklus yang menggunakan rumput laut dari empat sumber yang berbeda, yaitu: Sirica (Seaweed Improvementfrom Coastal Aquaculture) 1, Sirica 2, lokal 1, dan lokal 2. Parameter yang diamati selama penelitian adalah pertumbuhan, kandungan alginat, kandungan keraginan, dan kandungan kadar air rumput laut serta kualitas perairan. Hasil penelitian selama tiga siklus pemeliharaan menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan, produksi, kandungan alginat, dan karagenan tertinggi pada bibit rumput laut Sirica 1. Khusus untuk laju pertumbuhan harian jenis bibit Sirica 1 tertinggi pada siklus ketiga dengan nilai 6,54% dan untuk produksi tertinggi pada siklus kedua sebesar 20.865 ton/ha. Pertumbuhan dan produksi terendah terjadi pada jenis bibit lokal 2 dengan laju pertumbuhan harian 2,27% dan produksi 6.840 ton/ha yang terjadi pada siklus ketiga. Kandungan alginat juga tertinggi pada bibit Sirica 1= 600,6 g/cm2 dan terendah pada jenis bibit lokal 2= 446,1 g/cm2 begitu pula kandungan keraginan masih tertinggi pada jenis bibit rumput laut Sirica 1= 54,4% dan terendah pada jenis bibit lokal 2= 38,4%. Sedangkan kandungan kadar air untuk bibit rumput laut yang dipanen pada umur 30 hari berkisar 20%-30%. Disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan bibit rumput laut Sirica memberikan performa yang lebih baik dibandingkan bibit lokal.This study aims to evaluate the performance of seaweed Kappaphycus alavarezii cultured from different seed sources. This studywas conducted in Tambeanga Village, South Konawe. The seaweeds were cultured by using long-line method. The seaweed was cultured in three culture cyclesusing seeds from different sources, namely Sirica (Seaweed Improvementfrom Coastal Aquaculture) 1, Sirica 2, Local 1, and Local 2. The parameters measured during this study were seaweed growth rate, production alginate, carrageenan, and water contents as well as water quality. The results indicated that the highest growth rate, production, alginate, and carrageenan contents were shown by Sirica 1. This Sirica 1 gave the highest daily growth rate (6.54%) at the cycle 3 the highest production (20,865 tonnes/ha at the cycle 2. In turn, the lowest growth rate and production were obtained on seaweed local 2 with the daily growth rate and production of 2.27% and 6,840 tonnes/ha, respectively at the cycle 3. The highest alginate content (600.6 g/cm2) was also exhibited by Sirica 1and the lowest of that (446.1 g/cm2) was local 2.during the study was observed on, which was 600.6 g/cm2; while the lowest was measured on Local 2=466.1 gr/cm2. The similar result on the carrageenancontent (54.4%) was also obtained on Sirica 1 and the lowest of that (38.4%)was observed on Local 2. The water content found on the seed cultured during 30 days of rearing period were ranged from 20%-30%. Overall, seaweed cultivation used seed Sirica 1 showed the better.
