Abstract

Experiment have been carried out to evaluate, pressure drops and flow patterns, at adiabatic condition, in horizontal two phase flow of air-water across a horizontal in-line 5x20 finned tube bundles with pitch-to-diameter ratio (P/D) of 1.28 and findimension of 1 mm thick and 1.2 mm width. The experimental results showed that the two-phase pressure drop increase were linear with increase of void fraction up to the value for void fraction (α) = 0.2 At α > 0.2 the trend  of pressure drops was not equal as before but the increment was still linear. The observed flow patterns were:bubble fllow and stratifield flow.

Abstract

Additing the  lubricant with a kind of oil treatment often occur at mechanical workshop for automotive. Mechanics assume this idea to spare the requiring fuel. To test the idea, we arrange an experiment which using a car Jimmi CJ 80 which the fuel tank of the car had modified. This tank can show volume of bensin which had used by the car. The experiment have two kind of idea. The first, the car use mesran super SAE 20 W 50. And the second, the car use the mixing of oil treatment and mesran super SAE 20 W 50 lubricant. This experiment arrange in 24 sample for the first idea and also 24 sample for the second idea. Resume of this research are the first experiment has 2440,75 second average of operation time and the other 244,75 second, which mean the experiment had only 0,04 second difference of operation time. Acording to the experiment, we can say there is no influence of the mixing lubricant and oil treatment in fuel saving.

Abstract

The Gambier drying system of solar dryer has been studied. Solar Energy represent the source of energy, which is available in nature, unpollutive, free of charge and also continue all day long. The research Gambier drying was main problems. The Gambier drying has been conducted after cropping boiling and extortion of rubber of Gambier. The equipment absorber of zinc materials has solar radiation collector. It was used to removing heat into air emitting a stream of in it. This high temperature air has been flow through dryer room. Scheme of this appliance exploited situation of environment that is a designed house as solar dryer system. Result of research obtained air temperature in dryer room (T= 60oC,Tmean= 56,56oC) with cloudy weather condition. Drying area could been lessen by drying vertically. Distribution temperatures in dryer room earn uniform and could dry Gambier simultaneously. Temperature mean in every rack enough flatten except lowermost rack such as T1mean= 40,64oC, T2mean = 39,79oC, T3mean = 39,21oC, T4mean = 36,61oC, at cloudy weather condition

Abstract

To produce copra coconut farmers during this drying of fresh coconut in a conventional manner, ie with the sun heating the ground and using a furnace with direct heating fuel from wood or coconut shells. Constraints of the two processes produced copra contaminated with dust and microbe are moldy, temperature / heating temperature can not be determined with certainty. The purpose of this research is to develop a model of mechanical copra dryer type tray dryer and conduct the technical evaluation, analyze the quality of copra is dried with dryer type tray dryer. The results of the technical evaluation of equipment performance earned an average temperature of the drying chamber is 65 0C, the time required for drying the coconut meat with the initial water content of 53.18% to copra with moisture content is 6.84% for 14 hours, and average equipment capacity average to dry the copra is 1.06 kg / hour. From the results of technical analysis on the performance of copra dryers to materials obtained drying rate of 1.0 kg / hour. The energy required to heat the drying air of 2717.08 kJ / h, the energy to evaporate water materials for 2346.20 kJ / hour, the energy generated by the fuel is 12,124 kJ / hour. Gained 22.41% heating efficiency, evaporation efficiency of 86.28%, 19.33% and drying efficiency. From the analysis carried out found that the quality of copra produced quality white colored, clean, and smelled delicious. While the physical form thick and flush with water content ranging between 6-7%.

Abstract

This paper discusses the use of alternator cars into home electricity. This paper aims to overcome the energy crisis by reducing dependence on fossil energy sources by utilizing alternative energy sources or by developing technology in the form of alternator modifications, and also from this paper we can find out the optimum conditions of rotation and generating electricity. The workings of this alternator modification tool so as to produce electrical power that is using a motor as a drive connected to the alternator produced mechanical energy converted into electrical energy and from this alternator a voltage of 12 volts comes out and goes into travo to increase the voltage to 220 Volts. From the results of the testing of this final project, the effect of rotation on the production of electrical energy coming out on this alternator modification tool is if the rotation produced is high then the power output is also good and if the rotation is slowed the power coming out will also be small. The optimum condition of this test is at 1600rpm. Abstract

Sanding work is a stage that is carried out before entering the finishing process to remove defects and smooth the surface of the object. The main purpose of making sanding machines with this mechanical belt system is to help and simplify the sanding process. The method for making sanding machines with mechanical belt systems is: needs analysis, problem analysis and specifications, problem statements, concept design, technical analysis, work drawing and tool testing. The results of the design of the sanding machine with a mechanical belt system are obtained in the form of a design with a working drawing of a sanding machine with a mechanical belt system. The sanding machine with a mechanical belt system has specifications that are 500 mm long, 350 mm wide, and 1400 mm high. The source of driving the sanding machine with a mechanical belt system is an electric motor ¼ HP with 2800 rpm rotation. The transmission system uses pulleys. The sanding machine with a mechanical belt consists of several components, namely the engine frame, electric motor, pulleys, tables, belt aplas, and adjustment of the belt strength of the sandpaper. The belt pulley used is from ST 37 with a diameter of 25 mm and pulley rotation of 2800 rpm. Frame construction uses hollow iron measuring 40x40x3 mm from ST 37 material. The table uses 590x150 acrylic material.

Abstract

The 4 stroke (4 cylinder) gasoline engine ignition system simulation based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller was designed as one of the modeling of conventional ignition system modification into an electronic ignition system based on the Arduino Uno microcontroller. Conventional ignition systems are modified by removing distributor components and replaced with microcontrollers as ignition system controllers. Spark plug and coil cables are replaced with Igniton coil that uses Igniter. Arduino Uno microcontroller is used as a controller that receives signals from the optocoupler sensor and activates the module relay so that the electric current enters the Ignition Trigger, the voltage needed by Igniton Trigger is 2 V by using a step down transformer to reduce the voltage. So that the Ignition Coil is active and produces a high voltage so that it can produce sparks on each spark plug. This Arduino Uno microcontroller processes data received from an optocoupler sensor
