Abstract

Coastal area is a specific area where the region can be used as a tourist area, settlements, and agriculture. Some forms of utilization in the field of agriculture, among others, is farming of paddy fields or fishery ponds. As is the case along the southern coast of the Special Territory of Yogyakarta. Coastal residents of Bantul and Kulon Progo districts utilize coastal land as dryland farming and fishery ponds. This study aims to determine the effect of land use change in the Srigading Village (especially for the conversion of shrimp ponds) to the farmers' income in the Village. This research uses the tools of remote sensing technology to identify land use change that happened in the research area and combine with interview result data to know earnings difference from a farmer. The result of the analysis shows that land use in the coastal area of Srigading Village, Sanden Sub-District, Bantul Regency, before being used as shrimp pond is dominated by agricultural land and garden/moor. There are also settlements, and bodies of water contained in the study area. Land in the form of gardens/moor and agricultural land is a land that has the potential to switch function to shrimp farms as long as get enough brackish water supply. The distance is quite close to the beach and the river makes the land is very potential to switch functions into ponds. The results of the analysis also showed that farmers' income before and after shrimp farming in Srigading village experienced an average increase of almost 50%.Kawasan pesisir merupakan wilayah yang berpotensi mengalami perubahan penggunaan lahan. Penduduk pesisir Kabupaten Bantul dan Kulon Progo memanfaatkan lahan pesisir sebagai pertanian lahan kering dan kolam perikanan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh perubahan penggunaan lahan di Desa Srigading (terutama untuk konversi tambak udang) terhadap pendapatan petani di desa. Penelitian ini menggunakan alat teknologi penginderaan jauh untuk mengidentifikasi perubahan penggunaan lahan yang terjadi di daerah penelitian dan digabungkan dengan data hasil wawancara untuk mengetahui perbedaan pendapatan dari petani. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan lahan di wilayah pesisir Desa Srigading, Kecamatan Sanden, Kabupaten Bantul, sebelum digunakan sebagai tambak udang didominasi oleh lahan pertanian dan kebun/tegalan. Ada juga pemukiman, dan area air yang terdapat di wilayah studi. Kebun/tegalan dan lahan pertanian adalah lahan yang berpotensi untuk beralih fungsi ke tambak udang selama mendapat pasokan air payau yang cukup. Jaraknya yang cukup dekat dengan pantai dan sungai menjadikan tanah sangat potensial untuk beralih fungsi menjadi kolam. Hasil analisis juga menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan petani sebelum dan sesudah budidaya udang di desa Srigading mengalami peningkatan rata-rata hampir 50%.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17977/um017v24i12019p034

Abstract

Acclimatization is physiological adaptation way or a way from a species to adjust itself with new environment. The purpose of this research is to observe the process of salt level acclimatization in Guppy fish (Poecilia reticulate). Salt level about 2 g/mol was added in the water or environment until the salinity is 30 ‰. Guppy fish males have a body size 5 cm, colour schemes the body and fins are very bright and has a very economical price so as to attract the attention of Tuna (Katsuwonus pelamis).That process was done by adding 720 g of salt level each day during 14 days. In the first day, 65 Guppy fishes with average of weight is 1,1 gram and total length is 2,5 cm was added in the water. During 8 days (salinity 18 ‰), Guppy fish can adjust itself with the environmental, however after 8 days mortality rate of the fish is 0,02% - 0,05%. Until the end of the research, the mortality rate is 0,13% (9 fishes). Fish test results conducted in the waters of  Pramuka Island, thousand islands, showed fish can swim well and always be in the surface waters without sight change  very significant.

Abstract

Indonesia merupakan salah satu negara dengan tingkat bencana alam yang cukup tinggi, seperti gempa bumi, sehingga penyebaran informasi mengenai peringatan dini sangat penting. Media sosial Twitter menjadi salah satu tempat penyebaran informasi mengenai peringatan dini bencana alam gempa bumi di Indonesia melalui akun BMKG. Namu belum diketahui kualitas penyebaran informasi dari media sosial Twitter tersebut, oleh karena itu dibuatlah visualisasi untuk menganalisis kualitas penyebaran informasi dengan media sosial Twitter. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tiga tahap, yaitu retrieving, preprocessing kemudian visualisasi. Proses retrieving digunakan untuk mengambil data Tweet akun BMKG di Twitter. Tahap preprocessing berfungsi untuk mendapatkan hasil analisis kualitas informasi gempa bumi. Setelah itu hasil analisis data ketepatan waktu, relevansi, kelengkapan data beserta keakuratan data dibuat kesimpulan yang menyatakan kualitas informasi penyebaran gempa bumi, lalu hasilnya di tampilkan dalam bentuk visualisasi grafik.

Abstract

Sea Anemone is a close relative of corals. It is one of the marine life that is favored by lovers of sea-water ornamental Aquarium. Its body form resembling sponges with a beautiful color on her body. This sea anemone is a software belongs to the animals of animal invertebrates (spineless animals back). However, in the cultivation of fish, Clown fish which is much used living coral. The use of excess numbers of Anemone coral reef ecosystems in a dwindling and threatened to extinction. The results of this research show that the vitality of the living surroundings Amphiprion oscellaris aquariums made by an ideal aquatic environment conditions is not affected by symbiosis with Heteractis magnefica. Amphiprion oscellaris fish maintenance doesnt need sea anemone to survive, so the use of sea anemone can be minimised and replacing with artificial Anemone akuaskap as a decoration.

Abstract

Acoustic waves are transmitted into the subsurface ocean will experience scattering (scattering) caused by marine organisms, material distributed in the ocean, the structure is not homogeneous in seawater, as well as reflections from the surface and the seabed. Estimation of fish stocks in the waters wide as in Indonesia have a lot of them are using the acoustic method. The acoustic method has high speed in predicting the size of fish stocks so as to allow acquiring data in real time, accurate and high speed so as to contribute fairly high for the provision of data and information of fishery resources.  Split beam echo sounder comprises two aspects, and a transducer. The first aspect is the high-resolution color display for displaying echogram at some observations and also serves as a controller in the operation of the echo sounder. The second aspect is transceiver consisting of transmitter and receiver. The Echosounder divided beam first inserted into the ES 3800 by SIMRAD beginning of the 1980s and in 1985 was introduced to fishermen in Japan as a tool for catching up. Split beam transducer is divided into four quadrants.  Factors that contribute affect the value of Target Strength (TS) fish Strength target can generally be influenced by three factors: a target factor itself, environmental factors, and factors acoustic instrument. Factors include the size of the target, the anatomy of fish, swim bladder, the behavior of orientation.

Abstract

Aerial photogrammetry is one of the Alternative technologies for more detailed data, real time, fast and cheaper. Nowadays, many photogrammetric mapping methods have used UAV / unmanned drones or drones to retrieve and record data from an object in the earth. The application of drones in the field of geospatial science today is in great demand because of its relatively easy operation and relatively affordable cost compared to satellite systems especially high - resolution satellite imagery.  This research aims to determine the stage or overview of data retrieval process with DJI Phantom 4 (multi - rotor quad - copter drone) with processing using third party software. This research also produces 2 - dimensional high resolution image data on the research area. Utilization of third party software (Agisoft PhotoScan) making it easier to acquire and process aerial photogrammetric data. The results of aerial photogrammetric recording with a flying altitude of 70 meters obtained high resolution images with a spatial resolution of 2 inches / pixels.

Abstract

Sunda Strait has an important role in the water mass exchange from the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean so that the oceanographic condition is strongly affected by seasonal factors. The purpose of this study is to observe the relationship and the characteristics of significant wave height (SWH) and sea surface temperature (SST) in the Sunda strait and its relationship with IOD. The method employed is spatial analysis, low-pass filter, and spectrum analysis by S-Transform, beside that the correlation between SST and SWH is analyzed by wavelet coherency. The period of SWH and SST is dominantly semiannual, at the time of winter monsoon (the Northeast Monsoon), the SWH was reaching up to 2,11 m, while at the summer monsoon, the SWH was reaching up to 3.62 m. Reversely, the SST increased during the winter monsoon. At the time of 2016 had been detecting by the negative IOD with the IOD index of -0.65 and it caused the SWH increased by 0.3 m than its average. Based on the wavelet coherence, the SWH and the SST have the coherence in the period of 8 to 16 days, especially in March to April, and June to August.

Mangrove Distribution in Riau Islands Using Remote Sensing Technology

Abstract

Mangrove mapping is done with remote sensing technology using high-resolution image data. Application and information are then presented in web form. This study aims to map the mangrove distribution in Riau Islands, Indonesia. Based on the analysis, from the research data obtained the total area of mangrove in Riau Islands in 2011 and 2017 amounted to 71,504.83 Ha and 64,218.90 Ha, decreased by 7,285, 93 Ha or decreased by 10.19%. Based on the regency, the largest mangrove area in 2017 is located in Batam City of 22,964.77 Ha, then Karimun Regency (13,659,58 Ha), Lingga Regency (11,881.61 Ha), Regency of Bintan (9,701.49) Ha, Natuna Regency (2,477.16 Ha), Tanjungpinang City (1,847.65 Ha), and Anambas Regency (1,686.61 Ha). The magnitude of the widespread change (widespread reduction) occurring over the years between 2011 and 2017 by district, Natuna Regency experienced the largest reduction of 1,949.69 Ha or around 41.39%, followed by Lingga Regency of 1,947.15 Ha (14.08%), Tanjungpinang Municipality of 284.13 Ha (13.33%), Karimun Regency 1,920.93 Ha (12.33%), Anambas Regency of 195.90 Ha (10.40%), Batam City 1,094.83 Ha (4.55%) and Bintan Regency with 93.29 Ha (0, 95%). Opportunities that the pixels classified on the mangrove image are truly mangrove on the facts in the field.

The Two-Dimensional Wavelet Transform De-noising and Combining with Side Scan Sonar Image

Abstract

This paper puts forward an image de-noising method based on 2D wavelet transform with the application of the method in seabed identification data collection system. Two-dimensional haar wavelets in image processing presents a unified framework for wavelet image compression and combining with side scan sonar image. Seabed identification target have 7 target detection in side scan sonar imagery result.  The vibration signals were analyzed to perform fault diagnosis. The obtained signal was time-domain signal. The experiment result shows that the application of 2D wavelet transform image de-noising algorithm can achieve good subjective and objective image quality and help to collect high quality data and analyze the images for the data center with optimum effects, the features from time-domain signal were extracted. 3 vectors were formed which are v1, v2, v3. In Haar wavelet retained energy is 93.8 %, so from the results, it has been concluded that Haar wavelet transform shows the best results in terms of Energy from De-noised Image processing with side scan sonar imagery.

Abstract

The limitation of technology in the marine sector is a big problem faced by every coastal region in Indonesia. By looking at the income levels decreasion in Batam City area and the whole Batam Island, technology is the answer to overcome this problem. This community service activity aims to improve the understanding and skill of coastal community of Bale-Bale, Nongsa, Batam on the mapping and fishing area determination (DPI), intellectual property rights (Fishing Location) , and development of instructional material (textbook) at Batam State Polytechnic Campus. The fishermen at Bale-Bale Beach, Nongsa, Batam have been able to use GPS Map 585, and  depth detection instrument Side Scan Sonar for detecting and saving location which had lots of fish. Based on the results of community service activities, it can be concluded that community participation in Bale-Bale area with more focus is adolescents who have young and skilled soul, is a key factor that determines the success of marine technology utilization process to predict fish stock and helping to improve efficiency levels in the process of going out to sea.
