Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini membuat dan mengkarakterisasi Elektroda Selektif Ion (ESI) sebagai metode alternatif dalam penentuan Rodamina B secara kuantitatif pada makanan. Metode Elektroda Selektif Ion mudah digunakan untuk pengukuran di lapangan dan hasil pengukurannya memiliki sifat selektif dan sensitif. Elektroda Selektif Ion terdiri atas 4 bagian yaitu : Badan elektroda yang terbuat dari plastik polietilen, konduktor berupa kawat platina, membran menggunakan bahan aktif kitosan dan kabel koaksial RG 58 sebagai penghubung Elektroda Selektif Ion pada potensiometer. Optimasi komposisi membran yang kompatibel dan homogen pada ESI Rodamina B dilakukan dengan % berat perbandingan Kitosan:PVC:DOP adalah (4:32:64 ; 4:34:62 ; 4:35:61 ; 5:34:61; 5:35:60 dan 6:35:59). Total keseluruhan berat membran adalah 1 g dalam pelarut tetrahidrofuran (THF) dengan perbandingan 1:3 (b/v) yang dilapiskan pada kawat platina. Pengaruh waktu prakondisi (dopan) dilakukan dengan tujuan meningkatkan konduktivitas membran ESI yang telah dibuat. Perendaman membran dilakukan dalam larutan RCOONa 0,5 M dengan variasi waktu perendaman membran ESI selama 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 dan 80 menit. Karakterisasi sifat dasar ESI yang dibuat meliputi: faktor Nernst, kisaran konsentrasi pengukuran, batas deteksi, waktu respon, dan life time. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ESI yang dibuat menghasilkan karakteristik optimum untuk pengukuran analisis dengan faktor Nernst 58,86 mV/dekade konsentrasi, batas deteksinya 5,79 ppm, waktu respon yang cepat berkisar 30 detik dan memiliki life time hingga 45 hari. Komposisi penyusun membran optimal perbandingan kitosan:PVC:DOP adalah 4:34:62 dengan waktu perendaman optimum 30 menit.Kata kunci : rodamina B, pewarna makanan, elektroda selektif ion (ESI)

Abstract

Tujuan pendidikan adalah menyiapkan peserta didik menjadi anggota masyarakat yang memiliki kemampuan akademik atau profesional yang dapat menerapkan, mengembangkan atau memperkaya khasanah ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi atau seni. Dewasa ini, ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi berkembang sangat pesat. Persaingan di dunia kerja juga semakin ketat. Untuk itu, sekolah sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal harus selalu berpacu dan menyesuaikan diri dengan berbagai perkembangan ilmu pengethuaan dan teknologi tersebut. Kemampuan siswa dalam menyerap pelajaran harus terus dipertinggi agar dapat bergerak seiring kemajuan zaman. Daerah Desa Sungai Asam merupakan daerah pesisir sungai Kapuas. Akses dari kabupaten Kubu Raya dan jarak yang cukup jauh dari kabupaten kota desa ini kurang mendapatkan perhatian khusus. Berdasarkan hasil observasi dan wawancara yang dilakukan di siswa siswi MTs dan MA Minhajul Amilin desa Sungai Asam Kabupaten Kubu Raya, dengan beberapa kepala sekolah dan guru bahwa salah satu permasalahan siswa saat ini salah satunya ialah rendahnya motivasi atau semangat dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran sehingga mengakibatkan hasil yang kurang baik. Melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan mampu memberikan solusi terhadapa siswa siswi di sekolah yang ada di desa sungai asam agar memiliki kesadaran penuh akan pentingnya sebuah pendidikan dan mampu melaksanakan proses pembelajaran dengan efektif sehingga memberikan hasil yang baik. Adapun metode pelaksanaan kegiatan training meliputi menyiapkan alat dan bahan, observasi, melakukan kerjasama, dan pelaksanaan kegiatan teknik training. Hasilnya, terlihat siswa siswi MTs dan MA Minhajul Amilin begitu antusias selama proses training. Selain itu, materi yang di sampaikan sangat cocok dengan permasalahan yang di alami siswa-siswa.

Abstract

The Jatropha curcas oil extraction process potentially produce 1 (one) ton/ha of seed cake of 5 ton of Jatropha curcas fruit process into 2 ton/ha of Jatropha curcas oil. This solid organic waste has high potency as broiler feeding. However, the problem is the nutrition value of jatropha seed cake, because the seed cake contains too high raw fat and raw protein that can not be digested directly. Fermentation is one of the method to improve the nutrition value of seed cake. In this research, Rhizopus oryzae was used as fermentation agent of jathropa seed cake. This research is aimed to obtain the optimal inoculum dosage and fermentation duration to improve nutrition value of Jatropha curcas seed cake. The experiment used random factorial method with three times repetition. The factor for the first treatment is fermentation duration, 72 hours, 96 hours and 120 hours. The factor for the second treatment was inoculum dosage, that comprised three degree, 2 g/kg, 3 g/kg, and 4 g/kg. Measured parameter were proximate analysis of raw protein and fat content of fermentation product. The research’s result shows the change of nutrient content in Jatropha curcas seed cake after fermentation. The results showed that highest increase of raw protein (7,97%) was achieved by 3g/kg inoculum dosage and 120 hours fermentation duration. The highest decrease in raw fat (82,46,%) achieved by 4g/kg inoculum dosage and 96 hours fermentation duration. From its effectivity, it is obtained that the optimal inoculum dosage is 3 g/kg with optimal fermentation duration which is 120 hours that yield the best nutrient quality in Jatropha curcas seed cake fermentation.

Abstract

Nanga Taman Village whose field was about 415 ha and produce 828 tons of corn ears annually is potential natural resource of corn in Kalimantan Barat. As only its kernel has been used before, the other parts became a waste, which is threatening surrounding environment. The corn silk was unused part of the corn which can be converted into herbal tea for keeping body healthy and cure several disease. However, the villager did not have basic knowledge and skill to utilize it. To improve their knowledge, a training course was given as part of community service in Nanga Taman Village. By having this activity, participants’ attitude toward corn silk were improved as well as it offered a solution to reduce their garbage. Keywords: Nanga Taman Village, herbal tea, corn silk

Abstract

A shift in education and lectures paradigm leads to a constructivistic lectures, i.e. lectures that are more students-centered. Learning cycle is one of the lecturing models based on constructivist aspect which emphasizes that students themselves will create their knowledge. The purpose of this study was to know differences in students’ concept understanding and science application ability between students using learning cycle model and control class in general biology lecture. The method used in this study was quasi-experimental study with quantitative approach through paired sample t-test. Results showed that there were significant differences in concept understanding and science application ability between students using learning cycle model and control class. The average concept understanding and science application ability score for students using learning cycle model was higher than that of control class.Keywords: general biology, science application ability, learning cycle model, concept understandingABSTRAKPergeseran paradigma pendidikan dan perkuliahan menyebabkan perkuliahan mulai mengarah pada konstruktivistik, yaitu perkuliahan yang berpusat pada mahasiswa (student-centered). Siklus Belajar 5E (learning cycle) merupakan salah satu model perkuliahan yang berbasis konstuktivistik yaitu perkuliahan yang menekankan bahwa mahasiswa sendirilah yang akan membangun pengetahuannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan aplikasi sains mahasiswa antara kelas yang menggunakan Model Siklus Belajar 5E dibanding kelas kontrol pada perkuliahan Biologi Umum. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui uji-t sampel berpasangan (paired sample t-test). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan aplikasi sains yang signifikan antara kelompok yang menggunakan Model Siklus Belajar 5E dibanding kelas kontrol. Rata-rata skor postes pemahaman konsep dan kemampuan aplikasi sains mahasiswa di kelas yang menggunakan Model Siklus Belajar 5E lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol.Kata kunci: biologi umum, kemampuan aplikasi sains, Model Siklus Belajar 5E, pemahaman konsep

Abstract

Latar belakang dalam penelitian ini adalah Kurangnya keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa, karena mahasiswa kesulitan dalam memahami tahapan-tahapan prosedur kerja dan kesulitan dalam mengoperasikan alat-alat yang digunakan pada percobaan sintesis etil asetat. Hal ini disebabkan dalam penutun praktikum tidak dilengkapi dengan gambar. Kekurangan pada penuntun praktikum dapat di atasi dengan memberikan sebuah media pembelajaran, yaitu media flash. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa dari sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan media flash. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu pre-experimental, dengan rancangan penelitian “One-Group Pretest-Posttest” yang dilaksanakan sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan media flash. Subjek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak angkatan 2013 dengan jumlah 34 mahasiswa. Teknik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teknik pengukuran. Teknik pengukuran digunakan untuk mengukur keterampilan proses sains melalui tes tertulis. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat perbedaan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa dari sebelum dan sesudah diterapkan media flash yaitu dari 76,32% menjadi 95,32%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media flash dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia Universitas Muhammadiyah Pontianak angkatan 2013 khususnya percobaan sintesis etil asetatThis study was initiated by the lack of the students’ science process skills and the difficulty in comprehending the stages of work procedures and in operating the lab tools used in synthesis of ethyl acetate experiment. These problem were caused experiment module was not included related pictures. However, it can be overcome by providing a flash learning media. This study aimed at figuring out the difference of students’ science process skills before and after implementing flash media. The research was conducted using pre-experimental research using "One-group pretest-posttest" design. About 34 students of Chemistry Education in Academic Year 2013, UM Pontianak participated in this study. The technique used in this study was measurement technique. The measurement used to measure the science process skills through written tests. The study revealed that there was difference of students’ process skills before (76.32%) and after  (95.32%) the application of  flash media. Hence, it is concluded that flash media significantly enhance the students’ science process skills, particularly on the synthesis of ethyl acetate experiment

Abstract

This research supported by the problems emerging in class xi mia sman 27 bandungbecause less increasing study results in learning biology students. To overcome theseproblems by using a learning process implemented learning model learning cycle5E. Thisstudy aimed to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model of application of theconcept of students abilities in the material of the nervous system as well as knowingketerlaksanaan process of learning by using learning model 5E learning cycle on the materialof the nervous system.The method used is Quasi-Experimental Design with a sample that isclass I and class XI XI MIA MIA II the number of students in each class of 30 students. Thesampling technique used was purposive sampling. Research instrument used was a set of testsand observation sheet. Analysis of study data including normality test, homogeneity test andtest hypotheses.Results of analysis keterlaksanaan learning process by using the learningcycle 5E model of the average values obtained 97.50% berkategorikan good enough for theactivities of teachers and 96% berkategorikan good enough for the student activity. Theresults showed that the application of the concept of students ability to use the learning cycle5E learning model obtained an average value of 44.56 initial test, the final test of 72.17, NGainof 0.50 berkategorikan being an indicator of high concept application that indicatorapplication of the material that has been learned within the family, school, community.Application of the concept of students abilities without using 5E learning cycle modelobtained an average value of 43.31 initial test, the final test 55.26, N 0.21 Gainberkategorikan-low, high-concept application indicators are indicators of the application ofthe material that has been studied in the environment family, school, community. Hypothesistest results at the end of the test Learning Cycle 5E learning model on the nervous systemmaterial obtained t 5.06> 1.69 ttable at significance level of 5%. Based on the results of thisstudy concluded that there are significant learning model Learning Cycle 5E on the ability ofthe students expressed significant application of concepts and hypotheses accepted.

Abstract

The model of PBL learning is one of alternative way in which can be used to increase the critical thingking skills. The model of PBL learning include, student as participant to so solving problem and for create them as active participant in every solving problem process. In the concept of critical thingking the student aimed to test their ways of solving problem and can aware of mistakes. By using ouasi-experiment design research method and the research itself taking sample in purposive sampling. The population is all of class XI SMAN 9 garut student. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan suatu LKS atau menyempurnakan LKSyang telah ada.Pada tahap uji coba LKS akhir, LKS yang dikembangkan mulai diterapkan dalampembelajaran di kelas. Metode ini menggunakan satu kelas sebanyak 31 orang siswa. Instrumen yangdigunakan adalah tes pilihana ganda, angket validasi, dan angket respon. Setelah melalui prosesanalisis data, maka hasil penelitian menunjukan: Penyusunan LKS berbasis model learning cycle 5 Emenggunakan model Analysis, Development, Design, Implementation dan Evaluation (ADDIE) padatahap pengembangan di validasi, oleh ahli dengan skor rata-rata 0,88 dengan kategori valid danvalidasi oleh sepuluh orang siswa dengan skor rata-rata 0,98 dengan kategori valid, dengan demikianLKS ini sudah bisa di implementasikan dalam pembelajaran disekolah; LKS berbasis model learningcycle 5 E yang dikembangkan dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaranlingkungan. Hal ini didasarkan hasil N-gain sebesar 0,67 dengan kategori sedang, dan Respon siswaterhadap penggunaan LKS berbasis model learning cycle 5 E yang dikembangkan dalam pembelajaranpada materi pencemaran lingkungan menunjukan respon positif. Hal ini didasarkan pada analisisangket respon siswa yang memperoleh skor siswa rata-rata 3,64 dengan klasifikasi tinggi.
