Abstract

Sea ranching merupakan pelepasan ikan ke laut untuk ditangkap setelah mencapai ukuran konsumsi. Sea ranching biasanya diterapkan ketika rekrutmen alami rendah atau bahkan tidak ada dikarenakan sangat intensifnya penangkapan atau rusaknya habitat yang mendukung hal tersebut. Penelitian ini mengkaji daya dukung berdasarkan produktivitas primer. Selain itu juga mengkaji model restocking dalam sistem sea ranching.  Kajian ini menemukan bahwa perairan Semak Daun sudah mengalami tangkap lebih rekrutmen (recruitment overfishing).  Untuk itu perlu dilakukan restocking dengan sistem sea ranching. Daya dukung perairan bagi ikan kerapu macan, yaitu antara 0,703-1,06 ton/th dengan rata-rata 0,88 ton/th. Tebar sebaiknya diterapkan setiap bulan dan penangkapan pun dilakukan setiap hari sepanjang bulan. Pola tebar yang optimal adalah panjang benih 11 cm dengan  padat tebar 14.000 ekor pada mortalitas tangkapan 0,5 atau panjang benih 13 cm dengan padat tebar 13000 pada mortalitas tangkapan 0,4. Abstract

Abstract. The objective of the present study was to assess fisheries sustainability of flying fish in Takalar, South Sulawesi using RAPFISH analysis which is composed of four dimensions (ecological, economic, social, and technological).The results of sustainability analysis show that sustainability index in Takalar is 30.93, indicates that the status of flying fish commodities was less sustainable. Monte Carlo analysis results revealed that fisheries sustainability index is strongly stable. Leverage analysis results showed that there were 10 sensitive attributes of 15 existing attributes. Ten sensitive attributes should be of concern to policy makers and become policy priorities in the management of flying fish in Takalar.Hence, arrangement and the implementation of policies on sustainable flying fish fishery in Takalar is cricually needed. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai status keberlanjutan sumberdaya ikan terbangdi Selat Makassar.Metode yang digunakan adalah metode analisis RAPFISH dengan menggunakan 4 dimensi yaitu ekologi, ekonomi, sosial, dan teknologi.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang di Kabupaten Takalardikategorikankurang berkelanjutan karena nilai indeks yang dihasilkan hanya sebesar 30.93. Hasil analisis sensitivitas menunjukkan bahwa dari total 15 atribut yang digunakan, teridentifikasi 10 atribut sensitif yang mempengaruhi nilai indeks keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang yaitu: jangkauan daerah penangkapan, ukuran ikan yang tertangkap, ikan yang tertangkap sebelum dewasa, pasar utama telur, harga jual, sumber modal kerja, pemanfaatan traditional ecological knowledge, sistem ponggawa-sawi, pola kerja, dan perubahan alat tangkap bale-bale. Sedangkan 5 atribut yang tersisa dikategorikan tidak sensitif.Dengan demikian, penyusunan dan penerapan kebijakan yang dapat memperbaiki kondisi keberlanjutan perikanan ikan terbang di Kabupaten Takalar dianggap perlu dilakukan.Kata kunci :Status Keberlanjutan Ikan Terbang; RAPFISH; Kabupaten Takalar; Sulawesi Selatan

Abstract

There are several option management measures in preventing sustainability stock of the blue swimming crab (Portunus pelagicus), i.e., nursery ground conservation. Thus, the objective of this study was to analyses habitat characteristic and its population biology in the PGN marine embayment of Labuhan Maringgai, as one among crab habitat essential in East Lampung coastal water. The potential nursery ground conservation was assessed by habitat suitability index, carrying capacity, distribution and abundance as well as crabs size. The result shows that environmental condition was still suitable, even though the habitat carrying capacity tend to degraded by an increasing of turbidity and sedimentation at the embayment mouth. The crabs captured were also not representing of peak abundance season and recruitment during sampling period, while those crab size almost 100% under Lm50. The strategic management directive is required to control in utilization of crab’s essential habitat, including crab fishing by any fishing gear resulted undersize captured crabs. Meanwhile, to propose habitat essential conservation might need more consideration and comprehensive study, including social economic and cultural aspects and co-management approach may be required in management measure applied. Abstract

Enggano Island is one of the small outer island in Indonesia. The development of fisheries activity is aimed at optimizing the utilization of fisheries and marine resources through strengthening fishermans independence in fishing effort by still focus on resource sustainability. This study aims to analyze the potential of catch fisheries in North Bengkulu District and describe its development potential in Enggano Island. The data used is secondary data and the analysis used are descriptive, regional economic concentration (LQ) and potential analysis. The results show that North Bengkulu is categorized as very potential for the development of catch fisheries, especially small pelagic fish, demersal fish, hard-skinned fish, soft fish, and other aquatic fishes, with production value 13.59% of the value of catch fisheries production Bengkulu Province. The production of catch fisheries of Enggano Island is 27.89% of catch fisheries production in North Bengkulu and crab is a potential species because it is only produced in Enggano Island and not other sub-districts in North Bengkulu, with production about 19.4% of crab production in Bengkulu Province.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menguraikan estimasi daya dukung lingkungan perairan terhadap kegiatan budidaya.Analisis yang digunakan yaitu estimasi limbah organik dan pendugaan daya dukung perairan. Jenis ikan yang dibudidayakan yaitu ikan kerapu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa beban limbah dari kegiatan budidaya sebesar 1.04 kg N/hari/ unit. Estimasi beban limbah antropogenik yaitu 20.56 kg N/hari. Berdasarkan pendekatan beban limbah N, daya dukung lingkungan perairan Pulau Semak Daun terhadap kegiatan budidaya adalah 114 unit keramba jaring apung. Diasumsikan satu unit keramba jaring apung menghasilkan 300 kg ikan, maka diperoleh 28.2 ton produksi ikan yang dapat ditampung.

Abstract

Development of green mussel culture currently still requires the determination of strategies in accordance with the potential and conditions of coastal areas as well as management culture system. This research aims to formulate strategies of the utilization coastal waters for green mussel culture in coastal Kuala Langsa, Aceh Province. Data collected to identify internal factors and external, including primary and secondary data, while the determination of respondents using purposive sampling method. SWOT Analysis is used for strategy determined while prioritizing strategy using Quantitative Strategies Planning Matrix (QSPM) analysis. Based on SWOT analysis, identified 9 strength factors, 4 weakness factors, 6 opportunity factors, and 5 threat factors and 8 strategies, then the priority of strategies is determined with QSPM analysis, the sequence of the most important priority is: counseling and training to improve the management of green mussel culture for coastal communities (WO1); green mussel culture can be integrated with the involvement of coastal communities as stakeholders (WO2); optimization of coastal waters for green mussel culture is supported by ecology conditions (SO1); green mussel culture can be done with longline method with a density of 20 individuals/basket 5.30 l (SO3); site selection for culture and spat collection of green mussel should consider coastal oceanographic factors (ST1); controlling the level of waste disposal from the mainland so as not to pollute coastal areas (ST2); and to formulate practical guidance of management of green mussel culture based on the food security principle.

The Adaptive Capacity of Corals Based on the Health Level to Estimate the Carrying Capacity of the Marine Ecotourism in Enggano Island

Abstract

Enggano Island is one of the outermost islands of Indonesia. Among the recoverable resources that exist in Enggano Island are coral reef ecosystems. A coral reef ecosystem is also one of the ecosystems with a high level of biodiversity productivity having a major role as habitats, feeding places, and the coastal protection from the crashing of waves and strong currents. Currently, coral reefs are being destroyed either by nature or humans. The ability of an ecosystem to adapt to a disturbance or potential damage is called adaptive capacity. The aim of the study was to assess the adaptive capacity of corals in terms of their health levels to estimate the carrying capacity of marine ecotourism. The observation method used was survey method. Adaptive capacity measurements were carried out by analyzing six parameters: hard coral cover (%), distances from human settlements (km), dominance of lifeform, types of lifeform, reef fish species, and coral reef depth (m). Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji hasil tangkapan dan pola pertumbuhan ikan kerapu macan di perairan Semak Daun. Rata-rata hasil tangkapan ikan kerapu macan di perairan Semak Daun adalah 38.3 kg/bulan dengan simpangan baku 15.9 kg atau 0.098 kg/hari/perahu. Parameter pertumbuhannya adalah K = 0.27 per tahun, L∞ = 97.48 cm, dan to = -0.44, dengan hubungan panjang dan bobot mengikuti bentuk hubungan: W=0.008L3.16. Kajian ini pun menemukan bahwa di perairan Semak Daun sudah terjadi recruitment overfishing sehingga memerlukan langkah proteksi induk atau restocking.

Abstract

Daya dukung perairan dangkal Semak Daun dikaji secara keseluruhan melalui pendekatan beban P dan produktivitas primer. Kajian tersebut didasarkan pada dua bagian penyusun perairan yang berbeda batimetrinya, yaitu reef flat (281,89 ha) dan goba (9,9 ha). Selain itu, daya dukung perairan juga dikaji berdasarkan kelayakannya bagi budidaya keramba jaring apung/KJA (9,9 ha), sistem sekat (2 ha), sistem kandang (40,7 ha), dan sea ranching (262 ha). Daya dukung bagi pengembangan perikanan secara total adalah 652 ton/th. Daya dukung ini bagi daerah reef flat adalah 389,52 ton/th dan bagi daerah goba 262,94 ton/th. Dilihat dari jenis aktivitas perikanannya, daya dukung perairan Semak Daun bagi pengembangan KJA sebesar 78,17 ton/th, sistem sekat daya dukungnya 2,94 ton/th, sistem kandang sebesar 59,79 ton/th, dan daya dukung bagi pengembangan sea ranching sebesar 589,32 ton/th. Sementara itu, berdasarkan daya dukung perairan bagi sea ranching maka daya dukung bagi ikan kerapu adalah 5,112 ton/th. Dengan kata lain, kepadatan optimal kerapu macan (Epinephelus fusgoguttatus) di perairan sea ranching Semak Daun adalah 0,02 ton ha-1.Kata kunci: Epinephelus fusgoguttatus, daya dukung, sea ranching, Semak Daun
