Abstract

Network Management System (NMS) is an application that is used to monitor WiMAX Network and Services. The Network Management model that issued by ISO is the main model that consists of 5 (five) concepts: Fault Management, Configuration Management, Accounting Management, Performance Management and Security Management (FCAPS). The function of Fault Management is to detect, record, notify, and possibly to repair faults in order to maintain the effective network. OpenNMS is an open source NMS application which can be modified to be a Fault Management application which is a standard for WiMAX network. The WiMAX network monitoring is simulated with Net-SNMP using the OID from MIB IEEE 802.16f. The result suggests OpenNMS is applicable to manage faults.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to observe the quality of images resulting from electrical capacitance tomography using iterative linear back projection. Tests have been conducted using a rod and straw(s) that put inside an 8 electrode capacitive sensor with various positions. Dispite the size of the reconstructed images are bigger that that of original object(s), the linear back projection method can correctly indetify the position of object(s). In order to over come the inaccuracy of image sizes, the method is used iteratively. Resulting tests suggest 50 iterations can improve the reconstructed images as expected.

Abstract

Kite aerial photography (KAP) provides an alternative solution on conventional aerial photography by using kite equipped with digital camera that can be controlled from the ground and that can stream video to the ground. Data communication system that is applied on KAP utilizes microcontroller AT89S52 as the interface. Commands from a non-vibrated play station stick are modullated using frequency shift keying (FSK) and transmitted from the ground to the KAP. The commands are then demodullted for controlling the shutter and zoom of digital camera and positioning the digital camera by rotating servo motor (panning and tilting). Video is transmitted using frequency 1.2 GHz and received by a TV tuner to view the location/obejct to be captured. Functional testing has been conducted and resutls suggest that the system works as expected.

Abstract

WCDMA as 3G technology can provide high bit rate service. Therefore it is available to real time and non real time data service. In urban area needs of high bit rate service more increasing. However the capacity of WCDMA was limited. WCDMA channeling based on CDMA technology, every user use same frequency yet it distinguish by unique codes sequence. Hence the capacity of WCDMA was limited by two things, first by amount of code and interference. Interference comes from user who applying same frequency. Definition of soft capacity is when maximum capacity was limited by the amount of interference. In fact relation between interference and cell capacity in WCDMA are quite complicated. As example interference can happen because position of user in cell area, type of used antenna and imperfect power control from BTS.

Abstract

Telemetry is a process used to measure or record of a physical quantity in a location far away from thecentral processing of measurement results. Telemetry systems on unmanned aerial vehicles can provide information such as position, altitude, direction, and status in real time rides themselves during air vehicleis operated.The system consists of hardware and software. Hardware such as the IMU consisting of microcontrollers and sensors. For software consists of ground station systems that receive and process data from the IMU.On the software is equipped with aircraft instrumentation systems.On the test results, the system is able to provide information IMU slope rides, although there is still a noise at the output of each sensor. Instrumentation rides well it works exhibit a vehicle. Tracking can be performed by using a ground station.

Abstract

Heuristic enables antivirus software to detect new virus/worm because although the virus/worm has made changes in certain virus’s bytes, most of the virus/worm pattern will not change and this thing will simplify antivirus to detect polymorph virus/worm. Visual Basic 6.0 and modified waterfall method was used in this antivirus design. From the design result, this antivirus software can detect new virus/worm that not included yet in viruses signature database that can be observed from the test result. Detection accuracy result without using heuristic was around 61,53% and with heuristic was around 78,85%.

Abstract

Type scheduling contained in the mobile WiMAX is UGS, rtPS, nrtPS, BE and ErtPS. The software used isthe OPNET Modeler 14.5 Educational Version. Specification node from the network are made as follows: 1MS, 7 BS, 2 IP cloud that functioned as an IP backbone and server backbone, 1 ASN gateway (design model2), wimax config, application config, config profile and 1 server. The application used such as FTP, voice,video, web browsers and e-mail. The output like througphut after adding ASN gateway node the value approaching to zero after which time 500 seconds. The output measured in units of time such as: DRT, PRT,PED delay and jitter have the difference value but tended to decrease.

Abstract

This paper introduces realization of the smart antenna using microstrip array with working frequency of 2.3 GHz. The antenna has the ability of beam forming so that it is appropriate to be used for Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) applications. The fabricated antenna was tested and the results show that the bandwidth of the antenna is 187 MHz with the spectrum frequency from 2303 to2490 MHz. The antenna impedance and gain are 47.231 and 7.19 dBi respectively which show that the antenna is within the predefine specifications.

Abstract

Intisari - Transformator merupakan peralatan yang sangat penting dalam penyaluran tenaga listrik. Kenaikan beban pada transformator dapat menyebabkan nilai arusnya ikut bertambah. Kerusakan transformator disebabkan arus berlebih yang tidak terdeteksi. Kerusakan bisa dihindari apabila pengguna mengetahui bahwa transformator telah mencapai arus yang tidak diizinkan. Tujuan dari tugas akhir ini adalah membuat alat yang mampu membaca besar nilai arus listrik AC dan kemudian mengirim informasi nilai arus listrik pada objek yang diukur melalui layanan pesan singkat secara otomatis ke nomor tujuan. Alat ini menggunakan transformator arus untuk pengukuran arus listrik AC, pengkondisi sinyal untuk merubah dari tegangan AC ke tegangan DC, mikrokontroller sebagai pengendali utama, dan modem GSM berfasilitas AT Command sebagai pengirim SMS. Hasil dari pembuatan alat ini adalah dapat memberikan informasi nilai arus listrik AC dari jarak jauh melalui layanan pesan singkat ke nomor handphone tujuan secara otomatis apabila nilai arus objek yang diukur sudah melebihi batas arus yang telah ditentukan. Kata kunci - arus listrik, transformator arus, modem GSM, layanan pesan singkat (SMS).   Abstract - Transformer is a very important device in electric power distributions. The increase of load on the transformer can cause the value of the rising current. It caused by overcurrent that was not detected. It could have been avoided if the user know the transformer has reached electric current that is not allowed. The purpose of this final project is to create a device that is able to read AC current value, and then send the information value of the electric current on the object to be measured in a short message service automatically to the destination phone number. This device uses a current transformer for AC current measurement, signal conditioning to convert AC voltage to DC voltage, microcontroller as the main controller, and GSM modem as SMS sender. The result of creating this device is to provide information about the value of the AC electric current from a distance via a short message service automatically to the destination phone number when the electric current value of the object being measured has exceeded a predetermined limit. Abstract

Abstract WiMAX Forum has introduced a logical representation for WiMAX network architecture known as the Network Reference Model. NRM (Network Reference Model) has the function of an entity and reference point where the function is defined interoperability between these entities function. An NRM also defines the reference point that connects R1 to R8 entity functions. The research was conducted by simulating the reference point R1 to R8 that exist in NRM using the software simulator. The design of the network is done by making two scenario are used to represent a reference point. Two scenario using a single ASN-Gateway dan two ASN-Gateway.Key Words: WiMAX, Network Reference Model, reference point
