Abstract

Abstract. This study examined the selectivity of ethyl acetate extract of putat air (Barringtonia racemosa) in controlling Pomacea canaliculata compared to local catfish (Clarias batrachus). Five concentration of putat air (25, 50, 100, 200, and 400 ppm) with triplicate were tested in this study. The powder of putat air kernel was extracted through increasing the polarity of solvent, i.e. dichloromethane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The mortality data were analyzed using Trimmed Spearman Karber (TSK) program version 1.5. The selectivity value was calculated based on LC50 values obtained from TSK. The results showed that (1) LC50 values of putat airs kernel extract of putat air to P. canaliculata and C. batrachus were 25.00 and 87.06 ppm, respectively, (2) the selectivity value of putat airs kernel extract as molluscicide of P. canaliculata was 3.48. Abstract

Abstract. The objective of present study was to evaluate the possibility of  papaya’s latex (Carica papaya) as anti stress or larvaside for tiger shrimp (Panaeus monodon) post larvae Pl 14-30 during transportation. The tiger shrimp post larvae was collected from BBAP Ujung Batee, Aceh Besar on September, 2012. Reseach method used the completely random design with two factors, density of post larvae with three treatments (1000; 1500 dan 2000 ind/l) and concentration of papaya’s latex with four treatments (0; 100; 200 dan 300 ppm) and three replications for each treatments. The effect of papaya’s latex on tiger shrimp post larvae was observed by calculating the percentage of post larvae’s survival rate. The calculation was only done after twelve hours of transportation, due to the everage of survival rate percentage of post larvae on all levels of density was less than 50%.  The ANOVA test showed that  the density and the concentration factors gave significance effect on survival rate of tiger shrimp post larvae (P<0,05). The results showed that survival rate of tiger shrimp post larvae (PL 14-30) were decreased with increasing of larvae density and concentration of papaya’s latex.  However, Duncan’s test showed that the highest survival rate was obtained at 1.000 ind/l  and 0 ppm of papaya’s latex. Hence, the effect of papaya’s latex concentration treatments in this study was larvaside on tiger shrimp post larvae.Key words: Closed transportation system, dissolved oxygen, enzyme papain, tiger shrimp post larvae.

Abstract

ABSTRACTFishing port of Deah Glumpang is crowded with several activities and potencially be contaminated by heavy metal such lead (Pb). The objective of this study was to evaluate the lead content in sea water and sediment in this area. The research was conducted at fishing port of Deah Glumpang, Banda Aceh on October 2016. Samples were analyzed at Laboratory of BARISTAND. Samples of sea water and sediment were collected from four Stations using purpossive sampling method. Leads content in sediment from three Stations were identified still under threshold based on the standart quality of Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). The highest value of lead was obtained at Station II (15,41 mg/kg). While, leads content in sea water from Station II, III and IV were identified passed the threshold based on the standart quality for port waters of the Environment Ministry in 2004. The highest lead content was obtained at Station III (2,37 mg/l).Keywords : Heavy metal (Pb), sediment and sea water, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) ABSTRAKPelabuhan nelayan Gampong Deah Glumpang merupakan pelabuhan yang memiliki aktivitas multifungsi, sehingga perairan tersebut rentan terhadap pencemaran logam berat seperti Pb. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan logam berat timbal (Pb) pada air laut dan sedimen. Penelitian ini dilakukan di pelabuhan nelayan Gampong Deah Glumpang, Kota Banda Aceh pada Bulan Oktober 2016. Sampel dianalisis menggunakan Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS) di laboratorium Badan Riset dan Standarisasi Industri Aceh (BARISTAND). Pengambilan sampel sedimen dan air laut dilakukan pada empat Stasiun dengan metode purposive sampling. Kadar Pb pada sedimen di tiga Stasiun pengamatan teridentifikasi dalam kategori rendah sesuai dengan standar baku mutu yang ditetapkan oleh Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA). Kadar logam Pb tertinggi pada sedimen terdapat di Stasiun II yaitu sebesar 15,41 mg/kg. Hasil analisis sampel air laut pada Stasiun II, III dan IV teridentifikasi telah melewati ambang batas baku mutu berdasarkan ketetapan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Tahun 2004 untuk perairan pelabuhan. Kadar tertinggi diperoleh pada Stasiun III sebesar 2,37 mg/l.Kata kunci : Logam berat timbal (Pb), sedimen dan air aut, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS)

Abstract

The objective of this research was to figure out the diversity and dominance index of plankton in the waters of Kuala Rigaih, Aceh Jaya District. Samples were collected on October 2015 from three stations, namely upstream, estuary and downstream of the river. Sampling was conducted randomly with three repetitions, then samples were analyzed at the Laboratory of Marine Biology, Marine and Fisheries Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. The result showed that the diversity value in the waters of Kuala Rigaih ranged from 1.41 to 1.87 with the dominance value ranged from 1.41 to 0.28. This indicated that the diversity of plankton in the waters of Kuala Rigaih was cathegorized as moderate and there wasn’t the plankton spesies that dominated in the area Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat keanekaragaman dan dominansi spesies plankton di perairan Kuala Rigaih, Kabupaten Aceh Jaya. Pengambilan sampel dilaksanakan pada Bulan Oktober 2015, pada 3 stasiun yaitu hulu sungai, muara dan dekat laut (hilir). Pengambilan sampel plankton dilakukan secara acak pada saat pasang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Sampel plankton dianalisis di Laboratorium Biologi Laut, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Unsyiah. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa nilai indeks keanekaragaman (H’) di perairan Kuala Rigaih berkisar 1,41-1,87 dengan indeks dominansi (D) berkisar 0,18-0,28. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman spesies plankton di perairan Kuala Rigaih adalah sedang dan tidak ada spesies plankton yang mendominansi spesies lainnya (dominansi rendah).

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this research was to determine the characteristics and mineral content of coastal sand from  Lhokmee, Beureunut, and Leungah Aceh Besar District. The sand analysis was conducted at Material Laboratory of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Faculty, Syiah Kuala University from March to April, 2014. Samples were collected using purpossive sampling method. The observed physical characteristics of this research were sand color, shape and particle size. The mineral content was analysed using X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and Joint Committee for Powder Diffraction Standard (JCPDS) program. The result showed that Lhok Mee coastal sand was physically characterized as white, sub-angular rounded shape and 0.21 mm of size, while Beureunut coastal sand was light brown, rounded-well rounded shape and 0.19 mm of size, then Leungah coastal sand was black, angular-well rounded shape and 0.13 mm of size. Based on  mineral content showed that Lhok Mee, Beureunut, and Leungah coastal sand were dominated by SiO3, SO3 and Fe3O4, respectively. All identified minerals at all stations were classified as volcanic minerals of lithogenous sediment. Keywords: Beach sands; Color difference; Mineral content; Shape; Particle size.

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of henna leaf extract (Lawsonia inermis L.) on A. hydrophila in vitro and its effect on the survival rate of Clarias gariepinus that infected by those bacterias in vivo. The research was conducted at chemistry laboratory of Teacher Training and Education Faculty, Syiah Kuala University and at Microbiology laboratory, Brackishwater aquaculture Department Center, Ujong Batee on Avril to September, 2015. The research involved in vitro test with the inhibition zone as measured parameter and in vivo test with the survival rate value as measured parameter. The treated concentrations were 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5% of extract. The result of in vitro test showed that henna leaf extract was effective against A. hydrophila with the inhibition zone for 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5% extract were 5.45; 5.7; 6.5; 7.5; and 9.6 mm, respectively. The result of ANOVA test showed that henna leaf extract has a significant effect on the survival rate of catfish (P<0.05). The best survival rate was obtained at 4% of extract  concentration.  Keywords: Aeromonas hydrophila; henna leaf extract; catfishAbstrak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas ekstrak daun inai (Lawsonia inermis L.) terhadap A. hydrophila secara in vitro dan pengaruhnya secara in vivo terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan lele sangkuriang (Clarias gariepinus) yang terinfeksi bakteri ini dengan cara perendaman. Penelitian ini dilakukan di Laboratorium kimia, FKIP Unsyiah dan Laboratorium Mikrobiologi Balai Budidaya Perikanan Air Payau (BBAP) Ujong Batee pada dari bulan April hingga bulan September 2015. Penelitian ini meliputi uji in vitro dengan parameter uji berupa zona hambat ekstrak terhadap bakteri dan uji in vivo dengan parameter uji berupa nilai kelangsungan hidup ikan lele sangkuriang pasca perlakuan dengan ekstrak. Konsentrasi perlakuan yang dilakukan adalah 1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5%. Hasil uji in vitro menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun inai (Lawsonia inermis L.) terbukti efektif terhadap Aeromonas hydrophila dengan nilai zona  hambat secara berturut-turut terhadap konsentrasi 1, 2, 3, 4 dan 5% adalah 5,45; 5,7; 6,5; 7,5; dan 9,6 mm. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun inai berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan lele sangkuriang. Tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan terbaik diperoleh pada konsentrasi ekstrak 4%.Kata kunci : Aeromonas hydrophila; ekstrak daun inai; ikan lele sangkuriang

Abstract

The purpose of this research for determine to important value index at the mangrove range of area in Kuala Idi fishing port, East Aceh. This research was carried out on July–December 2015. Determine of sampling site used purpose sampling method and quadrate transect. The 6 (six) species of mangrove was found in locate, there are : R. Apiculata, R. Mucronata, R. Stylosa, Sonneratia Alba, Avicennia Lanata and Acanthus Ilicifolius. The results showed the highest in tree types was founded R. Apiculata at station 4 was 300% and the highest for seedling type was founded in R. Mucronata at station 3 was 123,33%.  Keywords : Mangrove, Kuala Idi, Density Type, Frequency Type, Closure Type,  Index of Important Values (IVI). Penelitian ini bertujuaan untuk mengetahui Indeks Nilai Penting (INP) pada area mangrove dipelabuhan Kauala Idi, Aceh Timur. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli-Desember 2015. Penetuan titik sampling diambil dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling dan sampel yang diambil dengan menggunakan transek kuadrat. Ada 6 jenis mangrove yang ditemukan pada lokasi penelitian, yaitu: R. Apiculata, R. Mucronata, R. Stylosa, Sonneratia Alba, Avicennia Lanata, dan Acanthus Ilicifolius. Penelitian ini menunjukan Indeks Nilai Penting tertinggi pada tingkat pohon ditemukan R. Apiculata di stasiun 4  yaitu  sebesar 300%, Indek Nilai Penting tertinggi pada tingkat anakan ditemukan R. Apiculata di stasiun 4 sebesar 191,97%, dan Indek Nilai Penting tertinggi pada tingkat semai ditemukan R. Mucronata di stasiun 3 sebesar 123,33%.  Kata kunci : Kuala Idi, Mangrove, Kerapatan Jenis, Frekuensi Jenis, Penutupan Jenis, Indeks Nilai Penting (INP).

Abstract

The objective of this study was to find out the optimum salinity of media to control Dactylogyrus sp. in catfish. This research was conducted at Marine Biology Laboratory, Marine and Fisheries Faculty on January 2016. This research used non factorial completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications I.e (A) 0 ppt, (B) ppt, (C) 8 ppt, (D) 9 ppt and  (E) 10 ppt. The observed parameters were the prevalence and intensity of Dactylogyrus sp. the survival rate of catfish and the water quality of media. The result of this study indicated that the salinity significantly affects the prevalence and intesity of Dactylogyrus, but did not affect the survival rate of catfish. The lower  prevalence  and intesity of Dactylogyrus sp. was obtained  at the treatment of 10 ppt with value 37,50% and 1,00 ind/fish.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui salinitas optimal yang dapat mengendali Dactylogyrus sp. pada ikan patin. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Biologi Laut, Fakultas Kelautan dan Perikanan, Universitas Syiah Kuala pada Bulan Januari 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) non faktorial yang terdiri 5 perlakuan salinitas dan 4 ulangan yaitu (A) 0 ppt, (B) 7  ppt, (C) 8 ppt, (D) 9 ppt, dan (E) 10 ppt. Parameter yang diukur yaitu prevalensi, intensitas Dactylogyrus sp. tingkat kelangsungan hidup ikan patin, serta parameter fisika kimia - kualitas air. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa salinitas berpengaruh nyata terhadap prevalensi dan intensitas Dactylogyrus sp., namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup ikan patin. Tingkat intensitas dan prevalensi Dactylogyrus sp. terendah terdapat pada perlakuan 10 ppt dengan nilai 37,50% dan 1,00 ind/ekor.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh ekstrak daun biduri (Calotropis gigantea) terhadap mortalitas lintah ikan (Piscicola geometra) pada ikan nila (Oreochromis niloticus). Penelitian ini dilakukan di Balai Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau (BPBAP) Ujung Batee pada bulan Januari 2016.Penelitian ini dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan enam taraf perlakuan dan empat pengulangan. Perlakuan yang diberikan meliputi konsentrasi ekstrak daun biduri dengan konsentrasi 0 (kontrol), 10, 25, 50, 75 dan 100 ppm. Hasil uji ANOVA menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak daun biduri (C. gigantea) berpengaruh nyata terhadap mortalitas lintah ikan pada taraf uji 5% (P<0,05). Konsentrasi optimal ekstrak pada penelitian ini yaitu pada perlakuan E dengan konsentrasi 75 ppm.The objective of this research was to determine the effect of (Calotropis gigantea) leaf extract on the mortality (Piscicola geometra) that infected tilapia fish (Oreochromis nilotucus). This research was conducted at Brackish Water Aquaculture Development Center, Ujung Batee on January, 2016. The research was designed using Completely Randomized Design with six treatments and four trials. The treatments involved the extract concentration of 0, 10, 25, 50, 75 and 100 ppm. The result of ANOVA Showed that the extract of C. gigantea have the significant effect on P. geometra mortality (P< 0,05). Abstract

This study was conducted in December 2015 at Weh Island. Determination of the station is done by using purposive sampling method. Macrozoobenthos were found as many as 26 species that was on the scene towards the sea, while at the location towards the land there are 23 species were found to consist of three classes : Gastropoda (landward 59% ) (seaward 54% ), bivalves (landward 16% ) (seaward 25% ), and crustaceans  (landward 25%) ( seaward  21%). Makrozobenthos highest density was found in the station 3 with density values of 45,33ind/ m2. Diversity index (H ) landward (2,86 ) and the direction of the sea (2,81), uniformity (E) landward ( 0,91) and the direction of the sea (0,98) and dominance (C) towards the land (0,16 ) and the direction of the sea (0,16). The distribution pattern type is divided into 2 categories: clumped and uniform pattern. Similarity index in the coastal island of Weh in 5 stations ranged 25% - 50%.%.Substrate condition in the can at the study site in the form of sand , silt and argillaceous. The content of the substrate is the highest in the study site in the form of sand in the can at the station 3 towards the land (74 %) and sea (61 %). Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada Bulan Desember 2015 di Pulau Weh. Penentuan stasiun dilakukan dengan menggunakan Metode Purposive Sampling. Makrozoobenthos yang ditemukan sebanyak 26 spesies yang berada di lokasi arah laut, sedangkan di lokasi arah darat terdapat 23 jenis spesies yang ditemukan yang terdiri dari 3 kelas, yaitu Gastropoda (arah darat 59%) (arah laut 54%), Bivalvia (arah darat 16%) (arah laut 25%), dan Crustacea (arah darat 25%) (arah laut 21%). Kepadatan makrozobenthos yang tertinggi ditemukan pada stasiun 3 dengan nilai kepadatan sebesar 45,33ind/m2. Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) arah darat (2,86 ) dan arah laut (2,81), keseragaman (E) arah darat (0,91) dan arah laut (0,98), dan Dominansi (C) arah darat (0,16) dan arah laut (0,16). Pola Sebaran Jenis terbagi kedalam 2 kategori yaitu pola mengelompok dan seragam. Indeks similaritas di Pesisir Pulau Weh di 5 stasiun berkisar antara 25% - 50%. Kondisi substrat yang didapat di lokasi penelitian berupa pasir, lumpur dan berlempung. Kandungan  substrat ditemukantertinggi pasir pada stasiun 3 arah darat (74%) dan arah laut (61%).
