Abstract

Abstract   This research was aimed at describing the extracurricular activities of music at SMA PGRI 2 Padang. This was descriptive research whuch used qualitative approach. The result of the research indicated that the extracurricular activities of music were designed based on the goals to be achieved. Encouranging the students to be creative and have skills in music by teaching the basic technique of playing music were the preliminary efforts done by the teacher. In this phase the teacher also trained the students to play particular music individually. The activities started from teaching the students to play rhythm guitar. Melodic guitar, bass, drum, vocal and the basic technique of playing traditional music instuments such as talempong, gendang tambua and sarunai.   Kata kunci : Kegiatan, Ekstrakurikuler, Musik

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to explain and reveal how to raise students' motivation in learning notation in MTsN Tarusan. During this time the teacher is plagued with low student motivation, thereby disrupting the smooth teaching and learning. The research was conducted by qualitative research with descriptive methods. Data obtained by interviews, direct observation, library research, and documentation. The research instrument is the researcher himself as a key instrument. Data were analyzed with phenomenological techniques. Results of previous studies suggest that students lack motivation in learning notation, it is caused by lack of proper teaching methods by teachers in the art of music MTsN. After the change in the method by teachers in teaching the art of music notation, reveal positive results in improving student learning motovasi notation. Means cooperative method is able to change the level of student motivation towards learning in MTsN Tarusan notation. Through cooperative pembelajran methods students have the motivation to read notation, because the element of cooperation pembnelajaran important role in practice, so that students are able to help a fellow co weaknesses of the students themselves. Abstract

Abstract This Article aim to find and describe how orgen tunggal gave influence toward the society and youth of Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. Type of this study was qualitative with descriptive method. Technique of collecting data was done by using library research, investigation, interview, and documentation. Data was classified into two, they were primary and secondary. Based on result of the study, the show of orgen tunggal had influence which big enough toward the society and youth  of  Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. The influence it can be seen of positive perspective which was based on opinion that given by host were effective and low cost for the society and they were a practical entertainment and medium to show the singing talent. The influence of negative one which was based on society opinion, said that use rythm of the music were disturb, the sexy appearance of  the artists, appearance exceeded the time limit and the used of beer by the audiences in the show. Those things ruined image of orgen tunggal in Kampung Air Panjang Jorong Kuamang Kenagarian Panti Timur Kabupaten Pasaman. Keywords: positive influence, negative influence, orgen tunggal

Abstract

Abstract This research was aimed at revealing the students? interest toward music throught observing their extracurricular activities in music at SMP Negeri 8 Padang. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The result of the research indicated that before the part-time teacher paid, the student had no interest in music, instead they joined some musical activities out of the school. However, after the part-time teacher worked with them and the program was organized, the students started to show their passion on music. Shortly, the students? interest was likely to rise as the goal and the target of an activity were defined clearly.   Keyword : Interest, music, extracurricular activities, descriptive, qualitative.

Abstract

Abstract The aim of this research was to describe the learning process on music subject for students with particular needs (blind) at SMP Negeri 4 Payakumbuh. This was a qualitative research that used descriptive method. This was done by seeing, observing and collecting information related to the research object. The data then was described descriptively. The result of the research that the students with particular needs did not get similar materials, methods, and learning media to the normal students as all of those required visual capability. In addition, there was not any specific teacher paid to help them in learning.   Keyword : musik, anak berkebutuhan khusus, kualitatif, deskriptif.

Abstract

Abstract Tauh is one of  traditional art in the form of musical essembly because it has three main elements: musical instruments, singers,and dancers. Tauh is originated from Lempur Tengah, Kerinci District which is usually perfomed in harvesting party. This study was aimed at finding and describing the function and use of Tauh in harvesting party of Lempur Tengah people. The method of this study was qualitative one. The data were collected through: 1) library study, 2) observation, 3) interview, 4)documentation. The data analysis wa classified based on the focus of the study after being separated and arranged systematically. The result showed that Tauh was previously used by the king as part of harvesting rituals, and to welcome the king?s guests. This traditional art was still practiced by Lempur Tengah people until now in their harvesting party. It was used as the sign of success of the party. Along with it develoment, Tauh was also used in welcoming important guests, participatingin festival, or as the represetativeof traditional art from Kerinci in any events in province level. Therefore, Tauh has several functions for Lempur Tengah people: (1) emotional reaction function, (2) entertainment function, (3) communication function, (4) physical reaction function, (5) social integrity function, (6) social institution legalization function. Abstract

This research is to explain about Pedagogic Competence of Art and Culture Teacher in SMAN 3 Kota Pariaman. This type of research is qualitative with descriptive analytical approach. The location ofthis research is in SMAN 3 Kota Pariaman, in the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018. Technique of collecting research data is using instrument of interview and observation. Based on result of the research that has been done can be concluded that the pedagogic competence of art and culture teacher in SMAN 3 Pariaman City is classified as "Good", It means that Art Culture Teacher in SMAN 3 Pariaman City has been able to do strategy or good learning method in accordance with the component of pedagogic competence in understanding the characteristics Learners, master theories of learning, develop curriculum/syllabus, organize educational learning, develop the potential of learners, and can evaluate the learners' learning outcomes. Keywords: descriptive study, pedagogic competence, art and culture teacher.

Abstract

Abstract   The aim of this research was to reveal the implementation of peer-tutoring method in arts and Music learning process at SMAN 4 Muara Bungo. This was an applied research in which in this research the research the researcher applied per-tutoring method by using qualitative method. This method was suited to the learning materials of the semester. The result of the research indicated that the application of peer-tutoring method in Rangkayo Hitam song especially those related to legato, cengkok, and vibration technique could improve the students? learning achievement. The improvement could be seen from their average score which was above the minimum standard score (SKM) 71.   Kata kunci: Siswa, kemandirian, tutor sebaya, bernyanyi, hasil belajar

Abstract

Abstract This article aims to find out and describe the existence of Selawat Dulang in Padang Sibusuk community which includes the use, function, position, meaning and effort to keep the existence of Selawat Dulang in Nagari Padang Sibusuk. This research was descriptive research using a qualitative approach. Instruments in this study were researcher self and assisted with the supporting instruments such as notebooks, stationery, and camera. The technique of data collection was done through literature study, observation and interview. The technique of data analysis was done by observation steps, identifying data, interpreting data, describing data and making discussion. The results show that the Art of Selawat Dulang is still existing and awakened in the mind of Padang Sibusuk people in accordance with the needs of Padang Sibusuk community. This study shows that Selawat Dulang has several functions. They are social function, as entertainment and group existence. The results prove that the position and meaning of Selawat Dulang in the community of Padang Sibusuk strengthening its existence and making Selawat Dulang as a form of cultural preservation. Keywords: Use, Function, Meaning, Existence, Selawat Dulang

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to describe implementation of group vocal learning in cultural arts subject at Class VII-4 in SMP Negeri 3 Padang.. Type of this research was a descriptive study with using qualitative method. The research instrument was the researcher. It was assisted by using supporting instruments such as stationery, camera, and voice recorder. Techniques of data collection were carried out by taking observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The steps in analyzing data were done by collecting, identifying, classifying, clarifying, describing and summarizing data. The results show that group vocal learning carry out by the teacher at class VII-4 in SMP Negeri 3 Padang is not going well and does not catch the target of learning objectives. It can be seen from the planning, implementation, and evaluation that is less relevant between the lesson plans and those implemented by the teacher. The teacher does not understand the concepts and techniques of group vocal singing well so that the students do not understand singing in the form of group vocals. At the time of learning, the teacher should provide musical training to students, so that students' understanding of singing group vocal can be carried out properly, and not just memorizing the song. Therefore, there are still some students who have not been able to practice it properly, due to lack of guided practice, lack of understanding of the material and practice of singing vocal groups correctly which impact on the student grades. In the results of the evaluation of learning to sing in vocal groups of the students at class VII-4, the highest score only reach 87 and the lowest score is 75. Keywords: Implementation, learning, vocal group, cultural arts
