Abstract

Perairan rawa banjiran Lubuk Lampam (RBLL) merupakan ekosistem khas yang mempunyai arti penting terutama secara ekologi sebagai habitat ikan khas rawa banjiran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kualitas air di RBLL terkait dengan perubahan muka air dan adanya masukan bahan antropogenik terutama dari kegiatan perkebunan kelapa sawit yang berada di dalam dan sekitar area RBLL. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa curah hujan merupakan faktor utama yang mempengaruhi perubahan muka air di RBLL. Fluktuasi muka air yang tidak ekstrim sebagai akibat dari curah hujan yang relatif merata sepanjang tahun menyebabkan karakteristik kualitas air antar periode musim menjadi cenderung sama. Secara umum, karakteristik kualitas air RBLL dicirikan dengan pH cenderung asam, kandungan oksigen rendah, kekeruhan tinggi serta konsentrasi total nitrogen dan total fosfor yang tinggi. Bahan antropogenik berupa herbisida dari jenis paraquat dan glyfosat ditemukan dalam konsentrasi relatif kecil (rataan 0,004 mg/L dan 0,003 mg/L), sehingga berdasarkan nilai resiko (Risk Quotient, RQ) kedua jenis herbisida ini memiliki resiko ekobiologi rendah (<0,01) sampai dengan sedang (0,01<RQ≤0,1).

Abstract

Kualitas kista artemia tergantung tingginya nilai derajat dan efisiensi penetasan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kapan (waktu) perubahan salinitas dan berapa besarnya perubahan salinitas tersebut yang dicirikan nilai derajat dan efisiensi penetasan sebagai indikator kualitas artemia.penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok. Faktor pertama terdiri dari dua, yaitu A (menaikkan salinitas pada hari ke9) dan B (menaikkan salinitas pada hari ke 15). Faktor kedua terdiri dari empat, yaitu peningkatan salinitas I (100; 100; 100;140 g/kg), II (100; 100; 140; 140 g/kg), III (100; 140; 140; 140 g/kg) dan IV (100; 110; 125;140 g/kg), dan dengan 3 kelompok warna yaitu biru, merah dan hijau. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan sidik ragam dan bila memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda nyata dilanjutkan dengan uji Duncan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan B II menghasilkan derajat penetasan paling tinggi, sedangkan efisiensi penetasan paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan AIII.Kata kunci: artemia, kista, salinitas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The research consisted of two phases, pre research and research phase. Pre research was carrried out to quantify the isoosmotic of Juvenile catfish by conductivity both on media and fish body which purpose to make  the curve of the correlation between salinity with conductivity. The research phase was the maintenance of Juvenile Catfish for 20 days to prove isoosmotic value to survival rate, growth and feed conversion. This research used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were media freshwater (control), 2 ppt (P1), 4 ppt (P2), 6 ppt (P3), 8 ppt (P4). The research value showed there was positive correlation between salinity and conductivity. The isoosmotic value for Juvenil Catfish was 5,893 mS/cm or 4,11 ppt salinity. Survival, growth and feed conversion ratio shows the results were not significantly different (P <0,05). Meanwhile, regression equation indicated salinity (X) that optimal for the maintenance of Juvenile Catfish ranging from 2,6 to 5,0 ppt. Keywords : Conductivity, Growth, Isoosmotic, Salinity, Survival rate

Abstract

An experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of protein levelin diet on feed eficiency and growth rate of Snakehead (Channa striata). Fivediet with different level of protein, diet P25(25% protein); P30 (30% protein); P35(35% protein); P40 (40% protein); and P45 (45% protein) were applied in thisexperiment. Ten fishes with initial body weight range 0.7 – 1.0 gram were rearedin each aquarium (water volume 10 L). Fishes were fed three time a day, atsatiation. Fish reared for 30 days.The result showed that growth rate and feedefficiency of fish fed diet 25% protein level (P25) were0.28 g and 2.46%, diet30% protein (P30) were 0.71 g and 9.86%, diet 35% (P35%) were 0.84 g and14.18%, diet 40% protein were 1.17 g and 16.97%, or diet 45% protein (P45)were 1.00 g and 9.58%. Based on BNT test showed that diet 40% protein levelwas higher growth rate and feed efficiency of fish than others diet. While survivalrate of fish fed diet 25% protein level was 50%, diet 30% protein was 46.67%,diet 35% protein was 76.67%, diet 40% protein was 63.33%, or diet 45% proteinwas 100%. Based on analysis of varians, had no significant different on survivalrate.Water quality of rearing media were temperature range was 26 – 29oC, pHwas 6.7 – 7.2, dissolved oxygen was 1.46 – 4.16 mg.L-1, and ammonia was 0.014- 0.182 mg.L-1.Keywords : Protein level in diet, feed efficiency, growth rate, Channa striata

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the optimum salinity changes to improve quantity and quality of cyst produced by Artemia. This experiment used completely randomized factorial design. Factor a was salinities changes at day-9 (A) and day-15 (B) of culture. Factor b consisted of four salinity increasing treatments, which were I (100, 100, 100, 140 ppt); II (100, 100, 140, 140 ppt); III (100, 140, 140, 140 ppt) and IV (100, 110, 125, 140 ppt). The highest fecundity was obtained by B.I treatment. The highest quantity of the cysts was produced by A.III treatment. Treatment of A.I produced cysts with the highest protein content. These results showed that the high quality and quantity of cysts was obtained when salinity increase started at day-9 of culture.

Abstract

Pangasius is a fast-growing fish species that has great potential for production and export growth in Indonesia. Their farming produces a lot of organic material and ammonia which potentially make polution in freshwater body. The wastewater can be used for high value microalgal cultivation media.  The microalgae are used in various fields, one of those is Spirulina platensis, a spiral blue green algae.  This aims of this study was to determine the best composition of the technical fertilizer in the pond waste of Pangasius farming pond to obtain maximum density and know the spesific growth rate of Spirulina platensis. The research method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 6 treatments (3 replication), P0 using 100% technical fertilizer without using Pangasius waste water while P1-P5 use 0% (P1), 25% (P2), 50% (P3), 75% (P4) and 100% (P5) technical fertilizer using Pangasius farming waste water. The most efficient treatment obtained 23.90 gL-1 maximum density, 6.22%.d-1 specific growth rate and 87.77% ammonia removal.

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aims of this research were to study the influence of mixed industrial soy sauce liquid waste and Zarrouk medium mixture on population density and specific growth rate of Spirulina platensis on a short periode. This study has been conducted from March to April 2017 in the Laboratory of Aquaculture, Aquaculture study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Sriwijaya. This research was arranged according to completely randomized design (CRD) with 5 treatment levels and 3 replications. The treatment levels consisted of P1 (0 % industrial soy sauce liquid waste + 100 % Zarrouk medium), P2 (25 % industrial soy sauce liquid waste + 75 % Zarrouk medium), P3 (50 % industrial soy sauce liquid waste + 50 % Zarrouk medium), P4 (75 % industrial soy sauce liquid waste + 25 % Zarrouk medium), P5 (100 % industrial soy sauce liquid waste + 0 % Zarrouk medium). The parameters observed during the study were population density and the maximum specific growth rate. The result of this study showed that the treatment P2 gave the best in maximum density (60.6 g.L-1 ) and specific growth rate (14.66%. day-1). Keywords: Spirulina platensis, the liquid waste ketchup, Zarrouk media.

Abstract

Availability of water in swamp areas is abandon almost throughout the year, therefore these areas are potential for aquaculture development. However, the characteristics of swamp water is mainly acid water, therefore, it becomes mayor problems in swamp fish culture development. Liming of ponds is intended to increase pH value of soil and water  of fish ponds. A. granosa shells is one of domestic waste containing of 61.16% CaO and 21.65% MgO, therefore it can be used as an alternative material for liming of fish ponds. The aims of this research was to evaluate the potency of lime derived from A. granosa shells to raise soil’s and water’s pH, and to evaluate its effect to survival and growth of Pangasius sp. The research was conducted and arranged based upon completely randomized design with five treatments and three replications. The treatments used consisted of different dosages of lime, namely : P1) 1 ton/ha; P2) 2 ton/ha; P3) 3 ton/ha; P4) 4 ton/ha and P5) 5 ton/ha of lime equivalent to CaO. The results showed that both the soil and water reach a neutral pH at a dosage of 2 ton/ha (P2), 3 ton/ha (P3), 4 ton/ha and 5 ton/ha. The dosage of 5 ton/ha (P5) was the best treatments among all treatments, with a highest survival rate (100%), absolute growth of fish lenght (9.35 cm) and weight (40.69 g), as well as feed efficiency (110.97%).

Abstract

Dewi et al, 2019. The Effect of Addition of Liquid Fertilizer on Soil Fertility and Water Quality in Pond at Tidal Lowland. JSLO 8(1):The soil of tidal lowland contains a lot of sulfidic material, low soil pH (> 3.50), high toxic substances and low soil fertility. This study aimed to compare the effect of adding liquid fertilizer to soil ponds is made of afkir fruit on tidal swamp land. The research used three treatments without replication. The treatments were pond without liquid fertilizer/control (P0), addition of liquid fertilizer concentration 0.131 L.m-3 (P1) and 0.261 L.m-3 (P2). The parameter were water quality, soil fertility, abundance and composition of plankton, and plankton that were potensial as natural feed of fish. The data obtained processed using descriptive analysis. The result of this research indicated that the addition of liquid fertilizer in KTM Telang Banyuasin gave positive changes to water quality and soil fertility parameters such as pH, secchi depth transparency, ammonia, orthophosphate, iron, N-total, P-available, K-dd, C-organic and pyrite, and has a negative effect on dissolved oxygen.. The treatment P2 resulted in highest plankton abundance value of phytoplankton (7974 ind.L-1) and zooplankton (192 ind.L-1), the fertility of pond was on moderate level (mesotrophic), 100% of phytoplankton natural food potency and 71.4% of zooplankton natural food potency.
