Abstract

Provinsi Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam (NAD) saat ini sedang berbenah dari keterpurukannya setelah didera konflik hampir 30 tahun dan disusul dengan bencana alam gempa dan tsunami. Untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut, penelitian ini mengembangkan suatu model pembelajaran yang memanfaatkan realitas dan nilai-nilai Islami serta mengoptimalkan keaktifan siswa. Model ini dikenal dengan Model Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik menuju Aceh Madani (Model PM-RAHMA). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan, yang bertujuan untuk memperoleh model PM-RAHMA yang memenuhi kriteria valid. Adapun tahap-tahap dalam pengembangan model pembelajaran ini adalah tahap investigasi awal, tahap desain, tahap realisasi, dan tahap tes, evaluasi, dan revisi. Dengan mengikuti tahap pengembangan di atas, diperoleh buku panduan tentang model PM-RAHMA beserta perangkatnya yang memenuhi kriteria valid. Adapun  sintaks model PM-RAHMA adalah (1) orientasi, (2) penyajian masalah real yang bernuansa Islami, (3) pemahaman masalah real secara individu, (4) Diskusi kelompok tentang masalah real, (5) presentasi hasil diskusi kelompok, dan (6) evaluasi dan penguatan. Sedangkan perangkat yang diperoleh adalah buku siswa, Lembar Kerja Siswa, Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran, dan tes hasil belajar. Kata kunci: pendekatan realistik, masyarakat madani

Abstract

The rise of the moral crisis that occurred among students, fuelling disquiet and anxiety of the various elements of the nation. One of the solutions to tackle the problems of the moral crisis is through the character education.  This research aims to analyze the efforts of teachers to develop the character of critical thinking and creative thinking of students through the learning of mathematics, and know the relationship of teacher's effort to develop the character of critical thinking and creative thinking characters with student learning outcomes related to the ability of critical thinking and creative thinking. Subjects in the study was a teachers of mathematics class V-2 MIN Tungkop Aceh Besar District. Research data collected through observation and interview against teachers and students as well as through tests the ability of the creative thinking and critical thinking that are given to students. Based on the results of the research it is known that 1) The teacher had been an effort to develop the character of critical thinking and creative thinking of students by providing questions that include critical thinking and creative though not at all meetings, but the encouragement of teachers in order to give students the critical thinking and creative thinking during the learning process still belongs to minimal 2) The ability of critical thinking and creative thinking students of class V – 2 in the category of “Very low”.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi pada fenomena seiring terkikisnya nilai karakter siswa, pandangan bahwa pengetahuan sebagai seperangkat fakta yang harus dihafal dan masih berfokus pada guru, serta kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah-masalah pada materi segitiga yang berkaitan pada dunia nyata. Materi segitiga memerlukan kreativitas dan kerja keras siswa sehingga siswa dituntut untuk membangun pengetahuannya sendiri. Pendekatan kontekstual merupakan salah satu pendekatan yang sesuai pada materi segitiga dengan pengajaran yang mengacu pada kehidupan dunia nyata dan siswa diajak untuk belajar berpikir serta menanamkan karakter kerja keras. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui level karakter kerja keras siswa dan hasil belajar siswa melalui pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis karakter pada materi segitiga. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimendengan desain one shot case study . Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VII-6 SMP Negeri 3 Banda Aceh yang berjumlah 32 orang dengan 3 orang siswa yang diamati karakter kerja kerasnya. Data dalam penelitian ini dikumpulkan dengan teknik observasi dan tes. Observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati karakter kerja keras siswa sedangkan tes digunakan untuk mengukur kemampuan siswa tentang segitiga. Data level karakter siswa dianalisis dengan menggunakan empat kategori, yaitu Belum Terlihat (BT), Mulai Terlihat (MT), Mulai Berkembang (MB), dan Menjadi Kebiasaan (MK), sedangkan data tes hasil belajar siswa dianalisis dengan cara menghitung persentase dan membandingkan dengan KKM. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran dengan pendekatan kontekstual berbasis karakter yang digunakan dalam materi segitiga di kelas VII-6 SMP Negeri 3 Banda Aceh level karakter siswa mengalami peningkatan yaitu berada pada level MB dan MK, hasil tes seluruh siswa mencapai ketuntasan secara klasikal, dan kemampuan guru mengelola pembelajaran berada pada kriteria baik.

Abstract

Based on KTSP, Teaching and Learning in early class is held thematically, it means, some subjects are integrated in a theme. Furthermore, realistic mathematics education needs to be improved in order to make it suitable with curriculum need. The purpose of this research is to improve realistic mathematics teaching materials thematically in the first class of Elementary School. This research was done by classroom action research, which was begun by analyzing problem together with the teacher, and then implemented it for three cycles. The first cycle is limited try out for student in the first class of elementary school, the second cycle is modeling try out for PMRI training participants in Medan, and the third cycle is modeling try out for PMRI workshop participants in Aceh.  Based on the try out, we got realistic mathematics teaching and learning thematically materials in the first class of elementary school, namely teaching plan and student worksheet.   Key words: realistics approach, thematics teaching.

Abstract

Every individual basically has the creative potential and creative thinking abilities of students can be improved, so that the teacher needs to know the level of creative thinking abilities of the students in solving mathematical problems and filed. By knowing the level of creative thinking abilities of students the teacher can design methods, strategies and learning techniques to improve students' ability to think creatively. One way to determine the level of students' creative thinking among others, by asking students to solve problems and propose open (open ended). The use of open-ended questions can stimulate creative thinking, original thinking skills, and innovation in mathematics. This study aims to determine the level of students' creative thinking in mathematical problem solving and problem posing through open ended type of questions and the level of creative thinking of students in the filing of mathematical problems through open ended type of questions. This research is a descriptive qualitative data collection using the test method open ended questions and interviews. The subjects were students of class VII MTsN Meureudu. All the study subjects given a test with open-ended questions, the results were analyzed based on three components, namely creative thinking fluency, flexibility and originality, then researchers conducted interviews with six students to confirm an answer and describe the level of creative thinking. The results showed that two students are at level 4 (very creative), a student is at level 3 (creative), and two students are on the 2nd level (quite creative). While the other students do not have the ability to think creatively in solving problems. Three of the six students are on the 2nd level (quite creative), while three other students do not have the ability to think creatively in a posing problem.

Abstract

Abstrak. This study aims to determine the level of students creative thinking in solving math problems. This study is a qualitative verificative research. Subjects numbered 4 people ie students of SMA Negeri 4 Banda Aceh class X. The selection of subjects was based on Matching Familiar Figure Test ( MFFT ) ie 2 students and 2 students reflective impulsive. The data were obtained from the study subjects written response tests of creative thinking math ( TBKM ) and interviews. To test the credibility of the data the researcher doing triangulation. In this study, triangulation was used to compare the triangulation method TBKM TBKM 1 with 2 and interviews. Creative thinking abilities of students can be seen by thinking of creative mathematics achievement indicators. Creative thinking ability of students surveyed as follows, the level of creative thinking on the subject of reflective material up 1 flat is level 4 which meets four indicators of fluency, novelty, flexibility, and elaboration, the level of creative thinking on the subject of reflective material equation 1 is a straight line that is level 4 meet four indicators fluency, novelty, flexibility, and elaboration. Level of creative thinking on the subject of reflective material up 2 flat is level 4 which meets four indicators of fluency, novelty, flexibility, and elaboration, the level of creative thinking on the subject of reflective material 2 is a straight line equation 4 level indicator which meets four fluency, novelty, flexibility, and elaboration. Level of creative thinking on the subject matter up impulsively 1 flat is level 1 which meet the proficiency indicator, the level of creative thinking on the subject matter impulsive equation 1 is a straight line which meets the level 1 two indicators of fluency and elaboration. Level of creative thinking on the subject matter up impulsively 2 flat is level 3 which meets three indicators of fluency, novelty, and elaboration, the level of creative thinking on the subject matter impulsive equation 2 is a straight line that meets two level 1 indicators fluency and elaboration. Abstract

Creative thinking skills and mathematical reasoning students need to be increased to achieve the goals of learning mathematics. But learning school mathematics teachers do during these generally lack the ability to develop. One way that can enhance creative thinking and reasoning skills by applying mathematical problem-solving approach. This study aims to determine the increase creative thinking skills and mathematical reasoning in students who learn to approach problem solving than students who studied with conventional methods. This study uses a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. The population in this study were all students of class IX SMP Negeri 1 Peusangan Selatan which consists of three classes with 65 students the number of people. Sampling was done randomly from three available classes is taken two classes (a class IX-2 as experiments and a class IX-3 control class). Data collection instruments in the form of test creative thinking ability and mathematical reasoning, observation sheets, and the attitude scale questionnaire. Statistical testing using t-test to see the difference in the ability of students who previously tested for normality and homogeneity of the significant level of 0.05. The results showed that 1) the increase creative thinking skills students learn mathematical problem solving approach is better than the students who received learning with conventional methods, 2) based on the attitude scale questionnaire, students positive attitudes towards learning mathematics with problem solving approach. Abstract

Program International for Student Assessment (PISA) merupakan program penilaian tingkat Internasional yang diselengarakan setiap tiga tahun sekali yang bertujuan untuk meneliti kemampuan siswa usia 15 tahun dalam literasi membaca, matematika, dan sains. Hasil PISA tahun 2009 dan tahun 2013 menunjukkan bahwa prestasi siswa Indonesia pada literasi matematika masih berada pada level 2. Rendahnya prestasi tersebut tidak terlepas dari proses belajar di sekolah, salah satunya siswa belum dibiasakan menyelesaikan soal-soal yang menuntut kemampuan siswa untuk menganalisis, bernalar, beragumentasi, merepresentasikan permasalahan dalam berbagai situasi, dan memecahkan masalah yang berhubungan dengan masalah kehidupan sehari-hari. Untuk itu perlu dikembangkan soal matematika setara PISA yang sesuai dengan konteks siswa Indonesia yang dapat digunakan guru sehingga literasi matematika siswa dapat meningkat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk menghasilkan soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationships untuk siswa SMP yang valid dan praktis dan (2) untuk mengetahui level siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationships. Penelitian ini menggunakan alur pengembangan instrumen oleh Tessmer. Subjek penelitian adalah 36 siswa kelas IX-5 MTsN Model Banda Aceh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) diperoleh perangkat soal matematika setara PISA pada konten shape and space dan change and relationship sebanyak 12 butir yang valid dan praktis dan (2) rata-rata pencapaian level siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika setara PISA masih berada pada level 2.Kata kunci: penelitian pengembangan, soal PISA

Abstract

Abstract. To increase and improve PISA rankings (Programme for International of Student Assessment) of Indonesian students not only starts from the students, but also teachers and prospective teachers. The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of students as prospective teachers to solve problems of high-level PISA (most difficult) is level 5. This study was a descriptive study using a qualitative approach to describe the ability of each student in solving PISA question. The subjects were students taking the Teaching Mathematics I course of Mathematics Education Program FKIP Unsyiah. Data analysis in qualitative research based on the results of the data collection process in the form of field notes, documentation, and interviews. Assessment conducted on students ability to solve problems using the PISA assessment rubric. Furthermore, the score obtained is converted into the interval level of ability. The results showed only one student (14,28 %) of the seven students who have an excellent ability to resolve the matter appropriately. Meanwhile, three students (42,85 %) experienced only a mistake on the problems at the problem of the distance down. However, the ability of the three students vary based on the accuracy of the analysis in solving aspects. For the third ability of other students (42,85 %) were still low due to the settlement of questions that do not quite right with the ability to be at sufficient levels. Based on the results of this study are expected each faculty can use international issues as a matter of PISA in learning, so that students get used to solve the problems of non-routine to improve their ability to understand and solve problems, which can contribute to the future of teaching practice. Keywords: PISA, most difficult level, students as prospective teachers

Abstract

This research aims to examine the improvement of mathematical communication skills of the students who learn using the team quiz learning model. This is an experimental research with pretest-posttest-control group design. The population of this study is all of the seventh-grade students in one of the junior high schools in Banda Aceh. We use a simple random sampling technique to obtain two classes as the research samples. The data were collected using tests of mathematical communication skills and self-efficacy questionnaires. The statistical tests used in this study were the paired t-test and two-way ANOVA. The results show that: (1) The improvement of the students’ mathematical communication ability in the team quiz class is higher than the conventional class; (2) The improvement of the students’ self-efficacy in team quiz class is higher than the conventional class; (3) There is no interaction between the learning model and the student level towards the students' mathematical communication ability; and (4) There is no interaction between the learning model and the student level towards the students’ self-efficacy.
