Abstract

 Based on a preliminary observation at Grade X of Automation class of SMKN 1 Batam Batu Aji, the self concept and learning outcomes in Physics has not been accomplished as expected. Constructivism modules were presumed can solve the problems. The purposes of this research were to disclose whether Constructivism  Physics modules can better improve the students self concept and learning outcomes. This research was a Two-cycle Classroom Action Research, conducted in even semester of academic year 2011/2012 at Grade X Automation class at SMKN 1 Batam Batu Aji. Data on the self-concept were collected through observation while the learning outcomes were collected by using a test.Based on the data analysis the findings showed that (1) there is a significant improvement in self concept, and (2) there was a significant learning outcome after the application of the Constructivism modules in Physic. It can be concluded that Constructivism modules can better improve the self-concept and the students’ achievement in Physics at Grade X Automation class. The findings implied that Constructivism modules can be wider developed in order to improve the students’ self-concept as well as the students’ learning out comes. It was suggested for further researchers to employ similar research in other setting to determine the effect of Constructivism on the students’ self concept and the learning out come. Abstract

This study was aimed at describing the context, inputs, processes, and products, at internship program at SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan. This study was an evaluation research model of CIPP. The methodology used was a combination of method (Method Mix) by order of the design verification (Sequential Explanatory Notes). The experiment was conducted at SMK 1 Palembayan. Informants prakerin research were chairman of prakerin, treasurer prakerin, teachers, mentors and industry students. The technique of collecting data was observation, it was questionnaires, and interviews. Based on the analysis of the data found that the level of achievement of the program in the context of variable prakerin prakerin program at SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan was 89.42% with a good category. Input variables prakerin program at SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan was 84.51% with a good category. Prakerin process variables program in SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan was 83.34% with a good category. Variable products prakerin program at SMK Negeri 1 Palembayan was 86.88% with a good category.Keywords: Evaluation, Prakerin, CIPP

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the problem in the learning process in the system starter and charging system course at SMK N 2 Sijunjung. The type of this study is a combination of quantitative and qualitative methods by using descriptive evaluative approach. The aspect consists of input, process and output in the learning process, and an analysis of qualitative data consists of data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. Respondents in this study were the students of grade XI KR Light Vehicle Technical Skills Competency. Data collection techniques by using observation, interviews, and documentation. The finding indicate that the input in the learning process in the “fair” categories, processes and outputs in “good” categories. It can be concluded that the teaching prcess has full filed the standard process criteria. Thus it is apply teaching process refers to its standard and have good evaluation to learning’s achivements based on authentic assessment.Keywords: Evaluation, Learning//

Abstract

Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya hasil belajar siswa pada mata Diklat Pemeliharaan/Servis Transmisi Manual Jurusan Teknik Otomotif di SMK N 1 Kec. Guguak. Tujuan yang ingin dicapai dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) untuk mengetahui tingkat kecendrungan hasil belajar siswa terhadap mata Diklat Pemeliharaan/Servis transmisi Manual, 2) untuk mengetahui Minat belajar siswa pada mata Diklat Pemeliharaan/Servis Transmisi Manual, 3) untuk mengetahui Hubungan Minat Belajar Terhadap Hasil Belajar Siswa Pada Mata Diklat pemeliharaan/servis transmisi manual siswa jurusan teknik otomotif di SMK N 1 Kec. Guguak. Hasil penelitian ini mengungkapkan bahwa Hasil hipotesis yang di ajukan dalam penelitian ini Ha diterima, Ho ditolak karena terdapat hubungan minat belajar terhadap hasil belajar mata diklat pemeliharaan/servis tranmisi manual t hitung> t tabel (2,076 > 1,684). Dengan demikian hipotesis yang diajukan sebelumnya dapat Ha diterima pada taraf kepercayaan 5%.-------------------------------------------------------------------The problem in this study low student learning outcomes in the eyes of Training Maintenance / Service Manual Transmission Automotive Engineering Department at SMK N 1 district. Guguak. The objectives in this study were 1) to determine the level of students tendency to eye training Maintenance / Service Manual transmission, 2) to assess student interest in the eyes of Training Maintenance / Service Manual Transmission, 3) to determine the relationship Interests Against Learning student Results in Eye Training of maintenance / servicing manual transmission automotive engineering students at SMK N 1 district. Guguak. The results of this study revealed that the results of the proposed hypothesis in this study received Ha, Ho is rejected because there is interest in studying the relationship of the learning outcomes of the training eye care / service manual tranmission t count> t table (2.076> 1.684). Thus the previously proposed hypothesis Ha accepted at 5% confidence level.

Abstract

Pembelajaran di SMK Teknologi Plus Padang tidak hanya membekali peserta didiknya di dalam sekolah melalaui praktik dan teori, namun dibekali pula Praktik Kerja Industri yaitu terjun langsung di Dunia Industri agar siswa dapat berlatih mempraktikkan keahlian serta menambah keahlian baru yang dapat menjadi bekal nantinya bekerja maupun berwirausaha. Ini dikarenakan Menyempitnya Lapangan pekerjaan Serta Kesempatan Bekerja dengan orang yang mencari Pekerjaan berbanding terbalik/lebih banyak orang yang mencari kerja. Maka Penelitian dalam skripsi ini bertujuan : 1) untuk mengetahui prestasi praktik kerja industri siswa, 2) untuk mengetahui minat berwirausaha siswa, 3) Untuk mengetahui hubungan prestasi praktik kerja industri siswa, 4) dan untuk mengetahui apakah nilai prestasi praktik kerja industri yang berbeda menunjukan minat berwirausaha yang berbeda. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah jenis penelitian kuantitatif dengan metode Ex Post Facto. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI Jurusan Teknik Otomotif SMK Teknologi Plus  Padang Tahun ajaran 2011/2012 sebanyak 66 orang. Teknik pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah Proportional Random Sampling.Hasil dari analisis data diperoleh bahwa minat berwirausaha siswa Teknik Otomotif SMK Teknologi Plus Padang temasuk kateguri baik, dimana 19 orang (57,6%) siswa mnyatakan minat berwirausaha baik dan 14 orang (42,4%) siswa menyatakan minat berwirausaha cukup. Sedangkan prestasi belajar kerja industri siswa SMK Teknologi Plus Padang termasuk tinggi dimana, 10 orang (30,3%) siswa dengan prestasi belajar kerja industri sangat tinggi dan 23 orang (69,7%) siswa dengan hasil belajar baik. Kemudian korelasi antara minat berwirausaha dengan prestasi belajar kerja industri sebesar (r) 0,458 dan koefisien determinasinya sebesar 20,98%. Untuk menghitung keberartian korelasi menggunakan uji t. Hasil uji t diperoleh thitung 3,227 ≥ t­tabel 2,455, dengan demikian Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima. Sehingga hipotesis menyatakan terdapat hubungan yang siknifikan antara minat berwirausaha terhadap prestasi belajar kerja industri siswa Jurusan Teknik Otomotif di SMK Teknologi Plus Padang.-----------------------------------------------------------------Teaching learning processes in SMK Teknologi Plus Padang not just explain the material with practive and theory ways, but they are also supplied with industry working practice; that the students learning in industry or a company directly, for practice and increase the students skills that they get as a supplied in working or be an entrepreneur later. It is caused by the small of job opportunity and also the change of job opportunity is not suitable with the people that want to get the job. So, the purpose of the research in the thesis are: first, to know the students skills in industry working practice.  Second, to know students talent in entrepreneur. Third, to know the correlation of students industry working practice with the students skill. Fourth, to know is the industry working practice mark that different as result of the different talent. The design of the reasech that used was the quantitative reasech with  Ex Post Facto method. The population in this research was the students at XI grade of otomotif technique program in SMK Teknologi Plus Padang at 2011/2012 was 66 students. The sample technique in this reasech was proportional Random Sampling.The result of data analysis was the students otomotif technique talent in entrepreneur in SMK Teknologi Plus Padang was very good, that 19 students (57,6%) that have  an excellent entrepneur talent and 14 students (42,4%) have good an entrepneur talent. Therefore the students skill working industry was high,10 students (30,3%) get the excellent mark and 23 students (67,7%) get a good mamrk. After that the correlation between the entrepreneur talent with the student skill in studying working industry was 0,458 (r), and determine coefisien around 20,98% to count the corelation. The correlation writer used t method. The result of this method was tcant 3,227 ≥ ttable 2,455, so Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. So that the result of the hypothesis was that have a significant correclation between entrepreneur talent with the students skill in studying working industry of Otomotif Technique Program in SMK Teknologi Plus Padang.Kata kunci: minat berwirausaha ,  prestasi belajar, praktik kerja industri  siswa

Abstract

This research was aimed at revealing the degree of contribution of Attitudes about Vocational High School and learning techniques to learning achievement of SMKN 5 Batam student. and learning technique to jointly contribute to achievement. The population was all students in XII grade of Ship Electrical Engineering of SMKN 5 Batam 71 student’s with a total sampling technique, qualitative description and ex-post facto that has used the questionnaire of Likert scale models that have been tested the validity and reliability with learning achievement of National Test. The analysis showed that: Attitudes of the Vocational High School student’s contribute significantly (18,9%) is equivalent to the learning achievement. Learning technique significantly contribute’s to the (29,6%) of student’s achievement, and The attitude about Vocational High School and learning technique to jointly contribute significantly  37,6 % of the scholastic achievement. Based on these researches, it can be concluded that the attitude of Vocational High Schools and learning technique are two important factors that contribute to scholastic achievement of SMK student. Therefore, it is suggested to organize related program to these two factors to improve the scholastic achievement of SMK student.Keywords: Attitudes, Vocational Education, Learning, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

This research was aimed at revealing the degree of correlation Field Experience and Working Motivation toward the readiness of Entering workforce of SMK Negeri 1 Batam students. Three hypotheses were tested in this research, they were: (1) There is a significant correlation between field experience and the readiness of entering the workforce, (2) There is a significant correlation between working motivation on the students the readiness entering the workforce, (3) Simultaneously, there is a significant correlation between field experience, working motivation and the readiness of entering the workforce. The results of data analysis showed that (1) There is a significant correlation between field experience and the readiness of entering the workforce (0.427), (2) There is a significant correlation between the readiness entering the workforce (0.510), (3) Simultaneously the field experience and motivation working correlated significantly (0.581) to the readiness enter the workforce. Abstract

Based on a researcher’s experience and pre-observation on the Speaking Tourism class Grade X  SMK N 2 Batam, it was found that the student’s speaking skill was not as expected. It was presumed this condition was caused by inappropriate instructional strategy used by the teacher. This research was aimed at disclosing factors that influence the improving of the speaking skill and determined the improvement of the student’s achievement in speaking. This is a two-cycle classroom action research was conducted at Grade X Tourism class, at the second semester 2011/2012 SMKN 2 Batam. Qualitative data were collected through observation by a collaborator and quantitative data were collected by tests. Based on the data analysis, it was found that (1) there was a significant improvement in the learning process: student’s participation, student’s confidence to speak, and class interactions. (2) there was a significant increasing in learning achievement with mean score above the minimum standard score. The conclusion of the research that the PAIKEM Strategy can better improve the active teaching and learning process as well as the student’s achievement in speaking skill. This finding implies that PAIKEM would be creatively elaborated to improve the student’s centered learning. The researcher suggests for further researchers to employ similar research in other classes and settings to test the effectiveness of the student’s speaking skill. Keywords: Strategy, PAIKEM, Improvement, Skill, Speaking Students

Abstract

Shipping Electrical Engineering Department at SMKN 5 Batam had lots of enrollees in 2012-2013 academic year. They chose this department because the good prospect for its graduates to be readily accepted as employees in shipping manufacture Industry. However their English speaking ability was still low. To overcome this problem the researcher tried to implement picture and picture cooperative learning model (CPaP) with the aim of improving the students’ ability in Speaking English. This was quasi experimental research using 2X2 factorial design. It was conducted at SMKN 5 Batam from July to December 2012. The sample consisted of 68 students taken with purposive random sampling technique. The instruments used for collecting data were: (1) questionnaire for measuring students’ learning motivation and (2) test for students’ speaking ability. The data were analyzed by using t-test and ANOVA. The results of data analyses showed that: (1) The speaking ability of students taught by using CPaP model was higher than that of the students taught by using conventional model. (2) The speaking ability of high motivation students taught by using CPaP model was higher than that of high motivation students taught by using conventional model. (3) The speaking ability of low motivation students taught by using CPaP model was higher than that of low motivation students taught by using conventional model. (4) There was no interaction between the learning model and learning motivation toward the students’ speaking ability. Based on the results above, it can be concluded that the use of picture and picture type cooperative learning is effective for improving students’ ability  in speaking English. Keywords: Learning Model Picture and Picture (CPAP), Motivation, Ability to Speak English

Abstract

This research aimed to know deeply about the implementation of life skill education which consist of: Planning, Implementation, Evaluation and even the obstacle of life skill problem and the solving problem at the Automotive Technical Specification in vocational 1 Sutera. The method which is used in this research qualitative research method by using the qualitative steps as suggested by spradley.The informants were purposively selected, with snowball sampling technique. The number of informant were as extended as needed. The key informat’s is the headmaster of vocational high school 1 Sutera and so increases match of that data’s need.Data were collected through observation, interview and study documentation validation was conducted by applying the triangulation technique, that is validation by functioning the outside thing of data. The triangualation was done by comparing the interview data source from observation, comparing the actors statement articulated openly and those communicated individually, and comparing the data gathered with the relevant theory.This research finding were the implementation of life skill program which was integrated into the implementation of learning at the core curriculum at school. The implementation of learning life skill education was not conducted maximally, because there were the abstacles. They seemed that the teacher did not understand the life skill education it self, introduction and student comprehension about life skill education was not available maximally. According to the evaluation result of learning and teaching process include the evaluation, life skill education has appropriated with common standard procedure at school. While the result factor was at relatively low level. According to the minimum passing standard, the competency test grade is 7, while the student average reached 6,8. It means the student estimation reaching at life skill program which was predicted from the competency test result is 65-70 %. Keywords: Life Skills Education, Vocational
