Abstract

The problem in this research was the low performance of student in the Practical of Mechanical Workshop Mechanical Engineering Study Program Polytechnic State of Padang in the implementation of learning practices that affected by occupational safety and health , student discipline, and guidance of lecturer. This study aims to analyze the relationship occupational safety and health, student discipline and guidance of lecturer with the student practice performance of mechanical workshop Mechanical Engineering Study Program Polytechnic State of Padang. This study was a correlational study with a quantitative approach. The population of the research is all the student of 2016 with consisted of 125 people. The sampling technique used is proportional random sampling, that 96 people as a sample and 29 people were respondents taken from the population. Data were collected through a questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability. The results showed that, 1) there is a strong and positive correlation between occupational safety and health  with the student practice performance with rhitung (0.463)> rtabel (0,199); 2) There is a strong and positive correlation between discipline with performance of students practical with rhitung (0.479)> rtabel (0,199); 3) There is a strong and positive relationship between the guidance of lecturers with the performance of student practical with rhitung (0.451)> rtabel (0,199); 4) there is a very strong and positive together occupational safety and health discipline students and guidance of the lecturer with the performance of student practical rhitung (0.525)> rtabel (0,199).

Abstract

This research were aimed to recommend a hypothetical strategic plan model at SMKN 1  Batam. To meet the goal of objective required of this research to clarify: (1) the process of arranging strategic plan, (2) the implementation of the Strategic Plan, (3) factors that were effected the implementation of Strategic Plan.This research used the descriptive analytical method using a qualitative approach. Model development is assessed through the study of relevant literature, so the study is classified as Research and Development. Data obtained through observation, interviews and documentary study. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion, validity verification of data through criteria: (1) belief (observation and triangulation, (2) reliance, and (3) assurance. The results of  this research were are recommending the formulation of a hypothetical models in SMKN 1 Batam more comprehensive and balanced. The Hypothetical model which formulated for the school strategic plan could be: (a) The guidance in realizing the school vision and mission, (b) the basic policy for operational program lower policy; (c) to allows school to make an annual program and continuously program, (d) define a performance target in accordance with the potential resource, (e) school guidelines for in implementation of School-Based Management, (f) to involve public participation in accessing information for transparency  and accountabilityKeywords: Strategic Planning, Effectiveness, Development Model

Abstract

Program prakerin can make the form of attitude and improvement self potency and skill, bur until now the process of prakerin noy yet run well as do we hope paper was aimed for describing the inputs, processes, and Outcomes, of internship program at SMK Negeri 2 Payakumbuh. Method evaluation research model of Contenance Stake,s. Informants prakerin research were chairman of prakerin, treasurer prakerin, teachers, mentors and industry students. The technique of collecting data was observation, questionnaires, and interviews. Based on the analysis of the data found that the level of achievement of the program in the phase of input was in category in the very good. Bat at the process phase the achievievement of program was in enough category. while at the phase of output the prakerin program was in good category. In general we can conclude that the prakerin process at SMK N 2 Payakumbuh is run well. But we still need the improvement on process stage. Keywords: Evaluation, Prakerin, Stake

Abstract

This article was written to (1) describe the mechanism policy and implementation of the governance system of Mobile PLIK The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, (2) describe the implementation governance system of Mobile PLIK in Bukittinggi. The data of this study were information and documentation. The primary source of data were the key informants were the chairman of sub management working and the staff management working of universal service on financing and the development agency (BP3TI) and the next informant was the management leader PT Persada. The data were collected by interview, observation and study documentation. The result of this study revealed that the implementation governance system of Mobile PLIK based on the policy of central government that is handled by The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology was general service control policy and not specific and also there was no optimal coordination with operator MPLIK in the implementation of Mobile PLIK in Bukittinggi. Keyword: IT Governance and MPLIK

Abstract

Information Systems and Information Technology (IS/IT) is becoming increasingly important for every college and other organizations, as it can provide various facilities in the implementation of business processes and increase competitive advantage. By IT Governance Since this is currently one of the Critical Success Factor (CSF) for management to further optimize the role of IS/IT. Chief Information Officer (CIO) as one of HR in the organizational structure of  IS/IT has a very important role, its a CIO to have the competencies required in line with the direction of the development of the IS/IT in the organization. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 40 respondents to the research object CIO competence. Preparation techniques CIO competencies through 5 stages: (1) analyze the role of IT in the organization, (2) determine the position of CIO in organization structure, (3) the preparation of job decription CIO position, (4) preparation of CIO competence needs and (5) perform validation of the test results in general competency mapping and assessment experts in discussion forums delphi technique. Results of this study showed that the current trend Padang State University requires the CIO position at a strategic level in the organization structure. Guided by the Clinger Cohen Act, the results of this study also produced 57 recommendations on the competencies that have been compiled in accordance with the respondents choice rankings, with the breakdown as follows: 31 behavioral competencies, technical competencies 22 and 4 technical competence of expert input results in a technical discussion forum DELPHI. Keywords: Information Systems and Information Technology (IS/IT), Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Competence CIO

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine maturity level of Delivery and Support process on the implementation of the Academic Information System Padang State University, according to the criteria in the Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT). Processes evaluated were (1) Ensure Continuous Service, (2) Manage Service Desk and Incidents, and (3) Manage Data. The method used in this study is a questionnaire with the appropriate research subjects RACI diagram mapping, and direct observation of Academic Information Systems, State University of Padang. The findings showed the maturity level of the process ensure continuous service, manage service desk and incidents, and manage data in the implementation of the Academic Information System Padang State University is located on level 3 (the process is defined). Results of evaluation of the maturity level is fundamental in determining the proposed improvements to the management of the State University of Padang in order to improve the service. Keywords: IT Evaluation, Academic Information System, COBIT, Maturity

Abstract

This article was written to (1) Differences practice learning outcomes of students who are taught using project-based learning with students who are taught using the method of practice (2) Differences practice learning outcomes of students who are taught a high initial capacity using project-based learning with students of high ability who are taught prior the method of practice, (3) Differences practice learning outcomes of students who are taught the ability to use low initial project-based learning method with low initial ability students who are taught by the method of practice, (4) interaction between learning method and the ability to influence the outcome of prior learning practice. This study is a quasi-experimental study with a 2×2 factorial design. Sample was 26 people. Study tested using ANOVA test. The findings of the study are: (1) learning outcomes of students who are taught the practice of project-based learning method is higher than students who are taught by the method of practice, with a significance probability of 7,973> 4,225, (2) practice learning outcomes of students who are taught using project-based learning that has high initial capacity is higher than the students who are taught to practice the method with a significance probability of 14 359> 4,225, (3) learning outcomes of students with practice using project-based learning that have a low initial capability has no significant difference from the students to practice methods that have capabilities with low initial probability of significance 1.58 <3:06, (4) There is no interaction between project-based learning methods and the ability to influence the outcome of prior learning practice with a significance probability of 1.755 <4,225. Keyword: Project Method, Initial Capability, Learning Outcomes

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to develop an integrated thematic learning model based on Islamic values in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah practically and effectively. The type of this research is development research that refers to the model of 4D. The distribution of this model is implemented in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah of Padang city in 2016. The types of data are qualitative and quantitative data. Qualitative data are derived from observation and interview. Furthermore, quantitative data are obtained from questionnaire. The products of integrated thematic learning model based on Islamic values which have been developed are model guidebook, educator guidebook, and student guidebook. The achievement of the research results indicate that the three products have meet the criteria of validality, practicality and effectiveness. The book model can be used by educators/ teachers and students of elementry school level in helping the students become active and having a good character.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi (1) tingkat capaian UU no. 14 tahun 2005 tentang guru dan dosen, (2) beban mengajar guru SMK yang telah disertifikasi, dan (3) dampak sertifikasi ter-hadap kinerja guru di mata masyarakat. Metode penelitian yang di-gunakan deskriptif, populasi sebanyak 954 orang guru, sampel di-pilih sebanyak 247 orang dengan teknik random sampling. Data di-kumpulkan dengan angket dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik des-kriptif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa (1) secara umum guru SMK telah memenuhi kriteria UU No. 14 Tahun 2005 ten-tang Guru dan Dosen; (2) sebagian besar guru SMK telah mem-peroleh beban mengajar yang sesuai dengan yang ditetapkan peme-rintah yaitu 24 jam tatap muka, dan (3) secara umum dampak serti-fikasi relatif kecil terhadap kinerja guru, namun cukup baik ter-hadap kesejahteraan guru kejuruan. Kata kunci: evaluasi, sertifikasi, kinerja guru SMK ______________________________________________________________PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF VOCATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL’S CERTIFIED TEACHERS IN WEST SUMATRAAbstract This study was aimed to evaluate the achievement level of: (1) Law no. 14 of 2005 on teachers and lecturers, (2) the teaching load of vocational school teachers who have been certified, and (3) the impact of certification on the teachers’ performance. The research used descriptive method. The population comprised 954 teachers, and sample of 247 people were selected with a random sampling technique. Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive techniques. The study found (1) the general vocational teachers had met the criteria of the law no. 14 of 2005 on teachers and lecturers. (2) the majority of teachers had acquired vocational teaching load in accordance with the governments full 24-hour face-to-face, and (3) in general, the impact of certification is relatively little on the performance of certified teachers, but good enough for the welfare of vocational teachers. Abstract

DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND WORK WORLD RELATIONSBased on universal issues in the era of globalization, this article describes some phenomena how essential the role of Vocational and technical education in recent year to support the development of work forces in Indonesia. The wise government policies are needed to run various program of Vocational and technical educationin entire country, which is based on world-work needs. The common problem appeared is how to build the "mutual symbiotic" relationship between vocational and technical schools and the world of work.
