Abstract

The research was conducted at Screen house Experiment Berastagi at ± 1340 m asl from April untilJuly 2013 using split plot design with main plot, i.e. organic liquid fertilizer concentration (0, 2, 4,and 6 mL/L) and sub plot is tuber weight difference (≤ 3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 g). Parameter observedwere plant height, duration of green leaves, tuber weight per plant, weight tuber per plot, and tubergrade percentage.The result showed organic liquid fertilizer treatment significantly defend thechlorophyll leaves (duration of green leaves). Tuber weight difference treatment significantlyincrease plant height, main stem number, tuber number per plant, weight tuber per plot and tubergrade percentage on 10,1 – 20 g. The interaction of two factor significantly increase tuber gradepercentage on ≤ 5 g. The best result was showed by organic liquid fertilizer concentration 6 mL/Land tuber weight 9-12 g.________________________________________________________________________________Keywords : weight tuber, organic liquid fertilizer, potatoes tuber

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth and the production response of broccoli on application ofchicken manure and Phosphate Solubilizing fungi. This research was conducted in the field of BalaiPenyuluhan Pertanian (BPP) Kuta Gadung, subdistrict Berastagi Karo regency of North Sumatrawith altitude ± 1250 meters above sea level in January - April 2014 using a Randomized BlockDesign (RBD) factorial with 2 factors : chicken manure (0 kg , 3 kg , 6 kg ,9 kg per plot) and fungiphosphate solvent (10 ml , 20 ml , 30 ml per plant).The variable observations measured were plantheight , stem diameter , number of leaves , fresh weight per plant samples , selling fresh weight perplant sample and the number of chlorophylls. The results showed that the variable observationsresponse of broccoli plant height (cm) 6 weeks after plant ,broccoli stem diameter (mm) 6 weeksafter plant, number of leaves of broccoli plants (strands) 6 weeks after plant , fresh weight perbroccoli plant sample (g), selling fresh weight per broccoli plant sample (g) and the amount ofbroccoli chlorophylls was different significantly affected against chicken manure but nonsignificantly affect againts fungi phosphate solvent and both interactions.Keywords :Chicken Manure, Fungi Phosphate Solvent, Broccoli

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to determine the growth response of oil palm seed on waste market compost and Npkmg (15:15:6:4) fertilize aplication in pre nursery. The research was conducted atthe experimental field Agricultural Faculty, Sumatera Utara University about ± 25 metres above sealevel from April to July 2014. The design use randomized block design with 2 factors treatment.The first factor was The waste market compost with 4 levels: 0 g/polybag (K);50 g/polybag  (K1); 100 g/polybag (K2); 150 g/polybag (K) and the second factor was NPKMg (15:15:6:4)fertilizer with 4 levels: 0 g/polybag (P03); 2,5 g/polybag (P1); 5 g/polybag (P) and                         7,5g/polybag(P32). The results showed that the waste market compost treatment has significantly effectto the plant height, total wide leaf, dry weight root and soil pH , however no significantly affectedfor, stem diameter, leaf number, length of the root, fresh weight of crown, dry weight of crown, andfresh weight of root. The NPKMg (15:15:6:4) fertilize treatment showed significant effect to stemdiameter, total wide leaf, fresh weight of crown and dry weight of crown however no significantlyaffected for plant height, leaf number, lenght of the root, fresh weight of root, dry weight of rootand soil pH. The interaction of both of treatmet showed significan for the plant height and totalwide leaf. Keywords: Oil palm, waste market compost, NPKMg (15:15:6:4) fertilizers. 0

Abstract

The research was held from July - November 2014, used randomized block design with three factors addition of tithonia compost (0, 10, and 20 ton/ha) and two varieties (Kawali and Numbu). Parameters measured were plant height,the number of leaves , flowering time, weight of panicle seed per sample, weight of panicle seed per plot, yield per sample, yield per plot, and 1000 grains weight. The result showed that compost doesn’t affected significantly on all of parameters. Varieties affected significantly on plant height, the number of leaves, flowering time, yield per sample, yield per plot, and 1000 grains weight. There  were not any interaction between compost and variety on all parameters. The best result was found in the combination of 10 kg tithonia compost and numbu variety. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to found out the influence of storage period and diameter stump on stump rubber growth. This research was conducted at experimental field of Agriculture Faculty, University of North Sumatera, Medan, in april until august 2015, using randomized block design with two factors, i.e storage period (0,5,10,15,20 days) and diameter of stump (1.6-2.0 cm, 2.1-2.5cm, 2.6-3.0 cm). Parameters observed were percentage of grow, time of break bud, height of bud, diameter of bud, amount of leaf, total leaf area, root length, root dried weight and shoot dried weight. The result showed that the storage period significantly affected on percentage of grow, diameter of bud, amount of leaf, total leaf area and root length. While the treatment diameter of stump significantly affected on percentage of grow and root length. The interaction of two factor significantly affected on percentage of grow and root length.Keywords : stump rubber, storage period, diameter of stump

Abstract

One way to increase the production of dragon fruit is the provide of quality seeds. Used of coconut water, cow urine, and goat urine which is contains the hormone auxin that could potentially increase the growth of seedlings. This research was conducted in Agriculture Faculty University of Sumatra Utara with a height ± 25 m above sea level, which is held in May until July 2015. The research used randomized block design with 2 factors, namely, the type comprised a natural auxin of coconut water, cow urine, goat urine and concentration consisting of 0,25,50,75 and 100% were repeated three times. continiued analyzed used analysis of variance followed by Duncans Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at 5%. The result showed that the type of natural auxin has significantly effect against age emerged shoots and shoots height 30 DAP. The concentration of natural auxin significantly effect against emerged shoots, shoot height 30, 45 DAP, and dry weight of shoots. Interaction between types of natural auxin and concentration has significantly effect against age emerged shoots, and height shoots 30 DAP.Key word : type of natural auxin, concentration of natural auxin. cut dragon fruit
