Abstract

Worms is a worm infestation of one or more intestinal parasites consisting of intestinal nematodes class. Including transmission through soil or worm species commonly called the Soil Transmitted Helminths (STH) are Ascaris lumbricoides, Trichuris trichuira, Ancylostoma duodenale and Necator americanus. The purpose of this study analyzes the factors that influence the incidence of worm craftsman tiles and bricks in the Village Karanggeneng Boyolali. This research is quantitative, with cross sectional approach. These samples included 88 respondents obtained by simple random sampling technique. Data collection techniques were interviews, observation (observation) and laboratory testing. Analysis of the data in this study using Fisher's Exact test and Multiple Logistic Regression Test. Results of the study found no effect on knowledge variable (p = 0.007), handwashing (p = 0.003), latrine ownership (p = 0.001) on the incidence of intestinal worms in the village Karanggeneng Boyolali. The most influential variable in this study is the latrine ownership variable with OR = 0.406.

Abstract

Instrumen penilaian yang digunakan di sekolah SMA Negeri 1 Krangkeng belum berorientasi pada keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Hakikat dari biologi, tujuan pendidikan nasional dan perkembangan jaman menuntut keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis instrumen penilaian di sekolah, mengembangkan instrumen penilaian untuk mengukur keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi, dan menguji efektivitas serta kepraktisan instrumen. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Research and development. Prosedur pengembangan produk melalui tahap penelitian pendahuluan dan pengembangan. Pada tahap pendahuluan terbagi menjadi dua, yaitu studi lapangan dan studi literatur. Tahap pengembangan, melalui beberapa bagian, yaitu 1) menyusun jenis instrumen, 2) validasi ke pakar, 3) ujicoba skala terbatas dan 4) ujicoba skala luas. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah jenis instrumen yang digunakan di sekolah memiliki tingkatan taksonomi kognitif C1 sampai C2, kadang digunakan C3. Instrumen penilaian yang dikembangkan adalah tes esai analisis, lembar performa berpikir, dan tes problem solving. Instrumen dinyatakan valid, reliabel, dan praktis. Instrumen juga berpengaruh positif terhadap hasil belajar kognitif. The type of assessment instruments used in the school were not oriented toward higher-order thinking skills. The nature of biology, national education goals and challenges of science and technology development of thinking skills require more than just the basic thinking. The purposes of this study were: 1) to analyze the assessment instruments used in the school, 2) to develop assessment instruments used to measure higher-order thinking skills, and 3) to test the effectiveness and practicality of the instrument. The type of study was Research and development. The procedure of product development were the preliminary research and development. In the preliminary research, the study was divided into two stages, they are the field of study, and literature study. The development stage started by constructing the type of instruments, validation of the expert,  limited testing  and extensive testing. The results of this study showed that the type of instruments used in the school were  in the range of cognitive taxonomy of C1 and C2 and sometimes used the C3 and concept-oriented. Assessment instrument developed were essay anlysis test, the sheet of students’ thinking performance, and problem solving test. The instruments were declared valid, reliable, and practical. The instruments were declared effective because it  showed positive impact on learning outcomes.

Abstract

Bactrocera fruit flies are important pests which attack many kinds of fruit. The aims of this study were identifying the diversity index and parasitoid of Bactrocera in some fruits attacked in Bandungan Market, Semarang Regency. The are eight kinds of fruit used in this study ie; mango, guava, rose-apple, star fruit, peppers, jackfruit, oranges, and tomatoes. Rotten fruit were brought to the laboratory, Bactrocera were reared until imago and examined the diversity of species and the parasitoids. Five types of them are positive containing  Bactrocera  inside the fruit; mango, guava, rose-apple, and star fruit. There are two species of Bactrocera found, they are Bactrocera carambolae and Bactrocera papaye. The level of diversity of fruit flies was low  (0,11). Bactrocera carambolae  more dominan than Bactrocera papaye. The Bactrocera composition similarity was 75%. Parasitoids found  in this study are Fopius arisanus and Opius dichasmimorpha.

Abstract

The soil was a place which plants and various organisms live. One of the soil organisms that plays an important role as agents of biological control of parasitic nematodes of insects, was known by entomopathogenic nematodes (ENP’s). The aims of this research was analyzing the population density and patterns spread of the entomopathogenic nematodes on overgrown annuals land, overgrown perennial land, non-vegetation land and ranch land. The experimental design used in this study was a randomized design group. The technique of determining location using purposive sampling. Soil samples were taken at four location with eight replicates. The research was held in August-October 2013. The ENP’s of land obtained by the technique of baiting using Tenebrio molitor. The result showed that ENP’s population density was found from ranch land was 67.411 tail/mL. It was higher than the ENP’s population density on non-vegetation land was 15.199 tail/mL. The statistics Mann Whitney showing absence of difference density of populations ENP’s. A pattern to scatter nematode entomopathogen on some land widely distributed in clumped.

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the model of empowering dry land farmers in Central Java, the actors involved, the constraints faced, the impact and level of effectiveness. The study used two approaches: qualitative and quantitative approaches. In the qualitative approach, data were analyzed by using an interactive model. While the quantitative approach carried out by using the cost and benefit analysis. In the qualitative approach, data were analyzed by using an interactive model. While the quantitative approach conducted by using the cost and benefit analysis. The results showed that CSR was done through the assistance of technical consultants by applying concept "one product one village"; institutions involved include SOEs (State-Owned Enterprises), the Provincial Government, Local Government, Village Government, Private Companies and Community. The external constraints that happen came from cultural differences of government and private organizations as well as the existence of unpredictable extreme weather. Meanwhile the internal constraints derived from the knowledge level of farmers; ROI calculation result showed that the planting of horticulture commodities was profitable.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian ini melatih petugas KSM Pasar Sampangan Baru mengolah sampah organik menjadi kompos atau pupuk organik. Ada dua kelompok mitra yaitu: pertama kelompok para pedagang khususnya pedagang sayur mayur, setiap hari meraka menghasilkan sampah organik dan non organik. Mereka berjumlah kurang lebih 75 pedagang. Kelompok kedua adalah pengolah sampah organik, sebanyak tiga orang. Metode pengabdian masyarakat sebagai berikut: sosialisasi dan koordinasi pihak terkait, menyediakan rumah kompos, pengadaan alat & bahan, pelatihan pembuatan pupuk kompos, pengolahan sampah organik secara rutin. Hasil yang diperoleh: KSM Pasar Sampangan Baru sudah mengolah sampah organik pasar menjadi pupuk kompos dan produk sudah dijual.Kata kunci: limbah sayur mayur; kompos; Pasar Sampangan Baru

Ketertarikan Bactrocera carambolae (Diptera: Tephritidae) pada Berbagai Limbah yang Mengandung Protein

Abstract

There were ten processed wastes (molase, vinase, sludge, ciu, brem, tofu, milk, cacao, fish, and beer) used in these experiments. The experiments were conducted in two separated arrangements: no choice test and choice test. The no choice test was carried by testing the attractiveness of B. carambolae on each waste was compared with water. Each run consisted of four replication, for each replication consisted of 20 females and 20 males. The choice test was conducted by placing all wastes in a cage at the same time. Each run consisted of 15 replication, for each replication consisted of 100 females dan 100 males. The no choice test results showed that B. carambolae tend to visit waste more than water. The choice test results showed that B. carambolae tend to be more frequent visits to beer and cocoa waste. The content of protein inside the waste seemed to play role in attracting B. carambolae to come with.  Ada sepuluh olahan limbah [molase, vinase, lumpur (sludge), ciu, brem, tahu, susu, kakao, ikan dan bir] yang digunakan pada percobaan ini. Percobaan dilakukan dalam dua perlakuan terpisah: uji tertutup dan uji terbuka. Uji tertutup dilakukan dengan menguji daya tarik B. carambolae pada setiap limbah dibandingkan dengan air. Tiap uji diulang empat kali, setiap ulangan terdiri dari 20 betina dan 20 jantan. Tes terbuka dilakukan dengan menempatkan semua limbah dalam sangkar pada waktu yang sama. Tiap uji diulang 15 ulangan, setiap ulangan terdiri dari 100 betina dan 100 jantan. Hasil pengujian tertutup menunjukkan bahwa B. carambolae cenderung lebih banyak mendatangi limbah dari pada air. Hasil pengujian terbuka menunjukkan bahwa B. carambolae cenderung lebih banyak mendatangi limbah bir dan kakao. Kandungan protein dalam limbah itu tampaknya memainkan peran dalam menarik B. carambolae untuk datang.

EVALUASI KELAYAKAN ALAT PERAGA TIGA DIMENSI YANG DIHASILKAN PADA PELATIHAN KEWIRAUSAHAAN

Abstract

Pelatihan membuat alat peraga biologi tiga dimensi ini bertujuanuntuk: (a) praktek pembuatan alat peraga tiga dimensi berbasis biologi pada materi embriologi hewan meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam bidang kewirausahaan dengan berkreasi menciptakan alat peraga tiga dimensi berbasis biologi dan (b) dan (c) analisis kelayakan alat peraga oleh pakar materi. Kegiatan dilakukan menggunakan metode pemaparan materi dan praktek langsung di laboratorium Perkembangan hewan Jurusan Biologi. Untuk mengetahui apakah kegiatan ini mampu meningkatkan kompetensi mahasiswa dalam kewirausahaan, dilakukan penelitian sederhana menggunakan metode survei terhadap tanggapan peserta setelah pelatihan. Untuk mengetahui kelayakan alat peraga yang dibuat, dilakukan evaluasi kelayakan oleh pakar materi menggunakan lembar validasi. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif. Dari hasil data tanggapan peserta sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan, diketahui bahwa sebanyak 80% peserta pelatihan menyatakan berminat mengaplikasikan ketrampilan ini dalam kegiatan PPL, KKN dan atau penyusunan skripsi. Sebanyak 65% peserta menyatakan berminat memanfaatkan ketrampilannya sebagai alternatif berwirausaha dan 70% menyatakan optimis alat peraga semacam ini jika ditekuni akan mampu bersaing dipasaran. Meskipun produk yang dihasilkan dalam pelatihan masih terdapat kelemahan dan kekurangan, akan tetapi secara umum hasilnya layak untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai alat peraga dalam pembelajaran. Hasil evaluasi pakar materi diperoleh bahwa 80% produk yang dihasilkan layak digunakan untuk pembelajaran dengan kategori sesuai/baik, sedangkan 20% yang lain kurang sesuai. Abstract

Materi pembelajaran bermuatan SETS dan model pembelajaran PBL dapat digunakan untuk memecahkan permasalahan ekologi dan meningkatkan pemahaman materi ekologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan validitas, kepraktisan, dan efektivitas bahan ajar serta mendiskripsikan karakteristik bahan ajar yang dikembangkan. Metode  penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan (research and development). Desain penelitian uji coba skala luas menggunakan pretest-posttest control group design dan posttest-only control design. Hasil validasi bahan ajar yang dilakukan oleh ahli pendidikan, ahli materi dan praktisi pendidikan dengan rata-rata nilainya 91,67 (amat baik). Kepraktisan bahan ajar menurut siswa sebesar 91,00 (sangat baik) dan menurut guru sebesar 98,50 (sangat baik). Berdasarkan hasil belajar kognitif, sikap dan keterampilan modul yang dikembangkan efektif. Karakteristik modul ekologi hasil pengembangan yaitu materinya diawali dengan permasalahan sehari-hari yang ada disekitar kita. Permasalahan ditutup dengan pertanyaan yang mengarahkan ke pemahaman tentang SETS. Hasil belajar kelas kontrol dan kelas perlakuan terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan, baik pada penilaian kognitif, sikap dan keterampilan. T Learning materials contain SETS and PBL learning model can be used to solve the problems of ecology and to increase the understanding of ecological materials. This research is aimed to determine the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of learning materials and to describe the characteristics of the developed learning materials. The research method is a research and development. Design of large scale trials using a pretest-posttest control group design and posttest-only control design.The results of the validation materials made by education experts, materials expert and practitioners of education have average mark of 91.67. The practicality of materials according to the students of 91.00 and according to the teachers of 98.50. Based on the resuts of cognitive learning, attitudes and skills of developed modules, it works effectively. Characteristics of ecological module from that development is that the material is staryed from daily life problems around us. The issue is closed with a question leading to an understanding of the SETS. The results of study control class and experiment occurs a significant difference, both on the cognitive assessment, attitudes and skills.

Abstract

Perangkat pembelajaran materi pencemaran lingkungan yang terdapat di SMA Negeri 1 SoE masih belum dikembangkan secara baik, menyebabkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa menjadi rendah dan menurunnya hasil belajar siswa kelas X. Disebabkan materi pencemaran lingkungan masih bersifat abstrak dan belum mengarah kepada pemahaman konsep. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran bermodelkan example non example berorientasi pada kemampuan berpikir kritis dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian Research and Development (R&D) dan pengujiannya menggunakan metode eksperimen. Teknik analisa data meliputi uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, uji kevalidan, uji ketuntasan hasil belajar. Penelitian ini dikembangkan perangkat pembelajaran bermodelkan example non example meliputi silabus, Rencana Pelaksanaan pembelajaran (RPP), bahan ajar, Lembar Kerja Siswa (LKS) dan alat evaluasi, yang divalidasi validator ahli untuk mengetahui validitas, reliabilitas perangkat pembelajaran. Untuk memperoleh data pelengkap dikembangkan instrumen yaitu lembar observasi kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, lembar angket afektif siswa, respon guru dan siswa. Hasil pengembangan pembelajaran bermodelkan example non example yang valid dan inovatif. Pada kelas eksperimen 1 kemampuan berpikir kritis lebih baik dibandingkan kelas eksperimen 2. Respon guru 92,5% dan siswa 96,16% dengan kriteria baik sekali. Hasil belajar sesuai Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal (KKM) kedua kelas eksperimen, sebesar 77,7% dan 88,8% artinya pembelajaran dilakukan secara tuntas. The lesson plan of environment pollution in SMA Negeri 1 SoE, had been not developed well because environmental pollution especially in the school environment was still abstract and  in teaching learning process did not lead the students to understand the concept of pollution itself .It was the reason why the achievement of X.1 students were still low because the students did not have the critical thinking ability. The objective of  the research is produce instrument learning model example non example oriented on students outcome and critical thinking ability. The research design Research and Development (R&D) and  use experimental method. This objective study was to develop a learning model example non example includes syllabus, Lesson Plan, teaching materials, students worksheet (LKS) and evaluation tools, which have been validated  by a validator experts to determine the validity and reliability of the learning device. To obtain supplementary data developed instruments which are; observation sheet of the students critical thinking skills, students’ affective questionnaire sheet, teachers and students response. The result of this study showed that example non example model was valid and innovative. In the first experimental class showed that the critical thinking skills better than the second experimental class. Learning modeled example non example also provided a response to the teachers was 92.5% and 96.16% of students with excellent criteria. The result of the study showed that first experimental class gained 77,7% and the second  experimental class gained 88.8%. It means that both classes passed the Minimum Mastery Criterion (KKM).
