Abstract

Kalibanteng Intersection is one of primary node in west part of Semarang City. It is a signalized intersection which shaped roundabout. It lies on the truck track from west to east of Java Island, which is crossed over by Flyover Yos Sudarso – Siliwangi and Flyover Sudirman – Siliwangi. Formerly, the flyover is designed for Siliwangi – Yos Sudarso vice versa. The flyover could decrease truck volume from east to west, on the contrary heavy vehicle movement is still overburden Kalibanteng Intersection capacity. On 2018, it is planned that Ahmad Yani Airport access road will be diverted. Thus, it is important to increase Kalibanteng Intersection performance, and accommodate the airport access divertion plan at a time. This research is aimed to identify the existing movement pattern at Kalibanteng Intersection, to evaluate the existing signalized intersection performance, to develop a simulation of two way management on Kalibanteng Flyover, to analyze the movement pattern due to the implementation of two way management on the flyover, and to analyze the signalized intersection due to this management. The results show that the highest movements in Kalibanteng Intersection are the movement from Siliwangi to Yos Sudarso (which is dominated by heavy vehicle) and from Siliwangi to Sudirman (which isi dominated by light vehicle and motorcycle), and will keep on increasing in the future. These movement greatly contribute on intersection performance. This shows that the utilization of the flyover for two-way movement can be considered with mode type limitation. Using two-way flyover, the performance of Kalibanteng signalized intersection will increase.

Abstract

Nowadays the progress of Semarang city is getting rapid, many shop centers rises in Tugu Muda area. Most of people use their car or motorbike to do their activities through those streets. This condition caused the higher mobility each year and makes parking lots become important thing in transportation system. The necessary of parking lot should be available, The bigger traffic volume makes bigger necessary of parking lot. If it does not enough, cars may take the spaces beside of road to park, and this caused some disruptions to others. Redesigning the park design focused on one the biggest traditional market in Semarang one of them is Bulu market at Mgr Soegijapranoto street. The method used in this redesign is plat matching method for data retrieval parking , Linier regretion method and the queuing theory to data processing and the parking design. Primary data that is required in this analysis is parking duration, and service system. And for the secondary data required the amount of vehicles out – vehicles in at the market, the amount of traders at the market, the amount of resident at each subdistricts of Semarang city, and area of the market. The conclusion, the parking lot design, 117 SRP to car and 502 SRP to motorcycle, can provide the customers need in parking at the market. The design can be predicted that it will be resisted in five years based on growing ratio between city parking lot and Bulu market parking lot.

Abstract

Western Region of Semarang beside as center of business, it also as the center of public services so at the peak period the volume of vehicle in some road getting increase. The increase of vehicle’s volume will cause traffic jam. Roads with the traffic jam potential is Sugiyopranoto, Imam Bonjol, and Pemuda. Then the idea of one way traffic management proposed with the purpose to determine the traffic performance at existing condition and provide a recommendation about the better traffic regulation. Observation such as traffic survey has been done on roads and intersections in road network in the west region of Semarang. Analysis of traffic performance based on Indonesia’s Highway Capacity Manual (IHCM) 1997 with an analysis of existing saturated conditions at peak hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening as a benchmark for short-term design. One way traffic management that applied are the change of green time at the signalized intersection, the route, traffic diversion by the application of the one way traffic chain on the road network, traffic facilities, and geometric. The analysis result of roads and intersection in the region shows the performance with degree of saturation >0,75. The ideal limit is ≤ 0,75. The result of the intersection analysis also showed unsatisfactory performance. The degree of saturation is high and delay time of intersection still large.so the one way traffic management applied on the Sugiyopranoto road, the entire segment of Imam Bonjol Road, The entire segment of Pemuda road, and Pierre Tendean road. The intersection changes is by removing the signal of Poncol intersection and Tendean intersection. Several signal at Tugumuda intersection suchas signal from Sugiyopranoto, signal from Pemuda, and the signal in front of Sutomo also removed. The results of the analysis for one-way condition showed better performance. The traffic flow is also distributed optimally. The based parameter is the change of speed and pace time that can be felt directly by road users. The design for the implementation of one-way traffic system can be said good for the treatment of short-term problems. The conclusion that can be drawn is the performance of roads and intersections in the West Region Semarang get better when applied to one-way traffic management.

Abstract

Soedarto Roundabout is an icon of Engineering Faculty Complex in Diponegoro University. Tis roundabout becomes a potential location for traffic violations, as it is shifted from the existing junction. Some travellers use it as a shortcut route therefore the traffic performance decrease. Thus, it is necessary to design some alternatives to increase the performance and traffic order. This study aims to identify the traffic characteristics in roundabout area, design some alternatives of intersection management, and determine the best alternative proposal. The quantitative method used in performance analysis of roundabout and the surrounding road network is based on Indonesian Highway Capacity Manual (MKJI, 1997). The qualitative method used is the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) Method. The result shows that traffic order level in this area is quite low, due to many violations caused by the shortcut movements. The number of violation increase in off-peak time. The Degree of Saturation value (DS) of Soedarto Roundabout is 0.88, and the DS of Peternakan Intersection is 0,93. Three alternatives of intersection management in Soedarto Roundabout Area are the change of roundabout and median geometric into priority intersection, chanelization, and roundabout blocking. The quantitative analysis shows that the performance of the third alternative is quite good, with the DS of weaving area between Soedarto Roundabout and Peternakan Junction is 0.70, and the DS of Peternakan Junction is 0.83 (after extended). Thus, the qualitative analysis using AHP shows that the third alternative is the best.

Abstract

Semarang - Kendal Road section is a connector between the central city of Semarang and Kendal. Traffic flows and accident rates through this street is quite high, especially accidents involving motorcycles. For that, the solution is the implementation of motorcycle lanes. From the analysis results DS in Siliwangi Road Sections is 0,75 and 0,78 in Walisongo Roads with low average speed is 27,58 km /h in Jalan Siliwangi. Analysis results obtained Siliwangi Road motorcycle accident is 70 % and 66 % on Walisongo Road. The proportion of motorcycle on Siliwangi road is 25.25 % - 41.66 % and 18.86 % - 41.43 % on Walisongo Road. Volume motorcycle in Siliwangi Road 1,687 pcu/hour and Walisongo Road 1,231 pcu/hour. Siliwangi Road DS is 0.75 and 0.78 on Walisongo Road. From solutions then selected by the best alternative with DS. Siliwangi road is divided into 4 segments, Segment I is to make the motorcycle lane with a width of 4 m and the other vehicle lane with a width of 8 m. Segment II is to make the motorcycle lane with a width of 4,25 m and the other vehicle lane with a width of 9,75 m. Segment III, this does not allow the roads to be made motorcycle lane because the road has a length of less than 100 m. Segment IV is to make the motorcycle lane with a width of 4 m and the other vehicle lane with a width of 7 m. In the Walisongo roads solution is to makes the motorcycle lane with a width of 4 m, and the other vehicle lane with a width of 7 m. Based on those motorcycle lanes parameters, can be concluded that the Semarang - Kendal Road section required motorcycle lanes with lane separators are markers.

Abstract

Malioboro as one of  most tourism destination in Yogyakarta has a large number of visitors.  More than 4,000 people visiting  Malioboro area per day. The number of visitors at  pedestrian area  resulting inability Malioboro to receive such capacity. For  resolve these problems,  an  evaluation  of the service is needed more pedestrian capacity  (level of service). so that visitors will know about Malioboro growth in the future. and  The reference can being recommendation  as handling problems that occur at Malioboro street. The survey  undertaken are pedestrian  survey. Pedestrian survey is aimed to obtain  number of tourists data  in Malioboro pedestrians . The survey were conducted in three-point locations who can represent characters of  Malioboro, in front of the Hotel Inna Garuda,  Malioboro Mall and  Sami Jaya. The analysis is carried out to the HCM 2000. The result  of pedestrian survey are  Level of Service value. Base on the parking income data the growth rate of pedestrian area is about 5.2% . in the next five years the Level of Service will be bad with Level of service D. this mean there is a crowded situation in pedestrian area. overcome these problems we need  rearrangement pedestrian area  along Malioboro street  and make a planning analysis to resolve this issue hopefully can accommodating  Malioboro area for next 5 years in Pedestrian area with  Level of Service (LOS) B.

Abstract

Rembang Municipality currently shows significant development in various sectors that predicted will increase travel distribution caused by enormous trip generation and attraction. This condition will impact on the performance of Pantura as a national road network, mainly the segment that pass through this area. Therefore, it is necessary to evaluate the performance of some links and signalized intersections as part of Pantura in Rembang as well as provide suggestions to resolve the problem. The analysis of road and signalized intersections performance refers MKJI 1997, while the proposed treatment refers to Rembang Municipality’s Regional and Spatial Planning Document (RTRW) 2011 - 2031. The result showed that the values of DS in 2013 are 0.486, 0.848, 0.713 and 0.324 respectively at Kaliori Segment, Kartini Park Intersection, Lasem Mosque Intersection and Sluke Segment. The cycle time at each intersection is resetted and the LTOR rule is not applicable in order to improve the intersection performance before the future performance prediction analysis undertaken. In 2020, the number lanes on Sluke should be add up from 2/2 UD (DS = 0.849) to 6/2 D (DS = 0.330). The construction of Rembang Urban Ring Roads in 2016-2020 could be decrease the DS value at Kartini Park Intersection in  2021 (DS = 0.669), but in 2028 the DS has reached 0.909. Therefore, the trafiic signal phase must be adjusted to decline DS value to 0,462 in 2021 and 0,676 in 2028. The Lasem Urban Ring Road in 2024 decrease DS value at Lasem Mosque Intersection to 0,667 thus 0,807 in 2028. After the Rembang Outer Ring Road and Rembang Urban Ring Road officially open for public, the DS of Kaliori Segment and Kartini Park Intersection could be decrease upto 0.687 and 0,517 respectively. According to Rembang Municipality’s Regional and Spatial Planning Document, the Rembang Outer Ring Road will be operationalized in 2026 and the Lasem Urban Ring Road in 2024. However, this research suggest that this plan should be rescheduled to 2019 for Rembang Outer Ring Road and 2021 for Lasem Urban Ring Road.

Abstract

Pendidikan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan pokok manusia modern. Dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan  akan pendidikan khususnya pendidikan formal, terjadilah pergerakan untuk mencapai sekolah ataupun  kampus yang ada. Pergerakan sendiri membutuhkan moda angkutan sebagai sarana untuk bergerak.  Pemilihan moda angkutan bervariasi berdasarkan tingkat kepuasan yang ditawarkan tiap moda angkutan.  Studi ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik pengguna, karakteristik pergerakan, dan karakteristik  fasilitas moda angkutan mahasiswa menuju kampus, serta membuat model pemilihan moda angkutan  mahasiswa menuju kampus antara sepeda motor dan angkutan umum.Lokasi penelitian yaitu universitas dan perguruan tinggi di wilayah Kecamatan Lowokwaru Kota  Malang. Universitas dan perguruan tinggi tersebut adalah :Universitas Brawijaya, Universitas Negeri  Malang, Institut Teknologi Nasional, Universitas Islam Malang, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Universitas  Gajayana Malang dan Universitas Islam Negeri Malang. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode  wawancara dalam bentuk kuisioner yang disebarkan pada mahasiswa. Analisis data yang digunakan  adalah statistik deskriptif dan model binary logistik karena hanya ada dua pilihan alternatif moda dalam  studi ini yaitu angkutan umum dan sepeda motor.

Abstract

Data kecelakaan lalu lintas dari Polwiltabes Surabaya memperlihatkan bahwa tingkat kecelakaan pada Ruas Jalan Ahmad Yani adalah yang tertinggi jika dibandingkan dengan ruas jalan lainnya yang memiliki kesamaan dalam klasifikasi menurut fungsi sebagai jalan arteri primer dan jalan nasional. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahui karakteristik kecelakaan serta penanganan yang diperlukan pada lokasi rawan kecelakaan di ruas jalan ini. Tahapan dalam penelitian ini antara lain analisis karakteristik kecelakaan lalu lintas, dilanjutkan dengan penentuan lokasi rawan kecelakaan, dengan parameter tingkat kecelakaan dan nilai EAN yang selanjutnya dilakukan audit keselamatan jalan pada lokasi rawan kecelakaan. Berdasarkan analisis karakteristik diperoleh gambaran bahwa faktor penyebab kecelakaan yang dominan pada ruas jalan tersebut adalah faktor manusia (83%). Kecelakaan paling sering terjadi pada Hari Senin (20%) pukul 06.00-11.59 (32%). Tipe tabrakan yang dominan terjadi yaitu tabrak samping (43%). Pengendara sepeda motor merupakan pengguna jalan yang sering terlibat dalam kecelakaan (60%), hal ini karena populasinya yang lebih besar dibandingkan pengguna jalan lainnya. Berdasarkan kondisi korban kecelakaan, urutan dari yang tertinggi adalah korban luka ringan (67%). Beberapa upaya peningkatan keselamatan di lokasi rawan kecelakaan adalah dengan pembuatan fasilitas rumble strip mendekati area zebra cross, pemasangan pagar pengaman pada bahu jalan, pemasangan rambu batas kecepatan di beberapa lokasi khusus, pengecatan marka, serta penyeragaman lebar bahu.

Abstract

Ibis Hotel and Candi Land Apartment located at Diponegoro street currently are built into the new residential alternative in Semarang. This will trigger trip generation in the future, thus will increase congestion in the area. Therefore, it is important to assess the impact of the hotel and apartement operations. This study aims to predict the trip generation, evaluate the performance of the existing road network, predict the performance of the network after the operation of Ibis Hotel and Candi Land Apartment and propose the solutions to encounter the conditions. Analyses of the performance of segments, signalized intersection and roundabout refer to IHCM 1997. Trip generation prediction of hotel and apartment refer to Department of Transportation regulation. Based on the analysis, Ibis Hotel and Candi Land Apartment trip generation amounted to 341 pcu/hour. The existing degree of saturation (DS) of the nearest road segments are 1.40 on Sriwijaya street, 1.64 on Diponegoro street, 1.00 on Veteran street, 0.57 on Pahlawan street, 0.85 on Kawi street, 0.84 on Sultan Agung street, and 1.55 on S. Parman street. The degree of saturation of Pahlawan intersection is 1.92 (North). Thus, the degree of saturation of Diponegoro Park roundabout is 1,00 (CD inweave Diponegoro street – Kawi street). After the operation of Ibis Hotel and Candi Land Apartment, the degree of saturation of Pahlawan intersection will increase up to 6,97%. The Degree os saturation of Diponegoro Park roundabout will also increase for about 5,12%. The proposed solution on Pahlawan intersection are to make Veteran street a one way road leaving the intersection and reset the green time. This treatment will decrease the degree of saturation up to 21 – 32 %. The proposed solution on the nearest road segments are to widen the road segments that cause a decrease on the degree of saturation for about 17-31%. Whilst, the proposed solution for Diponegoro Roundabout is to give road signs which are expected to reduce conflict on the weaving area.
