Abstract

Silk is a industrial product originated from agriculture. This product is important in the national economy. Garut District is one of central area of silk production in Indonesia. Silk produced in Garut is populer among foreign tourists, especially tourists from Netherland, Germany and Japan. The objective is evaluating comparative and competitive advantages of silk products produced in Garut. It is also designed to determine the impact of changes in input and output prices of silk on its comparative and competitive advantage of silk products produced in Garut. This study reveals that silk products of Garut has both comparative and competitive advantage. However, if wage rate and fuel price increase by 15 % and 50 % respectively, the products have no more competitive, but comparative advantage. To improve its competitiveness, agribusiness approach should be integrated into the silk industry.

Abstract

Raskin program is the government’s attempt to relax economic burden which poor families face by giving them a certain amount of subsidized-price rice (raskin). In effort to improve the program’s performance, recently the government introduced new concept for the distribution of raskin. By this new concept, the distribution of raskin would be through rural kiosks, not through village-level government network as used to be. Before institutionalized as an alternative for the conventional one, the new concept was tested in some pilot projects located in several provinces, including in West Java Province. Based on the field work in this province, this study concluded that the new concept could improve the program’s performances, especially with regard to quantity and price correctness. It was also found that villagers and local government apparatuses were in support for its implementation. However, it is necessary for the government to monitor and evaluate its implementation on a regular base and to develop a system of governance at village level to assure its good performance. It is also necessary to give a more attractive amount of fee for the owners of kiosk to ensure their commitment to support the program.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to examine the influence of organizational leadership behaviors and environmental turbulence moderator on employee retention. A survey was used to collect data from various publicly listed companies in the Greater Area of Jakarta. The survey measured the perceptions on organizational leadership behaviors and business environmental turbulence. The survey questionnaire on organizational leadership behaviors was from Yukl’s model and the questionnaire on environmental turbulence was from Ansoff’s model. Fifty two questionnaires were collected by using purposive sampling technique. The Moderated Multiple Linear Regression Analysis was used for analyzing the data. The results showed that the Relations Oriented Behaviors was found to have significant positive relationship with the Employee Retention. The Environmental Turbulence significantly moderated the Relations Oriented Behaviors and affected the Employee Retention positively.   Keywords: Organizational Leadership, Environmental Turbulence, Employee Retention

Indonesia Sugar Indonesia experiences declining trend since year early 1930 until thisrecent years. Abstract

Di Indonesia industri otomotif merupakan salah satu industri yang menyumbangkan pajak terbesar bagi pemerintah Indonesia. Saat ini industri otomotif Indonesia berkembang sangat cepat dan signifikan, dan dalam beberapa tahun ke depan diprediksikan akan menjadi yang terbesar di Asia Tenggara, menggeser posisi Thailand yang selama ini menjadi pemimpin pasar. Meskipun industri otomotif ini demikian pesat perkembangannya dan banyak menarik investor asing, sayangnya belum banyak penelitian yang mengkaji faktor-faktor apa saja yang menjadi kunci sukses industri ini di Indonesia. Mengingat bahwa industri ini merupakan industri yang bersifat technology-driven, dengan sistem produksi yang telah berkelas dunia dan infrastuktur manajemen lainnya yang saling mendukung, perlu dikaji selain faktor sistem produksi, faktor apa lagi yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja organisasi pada industri ini. Dengan mempertimbangkan bahwa kehebatan suatu sistem produksi tidak dapat dilepaskan dari sumber daya manusia yang menciptakan, mengatur, menjalankan dan mengontrol sistem tersebut, maka tujuan utama dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terhadap peningkatan kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia. Penelitian dilakukan pada dua perusahaan otomotif milik Jepang di Indonesia, dan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aspek pengelolaan sumber daya manusia terbukti berpengaruh positif secara langsung dan signifikan terhadap kinerja organisasi di industri otomotif di Indonesia.

Abstract

Potential weaving industry nationally as one of the SMEs so far have not unearthed the maximum due to the development of production management systems. Therefor,  PT Retota Sakti has prompted company management to enhance the creative abilities tenunnya always accompanied by the application of more precise marketing strategies that correspond with the development of competition situation that occurred in the weaving industry. The purpose of this study was (1) Identify and evaluate the position of Marketing PT Retota Way by internal and external factors, and (2) Develop appropriate marketing strategies in developing future business. Analyzed in a descriptive study to emphasize the aspect of marketing, covering demand products to meet market needs; offer, which gives an overview about the availability of products in the process of cultivation and the balance of factors between demand and supply prices. To examine the marketing strategies carried out by quantitative SWOT analysis. The results of factor identification strategy, there are five key factors of internal strengths and weaknesses of four key factors. While the external environment there are five key factors of opportunities and threats of five factors. IFE values ​​2.842 and 2.530 EFE value, and also the combination of these two values ​​in the matrix IE indicates that the marketing strategy lies in the quadrant of five, namely the growth and stability, where the strategies that can run the market penetration, product development and market. QSP matrix analysis results obtained with the most attractive strategy to be implemented is to increase production capacity.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a situational analysis of organization culture (OC). The analysis cover management process and its changing in Central Bank, including direction and substance of OC, developing ideal models, methods, dynamic change and its management. Awareness about the importance of OC in improving the performance of the organization had been recognized by management of The Central Bank in the surface, but when examined the dynamics of the changes, the implementation seem fluctuated.During this research, the values which adopted for this organization are competence, integrity, transparency, accountability, and cohesiveness. In the implementation, there are two main issues: (1) the belief that these values are match with organization need and (2) misunderstanding in implementation at the level of units. Research has not attempt to answer the solution of these two main issues yet. However, this study try to uncover the main problem of changes in OC. This paper using combination of several methods: survey, focus group discussion (FGD), statistics of secondary data, and structured in depth interviews. This study have found that The Central Bank conduct rapid change in the beginning of transformation. However, after 3 years, the change slow down, reducing the commitment and lack of confident both the substance of OC and the change method as well.   Keywords: Organization Culture, Central Bank, Situational Analysis

Abstract

The impact of energy and food security credits (KKPE) to the cattle farming performance at the farm level is importan tto be studied related to improving the welfare of the cattle farmers and also the achievement of self-sufficiency in food, especially meat self-sufficiency.  The number of KKPE distributed since 2007, continued to increase from year to year, but the performance of the livestock subsector is not yet fully accordance with the expectations.  Therefore, the objective of  this study is to analyze the impact of KKPE to the number of cattle owned by the farmer, employment and income of the cattle farming.  The main data used are primary data collected through interviews using a questionnaire to124 cattle farmers recipient and non recipientKKPE in Central Java and determined using purposive sampling method.  Results ofthe study usingLinear regression models of the ordinary least squares (OLS) approach indicates that KKPE provide a positive influence on the number of cattle owned by farmers, employment and income of the cattle farming where the influence of  the KKPE are all significant except for the impact on business income of cattle.  Thus, in order to encourage the improvement of the welfare of farmers and the achievement of self-sufficiency in meat, KKPE needs to be developed with the control the credit delivery system is able to provide incentives for farmers to continue to expand its cattle farming.Keywords:  Cattle farmer, impact of the KKPE, KKPE Credit program, OLSABSTRAKDampak kredit ketahanan pangan dan energi (KKPE) terhadap kinerja usaha sapi di tingkat peternak merupakan hal yang penting untuk dikaji terkait dengan upaya peningkatan kesejahateraan peternak dan juga pencapaian swasembada pangan, khususnya swasembada daging.  Nilai KKPE yang disalurkan sejak tahun 2007, terus mengalami peningkatan dari tahun ke tahun, namun kinerja subsektor peternakan belum sepenuhnya sesuai dengan harapan.  Oleh karena itu, tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis dampak KKPE terhadap jumlah sapi yang dipelihara, penyerapan tenaga kerja serta pendapatan usaha sapi peternak.  Data utama yang digunakan berupa data primer yang dikumpulkan  melalui wawancara dengan menggunakan kuesioner pada 124 peternak sapi penerima dan non penerima KKPE di Jawa Tengah dimana sampel peternak tersebut ditentukan dengan menggunakan metode  purposive sampling.  Hasil studi dengan menggunakan Model Regresi Linier Sederhana  (Linear regression models of the ordinary least square (OLS) approach) menunjukkan bahwa KKPE memberikan pengaruh yang positif terhadap jumlah sapi yang dimiliki peternak, penyerapan tenaga kerja. Pengaruh tersebut semuanya signifikan, kecuali untuk dampaknya terhadap pendapatan usaha sapi.  Dengan demikian, untuk dapat mendorong peningkatan kesejahteraan peternak dan pencapaian swasembada daging, KKPE perlu terus dikembangkan dengan pengendalian pada sistem penyaluran kredit yang mampu memberikan insentif bagi peternak untuk terus mengembangkan usahanya.Kata kunci:  Kredit program KKPE, dampak KKPE,  peternak sapi, OLS

Abstract

Bank XYZ is bank that  already  launched credit card in 2007. In their operations, Bank XYZ applying the provision of insentive for the sale of a credit card with the aim that can improve employee motivation to high performing better. Basically every company hopes to reach the target of predetermined sales. But in reality the sale of a credit card to the Bank XYZ Bogor branch has not yet reached the set target. Not achieve the target that is supposed to identify that there is a problem in the achievements of employee performance whereby the employee has not been motivated to work optimally. While Bank XYZ strategy are already making the provision of incentives for retail banking staff who performs the sale of the credit card.The purpose of this research is: 1. Indentify the influence of incentives on employee motivation retail banking division in Bank XYZ in the target of credit card sales. 2. Indentify the influence of an incentive against the employee performance retail banking division. 3. Formulate efforts to improve the effectiveness of incentive system in order to increase the employee performance retail banking division. The process of data analysis begins with some of the stage where the first stage is a test of validity and reability instrument. Descriptive statistic analysis conducted to determine how perceptions of respondents to statements in the questionnaire through analysis rataan score. Through descriptive of statistical analysis can be seen how perceptions of respondents to incentives, motivation and performance. Next after the statistical analysis descriptive done testing SEM (Structural equation model) operated through the LISREL program. The results of the analysis show that the incentive effect significantly against the major motivation of employees. Motivational variables on performance demonstrates that a significant effect on performance the motivation of employees. When compared to the value of the charge factor of motivation on performance, different values looks at factors variable charge directly on performance incentives that show the influence of the small and insignificant. This incentive has the role of small shows a factor in improving the performance of staff Bank XYZ retail banking division. This is shows that employees incentive to affect the performance of retail banking division through motivation, demonstrable of indirect influence more motivation than through direct influence on the performance.

Abstract

Dalam lima tahun terakhir, terdapat tiga perusahaan televisi swasta nasional di Indonesia yang berhasil melakukan perubahan transformasional di tingkat korporat. Secara teori, implementasi perubahan pada organisasi semacam ini akan sulit dilakukan karena tingkat resistensi tidak sama dengan nol (Ansoff&McDonnell, 1990). Resisting Change merupakan salah satu dimensi dari kesiapan berubah yang bersifat negatif. Dua dimensi lainnya yang bersifat positif adalah Participating and Promoting Change (Hanpachern, Morgan & Griego, 1998). Holt et al (2007) mengkategorikan anteseden kesiapan berubah dalam empat perspektif: content, context, process, dan individual attributes. Dari keempat perspektif tersebut, faktor kunci kesiapan organisasi untuk berubah terletak pada faktor atribut individu yaitu karakteristik dari sumber daya manusia. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksplorasi yang bertujuan mengetahui atribut individu apa yang dimiliki dan memampukan karyawan di tiga perusahaan tersebut siap menghadapi dan sukses mengimplementasikan perubahan. Apakah temuan sama dengan hasil penelitian sebelumnya di negeri barat yaitu efficacy dan leadership, atau ditemukan adanya atribut individu lainnya. Penelitian ini merupakan bagian pertama dari dua tahapan studi yang dilakukan secara terpisah. Pada penelitian tahap pertama yang bersifat kualitatif ini dilakukan wawancara individual secara mendalam terhadap narasumber pelaku utama perubahan pada tiga perusahaan televisi yang menjadi obyek studi. Data diolah dan dianalisis menggunakan sense-making melalui analisis baris. Hasil penelitian berhasil mengidentifikasi 15 atribut individu yang kemudian dikelompokkan menjadi empat kategori, yaitu: Psychological Capital, Transformational Leadership Behavior, Way of Thinking dan Organizational Commiment. Atribut individu yang muncul dikemukakan oleh seluruh narasumber adalah Efficacy, Resiliency, Optimism, Inspiring a Shared Vision, Enabling Others to Act, Modeling The Way, Rational Thinking dan Affective Commitment. Modeling the Way dtemukan sebagai atribut individu yang paling sering dikemukakan oleh seluruh narasumber, diikuti Affective Commitment, Enabling Others to Act dan Resiliency.
