Abstract

This research aimed to know the eligibility of the picture storybook as the learning media in plants’ pest and disease sub-material in 8thgrade students of junior high school and to examine extract concentration of clove’s leaf that was effective to impede the growth of Corticium salmonicolor fungus colony. This research first measuring examining the potency of clove’s leaf antifungus extract toward the growth of Corticium salmonicolor fungus colony that was done using experimental method and analyzed with ANOVA on RAL models, continued with the eligibility of the picture storybook media that was validated by seven validators. The result showed that there was the potency of clove’s leaf antifungus extract to impede the growth of Corticium salmonicolor fungus colony and 3% effective concentration. The results of the picture storybook media validation analysis obtained an average score 3.5 (it classified as valid) and appropriate to be used in learning process plants’ pest and disease sub-material in 8thgrade students of junior high school.
