Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan limbah singkong sebagai pakan domba. Daun, batang, kulit singkong dan CDBK,masing-masing diulang 5 kali dan didesian dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji Duncan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa CDBK menghasilkan produksi asam lemak terbang (ALT) dan NH3 sebesar 129,9 dan 6,47 mM, serta nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,05) dibandingkan dengan daun, batangdan kulit singkong. Di pihak lain, kecernaan bahan kering (KcBK) tertinggi (P<0,05) diperoleh padakulit singkong, yaitu 64,92. Potensial hidrogen (pH) untuk semua perlakuan menghasilkan nilai yang sama (P>0,05) dengan kisaran 6,97-6,99. Kesimpulan, campuran daun, batang, dan kulit singkong paling baik digunakan sebagai pakan domba.

Abstract

Palm oil fiber has its potency as feed fiber source for ruminant, but contains high lignin and causes limited digestibility. This research was carried out to find the effect of soaking palm oil fiber in filtrated palm oil fruit bunch ash (FPOFBA) on in vitro digestibility. This experiment used a completely randomized design that repeated for 4times. Palm oil fruit bunch ash was mixed in water and entered into container for 24 hours within concentrations, consists of: 50, 100, 150 and 200 g/L. Moreover, this filtrate used to soak palm oil fiber for 3 hours. The processed products were analyzed for their level of lignin and crude fiber. Meanwhile, in vitro test was used to measure digestibility. It showed that soaking in filtrated palm oil fruit bunch ash gave significant effect to decrease level of lignin and crude fiber (P<0.05), and without soaking to improve digestibility of dry and organic matter compared to control treatment (P<0.05). Treatment with 150 g/L and 200 g/L using filtrated palm oil fruit bunch ash produced low level of lignin (P<0.05), as of: 17.25 and 18.53%. In contrast, within concentration of 150 g/L produced higher level of crude fiber compared to 200 g/L (46.04 vs. 43.87%). This seemed to have the same results in digestibility of dry and organic matter (P>0.05), such as 23.48 and 24.12% as well as 16.70 and 17.06 % in each. It can be concluded that soaked palm oil fiber with 150 g/L concentration of filtrated palm oil fruit bunch ash was more effective in improving digestibility.

Abstract

Dedak padi banyak terdapat di daerah perdesaan. Bahan pakan ini mengandung fitat yang tinggi dan dapat mengikat Kadmium (Cd). Penelitian bertujuan untuk mempelajari lokal pengaruh penggunaan dedak padi dalam ransum ayam lokal yang diberi air minum mengandung cemaran kadmium terhadap performans. Dua puluh empat ekor ayam lokal digunakan dalam penelitian ini dengan bobot 422,08 ± 38,78 g. Dedak padi digunakan dalam ransum sebanyak 0, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50% selama 8 minggu. Air minum diberikan ad libitum mengandung 100 mg/kg Cd. Hasil, perlakuan menunjukkan perbedaan yang tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap performans. Penggunaan dedak padi sampai 50% lebih menguntungkan. Kadmium dalam air minum tidak mengganggu fisologi dan metabolisme dalam tubuh. Kesimpulan, dedak padi dapat digunakan sebagai pakan sampai 50%, dan konsumsi air minum yang mengandung 100 mg/kg Cd selama 8 minggu tidak mempengaruhi performans ayam lokal.Kata Kunci : dedak padi, Fitat, Cd, ayam lokal

Abstract

Penelitian ini mempelajari performan domba  yang diberi  ransum  mengandung Zn-fitat dan Pb-asetat pada domba. Dua puluh ekor domba yang sedang tumbuh dengan bobot 14-21 kg dipelihara selama 42  hari dan dialokasikan ke dalam 5 perlakuan ransum percobaan. Seng-fitat dan Pb-asetat dibubuhkan ke dalam ransum percobaan sebagai berikut : 1) ransum basal, 2) ransum  basal + ZnCl2, 3) ransum basal + Pb-asetat, 4) ransum basal + Zn-fitat, 5) ransum basal + Zn-fitat + Pb-asetat.  Hasil menunjukan bahwa suplementasi Zn-fitat nyata tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertambahan bobot badan harian dan  konversi ransum (P>0,05), namun kehadiran Pb-asetat menurunkan konsumsi bahan kering (P<0,05).  Kesimpulan suplementasi Zn-fitat tidak efektif dalam meningkatkan performans domba dan Pb-asetat menurunkan konsumsi ransum. Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui performa domba yang diberi ransum yangdisuplementasi metionin-CPO. Delapan ekor domba lokal dialokasikan ke dalam 2 ransum percobaan,yaitu  1)  ransum  basal  2)  ransum  basal  +  metionin  1%    (metionin-CPO).  Data  yang  terkumpul dianalisis dengan uji T. Hasil menunjukan suplementasi metionin 1% dalam bentuk metionin-CPO menghasilkan kercenaan dan performa domba yang sama dengan ransum basal. Kesimpulan, suplementasi metionin 1% (metionin-CPO) tidak efektif dalam meningkatkan performa domba.Kata kunci:

Abstract

The research conducted at the Laboratory of Ruminant Nutrition and Chemistry of Feedstruff, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Padjadjaran University, Sumedang from April to May, 2012. The aim was to find out the effect of mangosteen peel extract in tofu waste on NH3 (ammonia) and VFA (Volatile Fatty Acid) content of ruminal juice. This research used an experimental method with the Completely Randomized Design. There were four kinds of treatments (T0 = tofu Waste without Mangosteen Peel Extract (MPE) addition, T1 = 1%, T2 = 2% and T3 = 3% Tannin of MPE in tofu waste with five replications respectively. The difference among treatments was tested using Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that the addition of 1%, 2% and 3% tannin MPE reduced (P&lt;0,05) the NH3 and VFA content of ruminal fluid. From the results of the analysis can be concluded that the adduction of MPE at 3% tannin (T3) resulted the lowest NH3 (5.14 mM) and VFA (114.20 mM) content. Abstract

&nbsp;The study aimed to study the effect of protein and total digestible nutrients on performance of female Garut lambs. A total of 20 female Garut lambs aged 7-8 months at averaged body weight 15.72 ± 1.33 kg were allocated randomly into four treatment diets with different crude protein and total digestible nutrients ratios.&nbsp; The treatments were:&nbsp; T1 = 11.53%:63.13%; T2 = 10.78%:70.06%; T3 = 13.54%:63.18%; and T4 = 13.67%:69.18%. Each treatment was replicated five times. The research was conducted experimentally for 12 weeks and the collected data were analyzed by Duncan?s multiple range test. The dry matter intake was significantly (p&lt;0.05) higher in the treatments of T1 (707.70 g/d), T2 (677.71 g/d) and T4 (687.91 g/d) compared to T3 (587.01 g/d). The highest (p&lt;0.05) average daily gain and the smallest (p&lt;0.05) feed conversion ratio were significantly obtained by T4 (89.88 g/d and 7.75). Dry matter digestibility and organic matter digestibility was significantly (p&lt;0.05) greater for T2 (63.93% and 64.10%) and T4 (59.73% and 65.14%) compared to T1 (49.98% and 55.34%) and T3 (44.68% and 50.60%) treatments. Based on the results, it can be concluded that T4 or the diet containing 13.67% crude protein and 69.18% total digestible nutrients yielded the best performance.&nbsp;

Abstract

AbstrakAmpas tahu adalah hasil ikutan yang mudah didegradasi oleh mikroba rumen. Penelitian betujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh penundaan pemberian ampas tahu pada domba yang diberi rumput terhadap konsumsi dan kecernaan. Dua puluh ekor domba lokal jantan dengan bobot hidup sebesar 21,7 ± 1,36 dialokasikan ke dalam rancangan acak lengkap dengan 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. Perlakuan berupa pola waktu  pemberian ampas tahu terhadap rumput gajah, yaitu 1) 1,5 jam sebelum 2) bersamaan, 3) 1,5 jam sesudah 4) 3 jam sesudah. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh (P>0,05) nyata terhadap konsumsi ransum, kecernaan bahan kering, bahan organik, protein kasar dan serat kasar.  Kesimpulan, pemberian ampas tahu dapat dilakukan kapan saja, namun pemberian sebelum rumput gajah akan lebih efisien pada pagi hari, sedangkan pada siang atau sore hari sebaiknya diberikan secara bersamaan.Kata kunci : ampas tahu, rumput  Gajah,  domba, konsumsi dan kecernaan

Abstract

Bioethanol is a renewable bio-fuels as an alternative energy substitute for oil, in the process leaving a solid waste that can be leveraged into a more useful product. This study aims to improve nutrition and reduce HCN and get the right dose of inoculum in the fermentation of bioethanol from cassava waste. This research was conducted with the experimental method used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) in the 3 x 3 factorial with 3 replications. The first factor inoculum dose (D) to the level of inoculum dose, respectively d1 = 2%, 3% = d2, d3 = 4% and the second factor is the length of fermentation, namely for 0, 4 and 8 days As for some of the parameters measured were protein content and crude fiber through proximate analysis, as well as levels of HCN by distillation method. The result showed that the best dose is the dose of 4% which can increase protein content from 2.47% to 2.91% before fermentation - 4.88% after fermentation and can lower crude fiber content of 2.65% to 2.50 % - 2.07% and influential to the decreased levels of HCN from 15.92 mg / kg to 12.73 mg / kg - 0.00 mg / kg for 8 days after fermentation. The results showed that the fermentation process using a consortium of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Trichoderma viride can improve the quality of solid waste processing bioethanol from cassava which include increased levels of protein, crude fiber and decreased levels of HCN reduction.
