Abstract

Lahan rawa lebak di Kalimantan Barat luasnya 35.436  ha, sekitar  9.796 ha ditanami padi satu kali setahun dengan hasil rata-rata 1 t ha-1. Kondisi tersebut berpotensi untuk ditingkatkan produktivitasnya. Tujuan pengkajian ini adalah meningkatkan produktivitas padi di lahan rawa lebak melalui perbaikan tata air, perbaikan varietas dan perbaikan kesuburan tanah. Metode penelitian berupa analisis kesesuaian lahan dan percobaan lapang. Percobaan lapang menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok diulang 5 kali dengan 4 perlakuan  paket teknologi: 1) padi lokal, pemupukan N 45 kg ha-1, P2O5 9 kg ha-1, K2O 12 kg ha-1, 2) varietas Inpago 8, pemupukan N 90 kg ha-1, P2O5 22,5 kg ha-1, K2O 60 kg ha-1 dan kapur 2 t ha-1, 3) varietas Inpago 8, pemupukan N 90 kg ha-1, P2O5 22,5 kg ha-1, K2O 60 kg ha-1 dan kapur 2 t ha-1 dan bahan organik 2 t ha-1, 4) varietas Inpago 8, pemupukan N 90 kg ha-1, P2O5 22,5 kg ha-1, K2O 60 kg ha-1, kapur 2 t ha-1 dan bahan organik 2 t ha-1, serta sistem pengairan satu arah. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa paket teknologi menggunakan varietas unggul, pemupukan berimbang dan pemberian kapur dan pupuk organik masing-masing 2 t ha-1 dengan sistem pengairan satu arah dapat meningkatkan hasil 148% dari 2,3 t ha-1 menjadi 5,7 t ha-1 GKG dan memperoleh kuntungan yang paling besar yaitu Rp. 24.442.500,-  ha-1 musim-1. Kata Kunci : Rawa Lebak, pengelolaan air, ameliorasi, produktivitas, padi

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dosis kascing yang baik pada Kultur sel Skeletonema costatum untuk menghasilkan kepadatan sel Skeletonema costatum yang optimal. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 11 - 25 Desember 2013. Di Balai Budidaya Air Payau (BBAP) Ujoeng Batee, Kabupaten Aceh Besar, Provinsi Aceh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperiment dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Adapun perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah perlakuan A (0,4 gram/liter), perlakuan B (0,6 gram/liter), perlakuan C (0,8 gram/liter), dan perlakuan D (kontrol). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kepadatan sel terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan C (kepadatan 4,946.667 sel/l), diikuti oleh perlakuan B (kepadatan sel 4.386,67 x 103 sel/ml) dan perlakuan A (kepadatan sel 3.746,67 x 103 sel/ml) dan yang terendah terdapat pada perlakuan D (kepadatan sel rata-rata 1.653,33 x 103 sel/ml). Adapun kepadatan sel awal inokula sebanyak 20 x 104 sel/l dengan masa kultur 2 hari dan mencapai fase puncak pada jam 07.45 dan 15.45, sedangkan pada jam 17.45 mengalami penurunan. Berdasarkan hasil ANOVA (uji F) didapat puncak populasi sel Skeletonema costatum berpengaruh nyata dengan F hitung (6.83) < F Tabel0.01 (7.59) dengan penambahan kascing dengan dosis yang berbeda. Hasil pengukuran kualitas air sel ama penelitian berlangsung diketahui kisaran rata-rata kualitas air sel ama penelitian berlangsung masih dalam kisaran yang memadai dan memenuhi persyaratan pemeliharaan sel Skeletonema costatum. Adapun kisaran parameter kualitas air yang didapatkan adalah DO 7,3-7,4 ppm, salinitas 27-30 ppt, dan suhu 27,3-30 oC.This study was aimed to determine good doses of vermicompostin on Skeletonema costatum culture for yielding optimal Skeletonema costatum cell density. This study was conducted on December 11st to 25th 2013 at BBAP Ujoeng Batee, Aceh Besar, Aceh Province. Research design used was completely randomized design (CRD) non-factorial which consisted of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments were categorized as A (0,4 grams/liter), B (0,6 grams/liter), C (0,8 grams/liter), and D (control). The results showed that the best cell density was found at the treatment C with cell density 4.946, 67x 103 cells/ml. Then it was followed by treatment B (cell density 4.386,67 x 103 cells/ml) and treatment A (cell density 3.746,67x 103 cells/ml). The lowest one was gained at treatment D (cell density 1.653,33 x 103 cells/ml). The peaks of population were found at time 07.45 and 15.45 while it decreased at time 17.45 during 2 days of cultivation. According to F value of Anova, Skeletonema costatum population was not influenced by different vermicompostin doses inwhere F calculated(6.83) < F Tabel0.01 (7.59). Water quality during the study was in required condition for maintaining Skeletonema costatum cells. The range of water quality parameters were DO 7.3-7.4 ppm, salinity 27-30 ppt and temperature 27.3-30 0C.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji jarak tanam sistem legowo pada beberapa varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil padi. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menguji interaksi antara jarak tanam dengan varietas terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman padi. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan petak terpisah dengan empat ulangan. Faktor yang diteliti adalah (1) varietas, yang terdiri dari tiga taraf, yaitu Pandan Wangi, Ciherang, dan Cot Irie dan (2) jarak tanam, terdiri dari dua taraf, yaitu 21 cm x 10,5 cm x 42 cm dan 25 cm x 12,5 cm x 50 cm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan produktif, tetapi berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap panjang malai dan hasil per ha. Galur Cot Irie memberikan panjang malai dan hasil per ha yang lebih baik dibanding varietas Ciherang dan Pandan Wangi, sementara Varietas Ciherang memberikan panjang malai dan hasil per ha yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan Varietas Pandan Wangi. Hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan bahwa jarak tanam berpengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan produktif, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang malai dan hasil per ha. Jarak tanam berbasis 25 cm secara signifikan memberikan jumlah anakan produktif lebih banyak dibanding jarak tanam berbasis 21 cm. Tidak ada interaksi antara varietas dan jarak tanam terhadap jumlah anakan, panjang malai, dan hasil per ha. Investigating Plant Spacing of Legowo System on Growth and Yield of Several Rice Varieties in SRI MethodABSTRACT. The objectives of this study were to examine plant spacing of legowo system on growth and yield of several varieties of rice and interaction between plant spacing and varieties on growth and yield of rice. This study used a split plot design with four replicates. Factors studied were (1) varieties, consisting of three levels, namely, Pandan Wangi, Ciherang, and Cot Irie and (2) plant spacing, consisting of two levels, namely 21 cm x 10.5 cm x 42 cm and 25 cm x 12.5 cm x 50 cm. Results showed that varieties did not significantly affect number of productive tillers, but significantly affected length of panicle and yield per ha. Cot Irie Line provided greater panicle and yield per hectare than Ciherang and Pandan Wangi Varieties, while Ciherang did not provide significantly different panicle and yield per hectare, compared to Pandan Wangi. Result also showed that plant spacing significantly affected number of productive tillers, but did not significantly affect length of panicle and yield per ha. Plant spacing on basis of 25 cm significantly provided more number of productive tillers than that of 21 cm. There were no significant interaction between varieties and plant spacing on number of tillers, length of panicle, and yield per ha.

Abstract

Effect of Compost and Urea on Seedling Growth of Betel Palm (Areca catechu L.) Iwan Wahyudi dan Muhammad Hatta Fakultas Pertanian Unsyiah, Darussalam Banda Aceh ABSTRACT This study was aimed at finding an appropriate dosage of compost and urea for seedling growth of betel palm. In addition, this study was also to determine whether the provision of compost can increase effectiveness of urea fertilizer for seedling growth of betel palm. Results of research showed that compost significantly affected seedling growth of betel palm. The best dosage of compost for the seedling growth was 1.5 kg per seedling. Urea fertilizer also significantly affected seedling growth of betel palm. The best dosage of urea for the seedling growth was 1.5 g per seedling. There were no significant interactions in most variables of seedling growth observed.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui jarak tanam dan jumlah benih per lubang yang tepat terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun serta untuk mengetahui interaksi antara kedua faktor tersebut.  Penelitian dilakukan di Kebun Percobaan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Syiah Kuala Darussalam Banda Aceh dari bulan Oktober sampai Desember 2009. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial 3 x 3 dengan 3 ulangan. Faktor yang diteliti yaitu jarak tanam (20 cm x 60 cm, 30 cm x 60 cm dan 40 cm x 60 cm) dan jumlah benih per lubang  (1, 2,dan 3 benih per lubang). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jarak tanam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap berat buah per tanaman, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang buah.  Buah per tanaman terberat dan terpanjang diperoleh pada jarak tanam 40 cm x 60 cm. Jumlah benih per lubang berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap diameter buah dan berat buah per tanaman, serta berpengaruh nyata terhadap panjang batang utama umur 15 HST dan jumlah buah per tanaman. Diameter buah terbesar dan buah per tanaman terberat dijumpai pada penggunaan 1 benih per lubang,  sedangkan   jumlah buah per tanaman terbanyak diperoleh pada penggunaan 3 benih per lubang. Terdapat interaksi yang tidak nyata antara jarak tanam dan jumlah benih per lubang terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil mentimun. Plant Growth and Yield of Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) in Response to Different Spacing and Seed Numbers per HoleABSTRACT. The study was aimed at determining the right spacing and seed numbers per hole on growth and yield of cucumber plants and investigating interactions between the two factors. The study was conducted at the Experiment Station of Agriculture Faculty of Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh from October to December 2009. Experiment was arranged in a factorial randomized complete block design (RCBD) 3 x 3 with three replications. Factors studied were plant spacing (20 cm x 60 cm, 30 cm x60 cm, and 40 cm x 60 cm) and seed numbers per hole (1, 2, and 3 seeds per hole). Results showed that plant spacing exerted a highly significant effect on fruit weight per plant and a significant effect on fruit length. The best fruit weight and length were obtained at a spacing of  40 cm x 60 cm. Seed numbers exerted highly significant effects on fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant and significant effects on main stem length at age 15 days after planting and fruit numbers per plant. The best fruit diameter and fruit weight per plant were found at 1 seed  per hole, while the best fruit numbers per plant was obtained at 3 seeds per hole. There was no significant interaction between plant spacing and seed numbers per hole on growth and yield of cucumber.

Abstract

Effect of Growing Media and Sprinkling Frequency on Growth and Yield of Lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) in Verticulture SystemAbstract. This study aims to determine the influence of growing media and watering frequency on growth and yield of lettuce using verticulture system and the interaction between the two factors. The design used was randomized block design (RBD) with factorial pattern. 4x3 and 3 replications, so there were 36 experimental units. There are two factors studied, namely factor planting medium (M) consist of four level, and watering frequency factor (P) consisting of three levels. The result showed that the effect of growing media and watering frequency on lettuce plant significantly to the growth and yield of lettuce plant, including plant height, length, width, and number of strands of lettuce of the age of 10, 20, 30 days after planting (DAP) and wet weight age 30 DAP. The best planting medium found in the soil planting medium. While the best watering frequency found 1 day 2 times. There was no significant interaction between the growing media and watering frequency on all growth variables and lettuce plants were observed.

Abstract

Effects of Watering Temperature on Seedling Growth of Chili (Capsicum annum L.)ABSTRACT. Researches of temperature effect on plant have yet to provide obvious results of how leaf temperature and media temperature differs plant growth. The research of objectives are to study effects of water temperature irrigated to media and water temperature sprayed to the leaves on chili seedling growth. Completely randomized block design was used in the research. The factor studied were water temperature for watering media and water temperature for spraying seedling leaves. The result showed that water temperature for spraying seedling leaves significantly affected all variables observed, including seedling height, seedling diameter, leaf size, wet weight of seedling, wet weight of the roots, dried weigh of seedling, and dried weigh of the roots. Water temperature for watering media did not significantly affect all variables observed. There were significant interactions between water temperature for watering media and water temperature for spraying seedling leaves on seedling diameter and leaf size. Water temperature of 120C for watering media in combination with normal water temperature for spraying seedling leaves was the best treatment combination, while water temperature of 120C for watering media in combination with 120C water temperature for spraying seedling leaves was the worst treatment.

Abstract

Utilization of Oil Palm Empty Fruits Bunches for Organic Fertilizer on Intercropping of Oil Palm and Maize. Processing of crude palm oil resulted a waste of empty fruit bunches that have not been optimally utilized by most of oil palm factories in West Kalimantan. Its waste was processed to be compost using bio activator, which made the process faster. This compost consists of high macronutrients (N, P, K, Mg, Ca), thus could be used for organic fertilizer. This organic fertilizer was utilized to optimize the land of oil palm plantation with intercropping pattern of immature oil palm and maize. The purpose of this study was to determine the response of application of compost from oil palm empty fruit bunches towards growth of oil palm and yield of maize on intercropping pattern. The research was conducted by composting of oil palm empty fruit bunches with the commercial bio activator then implemented them to the intercropping pattern of immature oil palm plantation and maize. The experimental design used was a randomized block design with four fertilizer treatment and was repeated five times. Results of the study showed that the use of oil palm empty fruit bunches with a dose of 150 kg per plant for palm and 6 t/ha for maize with intercropping patterns to increase of 20 cm height plant for palm during 10 month and provide maize yields of 6.8 t/ha. Results of the financial analysis of maize crop showed profit of IDR 14.278.000/ha/season. Key words: Waste, oil palm empty fruit bunches, composting, intercropping, maize, added valuePengolahan Crude Palm Oil selalu menghasilkan limbah tandan kosong kelapa sawit dan belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh sebagian besar Pabrik Kelapa Sawit di Kalimantan Barat. Limbah tersebut dapat diproses menjadi kompos dengan menggunakan bioaktivator dalam waktu yang lebih cepat. Kandungan unsur hara makro (N, P, K, Mg, Ca) pada limbah tandan kosong sawit cukup tinggi dan dapat digunakan sebagai pupuk organik. Pupuk organik ini dapat dimanfaatkan untuk optimalisasi lahan perkebunan kelapa sawit dengan pola intercropping antara tanaman kelapa sawit yang masih muda dengan tanaman jagung. Tujuan pengkajian ini adalah untuk mengetahui respon aplikasi kompos tandan kosong sawit hasil dekomposisi bioaktivator  komersial terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman kelapa sawit dan hasil jagung dengan pola tanam intercropping. Pengkajian dilakukan dengan pembuatan kompos tandan kosong sawit menggunakan bioaktivator komersial yang diaplikasikan terhadap pola tanam intercropping tanaman kelapa sawit belum menghasilkan dengan tanaman jagung. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 4 perlakuan pemupukan kompos tandan kosong sawit diulang 5 kali. Hasil kajian menunjukkan pemberian kompos tandan kosong sawit  dengan dosis 150 kg/tanaman untuk kelapa sawit dan 6 t/ha untuk tanaman jagung dengan pola intercropping dapat meningkatkan tinggi tanaman kelapa sawit 20 cm selama 10 bulan dan memberikan hasil jagung sebanyak 6,8 t/ ha, menghasilkan keuntungan sebesar Rp14.278.000,-/ha/musim. Abstract

Penelitian ini menggunakan metode dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 120 orang responden. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu analisis jalur. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa variabel kemampuan memiliki pengaruh langsung bernilai positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Sikap kerja memilki pengaruh secara langsung yang bernilai positif dan signifikan terhadap motivasi kerja guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Kemampuan memiliki pengaruh secara langsung bernilai positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja Guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Sikap kerja memiliki pengaruh secara langsung yang berniali positif dan signifikan secara langsung terhadap kinerja guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Motivasi kerja memiliki pengaruh secara langsung yang bernilai positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Kemampuan memiliki pengaruh secara tidak langsung yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru melalui motivasi kerja guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. Sikap kerja memiliki pengaruh tidak langsung yang positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja guru melalui kemampuan guru pada Madrasah Aliah di Kabupaten Maros. The study was conducted on teachers in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency with a sample of 120 respondents. The data analysis techniques used are path analysis techniques. The results of the study show that the ability variable has a positive and significant direct effect on teacher work motivation in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency. The work attitude has a direct influence that has a positive and significant value on teacher work motivation in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency. The ability to have a direct and positive and significant influence on the performance of Teachers in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency. The work attitude has a direct and positive influence that directly and significantly affects the performance of teachers in Islamic Madrasas in Maros Regency. Work motivation has a direct influence that has a positive and significant value on teacher performance in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency. Ability has a positive and significant indirect effect on teacher performance through teacher work motivation in Aliah Madrasas in Maros Regency. Work attitudes have a positive and significant indirect effect on teacher performance through the ability of teachers in Aliah Madrasah in Maros Regency. Abstract

This paper discusses descriptively the instructional leadership from an Islamic perspective. It also attempts to review the literature pertinent to the instructional leadership and to discuss the concepts and roles of the principal as an instructional leader and their tasks or dimensions. The effective instructional education characteristics comprises the education through good example, education through norms, education through advise and counselling, education through observation and supervision and education through rewards and punishment also discussed in the paper. The paper   identified that the leadership model of Mohamad Johdi and Bakare (2009) is an applicable model of Islamic instructional LEADERSHIP (L-Leader, E-Educational, A-Aim, D-Delivery, E-Empowerment, R-Robust, S-Style, H-Humble, P-Piety), and I-Intelligent. The leader with the Imam concept is the one who is supposed to be obeyed by the followers
