Abstract

The research aims are (1) to know the duration of stigma receptive and pollen viability maximally as guidance in artificial pollination process in Melon; (2) to know the degree of success of artificial pollination and its relation with production (quantity) and quality (weight) of Melon, has been conducted. The research method is used to determine pollen viability and receptive stigma. Therefore, experimental method is used to test the success of artificial pollination toward production and fruit quality. The obtained data was analyzed by Anava and regression. The result indicated that (1) Receptive stigma maximum occurred by the time the flower opens; (2) Pollen viability maximum occurred a day after the flower opens; (3) Quantity and quality fruit through the process of artificial pollination increase 35,51 % compared to natural pollination.

Abstract

The vinegar production needs two steps, the sugar changing to alcohol by yeast and then alcohol changing to vinegar by acetic acid bacteria. The vinegar could be produce by slow methods. The purposed of this study were to determine the influence of yeast and sugar using against the quality of fermentation result in first step (anaerobic), analyzing the influence of fermentation time against the vinegar quality based on SNI 01-3711-1995, and study the influence of fermentation time against the acetic acid content in second step (aerobic) with slow methods. This research used completely randomized design, the adding sugar (3 level) and yeast (3 level) as treatment. Each treatment was repeated three times. While the observation of vinegar quality used experiment research without the difference of treatment and repetition, used single error design. Result of research showed that vinegar quality have been suitable with SNI 01-3711-1995 about vinegar, include form, smell, acetic acid content, formic acid and oxalic acid. If the fermentation time be longer, the acetic acid content be lower in aerobic fermentation with slow methods, it was showed by the exponential regression formula ?= 20,695e-0,088x.

Abstract

Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between decreased E-Cadherin and ß1-integrin expression in resectable endometrial cancer with the depth of myometrial invasion and pelvic lymph node metastasis.Method: This was a cross sectional study, we used immunohistochemistry examination on E-Cadherin and ß1-integrin expression in resectable endometrial cancer patients who had surgery in 1997 to 2006 in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital and searched the correlation with the depth of myometrial invasion and pelvic lymph node metastasis. Result: The prevalence of endometrial cancer from 1997 to 2006 in Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital was 7.0 in a year. Out of 64 patients with endometrial cancer only 36 paraffin block could be found and immunostaining on E-Cadherin and ß1-integrin was done in 30 samples. Decreased E-Cadherin and ß1-integrin expression was associated with the depth of myometrial invasion, pelvic lymph node metastasis, lymph ovascular space involvement and degree of differentiation in resectable endometrial cancer patients. Conclusion: Decreased E-Cadherin and ß1-integrin expression was associated with the depth of myometrial invasion and pelvic lymph nodes metastasis.[Indones J Obstet Gynecol 2010; 34-3: 136-42] Keywords: E-Cadherin, ß1-integrin, the depth of myometrial invasion, pelvic lymph node metastasisTujuan: Penelitian ini dibuat untuk membuktikan apakah penurunan ekspresi E-Cadherin dan ß1-integrin pada penderita kanker endometrium berhubungan dengan kejadian kedalaman invasi miometrium dan metastasis kelenjar getah bening pelvis. Metode: Ini adalah penelitian retrospektif. Dilakukan pemeriksaan ekspresi E-Cadherin dan ß1-integrin secara imunohistokimia pada penderita kanker endometrium yang telah dioperasi tahun 1997 - 2006 di Rumah Sakit Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo dan mencari hubungan dengan kejadian invasi miometrium dan metastasis kelenjar getah bening. Hasil: Kejadian kanker endometrium tahun 1997 - 2006 di Rumah Sakit Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo adalah 7,0 pertahun. Dari 64 penderita kanker endometrium hanya 36 yang ditemukan blok parafinnya dan hanya 30 sampel yang dapat diperiksa ekspresi ECadherin dan ß1-integrin secara imunohistokimia. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji patogenitas dari jamur entomopatogen M. anisopliae dan C. militaris terhadap larva O. rhinoceros di laboratorium. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) nonfaktorial dengan tujuh perlakuan dan empat ulangan yaitu A0 (kontrol), A1, A2, A3 (diaplikasikan jamur M. anisopliae pada masing – masing 10, 15, dan 20 gr media jagung), A4, A5, A6 (diaplikasikan jamur C. militaris  pada masing – masing 10, 15, dan 20 gr media jagung). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase mortalitas larva tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A3 (diaplikasikan jamur M. anisopliae pada 20 gr media jagung) sebesar 100,00% dan terendah pada perlakuan A4 (diapliakasikan jamur C. militaris pada 10 gr media jagung) sebesar 70,00%. Persentase waktu munculnya koloni jamur uji pada larva yang terinfeksi tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A3 (diaplikasikan  jamur M. anisopliae pada 20 gr media jagung) sebesar 100,00% dan terendah pada perlakuan A4 (diaplikasi jamur C. militaris pada 10 gr media jagung) sebesar 55,00%. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jamur entomopatogen M. anisopliae lebih efektif digunakan dalam mengendalikan larva O. rhinoceros dibandingkan dengan jamur C. militaris, tetapi keduanya dapat digunakan untuk mengendalikan larva O. rhinoceros yang ramah lingkungan. Kata Kunci : Oryctes rhinoceros, Metarhizium anisopliae, Cordyceps militaris.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Padi varietas unggul baru merupakan salah satu terobosan inovasi teknologi yang paling mudah diadopsi petani karena teknologi ini murah dan sangat praktis. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memilih varietas unggul baru padi gogo yang dapat beradaptasi baik di Aceh Besar. Penelitian lapangan dilakukan di kebun petani di desa Turam Kecamatan Darul Imarah Kabupaten Aceh Besar pada musim kering 2012. Lima varietas yang digunakan yaitu Tuwoti, Situ Patenggang, Situ Bagendit, Limboto, dan Inpago 6 ditata dalam Rancangan Acak Kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa varietas Situ Patenggang memiliki pertumbuhan dan komponen hasil yang baik. Situ Patenggang memberikan hasil tertinggi yaitu 4,47 ton ha-1 dan berbeda nyata dengan varietas lainnya. Varietas Situ Patenggang merupakan varietas yang sangat potensial untuk dikembangkan di Aceh Besar. The Identification Some Upland Rice Superior Varieties in Aceh BesarABSTRACT. New varieties of rice is one of the most innovative technology for the most easily adopted by farmers because the technology is cheap and very practical. Adaptation of varieties is needed to know rice performance new superior variety of upland rice can be adaptation in Aceh Besar. A field experiment was conducted at Farmer Farm, to screen suitable upland rice varieties in Aceh Besar District on dry season 2012. Five upland rice varieties ei, Tuwoti, Situ Patenggang, Situ Bagendit, Limboto, and Inpago 6 were evaluated in randomized block design with three replications. The result shows that the performance of rice varieties Situ Patenggang in vegetative stage of growth and yield component are very good. The upland rice variety Situ Patenggang produced the highest grain yield of 4,47 ton ha-1and it was significantly superior to other rice varieties. Varieties Situ Patenggang potential to be developed in Aceh Besar.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Efektivitas herbisida dalam mengendalikan gulma sangat ditentukan oleh dosis herbisida.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis yang tepat untuk mengendalikan gulma pada tanaman jagung. Dosis herbisida campuran atrazina dan mesotriona yang digunakan adalah: 0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,50; 2,0 dan 2,50 L bahan dagang ha-1. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap.  Peubah yang diamati adalah: persentase pengendalian gulma, populasi gulma, jenis gulma, bobot kering gulma teki, bobot kering gulma rumput, dan bobot kering gulma berdaun lebar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis herbisida campuran sebanyak 0,5 L  bahan dagang ha-1 dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma serta menurunkan populasi gulma, jenis gulma, bobot kering gulma teki, bobot kering gulma rumput, dan bobot kering gulma berdaun lebar. The Application of some Dosages of  Mixture Atrazine and Mesotrione Herbicides on Corn: I. Weed Characteristics ABSTRACT. Herbicide effectivity for weed control depends on herbicide dosages.  This research conducted to find dosage for weed control on corn. Mixture herbicide of atrazine and mesotrione dosages were: 0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.50; 2.0 and 2.50 L formulation ha-1. Completely Randomized Design was used.  Variables were: weed control percentage, weed population, weed species, dry weight of sedges, dry weight of grasses, and dry weight of broad leaves. The result showed were herbicide dosages of 0.5 L formulation ha-1could increasing weed control percentages, decreasing of weed population, weed species, dry weight of sedges, dry weight of grasses, and dry weight of broad leaves.

Abstract

Test of resistance of some varieties of corn (Zea mays L.) on leaf rust (Puccinia polysora Underw.)on lowland. The aim of the research was to know the resistance of some varieties of corn (Z. mays)on the leaf rust (P. polysora) on lowland. The research was conducted at Tanjung Selamat village,Medan. The research used cluster random design with ten treatments and three repetitions. Theresults of the research showed that the varieties of resistance were found in the varieties of Pioneer12, Bisi 12, Bisi 12, SHS 2. SHS 12, and DK 3. Tolerant varieties were found in the varieties ofPioneer 23, BISI 2, NK 22, and NK 99. The highest production was found in BISI 12 (6.51 tons/ha)and the lowest production was found in Pioneer 23 (4.02 tons/ha).Keywords : varieties of corn, Puccinia polysora Underw., leaf rust, varieties of resistance

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Efektivitas herbisida dalam mengendalikan gulma sangat ditentukan oleh faktor jenis dan dosis herbisida.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan jenis dan dosis yang tepat untuk mengendalikan gulma pada tanaman kedelai kultivar argomulyo. Jenis herbisida yang digunakan adalah: clomazone dan pendimethalin, sedangkan dosis yang digunakan adalah: 0; 0,75; 1.50; dan 2,25 kg b.a.ha-1. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok bifaktorial.  Peubah yang diamati adalah: persentase pengendalian gulma, persentase penutupan gulma, dan jenis gulma. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis herbisida sebanyak 2,25 kg b.a.ha-1 dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma Cleome rutidospermae dan Ipomoea triloba serta menurunkan persentase penutupan gulma. Herbisida pendimethalin dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma Cleome rutidospermae.The Application of Herbicide Clomazone and Pendimethalin on Argomulyo Cultivar of Soybean: I. Weed CharacteristicABSTRACT. The effectiveness of herbicide to control weeds is determined by type and dosage of herbicide.  This research aimed was to study the accurate type and dosage of herbicide to control weeds on soybean of argomulyo cultivar. Herbicide type and dosage tested were clomazone and pendimethalin, and 0; 0.75; 1.50; and 2.25 kg a.e.ha-1 respectively. To understand the effect of both factors on the effectiveness of herbicide, Randomized Completely Block Design was employed.  The variables observed were weed control percentage, weed coverage percentage, and weed species. The result showed that application 2.25 kg a.e.ha-1 of herbicide increase the percentage of weed control on Cleome rutidospermae and Ipomoea triloba but decreases weed coverage percentage. Meanwhile pendimethalin herbicide simply raises the control percentage of Cleome rutidospermae.

Abstract

ABSTRAK. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji pengaruh dosis herbisida glifosat dan paraquat pada sistem TOT terhadap sifat kimia tanah, karakteristik gulma serta hasil tanaman kedelai. Rancangan yang  digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) faktorial yang terdiri dari 2 (dua) faktor yaitu dosis dan herbisida dengan pengulangan sebanyak 3 (tiga) kali. Peubah yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah sifat kimia tanah, karakteristik gulma, dan komponen hasil dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semua dosis dan jenis herbisida memberikan peningkatan pH, N-total tanah, dosis 1,50 kg b.a. ha-1 memberikan nilai K-dd yang lebih baik dibandingkan dosis 0,75 dan 2,25 kg ha-1. Dosis 2,25 kg b.a. ha-1 meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma dan bobot kering gulma yang lebih rendah, meningkatkan komponen hasil dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Herbisida glifosat dan paraquat memiliki kemampuan yang sama dalam memperbaiki sifat kimia tanah, meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma dan menurunkan bobot kering gulma serta meningkatkan komponen hasil dan hasil tanaman kedelai. Interaksi antara dosis 2,25 kg b.a. ha-1 dan herbisida glifosat memberikan nilai persentase pengendalian gulma yang lebih tinggi dan bobot kering gulma yang lebih rendah.The Application of Several Dosage Herbicide Glyphosate and Paraquat in No-Tillage System and Its Influence on Soil Chemical Properties, Weed Characteristics, and Soybean YieldABSTRACT. This study aims to assess the effect of dose of herbicide glyphosate and paraquat on the NT system to soil chemical properties, weeds characteristics of soybean yield. The design used is a randomized completely block design (RBD) factorials consisting of 2 (two) factors herbicide and dose with 3 (three)  replication times. The variables properties of chemical, characteristics of weed, components and yield of soybean. The study results showed that all doses and types of herbicides provided increased pH, total soil-N, 1.50 kg dose ba ha-1 gave the value of K-dd are better than the doses of 0.75 and 2.25 kg ha-1. 2.25 kg dose b.a. ha-1 increased the percentage of weed control and dry weight weed is lower, improving yield and yield components of soybean. Herbicide glyphosate and paraquat have the same ability in improving soil chemical properties, improve weed control and reduce the percentage of dry weight of weeds and increase yield and components and yield of soybean. Interaction between 2.25 kg dose b.a. ha-1 and the herbicide glyphosate give a percentage higher weed control and dry weight weed is lower
