Abstract

This study aims to find a model for children’s contemporary fiction to improve the literacy of the fifth grade students of elementary schools. It employed a qualitative hermeneutics design. The data resources were children’s contemporary fiction books and responses of the fifth grade students of elementary schools. The data were collected through content analysis and analytic reflection. The findings show that: (a) the students’ responses are positive; (b) the books have a single, simple, and linear plot/narrative structure, have a dramatic and narrative style, and have various themes and values; and (c) children’s contemporary fiction contributes to the literacy improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to describe structural-semiotic characteristics of D. Zawawi Imron’s poems. This study employed a qualitative descriptive hermeneutic analysis. The findings show that D. Zawawi Imron’s poems are characterized by (1) the diction comprising the use of concrete and connotative words related to natural, social, and spiritual environments; (2) figures of speech dominated by metaphors, followed by personifications and similes; (3) descriptive, periphrastic, paradoxical, symbolic, climactic, and ironical language styles; and (4) tactile, visual, dynamic, and auditory imagery. The diction contributes to the creationof figures of speech and language styles and both contribute to the imagery creation. The semiotic characteristics are related to empirical facts as follows: (1) most poems are indices, (2) few poems are icons, and (3) no poem is a symbol. In the relationship between titles and contents of the poems, the titles serve as indices and icons for the contents, whilesymbols are only metaphorical words/phrases.

Abstract

AbstractThis study aims to develop a model for the learning of early reading-writing to improvestudents’ reading-writing competencies. The research data were the results of a studyof an early reading-writing curriculum, those of a survey on the implementation of andsuggestions for the learning of early reading-writing at elementary schools, and those ofa tryout of the prototype of a model for the learning of early reading-writing. The studyproduced: (1) a model of a guideline for the learning of early reading-writing dividedinto the essence of early reading-writing and strategies in the learning of early readingwritingin the emergent literacy perspective and (2) a model of an early reading-writingmagazine using the performance standard with language characteristics, contents, andtechniques.

Abstract

This research aims to produce teaching materials writing pantun contains cultural value with word tree strategy for junior high school students. The model used in this research and development is the development model of 4D Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semmel (1974). This development research produces writing materials writing pantun contains cultural value with the strategy of word tree in the form of a book equipped with a guide book for teachers. Based on expert test results, this teaching materials is feasible and ready to be implemented.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan bahan ajar menulis pantun bermuatan nilai budaya dengan strategi pohon kata untuk siswa kelas VII SMP. Model yang digunakan dalam penelitian dan pengembangan ini adalah model pengembangan 4D Thiagarajan, Semmel, dan Semmel (1974). Penelitian pengembangan ini menghasilkan bahan ajar menulis menulis pantun bermuatan nilai budaya dengan strategi pohon kata dalam bentuk buku disertai dengan buku panduan untuk guru. Berdasarkan hasil uji ahli, bahan ajar ini layak dan siap diimplementasikan.

Abstract

Proposisi Puisi Karya Anak Sekolah DasarAbstract: Proposition can be utilized for reviewing schemata and language skills of children, either in the form of a sentence or the linnes of poetry. Arguments and predication (proposition’s content) in poetry by children shows logical relationship, with associative relationship and or colocative. Single proposition is dominant showed up on a poetry by children. Relation between proposition have formed coherence in poetry by children, but on some poetry by children in class IV there is still a relationship between proposition is not intact. Creativity of poetry writing demonstrated by the use of abstract proposition, which leads the charge on a figurative language poetic elements, imagery, and retorical device (appeared in small number). In addition, the lopoping sound into the uniqueness which appeared intensively. Proposition of poetry by children shows the development that looks through the use of the word concrete—abstract, colocative—associative relationship, and sintag-matic—paradigmatic relationship.Key Words: proposition, argument, predication, poetry by childrenAbstrak: Proposisi dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menelaah skemata dan keterampilan berbahasa anak, baik dalam bentuk kalimat maupun larik-larik puisi. Argumen dan predikasi (muatan proposisi) dalam puisi karya anak menunjukkan hubungan logis, dengan relasi kolokatif dan atau asosiatif. Proposisi tunggal muncul secara dominan pada puisi-puisi karya anak. Hubungan antarproposisi telah menben-tuk koherensi dalam puisi karya anak, tetapi pada beberapa puisi karya anak kelas IV masih terdapat hubungan antarproposisi yang tidak utuh. Kreativitas penulisan puisi karya anak ditunjukkan dengan penggunaan muatan proposisi abstrak yang mengarah pada unsur puitik berupa bahasa figuratif, ci-traan, dan sarana retorika (muncul dalam jumlah kecil). Selain itu, perulangan bunyi menjadi keunikan yang muncul secara intensif. Proposisi puisi karya anak menunjukkan perkembangan yang terlihat melalui penggunaan kata konkret—abstrak, relasi kolokatif—asosiatif, dan relasi sintagmatik—para-digmatik. Abstract

Interest in reading the beginning of elementary school students is very important to support the achievement of a lesson. Based on the researchers tried to assess in an objective study. The purpose of this study to describe the interest in reading beginning with a picture story in the first grade SDN Purwantoro 6 Malang. This research method using descriptive method with qualitative approach. The subjects were students of class I, amounting to 3 students. The results of this study concluded that students interest in reading beginning with picture stories are very helpful in the learning process. Response and enthusiasm of the students look good, the students enjoy learning, so that students gain meaningful learning experiences.Minat membaca permulaan siswa sekolah dasar sangat penting untuk menunjang tercapainya suatu pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hal tersebut peneliti mencoba untuk mengkaji dalam suatu tujuan penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan minat membaca permulaan dengan cerita bergambar di kelas I SDN Purwantoro 6 Kota Malang. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptifdengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas I yang berjumlah 3 siswa. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa minat membaca permulaan siswa dengan cerita bergambar sangat membantu dalam proses pembelajaran. Respon dan antusiasme siswa terlihat baik, siswa lebih senang dalam belajar, sehingga siswa memperoleh pengalaman belajar yang bermakna.

Abstract

The purpose of this study, the learning module generates a text producing stories for SMA/SMK. The specific objectives of this study are (1) to develop products in the form of text materials producing short stories, short story text example, training, evaluation, and reflection and (2) describe the results of the test result validity and effectiveness of the product. This type of research is the development of research development model modified Borg & Gall. Modules developed in three parts. The first section contains text comprehension of short stories, the second part contains the steps to write short stories, and three short stories edited text.Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu menghasilkan modul pembelajaran memproduksi teks cerpen untuk siswa SMA/SMK. Tujuan khusus penelitian ini, yaitu (1) mengembangkan produk berupa materi memproduksi teks cerpen, contoh teks cerpen, latihan,evaluasi, dan refleksi dan (2) mendeskripsikan hasil validitas dan hasil uji keefektifan produk. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pengembangan dengan model pengembangan modifikasi Borg & Gall. Modul yang dikembangkan terdiri atas tiga bagian. Bagian pertama berisi tentang pemahaman teks cerpen, bagian kedua berisi langkah-langkah menulis cerpen, dan ketiga menyunting teks cerpen.

Abstract

Thematic already applied learning in elementary school. Implementation of necessary management class when the learning process to achieve learning objectives. The purpose of this research describe the management class in thematic learning in elementary school so as to provide the knowledge related to being classroom management while in the field. The results of this research, namely thematic learning in classroom management can be divided into two classroom management in physical and non physical. Management of class in a non physical includes caring, assertiveness, modeling, and high expectations. While the physical classroom management include setting the position of the Board, seating modification, mading and setting the ventilation in the classrooms. Therefore, this research can be used as references in managing class on thematic learning.Pembelajaran tematik sudah diterapkan di Sekolah Dasar. Dalam implementasinya diperlukan pengelolaan kelas saat proses pembelajaran untuk mencapai tujuan pembelajaran. Tujuan penelitian ini mendeskripsikan pengelolaan kelas dalam pembelajaran tematik di Sekolah Dasar sehingga dapat memberikan pengetahuan berkaitan dengan yang menjadi pengelolaan kelas ketika berada di lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini yaitu pengelolaan kelas dalam pembelajaran tematik dapat dibagi menjadi dua yaitu pengelolaan kelas secara non fisik dan fisik. Pada pengelolaan kelas secara non fisik meliputi kepedulian, ketegasan, modeling, dan harapan yang tinggi. Sedangkan pengelolaan kelas secara fisik meliputi meliputi pengaturan posisi papan tulis, modifikasi tempat duduk, mading dan pengaturan ventilasi dalam ruang kelas. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pustaka dalam mengelola kelas pada pembelajaran tematik.

Abstract

The purpose of this research to know the effect of NHT method on learning outcomes of knowledge on thematic learning class V SDN Dinoyo 2 Malang. This type of research is a quasi-experimental design with nonequivalent control design. The population that is all class V with 3 parallel classes totaling 94 students. Sampling a random way as the experimental class VA and VB as the control class. The instrument used is a multiple choice test with a number of about 54 items. Data were analyzed using independent t test aided IBM SPSS 21. The results of this study indicate that there are significant NHT methods on learning outcomes of knowledge on thematic learning class V SDN Dinoyo 2 Malang. Suggestions for teachers for the implementation of NHT method as a means of student facilities achieve maximum learning knowledge.Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode NHT terhadap hasil belajar pengetahuan pada pembelajaran tematik kelas V SDN Dinoyo 2 Kota Malang. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu kuasi eksperimen dengan desain nonequivalent kontrol design. Populasi yang digunakan yaitu seluruh kelas V dengan 3 kelas paralel berjumlah 94 siswa. Pengambilan sampel dengan cara acak VA sebagai kelas eksperimen dan VB sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes pilihan ganda dengan jumlah soal 54 butir soal. Analisa data yang digunakan adalah uji T independent berbantuan IBM SPSS 21. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh metode NHT terhadap hasil belajar pengetahuan pada pembelajaran tematik kelas V SDN Dinoyo 2 Kota Malang. Saran bagi guru untuk dilaksanakannya metode NHT sebagai sarana fasilitas siswa mencapai hasil belajar pengetahuan yang maksimal.

Abstract

This research was conducted in order to determine how to use picture books as a source of reading students learning Indonesian in elementary students. This study uses a descriptive qualitative research design. The data collection was done by using participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Activity data analysis starts from the reduction of the data (data reduction), presentation of data (data display), until the conclusion / verification (conclusion drawing / verification). Based on data analysis, obtained 3 conclusion of the study as follows: (1) the use of picture books was quite effective interest students in learning. (2) The problem faced by teachers, availability of picture books are still a few, as well as the lack of variety bukucerita display, (3) a solution to overcome existing obstacles teachers reproduce themselves by means of picture books and teachers look for variations replicate their own stories on the internet.Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana pemanfaatan buku cerita bergambar sebagai sumber bacaan siswa pada pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada siswa SD. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Kegiatan analisis data dimulai dari reduksi data, penyajian data, hingga kesimpulan/verifikasi. Berdasarkan analisis data, diperoleh 3 kesimpulan hasil penelitian sebagai berikut: (1) pemanfaatan buku cerita bergambar sudah cukup efektif menarik minat siswa dalam pembelajaran, (2) kendala yang dialami oleh guru yaitu ketersediaan buku cerita bergambar yang masih sedikit, serta kurangnya variasi buku cerita bergambar, (3) solusi untuk mengatasi kendala yang ada guru memperbanyak sendiri buku cerita bergambar dengan cara menggandakannya  yaitu guru mencari variasi cerita lain di internet.
