Abstract

Chitosan, a product of chitin deacetylation, has been used for various purposes in various fields of agriculture, food, biomedical, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals. The use of chitosan in a pure state is limited by its poorly soluble in various solvents other than in aqueous weak acids. Moreover, chitosan films are brittle and fragile that it is difficult to use in the form of films for various applications. Long-term goal of this research is to obtain chitosan which is elastic by the addition of plasticizer. The specific target of this research is to obtain information about the effect of adding RBDPO and glycerol as plasticizer on the characteristics of the mechanical properties of chitosan. The research method was carried out in the laboratory experiments. Design research is conducted on a wide variety of compositions blending chitosan and plasticizer of RBDPO and glycerol on the mechanical properties including tensile strength and elongation. The relsulted blended sample is cast in the form of thin films and characterized by tensile strength test. The test results showed that the mechanical properties of tensile strength reaches optimum conditions where the plasticizer content of 30%, while the extension increases with increasing of plasticizer content.

Abstract

Production of extracellular lipase by Candida cylindracea DSMZ 2031  was studied in a seven liters batch bioreactor, using palm oil (PO), palmitic acid (PA), lauric acid (LA), olive oil (OO) and cooking oil (CO) as carbon source.   The effect of  carbon and nitrogen sources  were studied by measuring the lipase activity.  The maximum lipase activity was found to be 12.7 kLU on palm oil as carbon source, urea as nitrogen sources and at 36 h inoculum age. This was achieved at a temperature of 30o C, pH of 6.0, agitation speed of 500 rpm and aeration of 1vvm.

Abstract

In the Holy Qur’an there are several narratives that tell past events along with their actors and their places such as the narrative of prophets, past events that can occur again in the future such as the narrative on the killing of Habil by Qabil, or symbolic narrative describing no event but can occur in the future. The main objective of the expression of narrative in the Holy Qur’an is to spread Islamic mission. This can be seen from Qura’nic instruction to people to observe the creation of the universe, past events and questions asked, all of which order them to think of themselves and  their surroundings. Kata kunci : Alquran, kisah, dakwah

Abstract

Poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) is very attractive synthetic polymer due to its properties, such as a high permeability, the lack of toxicity, and also biodegradability. However, it has limited application because of low melting point (60 °C), high crystallinity, and brittleness. The aim of the experiments is designed to improve the properties of PCL by formation of their polymers with 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propandiol monomers with various chain length as a raw material to prepare poly(urethane-ester). These polymers were synthesized by a ring-opening polymerization of 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propandiol and ε-caprolactone monomers in various composition in the presence of 1-hydroxy-3-chloro-tetraisobuthyldistanoxane as a catalyst. Polymers were characterized by analysis of functional groups (FTIR), microstructure (1H and 13C NMR), viscosity, hydroxyl number, and also melting point of polymers (DSC). Based on the structure analysis indicate that polymerization of 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propandiol and ε-caprolactone monomers produced polymers with various molecular weights, which depend on the ratio of ε-caprolactone / 2,2-dimethyl-1,3-propandiol used in polymerization. The reactivity of CL monomer decreases to the active site of polymers with longer chain size. The melting points of polymers increase with the increasing of ε-caprolactone composition used in polymerization, whereas hydroxyl number decreases.

Abstract

We have developed a model for friction in a dry granular material,that allows multiple reversible transitions between stick and slipcontacts. The ultimate purpose of the model is to simulatedeposition processes. During these processes a pile structure isformed that is repeatedly destabilised by addition of new material.The present model does not yet include rotation. The model is testedfor a few simple systems. Finally we perform more extensive granulardynamics simulations using the model for 2D and 3D systems. Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian dengan judul “Penerapan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif Tipe Teams Assisted Individualization (TAI) Untuk Meningkatkan Hasil Belajar Peserta Didik Pada Materi Konsep Mol Kelas X SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh Tahun Ajaran 2015/2016”, tujuan penelitian ini untuk menentukan hasil belajar, aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan peserta didik kelas X IPA 2 SMA Negeri 8 Banda Aceh setelah mempelajari materi konsep mol dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe TAI. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kuantitatif. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui soal pilihan ganda dan lembar penilaian sikap untuk mengukur hasil belajar peserta didik, lembar aktivitas untuk mengukur keaktifan peserta didik, dan angket untuk mengetahui tanggapan peserta didik terhadap model pembelajaran. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah penerapan model TAI adalah sebesar 91,7, persentase keaktifan peserta didik sebesar 93,2 dengan kategori sangat baik dan peserta didik memberi tanggapan positif terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran TAI dengan persentase tanggapan positif sebesar 83,8. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran TAI dapat diterapkan pada pembelajaran materi konsep mol dengan hasil belajar tuntas secara klasikal, aktivitas peserta didik berada pada kategori sangat baik dan mendapatkan tanggapan positif dari peserta didik dengan kategori baik. Kata Kunci: Teams

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui deksametason yang diberikan per oral dengan dosis berbeda pada mencit (Mus muscullus) mempunyai pengaruh terhadap kadar glukosa darah. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri atas empat kelompok perlakuan. Kelompok I (K1) diberi akuades (kontrol negatif), kelompok II (P1) diberi deksametason dosis 0,014 mg/20 g BB, kelompok III (P2) diberi deksametason dosis 0,042 mg/20 g BB, kelompok IV (P3) diberi deksametason dosis 0,070 mg/20 g BB, diberi perlakuan selama 5 hari. Hasil penelitian menggunakan analisis varian searah (One Way Anava) pada masing-masing kelompok perlakuan K1,P1,P2,P3 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan bermakna (p<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil uji lanjut Duncan kelompok K1,P1,P2 tidak menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna  (p>0,05). Sedangkan pada hasil uji lanjut pos hoc multiple comparison LSD dan Bunferroni kelompok K1 dan P1 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna dengan kelompok P3 (p<0,05), serta kelompok P3 menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang bermakna  dengan kelompok P1 dan K1 (p<0,05). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian deksametason dosis 0,07 mg/ 20 g BB per oral pada mencit selama 5 hari perlakuan dapat meningkatkan kadar glukosa darah mencit.Kata kunci :  Deksametason, kadar glukosa darah, hati dan pankreas. ABSTRACTThe aims of this research was to find out the dexamethasone given orally with different dose has an effect on blood glucose level in mice (Mus muscullus). The research used a complete randomized design (RAL), which consist of four treatment groups. Group I (K1) was given aquadest (negative control), group II (P1) dexamethasone dosage given was 0,014 mg / 20 g BB, group III (P2) dexamethasone dosage given was 0,042 mg / 20 g BB, group IV (P3) dexamethasone dosage given was 0,070 mg / 20 g BB, during 5 days. The results of the analysis using variant (One Way Anova) showed that the each treatment group K1, P1, P2, P3 show the significant distinction (p <0,05). Based on the results of Duncan test between groups K1, P1, P2 didn’t show the significant distinction (p>0.05). While on the result post hoc multiple comparison LSD and Bunferroni test group K1 and P1 with group P3 show the significant distinction (p<0,05) and group P3 with group P1 and K1 show the significant distinction (p<0,05). Based on the results of this research concluded that the doses of dexamethason given orally 0,07 mg/ 20 g BB during 5 days treatment could be increase blood glucose levels in mice.Keywords :  Dexamethasone, blood glucose levels, liver and pancreas.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPengembangan bioplastik merupakan salah satu solusi alternatif untuk mengatasi permasaalahan sampah. Bioplastik merupakan plastik yang diproduksi dari  bahan-bahan yang dapat diperbaharui seperti pati talas dan kitosan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi pati talas, kitosan dengan minyak jarak sebagai bahan pemlastis terhadap uji kuat tarik, ketahanan bioplastik dalam pelarut dan kemampuan degradasi bioplastik. Pembuatan bioplastik dilakukan dengan cara blending pati talas dan kitosan pada berbagai komposisi dengan minyak jarak sebanyak 15% dari total campuran pati talas dan kitosan. Karakterisasi bioplastik dilakukan dengan uji ketahanan bioplastik dalam pelarut, uji kuat tarik dan uji biodegradasi plastik dengan menggunakan bakteri Psedomonas aeroginosa. Hasil analisis ketahanan bioplastik dalam pelarut air, etanol dan HCl (pH=5) dari yang paling tinggi ke yang paling rendah adalah komposisi pati talas/kitosan (50/50), pati talas/kitosan (40/60) dan  pati talas/kitosan (60/40). Hasil uji kuat tarik bioplastik komposisi pati talas/kitosan (40/60) memiliki nilai kuat tarik tertinggi yaitu 11.740 MPa, sedangkan yang terendah pada komposisi pati talas/kitosan (60/40) dengan nilai kuat tarik sebesar 7.470 MPa. Persen elongasi terbesar terdapat pada bioplastik dengan komposisi pati talas/kitosan (60/40) yaitu 18.905% dan persen elongasi terendah pada komposisi pati talas/kitosan (50/50) yaitu sebesar 14.028%. Hasil pengamatan terhadap laju degradasi bioplastik dari yang paling cepat terdegradasi ke yang paling lambat terdegradasi secara berturut-turut adalah komposisi pati talas/kitosan (40/60), komposisi pati talas/kitosan (60/40) dan  komposisi pati talas/kitosan (50/50). Kata Kunci: Bioplastik, kitosan, pati talas, minyak jarak THE DEVELOPMENT AND CHARACTERIZATION OF BIOPLASTIC FROM CHITOSAN, TARO STARCH (Colocasia esculenta) AND CASTOR OIL ABSTRACTBioplastic development is one of the alternative solutions to overcome the problem of waste. Bioplastic is plastics produced from renewable ingredients such as taro starch and chitosan. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of composition of taro starch and chitosan with castor oil as a plasticizer toward tensile strength test, bioplastic resistance in solvent and bioplastic degradation ability. Bioplastic was made by blending taro starch and chitosan on various compositions which is 15% of them is castor oil. Bioplastic characterization was performed by bioplastic resistance test in solvent, tensile strength test and plastic biodegradation test by using Psedomonas aeroginosa bacteria. The results of analysis of bioplastic resistance in water solvent, ethanol and HCl (pH=5) from highest to lowest were taro starch/chitosan (50/50), taro starch/chitosan (40/60) and taro starch/chitosan (60/40). The tensile strength test of bioplastic composition of taro starch/chitosan (40/60) has the highest tensile strength value of 11,740 MPa, while the lowest is the composition of taro starch/chitosan (60/40) with tensile strength value of 7,470 MPa. The largest percentage of elongation was found in bioplastic with taro starch/chitosan composition (60/40) that was 18.905% and the lowest percentage of elongation in taro starch/chitosan composition (50/50) that was 14.028%. The results of observations on the rate of bioplastic degradation from the fastest degraded to the slowest degraded successively were taro starch/chitosan composition (40/60), taro starch/chitosan composition (60/40) and starch/chitosan composition (50 / 50). Keywords: bioplastic, chitosan, taro starch, castor oil

Abstract

ABSTRAK Telah dilakukan penelitian tentang pembuatan plastik biodegradable dari kitosan, pati bonggol pisang (Musa paradisiaca,L), dan minyak jarak (Castor Oil). Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh komposisi kitosan dan pati bonggol pisang terhadap uji ketahanan berbagai pelarut terhadap plastik yang dihasilkan, mengetahui pengaruh komposisi kitosan dan pati bonggol pisang terhadap sifat mekanik plastik yang dihasilkan, dan mengetahui kemampuan biodegradasi film plastik dari kitosan, pati bonggol pisang dan minyak jarak. Karakterisasi plastik biodegradable bonggol pisang yang dilakukan ada tiga, yaitu uji kekuatan tarik, uji ketahanan pelarut dan uji biodegradasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bioplastik bonggol pisang untuk semua variasi menghasilkan karakteristik yang berbeda- beda. Hasil pengujian kuat tarik untuk semua variasi berkisar antara (9,857-15,987) Mpa, elongasi terbaik terdapat pada variasi pa/ki 50/50 yaitu 39,338 % dan nilai modulus young terbaik terdapat pada variasi pa/ki 40/60 yaitu 12,278MPa. Analisis uji ketahanan pelarut menunjukan bahwa bioplastik bonggol pisang kurang baik apabila berinteraksi dengan air, zat bersifat asam dan zat yang bersifat basa hal ini dikarenakan persentase terbaik plastik bonggol pisang belum memenuhi standar ASTM yaitu 99,9 %, dimana persentase terbaik pada uji ketahanan terhadap air, HCl, dan NaOH terdapat pada variasi pa/ki 40/60 berturut-turut adalah (88,836%), (86,207%), dan (89,729%). Plastik pati bonggol pisang mulai terurai pada hari ke-10 dan pada hari ke-20 hampir semua bagian plastik sudah bercampur dengan medium dan tidak bisa diambil lagi. Kata Kunci: Plastik Biodegradable,Pati Bonggol Pisang Kitosan, Minyak Jarak, Karakterisasi ABSTRACTA study has been conducted on the production of biodegradable plastic from chitosan, banana tuber starch (Musa paradisiaca, L), and Castor Oil. The purpose of this study is to find out the effect of chitosan composition and banana tuber to the resistance test of various solvents to the resulting plastic, to find out the effect of chitosan composition and banana tuber on the mechanical properties of plastic produced, and find out the biodegradation ability of plastic film from chitosan, banana tuber and castor oil. The characterization of biodegradable plastic of banana, banana tuber performed in three ways namely tensile strength test, solvent endurance test and biodegradation test. The results of study show that variuos  banana bio-plastic banana tuber produce different characteristics. The result of tensile strength test for all variations ranged between (9,857-15,987) Mpa, the best elongation found in pa / ki 50/50 that is 39,338% and the best modulus young value was found in pa / ki 40/60 ie 12,278MPa. The analysis of solvent resistance test shows that bio-plastic banana tuber is less good when interacting with water, acidic substances and substances because this percentage of best plastic banana tuer does not meet the ASTM standard namely 99.9%, which the best percentage of water resistance test , HCl, and NaOH are found in variations of pa / ki 40/60 were (88,836%), (86,207%), and (89,729%) respectively. Abstract

 AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian yang berjudul Pembuatan Media Mind Mapping Menggunakan Mindjet Mindmanager pada Materi Konsep Mol di SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat media mind mapping menggunakan software mindjet mindmanager pada materi konsep mol di SMA Negeri 5 Banda Aceh. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif. Modul yang telah divalidasi diberikan kepada siswa sebagai panduan dalam membuat media mind mapping. Persentase yang didapat setelah dilakukan validasi oleh dua validator ahli sebesar 79,95% dengan kategori sangat layak. hasil media yang telah dibuat oleh siswa dinilai dengan hasil yang didapatkan untuk kategori sangat terampil sebesar 20%; terampil sebesar 60%; cukup terampil sebesar 20%, dan tidak terampil sebesar 0%. Lembar tanggapan guru dan tanggapan siswa digunakan sebagai data pendukung dalam penelitian ini. Pengolahan data secara kualitatif dalam bentuk persentase. Persentase guru yang memberikan tanggapan positif sebesar 100%. Persentase siswa yang memberikan tanggapan positif sebesar 94,56% sedangkan yang memberikan tanggapan negatif sebesar 5,44%. Tanggapan negatif siswa dikarenakan siswa belum pernah menggunakan media mind mapping menggunakan software mindjet mindmanager. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa telah mampu membuat media mind mapping menggunakan software mindjet mindmanager.Kata kunci : Mind Mapping, Mindjet Mindmanager, Konsep Mol. AbstractThe study on Mind Mapping Production Using Mindjet MindManager Concept Mole in SMAN 5 Banda Aceh has been conducted. This research aims to muestigate students ability in create A mind of mapping using Mindjet MindManager software on the concept of mole in SMAN 5 Banda Aceh. In order to guide student in create mind mapping using the software, module was prounded. The validation score was found to be 79.95% which is in the decent category. The media made by students was assessed using special instrument and the results obtained for the highly skilled category by 20%; skilled by 60%; enough skilled 20 %, and unskilled at 0%. Sheets responses of teacher and student are used as supportive data in this study. Processing of qualitative data in the form of a percentage. The percentage of teachers who responded positively by 100%. The percentage of students who responded positively by 94.56% while giving negative feedback at 5.44%. The negative responses of students because the students never used mind mapping media use Mindjet MindManager software. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the students have been able to make media mind mapping using Mindjet MindManager software. Keywords: Mind Mapping, Mindjet Mindmanager, Concept Mole.
