Abstract

The propagation of E. mivati local strain was used single cell inoculation.  The objective of this study was to determine the pathogenicity of Eimeria mivati inoculation in broiler chicken by measuring the growth rate, oocysts production and levels of changes in small intestine.  The chickens were devided into two age groups of infection, three and teen days old.  Each group was received 1x104, 1x105   and 1x106  oocysts/chick.  The chichen were raised in wire cages and sampled accordingly.  Data collected was analyzed using analysis of variance. A large number of oocysts production, intestinal villi lesions and depression of growth rate were seen after infection.  Most of the peak production of oocysts were accured after the 9th day of infection.  However, after the peak production of oocysts,  oocysts production decreased extremely.  The choice of parasitic development were in the surface epithelial cells of the villi and the region dominantly effected was the third anterior of small intestine. The result revealed no significant differences regarding photogenicity findings (P>0.05) between chicken aged three and ten days after infected with E. mivati.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh domestikasi terhadap jenis pakan biawak air (Varanus salvator ) dengan pemberian jenis pakan jangkrik dan udang. Dalam penelitian ini digunakan 8 ekor biawak air yang telah didomestikasi (BD), dengan kisaran umur 2-6 bulan dengan berat badan 30-40 g, panjang 20-30 cm dan diberi perlakuan selama 30 hari. Biawak air dibagi ke dalam dua kelompok, kelompok pertama diberikan pakan jangkrik (K I) pada pagi dan sore hari sedangkan kelompok kedua diberikan pakan udang (K II) dengan waktu yang sama. Hasil dari penelitian ini dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis pakan biawak air domestikasi yang dikonsumsi pakan jangkrik adalah 16,47±1,77 g dan pakan udang 11,08±1,18 g tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa domestikasi dari biawak air tidak berpengaruh terhadap jenis pakan.ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of domestication on feeding behavior of water monitor lizard (Varanus salvator) that fed with crickets and shrimps. This study used eight water monitor lizard aged range from 2-6 months, 20-30 cm in long and 30-40 g in weight. The water monitor lizard are divided into two groups, the first groups was given crickets (KI) and the second groups was given shrimps (KII)  in the morning and in the afternoon for 30 days. Data collected was analyzed using t-test. From this studied showed that water monitor lizard consumed crickets and shrimps 16,47±1,77 g and 11,08±1,18 g (P>0,05). The result of the present study show that domestication did not effect types of feed of water monitor lizard

Abstract

This research aimed to determine glucose levels of beagle maintained by Sports Association of Pig Hunting (PORBI) in Kenagarian Mungo Sub-district Luak District Lima Puluh Kota, West Sumatera. Blood samples were collected from 20 beagles. Blood sampling was performed during fasting time and two hours postprandial. Data were analyzed with analysis of Chisquare (x2). The results showed that mean glucose level in the fasting state beagle was 63.45±11.84 mg/dl and two hours postprandial was 93.45±12.52 mg/dl. The statistical test results showed no significant difference (P>0.05) between the frequency of feeding and supplementary feeding on blood glucose levels. To conclude, the average of beagle blood glucose levels is still in normal range. There is a difference in blood glucose between two hours postprandial and a fasting blood glucose levels and the difference between hunting frequency and giving multivitamins injection on blood glucose levels, but there was no difference on blood glucose levels between the frequency feeding and supplemental feeding.Key words: beagle, glucose levels, hunting, multivitamins

Abstract

The aim of this study was to detect the glucose in urine of Canis familiaris as a medical record and  a supporting early diagnostic. Urine of thirty local dogs collected from Lamposi Tigo Nagori, Sumatera Barat. Before feeding, urine was collected individually in the morning two times. This study was doing on January 2016. The strip test was soaked in urine (5-10 ml) for 30 second directly. Data of glucose was analyzed using 4 scale discoloration of semi quantitative striptest. The result showed that glucose was not detected on 25 dogs out of 30 of  C. familiaris. Amount of 5 C. familiaris were detected the presence of glucose with small (100 mg/dl) scale. We concluded that the levels of glucose C. familiaris urine performed on the tolerance limits of glucose level.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui kemampuan ekstrak metanol daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) sebagai analgesik menggunakan metode hot plate. Hewan coba yang digunakan 25 ekor mencit jantan berumur 3 bulan dan berat 25-30 gram. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan split-plot dengan 5 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan. P1 sebagai kontrol negatif diberi akuades, P2 sebagai kontrol positif diberi meloksikam dan P3, P4, dan P5 diberi ekstrak metanol daun kelor masing masing dosis 25 mg/kg bb, 50 mg/kg bb, dan 75 mg/kg bb. Pengujian nyeri pada mencit menggunakan metode hot plate. Respon nyeri diamati pada menit ke 10, 40, 70, 100, dan 130. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kemampuan analgesik di menit ke 10 (t1) kelompok P1, P2, P3, P4 tidak berbeda nyata (P>0,05) terhadap P0 (kontrol), sedangkan di menit ke 40, 70, 100, 130 (t2, t3, t4, t5) berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan kelompok P0. Pada Kelompok P4 di menit ke 100 dan 130 berbeda nyata (P<0,05) terhadap P1. Kesimpulan menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak metanol daun kelor (Moringa oleifera) mempunyai kemampuan sebagai analgesik dan pada dosis 75 mg/kg bb (P4)  memiliki kemampuan yang lebih baik dari meloksikam sebagai analgesik pada mencit.Kata Kunci : Analgesik, Daun kelor, Meloksikam, Hot plate.  ABSTRACT                    This study aimed to determine the ability of metanolic extract of kelor leaf (Moringa oleifera) as an analgesic using hot plate method. There were 25 male mice 3 months old and 25-30 grams weight used in this experiment. This study used a split-plot design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. P1 was a negative control given distilled water, P2 was positive control given meloxicam and P3, P4, and P5 given leaf methanolic extract at 25 mg/kg bb, 50 mg/kg bb, and 75 mg/kg bb each dose. Pain examination on mice was using hot plate method and observed at 10th, 40th, 70th, 100th, and 130th minutes. The results showed that analgesic ability at 10 min (t1) P1, P2, P3, P4 did not differ significantly (P> 0.05) to P0 (control), while at 40 minutes, 70, 100, 130 (t2, t3, t4, t5) were significantly different (P <0.05) with group P0. In group P4 at 100 and 130 minutes was significantly different (P <0.05) against P1. The conclusion showed that methanolic extract of kelor leaf (Moringa oleifera) had analgesic ability and at dose 75 mg / kg bb (P4) had better ability than meloxicam as analgesic in mice.Keywords: Analgesic, Moringa Leaves, Meloxicam, Hot plate.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, aktivitas, hasil belajar serta untuk mengetahui tanggapan peserta didik terhadap penerapan model pembelajaran Osborn pada materi koloid. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu peserta didik kelas XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Indrapuri yang berjumlah 16 orang, yang terdiri dari 14 orang perempuan dan 2 orang laki-laki. Teknik pengumpulan data diperoleh dari observasi, tes tertulis dan angket tanggapan siswa. Intrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, soal tes, dan lembar angket tanggapan siswa.Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan rumus persentase. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh persentase rata-rata aktivitas belajar peserta didik pada pertemuan I sebesar 78.78% dan pada pertemuan II sebesar 87.71%. Persentase ketuntasan hasil belajar siswa secara klasikal  sebesar 81,25%. Persentase rata-rata angket tanggapan peserta didik sebesar 93.12% termasuk katagori sangat baik. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa  penerapan model pembelajaran Osborn dapat mengetahui hasil belajar siswa pada materi koloid.Kata Kunci : Osborn, hasil belajar, aktivitas siswa, respon siswa, dan koloid This study aims to determine, activity, learning outcomes and to determine the response of learners to the application of learning models Osborn on colloidal material. The type of research used is descriptive with qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are students of class XI IPA 1 SMAN 1 Indrapuri which amounted to 16 people, consisting of 14 women and 2 men. Technique of collecting data obtained from observation, written test and student response questionnaire. The instruments used are student activity observation sheets, test questions, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis technique is done by using formula percentage. The results of this study obtained the average percentage of learning activities of learners at the first meeting of 78.78% and at the second meeting amounted to 87.71%. Percentage mastery of student learning outcomes in classical equal to 81,25%. The average percentage of students questionnaire responses of 93.12% includes an excellent category. The result of this research concludes that the application of learning model Osborn can know student learning result on colloidal material. Kata kunci : Osborn, learning, student activity, student response and colloidal

Abstract

INTRODUCTION Contusion is a type of injury caused by a collision of the body with a blunt object followed by damage to the soft parts of the body, bone damage, bleeding and swelling. The tissue Injuries cause an inflammatory or inflammatory reaction, in which the inflammatory reaction is followed by pain (dolor), heat (kolor), red (rubor), swelling (tumor), and impaired function in the area around the wound (fungsiolesa). The Inflammatory reactions are the result of increased capillary permeability and migration of leukocytes to areas of inflamed tissue. The bodys defense process against injury involves cells that infiltrate the wounded areas including neutrophils, macrophages, and lymphocytes. The bodys response to inflammation is characterized by the release of neutrophils from the blood vessels which function as the first defense cells that play a role in phagocytosis of microorganisms and inflammatory cells in the wound. Contusion can be cured by giving anti-inflammatory drugs that aim to relieve pain, slow and prevent the spread of the tissue destruction process.the  Anti-inflammatory drugs are classified into two, namely Non-Steroid Anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs) and Anti-inflammatory Steroids (AIS), a class of anti-inflammatory drugs that have the ability to suppress signs and symptoms of inflammation. The use of anti-inflammatory drugs in humans can cause side effects that are harmful to the body such as ulcers, cardiovascular diseases and osteoporosis, while fot the animals cause the difficulties due to the large variety of species. Therefore, herbal ingredients are developed, one of which is sernai (Wedelia biflora). Sernai has empirical benefits as a medicine for wounds and ulcers , sernai leaf water extracts as antipyretics, antitripanosoma, antimicrobials, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory agents.Sernai contains alkaloids, terpenoids, triterpenoids and flavonoids. The Flavonoid compounds can inhibit the release of arachidonic acid, secretion of lysozyme enzymes from neutrophil cells and endothelial cells and inhibit the proliferation phase and exudation phase of the inflammatory process. If the prostaglandin pathway is inhibited, the the occurrence of local blood vessel vasodilatation will reduces and so a leukocyte infiltration decreases, then it is replaced by macrophages that function to help endothelial cell formation and new blood vessels so that wound healing can take place quickly.

Abstract

AbstrakTelah dilakukan penelitian tentang “Analisis Bioplastik Dari Pati Beras Hitam (Oryza sativa L. indica) - Kitosan Menggunakan Pemlastis Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) Sebagai Bahan Edible film”. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis sifat edible film yang meliputi analisis struktur dengan FTIR menggunakan instrumen Agilent Technologies Cary 630, analisis sifat mekanik dengan IK UTM MCT-2150, dan analisis transmisi uap air. Pati beras hitam dibuat dengan cara menghancurkan beras hitam dengan blender dan mengendapkannya dalam air selama 24 jam. Pembuatan film plastik dilakukan dengan cara melarutkan pati beras hitam, kitosan dan RBDPO dengan larutan asam asetat 2%. Film plastik yang telah kering kemudian dikarakterisasi dengan FTIR, uji kuat tarik dan diuji transmisi uap air. Hasil karakterisasi gugus fungsi dengan FTIR menunjukkan bahwa gugus-gugus fungsi pati, kitosan dan RBDPO berinteraksi secara fisik dan tidak ada reaksi secara kimia hal ini dibuktikan dengan pergeseran bilangan gelombang setiap film plastik. Uji kuat tarik pada edible film pada komposisi pati : kitosan (25% : 75%) sebesar 11,8745 MPa, komposisi pati : kitosan (50% : 50%) sebesar 6,4007 MPa, dan komposisi pati : kitosan (75% : 25%) sebesar 29,1445 MPa, namun berbanding terbalik dengan elongasi, semakin tinggi konsentrasi kitosan yang ditambahkan maka nilai elongasi akan semakin kecil. Uji transmisi uap air pada edible film pada komposisi pati : kitosan (75% : 25%) sebesar 0,02636 g/m2/hari, komposisi pati : kitosan (50% : 50%) sebesar 0,02642 g/m2/hari, dan pada komposisi pati : kitosan (25% : 75%) sebesar 0,01662 g/m2/hari. Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa edible film yang diperoleh memiliki kuat tarik yaitu sebesar 29,1445 Mpa namun nilai elongasi akan semakin kecil seiring dengan penambahan kitosan. Laju transmisi uap air berbanding lurus dengan konsentrasi kitosan dan plasticizer, semakin tinggi konsentrasi kitosan maka laju transmisi uap air akan semakin baik. Uji gugus fungsi pada sampel tidak terdapatnya gugus fungsi baru, hanya terjadi interaksi dibuktikan dengan pergeseran bilangan gelombang. Kata kunci: pati beras hitam, kitosan, RBDPO,edible film, FTIR, transmisi uap airAbstractResearch has been conducted on "Bioplastics Analysis of Black Rice Starch (Oryza sativa L. indica) - Chitosan Using Refined Bleached Deodorized Palm Oil (RBDPO) as Edible Film". The purpose of this study was to analyze the nature of edible film which included structural analysis with FTIR using the Agilent Technologies Cary 630 instrument, mechanical properties analysis with IK UTM MCT-2150, and analysis of water vapor transmission. Black rice starch is made by destroying black rice with a blender and settling it in water for 24 hours. Making plastic films is done by dissolving black rice starch, chitosan and RBDPO with 2% acetic acid solution. The dried plastic film was then characterized by FTIR, tensile strength test and tested for water vapor transmission. The results of functional group characterization with FTIR show that the functional groups of starch, chitosan and RBDPO interact physically and there is no chemical reaction, this is evidenced by the shift in wave number of each plastic film. Tensile strength test on edible film in the composition of starch: chitosan (25%: 75%) of 11.8745 MPa, starch composition: chitosan (50%: 50%) of 6,4007 MPa, and starch composition: chitosan (75%: 25%) of 29.1445 MPa, but it is inversely proportional to elongation, the higher the concentration of chitosan added, the less elongation value will be. Water vapor transmission test on edible film in the composition of starch: chitosan (75%: 25%) of 0.02636 g / m2 / day, starch composition: chitosan (50%: 50%) of 0.02642 g / m2 / day, and in the composition of starch: chitosan (25%: 75%) of 0.01662 g / m2 / day. The results of this study can be concluded that the edible film obtained has a tensile strength that is equal to 29.1445 Mpa but the elongation value will be smaller along with the addition of chitosan. The water vapor transmission rate is directly proportional to the concentration of chitosan and plasticizer, the higher the concentration of chitosan, the better the transmission rate of water vapor. The functional group test in the sample does not have a new functional group, only interaction is evidenced by shifting wave numbers. Keywords: black rice starch, chitosan, RBDPO, edible film, FTIR, water vapor transmission
