Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini; (1) menganalisis peran kepemimpinan Parabela dan dukungan pemerintahdesa; (2) mengevaluasi penerapan komunikasi kelompok pada peran kepemimpinan Parabela dalammengajak masyarakat dalam menjaga kawasan Kaombo pasca kebijakan Otonomi daerah. MetodePenelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Hasil penelitiaan menemukanperan kepemimpinan Parabela pasca kebijakan otonomi daerah masih ada yaitu Parabela sebagaipemberi informasi, pemangku adat, mediator dan pegambil keputusan dalam menjaga kawasan hutanKaombo dan dukungan pemerintah desa masih berjalan di masyarakat. Penerapan komunikasi kelompokpada kepemimpinan Parabela dilaksanakan dalam menjaga kelestarian kawasan hutan Kaombo yangberlangsung sacara alami, di mana Parabela melakukan dua tahap pertemuan kelompok yaitu melakukanpertemuan dengan perangkat adat, yang kedua melibatkan berbagai komponen dalam masyarakatnyaketika mengambil keputusan di Baruga dalam menjaga kawasan hutan Kaombo sebagai bentuk dariimplementasi komunikasi kelompok. Parabela juga menyampaikan pesan-pesan untuk menjagakelestarian hutan Kaombo serta sanksi bagi perusak lingkungan pada saat pesta adat berlangsung, baikitu pesta adat “Sampua Galampa” di Desa Rongi, pesta adat “Pikoela liwu” di Kelurahan Pasarwajo,pesta adat “Pibacua” di Desa Lapandewa, dan pesta adat “Pencucian Payung Siontapina” diPuncak Gunung Siontapina di Desa Labuandiri

Abstract

ABSTRACTCorrelation between Organization Commitment and Job Satisfaction of Farmers as Active LearningFacilitators in Farmers‟ Agriculture and Rural Training Centre (FARTC), West JavaThe objective of the reaserach was to describe farmers‟ characteristics as facilitators and to analyzethe correlation of organization commitment and job satisfaction of farmers as facilitators in learningactivities at Farmers‟ Agriculture and Rural Training Centre (FARTC). The kind of research wassurvey that 140 farmers as facilitators in FARTCs located in 17 districs in West Java Provinceinvolved. 89% farmers as facilitators are male; 42,14% of them are 32 – 43 years old; 42,14% ofthem are high schools as their educational background; 74,27% of them have experiences infarming activities; 84,29% of them have experiences as facilitators during 0 – 10 years. This studyapplied the quantitave method namely the correlation analyze. The result of correlation analyzesshows that the organizational commitment has a positive correlation with job satisfaction offarmers as facilitators significantly (ρ < 0.01). The research results recommend that themanagement team of P4S and local government officers to maintain and increase the organizationalcommitment and job satisfaction of farmers as facilitators simultaneously to achieve theeffectiveness of FARTCs.Keywords: Organization commitment, job satisfaction, farmer facilitatorABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan karakteristik petani fasilitator dan menganalisishubungan komitmen dan kepuasan kerja petani fasilitator pembelajaran di Pusat PelatihanPertanian dan Perdesaan Swadaya (P4S). Jenis penelitian adalah survei dengan melibatkan 140orang petani fasilitator P4S di 17 kabupaten di Jawa Barat. Penelitian menerapkan metodekuantitatif korelasional. Karakteristik petani fasilitator P4S di Jawa Barat diantaranya adalah 89%laki-laki, 40% berusia antara 32-43 tahun, 42,14% berlatar belakang pendidikan formal SLTA/SMK,74,27% memiliki pengalaman berusahatani 0-20 tahun, dan 84,29% menjadi fasilitator 0-10 tahun.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komitmen dan kepuasan kerja petani fasilitator memilikihubungan yang signifikan pada taraf signifikansi 0,01. Disarankan baik untuk pengurus internalP4S dan instansi pemerintah sebagai pembina untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkankomitmen organisasi dan kepuasan kerja petani fasilitator secara simultan dari waktu ke waktuguna mewujudkan P4S yang efektif.Kata Kunci: Komitmen organisasi, kepuasan kerja, petani fasilitator

Abstract

purposes of this study are (1) analyze the leadership of Parabela in Buton Society, (2) analyze the role of leadership of Parabela and local government support in forest conservation by local wisdom approach. The The results showed that the leadership of Parabela in Buton has presented into two different periods namely the period of sultanate and the government period now. At the period of sultanate, Parabela as single elite has the power and authority and also influence which is based on the custom rules. However, recently the presence of Parabela is forest conservation based on local wisdom, apparent from the personated of Parabela as informant, costume functionary, mediator and decisions maker in preserving and maintaining the forest area called Kambo Forest.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the relationship between farmer characteristics including age, education level, farming experience, side income, number of dependent family member, and farmers business scale with the motivation of goat milking in Girikerto Village, Turi District, Sleman Regency. The type of this research was quantitative explanatory, that was the type of research explaining the nature of the relationship and examining the relationship between farmer characteristics with milking motivation. The research method used a household survey of farmers with the help of questionnaires. The number of respondent’s sample used was 56 goat farmers with provisions using the Slovin formula. Sampling technique used Simple Random Sampling. Data were analyzed by Product Moment correlation. The results showed that the variables of age, farming experience, and business scale had a significant relationship with the motivation of goat milking, while the variables of education, side job and a number of dependents had no significant relationship with the motivation of milking. Farmer’s motivation to milk goats could be increased in line with increasing the age and experience of farmers. The motivation of milking goats could also be increased by increasing the number of livestock ownership, especially the ownership of lactating goats.

Abstract

One of the ways in which institutional strengthening among several organizations canbe done through communication. Organizational communication that work well can encourage theachievement of an organizational goal. The case of conversion of agricultural land that occurs inSleman Regency really requires the role of local government institutions so that the rate of landconversion is not higher. In carrying out its role, good communication between governmentinstitutions is needed to strengthen collaboration between institutions in an effort to control therate of conversion of agricultural land in Sleman Regency. Based on this fact, this study aims todescribe how communication organizations working in Sleman Regency government institutionsto strengthen institutions in the agricultural sector in the case of land conversion. This study usesqualitative methods for descriptive purposes. The subjects of this study were several governmentinstitutions in Sleman Regency, namely (1) Sleman Regency Agriculture, Food and FisheriesService, (2) Sleman Regency Land and Spatial Planning Office, (3) Integrated Licensing andInvestment Services Office of Sleman Regency, (4 ) National Land Agency, and (5) RegionalDevelopment Planning Board of Sleman Regency. The results of the study show thatorganizational communication working between several local government institutions forinstitutional strengthening in the case of conversion of agricultural land in Sleman Regency usesorganizational communication with vertical and horizontal direction of communication withwritten and directly formal media with regulative and consultative function.

Abstract

This study examined the level of ecological awareness of the community in Kampung Laut, Cilacap, which is seen from the aspects of sensitivity, responsibility, and cooperation. The selection of Kampung Laut Sub-districtbased on the consideration that it was an area that directly affected by the silting of Segara Anakan Lagoon as well as the implementation area of the Community Empowerment Program. Ecological awareness is a perspective that used as a basis for determining operational limits. Ecological awareness is one of the efforts that should be instilled in society as a form of conservingthe environment. The concept of community development became a supporting theory to analyze results. Survey and focus group discussion (FGD) used as method in this research. Retrieval 76 respondents refer to the sample framework which lists the names of perpetrators and beneficiaries of the Community Empowerment Program. This research was carried out in some hamlets such as Panikel, Bugel, Pelindukan, and Cikerang with the consideration that those hamlets received the Community Empowerment Program. The result of this research showed that the level of ecological awareness of the community in Kampung Laut, Cilacap was in the medium and high category. This showed that the community has a good awareness in caring for and preserving the environment. Efforts to increase the ecological awareness of the people in Laut Kampung Laut pursued by increasing the motivation through trainings in order to raise public awareness to for better environment in the future.
