Abstract

Objectives: The aim of this research was to assess the relationship between total testosterone level and female sexual function based on Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI) among the acceptors of combined oral contraceptive pill. Methods: The research was conducted in BLU of Dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo Hospital and several teaching hospitals in obstetrics and gynecology sections of Medical faculty, Hasanuddin University from October to December 2012. This study assessed sexual function among 60 women as the acceptors of combined oral contraceptive pill. Sexual function was assessed using FSFI questionnaire which had been validated in several countries. This research used cross sectional design and the sample was selected using consecutive sampling method. The data were processed using SPSS with independent t test of the significant level of 0.05. Results: The results of the research reveal that total testosterone level among the acceptors of combined oral contraceptive pill who have impaired sexual function is low. The result of the correlation test between testosterone level and FSFI score indicates a significant level (p<0.05) with a correlation coefficient of (r) = 0.737. The testosterone level of female who have impaired sexual function is significantly different (p<0.05) from women who have normal sexual function. The cut off testosterone level that could indicate the occurrence of sexual dysfunction is 12.4 ng/dl. Conclusion: The total testosterone level among the acceptors of combined oral contraceptive pill who have impaired sexual function is lower than others who have no impaired sexual function. Keywords: combined oral contraceptive pill, FSFI, sexual function, total testosterone level

Abstract

ABSTRACTStudent organizations (ORMAWA) are a place for students to develop interests, talents, skills and social abilities. Research shows that ORMAWA provides benefits for students such as training leadership, time management, networking, social skills, problem-solving and conflict management and being able to increase learning motivation. STMIK STIKOM Indonesia views ORMAWA had an important role in student personal development. Currently, STMIK STIKOM Indonesia had 32 ORMAWA who obliged to guided and supervised. STMIK STIKOM Indonesia has difficulties in knowing the conditions and assessing ORMAWA because administrative management is still manual. The system for managing the administration of student organizations is needed to help institutions guide student organizations. This system will provide information about the condition of ORMAWA. The assessment of the condition of ORMAWA based on member activeness, number of activities, number of participants and discipline on administration. The assessment is done using the Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) method. The results of this study indicate that it has successfully developed an information system for student administration management. Information systems can generate information on activeness of ORMAWA, ORMAWA activities and ORMAWA condition reports with SAW calculations. The saw method is not suitable to be used in determining the conditions of the people. This because the assessment is carried out relative to other ORMAWA conditions. This relative assessment can produce different assessments of the same conditions. Keywords: Simple Additive Weighting, assessment using multi criteria, student organizations, administrative management, information systemsABSTRAKOrganisasi kemahasiswaan (ORMAWA) merupakan wadah mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan minat, bakat, keahlian dan kemampuan sosial.

Abstract

Objective: To compare the effects of Intra cervical and paracervical block with 1% lidocaine for pain management in curettage of incomplete abortion. Method: This study is a prospective study with Randomized Control Trial approach. The samples were 52 pregnant women with gestational age of less than 20 weeks, which diagnosed as having an incomplete abortion and a procedure using any local anesthetic technique. T test was used to calculate the mean VAS score and standard deviation for each group. Fisher Exact test was used to assess the relationship between variable characteristics and the local anesthetic technique. Result: The use of local anesthesia using intra cervical block technique for pain management in incomplete abortion with curettage proved to be more effective in lowering degree of pain than paracervical block techniques. Conclusion: Intracervical block technique as a local anesthetic technique is simpler and relatively safer than paracervical block. This technique can be used extensively in Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Medical Faculty, Hasanuddin University for pain management in curettage.
