Abstract

Peserta didik secara input kurang dalam penguasaan konsep matematika,  utamanya operasi hitung dasar pada bilangan bulat. Beberapa instrumen dan indikasi yang mendukung keadaan tersebut antara lain; 1)    rata-rata nilai  pretes matematika peserta didik baru pada materi operasional dasar  bilangan bulat  disetiap awal tahun pelajaran, tidak lebih dari  5,00;  2) sejak tahun 2005 SMP Negeri 1 Tenggarang menjadi satu-satunya sekolah di kabupaten Bondowoso yang mendapatkan program Bridging Course dari pemerintah pusat didasarkan dari masih rendahnya tingkat kelulusan dan prestasi peserta didiknya. Sampel penelitian adalah  kelas VII C SMP Negeri 1 Tenggarang Tahun Pelajaran 2011/2012. Masalahnya adalah apakah Teknik Taksiran Cermat (TTC) dapat meningkatkan prestasi belajar peserta didik dalam menentukan akar kuadrat bilangan bulat kuadrat sempurna dan akar pangkat tiga bilangan bulat kubik? Pelaksanaan pembelajaran pada kegiatan penelitian ini menggunakan dua skenario pembelajaran yaitu RPP model 1 pada kegiatan inti TM dan RPP model 2 pada kegiatan TM remidial. Hasil pembelajaran dari dua model skenario pembelajaran, berdasarkan pengamatan proses; 1) Eksplorasi; respon peserta didik untuk menjawab pertanyaan kuis dalam waktu tidak lebih dari 3 menit tiap soal ada peningkatan dari 13 % menjadi 54,5 %; Ketepatan menjawab dengan benar soal kuis tidak lebih dari 3 menit tiap soal ada peningkatan dari 60% menjadi 83,3 %; 2) Elaborasi; keaktifan peserta didik dalam kelompok dari kurang aktif menjadi aktif; Ketepatan kelompok dalam mempresentasikan dengan benar soal-soal LKS ada peningkatan dari 40 % menjadi 80 %. Evaluasi keberhasilan pembelajaran; jumlah ketuntasan ada peningkatan dari 21,7 %  menjadi 100 % orang.

Abstract

Abstract : Card sort active learning model is a card sort activity card sort of learning by selecting cards basd on category. Card sort learning model can be used to teach concepts, characteristics, classification, or reviewing information. Active learning model card sort has not give a real phenomenon of all the material studied so it needs to be combined with mind mapping technique. Mind mapping technique makes biological learning easier. In classical, the result of activity in t-test showed that it was very significant because the probability (P) < 0.01. In classical, showed that the score of mean difference on pre-test and post-test of experiment class was higher 11.1 than control class 9.8. While the data of cognitive result (pre-test ,post-test and value assignment) was analysed by ANCOVA test and t test it showed that it was significant because of  the probability (P) < 0.05. The student learning outcomes can also be seen in their affective domain. While the result of t test showed significant by increas with the probability (P) < 0.05. Abstract

Abstract : Academic ability is  a description of students level of knowledge or ability of a material that has been studied. The research method used is learning model ARIAS treatment. This study aims to determine the increase of the learning outcomes of biology. The resuls show that academic skills of students increased from low to medium or good and well improve of the 26%. The results of biological studies also increased in pre-cycle to cycle of 8% and from cycle I to cycle II at 26%. It can be concluded that the ARIAS learning model can increase students’ academic skill and biology result. Key Words : ARIAS method, academic skills, and learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract : The learning biology requires the students’ participation, because as the biology is a scientificall science based on the logical thinkingof relevant facts. There is a component in learning biology that must be owned by the students. The studentshave to understand the scientific process as the result of learning.POE (predict-observe-explain) model is one of the lerning models that was used in teaching learning process, helped the students to establish the knowledge through the senses. Learning activities also require assessment because assessment was used to determine the indicator of success in teaching learning process. One of the scoring systems that has been developed was performance assessment. Performance assessment iskinds of tasks and situations in which the students are asked to demonstrate the understanding and application of knowledge deeply and skills in varieties of contexts. Based on explanation above, the researcher wanted to know the influence of the POE model to the performance assessment of the students’ learning outcomes for biology subject. In this research, the researcher used purposive sampling area to conduct the research. The researcher used population method to determine the subject of the research. The design of this research is quasi experimental study. The data collection methods used observation, interviews, test, and documentation. The data analysis used in this research was statistical analysis method to process the data. The result of this research showed that the application of the POE modelby using performance assessment affected the students learning outcomes.   Key Words: POE Model, learning outcomes

Abstract

Abstract.Education is a process of interaction that encourages learning. An appropriate media method is needed to achieve the objectives based of the material. The inappropiate method will influence the students’ achievement.It will influence the studentsmotivation and make the student lazy to study. The teaching learning process of SMPN 14 Jember was centered to the teacher, meanwhile the students were not active and feel bored in the teaching learning process. From those reasons, an appropriate method is needed. One of the appropriate method that used was Teams Games Tournament (TGT) by crossword puzzle’s game. This research was intended to know the effect of using TGT by crossword puzzle’s game concerning to the students’ motivation and their achievement at SMPN 14 Jember  in the 2012/2013 academic year. Based on the result of research was conducted, the use of TGT method had significant by effect concerning to the students’ motivation and their achievement of class VII of SMPN 14 Jember. The students’ motivation was increased from the first cycle to the second cycle. The aspects of attitude increased by 2,11 (7,07%), the aspects of relevence increased by 3,29 (10,96%), the aspects of cobfidence was 4,95 (16,49%), and the aspects of statisfaction increased by 2,69 (8,29%). While the average of the students’ result in the affective domain was 23,7%, while the cognitive domain was 15,8. Key Words :TGT, crossword puzzles, motivation, learning outcomes.

Abstract

Abstract.Aedes aegypti L. mosquitos is vector that cause dengue fever. Control efforts by government using synthetic insecticides have a negative impact. Alternative control which is safer and environmentally friendly is the use of compounds derived from plants or referred to as a botanical insecticide. Plant that can be developed as a botanical insecticide is papaya (Carica papaya L.). Papaya leaves contain the papain enzyme, karpain alkaloids, glikosid, karposid and saponins. To determine the differences among extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) toxicity on mortality of Aedes aegypti L. larvae, the research is conducted to obtain LC50 andLT50values of serial extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) concentrations which is analyzed using Probit alisis. The amount of influencing extracted, boiled and immersion papaya (Carica papaya L.) on mosquito larvae mortality of A. aegypti L. was analyzed by using ANOVA. Based on the research results, it was revealed that there were significant differences between treatments by using extracted, boiled, and immersion papaya leaves on mortality of larvae of Aedes aegypti L.based on significance that is 0,000 (p<0,05). And if there are significant differences, it will be calculated by using Ducan test with a level of 95%. Based on the research results, it was revealed that there were significant differences between treatments by using extracted, boiled, and immersion papaya leaves on mortality of larvae of Aedes aegypti L.based on significance that is 0,000 (p<0,05). Abstract

Abstract. One of teaching models that focus on student is Learning Cycle 5E. The Learning Cycle 5E teaching Model has five stages that consist of Engagement, Exploration, Explanation, Elaboration, and Evaluation. Besides the teaching Model, teaching Material is also required. Teaching Material is a material of learning that is constructed systematically and used by teacher in learning process. The teaching Material could be combined with Technology Information and Communication in order to be a digital teaching Material. The aim of the research is to understand the digital teaching material development and also to check the improvement of student’s study result and the result of study after using digital teaching material and its application in Learning Cycle 5E. The Result of the research shows that the validation test result which uses three validators, shows that 51.6% is in Very Good Category. The student’s result study activity average is 71% in the first meeting and 79,5% in the second meeting. While the average score of the study result of student is 78.13in the first meeting and 82,00 in the second meeting. Abstract

Abstract.Learning strategy is a learning activity that should be done byteachers andstudents in such away the learning objectives can be achieved effectively and effeciently. Concept map is used to assist the students in organizing the learning concept based on the relation between its components. Memory becomes very important in human cognitive process due to the function in recalling the events, while the result study is a result from the interaction in the learning process. This classroom action research purposes to determine the usage of concept map strategies that can be used to support the sudents’ memory skills and also improve the students’ achievementin the subconcepts of environmental pollution. Based on the result, it concludes that the usage of concept maps support the strategies in the students’ memory skills with the increase of the resultup to 19.13% from the first cycle to the second cycle, and its also increase the students’ biology score up to 11.11%, its seen from the level of completeness students’ achievementfrom the first cycle to the second cycle. Abstract

Abstract.Problem based learning is a learning model that uses a problem as a first step in learning to develop thinking abilities, problem solving and intellectual abilities. The study aimed to know the developing of proccess of problem based learning materials and to increase of the student achievements after using problem based learning material on enviromental contamination subject for tenth grade senior high school Grujugan Bondowoso. The research included research development that based on 4-D models by Thiagarajan and Semmel (1974,) but it is restricted in the3-D step (define, design, develop). There searchuses 7 validators to assess the books quality, 19 students in a small group (XI IPA 2 class) and 29 students in a large group (X.1 class). Data obtained from students and teachers questionnaires, validator sheets, questionnaires of the legitility and difficulty level, pretest, post test questionnaires, teacher’s activity, student’s activity, and students responses. The result of this research showed that problem based learning material has valid with 85,63%, questionnaires of the legitility and difficulty level has valid with 86,05%, teacher’s activity with 97,72%, student’s activity with 83,39%, students response get positive response with 91,80% and improving student’s achievement by 32,30%. Abstract

Abstract.Inqury approach is considered to be able to improve student’s intellectual potentially informulates the problem, making hypothesis, collecting the data, testing the hypothesis, and making conclusions. This research intended to know the  quality of inquiry-based student book that have been developed and toincrease the student achievementsafter uses inquiry-based student bookon the pollution and environmental damage subject for VII grade of state junior high school 1 Maesan Bondowoso. This research refered to Borg and Gall model, but it is restricted untilthe seventh step (research and information collecting, planning, develop preliminary form of product, preliminary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision). This research used 5 validators to assess the quality of the book and, 12 students in preliminary field testing and 21 students in main field testing. Data obtained from student and teacher questionnaires, validator sheets, questionnaires of the legitility and difficulty level, pretest, postest and student’s response questionnaires. The result of this research showed that inquiry-based student book can improve average of student achievements by 25,90.
