Abstract

Ketahanan pangan harus bisa diciptakan bagi kelompokrentan yaitu rumah tangga petani. Ketahanan pangan harus dibangunberdasarkan prinsip keswadayaan dan menjauhkan dari modelimportansi pangan karena akan mendorong pada trend semakinmahalnya harga pangan bagi kelompok rumah tangga petani. Denganmodel penguatan seperti itu maka akan mendorong terciptanyaketerjaminan kesejahteraan rumah tangga petani. Untuk itudirekomendasikan agar ketahana pangan bagi rumah tangga petanidapat terjamin makan ketahanan pangan harus mendasarkan diripada prinsip keswadayaan atau kemandirian produksi pangan denganmendorong agar petani mampu menghasilkan bahan pangan ,utamanya padi secara optimal. Selain itu untuk memeprkuatketahanan pangan maka perlu didorong pada langkah-langkahdiversifikasi pangan, dimana rumah tangga petani dapat memproduksibahan pangan mandiri serta melakukan variasi konsumsi atas bahanpangan yang dapat mereka konsumsi.Pemerintah juga harus semakin menunjukkankeberpihakannya bagi petani. Mendorong mendorong produksipangan yang optimal sekaligus mengendalikan laju impor di bidangpangan, sehingga memberikan kesempatan kepada petani untuk dapatmeningkatkan kesejahteraan bagi keluarga dan mendukungterciptanya ketahanan pangan secara nasional.Kata-kata Kunci:Ketahanan pangan, kesejahteraan, impor, produksi sendiri,diversifikasi pangan

Abstract

The coastal land is the marginal land that  was managed as productive agricultural land. Since 1990 farmers have been using coastal land to cultivate the red onion. Agribusiness development of red onion in coastal land  need to be  supported by capital,  production and processing facilities and market. This  research aimed (1) to know the farmers accessibility toward capital, production and processing facilities and market, (2) the influence of the level of farmers accessibility toward level of adoption on agribusiness of red onion in coastal land.  Location of the research was in Sanden District of Bantul Regency. Srigading village was chosen purposively as sample because there were majority of farmers doing agribusiness of red onion, and then from this sample village was chosen purposively one sample of farmers group  which majority of members as agribusinessman of red onion, namely Manunggal farmers group.  From this farmers group sample were taken 60 respondents by census method. Data were analysed by using multiple linear regression and descriptive statistics. The research results showed that the level of  farmers accessibility was considerably high;  and the level of farmers accessibility was  significantly and positively influenced by the level of adoption on agribusiness innovation. Farmers attitude,  farmers motivation,  the role of farmers group, and the role of extension worker were not significantly influenced  by the level of adoption on agribusiness innovation

Abstract

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the effect of the transformational leadership toward Gapoktan independence. This study is a descriptive research, which is a type of research that aims to describe something. The analysis in this study is done by combining the quantitative approach that is supported by qualitative approach.The results showed that there are significant effect of transformational leadership against the Gapoktan independence. It is based on statistical tests were performed with simple linear regression. The above results confirm the contribution of the transformational leadership in support for Gapoktan independence realization. The implication is the extent to which the leader can actualize values in transformational leadership, then it will have an impact on the realization of Gapoktan independence. Abstract

This study aims to provide information on the level of performance of agricultural extension Konawe Southeast Sulawesi and the factors that influence. The unit of analysis This study is of agricultural extension, taken/withdrawn in census namely throughout civil servants of agriculture extension worker of the research sites (130 people), while of the objectivity to assess the performance of agricultural extension also taken two farmers who are in the target area so that the number of agricultural extension farmers is 260 people. Data of results in research the analysis use the proportion test, with the provision that the largely the performance level of agricultural extension (> 50 %) in the category which low. Based on the results obtained by the analysis of the proportion test of Z count value as big as -7,89 is smaller than the Z table at 5% confidence level is equal to 1.960, then the research hypothesis which states that most of the agricultural extension worker number (> 50 %) have in low performance level is rejected, because the reality shows that the level of performance of agricultural extension who are being.Keywords: Performance, level, agricultural, extension

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the influence of personal and situational factors of agricultural extension officers on their performances. The hypothesis assumed that personal factor and situational factor affect the performance of agricultural extension officers. The subjects of this research were 130 agricultural extension officers who were civil servants of Konawe Regency, Southeast Sulawesi Province. To assess the objectivity of these officers’ performances, the research also involved as samples two farmers whom every officer targeted for the extension. Therefore, totally there were 260 farmers participating in the research. The research used a quantitative method with qualitative description. The results of analysis showed that personal factor provided a significant influence on the performances of the officers of agricultural extension as much as 25% at the significance level of α=5%, and the situational factor directly influenced the personal factor as much as 29% at the significance level of α=1%. Abstract

The objective of the research was to know the factors influencing farmers behavior in pest and disease control. Different control methods were practiced by farmers, such as resistant varieties, cultural techniques, biological control, and chemical control. In thisresearch, a survey method was used, total of farmer respondents were 60 people. Results of the research showed that factors influencing farmers behavior in pest and disease control were age, perception, and work motivation. The increasing age of the farmers resulted better behavior in pest and disease control. A better perception of farmers towards pest and disease control, resulted better behavior in pest and disease control. The increasing work motivation of farmers, resulted better behavior in pest and disease control. Therefore, agricultural extension methods had to be developed by Field Extension Workers to increase work motivation and perception of famers, especially through farmer groups. Agricultural extension activities were best not only to increase farmers knowledge, but also ability to control plant pest and disease, by using participal method in pleasure situation.

Abstract

For spreading concept of Integrated Pest Management (PHT), Agricultural Disease and Plant Controllers (PHP) and Field Agricultural Extension Workers (PPL) worked together for agricultural extension about integrated pest management through Field School of Integrated Pest Management (SLPHT), in the hope that farmers could adopt PHT in their rice field. The result of the research in Central Java and Yogyakarta Special Region Province showed that social economic factors namely farmers income, farmers knowledge about PHT, farmers attitude about PHT, and farmers participation in SLPHT influenced adoption of PHT.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to analyze the influence of sociodemographic characteristics to the self-efficacy on women of poor households (WPH) in implementing economically productive activities. The study was conducted at Surakarta, using a survey approach. Samples were taken by multistage random sampling technique. Quantitative data were analyzed using multiple regression models. The results showed that the factors sociodemographic characteristics: age, formal education, and the number of family dependents significant affect on self-efficacy of WPH in conducting productive business at significance level α = 0.10, whereas the non-formal education and long effort had no significant affect. Goodness of fit test results of multiple linear regression model showed that the sociodemographic characteristics collectively have the affect of 28.6 percent.
