AN INDICATION OF AFRICAN CATFISH’S (CLARIAS GARIEPINUS) BEHAVIORAL CHANGES AS A RESPONSE FOR INCREASED SEISMIC ACTIVITY

Abstract

This report was aimed to describe the behavioral changes of catfish as observed before two different earthquakes hit the Province of Aceh, Indonesia in year of 2012. A number of 5 African’s catfish (Clarias gariepinus) were placed in an aquarium located in Gapang, Sukakarya Sub-district of Sabang Town, Aceh. Their behavior activities were observed manually at three different times (08.00 AM, 01.00 PM, and 05.00 PM) every day from 1st March up to 11th April 2012. The result of observation showed that the activity of catfish was different between all of them from 1st March 2012 up to morning observation on 11th April 2012. Most of those activities was not showed as very active behavior. However, their behavior was very active in the same pattern when observed at noon and afternoon times on 11 April 2012. On this date, there were two consecutive earthquakes happened at magnitude of >8 Richter Scale at 03.38 PM and 05.43 PM. The epicenter of this earthquake was in Simeulue, with the distance of more and less of 390 km from observation station of catfish in Gapang. It was noted that this abnormal behavior possibly showed as an indication of their ability to detect the increase of pre-seismic activity at 2.38 hours and 43 minutes before the two earthquakes. Perhaps, it is the result of their response to the increase of pre-seismic electromagnetic wave. Further continuous observation and research is needed to ensure the role of African’s catfish (Clarias gariepinus) as abio-sensor for the increase of seismic activity.

Abstract

Curently the port flow conditions Baai Island can no longer be passed if the large size of the ships that will stop at the port. This is because the rut depth at this point is just -2m until -4m LWS, from a normal condition that should be -10m until -12m LWS.This situation is certainly very disturbing process of exit and entry of goods and service to the province of Bengkulu throught this port, and negatively impact the local economy.The aim of this thinking is to provide input for the achievement of an optimal solution to overcome sedimentation arround Baai island port Bengkulu to know the behaviourof the sedimentation ponds arround the harbour entrance and the effect on navigation channel.The scope of research is supporting data collection relating to the port Baai Island Bengkulu including development planning reports, Baai harbour and reports on the sedimentation and the condition of the harbour. The method of analysis used in this study were laboratory analysis techniques. Analysis of what has been  studied to mentionthat the large amount of sedimen transport (litoral transport) along the coast of the port based on wave direction,among others from the west and south-west and north, are as follows: 1) total sediment transport (Qs) which took place on the beach ports Baai island is: 601,576.20m3/year. 2)The sediment transport that provides the greatest contribution to the sedimentation flow Baai harbour island is the result of calculation is from the west (toward the most dominant),namely: Qs-net = 573,916.72 m3/year.

Abstract

Coastal erosion causes the destruction of the buildings on the beach, like the houses of citizens and other infrastructure. One method is to use abrasion prevention breakwater structure, but the kind of Rubble Mound Breakwater (RMB) becomes uneconomical when used in the cultivation of isolated, which has limited infrastructure and resource materials, especially stone. One method of overcome this problem is to use sandbags as a breakwater. Many researchers have done much research in the stability of sandbags. However, research is limited to the analys of the effect of freeboard, the roughness, slope and structural arrangement. This is a physical model of an experimental 2-D is done in a wave tank in Marine Environment and energy engineering laboratory. Marine-FTK ITB. Wave height ranges between 10 cm to 22 cm, the period is contant, 1.5 seconds. 1200 number of waves for the wave. 50 cm high model, and the freeboard is 0 cm. models vary is the slope and configuration of the sand bags. The results showed that the level of damage caused by the power of the model is highly dependent on model and configuration and the second wavelength. As a result of change in the slope, the stability of SK1 has increased to 28.135, while as a result of configuration changes, SK1 to SK2 causing stability has increased 4.17% Keywords : Stability, Sandbag breakwater, Configuration of structure, Pillow sandbag, Breakwater.   Abstrak   Abarsi pantai menyebabkan kehancuran pada bangunan di tepi pantai, seperti rumah-rumah warga dan infrastruktur lainnya. Salah satu metode pencegahan abrasi adalah dengan menggunakan struktur breakwater, tapi jenis Rubble Mound Breakwater (RMB) menjadi tidak ekonomis bila digunakan dalam pembudidayaan terisolasi, yang memiliki keterbatasan infrastruktur dan sumber bahan, terutama batu. Salah satu metode untuk mengatasi masalah ini adalah dengan menggunakan karung pasir sebagai pemecah gelombang. Banyak peneliti telah melakukan banyak penelitian mengenai stabilitas kantong pasir. Namun demikian, penelitian tersebut adalah terbatas pada analisis tentang pengaruh freeboard, kekasaran lereng dan struktur tumit dan memaksakan pengepungan kestabilan. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang analisis stabilitas pemecah gelombang tipe karung pasir yang dipengaruhi oleh kemiringan konfigurasi dan susunan struktur. Ini adalah model fisik eksperimental 2-D yang dilakukan dalam tangki Gelombang Lingkungan dan Energi Laut di laboratorium Teknik Kelautan – FTK ITB Bandung. Rentang tinggi gelombang antar 10 cm sampai 22 cm, periode konstan, 1,5 detik. Jumlah gelombang sebesar 1200 gelombang. Model tinggi 50 cm, dan freeboard adalah 0 cm. Model bervariasi adalah kemiringan dan konfigurasi kantong pasir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kerusakan model yang disebabkan oleh kekuatan sangat tergantung pada kemiringan konfigurasi dan model karung pasir. Stabilitas karung pasir dipengaruhi oleh penampangkarung pasir konfigurasi serta panjang gelmbang sesaat. Sebagai hasil perubahan lereng, stabilitas SK1 telah meningkat hingga 28,13%, sementara sebagai akibat dari perubahan konfigurasi, SK1 untuk Sk2, menyebabkan stabilitas telah meningkat 4,17%. Abstract

Pembakaran biomassa dalam rangka memproduksi energi termal untuk menghasilkan utilitas lain dapat dilakukan dengan mengkonversi energi tersebut ke bentuk energi lain. Boiler dengan unggun terfluidisasi dipilih sebagai teknologi konversi energi termal menjadi energi listrik, karena kukus yang diproduksi dapat digunakan untuk menggerakkan turbin yang dikopling dengan generator listrik. Unit dimana proses pembakaran berlangsung, yaitu ruang bakar dan freeboard dipilih sebagai target pengamatan untuk mengevaluasi kinerja boiler tersebut. Hasil pengamatan terhadap pembakaran tiga jenis biomassa, serpihan kayu ketam, kulit pinang dan ranting kayu kering, memperlihatkan bahwa masing-masing jenis biomassa memiliki karakteristik pembakaran tersendiri. Temperatur pembakaran maksimum untuk serpihan kayu ketam dan ranting kayu kering didapatkan pada waktu pembakaran 30 detik, sementara untuk kulit pinang pada 20 detik. Hasil yang sangat menarik adalah ditemukan bahwa temperatur maksimum dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengubah sistem pengumpan bahan bakar. Sistem pengumpan antara memberikan temperatur maksimum yang lebih tinggi dibanding dengan sistem pengumpan biasa.

Abstract

Our review paper research categorize the methods in the method of Fuzzy Multi-Criteria Decision Making (FMCDM) to find the method is widely used in the case of land clearing for plantation. Model FMCDM is used to assess the parameter in multi-criteria-based decision making. The dominant percentage of the result was obtained using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) method. While the application of other methods for the same problem are Fuzzy Ordered Weighted Averaging (FOWA), Fuzzy Elimination Et Choix Traduisant la Realite or Elimination and Choice Translating Reality (FELECTRE), Fuzzy Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (FTOPSIS), Fuzzy, Artificial Neural Networks (FANNs) has less. Some the research result also implemented hybrid in FMCDM Method to give some weight in the assessment of decision making. There was also a paper which integrates FMCDM to the GIS method on the land clearing. Therefore, it is concluded that the issue on the land clearing can be done through collaboration of several models of FMCDM, so that it can be developed by involving the decision model using multi-stakeholder model

Abstract

Sepak bola merupakan olahraga yang dimainkan oleh kedua tim dalam sebuah pertandingan atau olah raga. Masing-masing tim terdiri dari sebelas pemain yang dipimpin oleh satu wasit sebagai pengadil pertandingan dan dua hakim garis sebagai asisten. Tim sepak bola memiliki komponen yang mendukung didalamnya seperti pemain, pelatih, dan official. Pelatih sangat berperan penting dalam tim untuk menentukan formasi sesuai dengan standar yang telah ditentukan oleh pelatih tersebut. Untuk memperoleh formasi yang berkualitas maka diperlukan kriteria-kriteria untuk menentukan formasi yang akan dipakai dalam sebuah tim seperti pertahanan, pengatur serangan, penyerang, teknik, dan fisik para pemain.Penelitian bertujuan untuk membantu seorang pelatih menentukan formasi yang akan dipakai dalam pertandingan sepak bola, sehingga dibutuhkan Sistem Pendukung Keputusan (SPK). Dan salah satu cara yang dapat digunakan dalam sistem pendukung keputusan yang dapat berfungsi untuk mencari sampel data formasi.Hasil peneletian memberikan rekomendasi alternatif yang cepat dan mudah serta untuk mendapatkan formasi tim sepak bola yang sesuai dengan formasi yang digunakan lawan. Layanan yang tersedia yaitu input data pemain, input formasi sebagai sampel data untuk mendapatkan formasi tim. Data yang dimasukan adalah data uji dari nilai pemain lawan untuk mendapat keluaran berupa formasi sepak bola. Adapun data yang diujikan adalah data formasi Sriwijaya Palembang dengan menggunakan formasi 4-4-2 dan menghasilkan keluaran formasi untuk persisam putra samarinda adalah 4-4-2.

Abstract

The result of this analysist of energy conservation activity exposes the performance generated by PT. Arun NGL in the fields of energy conservation and decrease of greenhouse emissions. The implementtion analysist activities assosieted with international initiatives in addressing climate change, and global warming as well as support the implementation of goverment programs of energy conservation programs and the reduction of greenhouse gas emmisions in the industrial sector. All the data presented in this report have been checked carefully, and all sizes are displayed also was referring to an internationally recognized measurement technique in the industry. Thus, the accurancy of the data included in this report both with regards the level of error is small. In addition, all the data loaded can be trusted because it is supported by the documents that existand can be verified by the stakeholders who want to do this. Based on the result of the assessment, energy saving opportunities and reduction of exhaust gas emmisions are available by empowering, improvise and optimize prodution units. Implementation efforts on energy conservation and the utilization of  resources has been implementaed since 1997, which was market by the implementation of the project Marine Boil off Gas (MaBOG) take back the exhaust gas at the time of shipment of LNG (800-1,000 M3 LNG). Marine Boil off Gas has recover 1000 m3 of LNG per shipment in 2003, in installation of heat reovery unit 10 steam  generator, which utilizes the thermal energy of the stack gas turbines to generate steam, and turn off or not utilize all the conventional boilers.

Abstract

Leafminers, Liriomyza huidobrensis (Blanchard) (Diptera: Agromyzidae) known as main pest at vegetable and ornamental crop. Hemiptarsinus varicornis (Girault) (Hymenoptera: Eulophidae) is one of ectoparasitoid larvae of L. huidobrensis that usually find in the field, however the levels of parasitism at field relative lower. Therefore we need the conservation technology of parasitoid in order to its population overflow so that its performance increases. Rorippa indica (L) have potential as reservoir of parasitoid H. varicornis, so that can be used as conservation medium of H. varicornis. Planting weeds R. indica among of chickpea crop, can decraese the population of adult and larvae L. huidobrensis significantly, increase adult population H. varicornis and larvae population L. huidobrensis parasitism by H. varicornis. Growth rate of population adult H. varicornis at block without weeds R. indica follow the pattern of regretion equation Y=0,1312X–0,2246 and Y=0,7172X+1,1 while at the block planted weeds R. indica. Growth rate of larvae population L. huidobrensis at block without weeds R. indica follow the pattern of regretion equation Y=0,9315X–0,9835 and Y=0,8647X+1,0875 while at the block planted weeds R. indica. Weeds R. indica can be used as reservoar parasitoid H. varicornis in the effort the conservation parasitoid. Abstract

Background: Scabies incident at boarding school Al-Baqiyatushshalihat Tanjung Jabung West in 2015-2016 there are 200 cases. The aim of this study is the relationship of individual hygiene students with the incidence of skin diseases of skabies in Pesantren Al-Baqiyatushshalihat Tanjung Jabung Barat Year 2017. Method: This research is a quantitative research with case control approach Data collection method is done by distributing questioner then analyzed by Univariat and Bivariat. The case population in this study is all santri who suffer from scabies in Al-Baqiyatushship Pesantren in 2017. The control population is santri who do not suffer from scabies in Al-Baqiyatushshalihat boarding school. Sampling method using total sampling method. Data were analyzed univariat and bivariate with chi-square test. Result: The results showed that there was a correlation between skin hygiene (p-value = 0,004; OR = 3,125; 95% CI = 1,943-6,542), hand hygiene and nail (p-value = 0,001; OR = 3,473; 95% CI = 1,669-7,225), genital hygiene (p-value = 0,002; OR = 3,762; 95% CI = 1,668-8,574), clothing hygiene (p-value = 0,000; OR = 4,062; 95% CI = 1,926-8,571), hygiene (p-value = 0.000; OR = 4,316; 95% CI = 2,045-9,108), cleanliness of bed and bed linen (p-value = 0,000; OR = 13,895; 95% CI = 5,721-33,747) with incidence of Scabies Skin Disease in Al-Baqiyatushshalihat Pesantren Tanjung Jabung Barat. Conclusion: Personal hygiene is a risk factor for scabies events. Bed and bedding hygiene is the highest risk variable for the incidence of scabies. Keywords: Scabies incident, individual hygiene

Abstract

Universitas Mulawarman melalui program - program studi yang ada telah menerapkan disiplin ilmu yang sesuai dengan kriteria dari setiap program studi tersebut, selama ini proses pemilihan program studi oleh calon mahasiswa dilakukan dengan beragam cara, sebagian besar calon mahasiswa hanya mempercayakan pilihan mereka kepada pihak lain entah orang tua ataupun teman dengan tingkat pengetahuan mereka terhadap diri calon mahasiswa masih tidak lebih baik dibandingkan dengan calon mahasiswa tersebut, sehingga hal ini akan mempengaruhi proses perkuliahan calon mahasiswa itu kelak.Terdapat tiga kriteria utama bagi calon mahasiswa yang penting untuk dipertimbangkan, yaitu kriteria perminatan, kriteria kepribadian serta kriteria akademis, didalam penelitian ini dibangun Sistem penunjang keputusan dengan menggunakan metode Promethee sebagai metode yang cukup baik untuk menangani pengurutan data multikriteria, serta digunakan kuisioner untuk memproses data kriteria minat dan kepribadian dari calon mahasiswa.Dari hasil penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa metode promethee mampu memberikan rekomendasi program studi yang memiliki kriteria yang sesuai dengan kriteria dari pengguna.
