Abstract

A field evaluation was conducted to study the genotypic correlation between yield potentials and resistance level to the late leafspot of peanut. The experiment was carried out at Muara experimental-field from October 1994 to January 1995 using 100 genotypes with natural late leafspot inoculation. The result showed that the resistance level to late leafspot, wish was quantitatively reflected by the fresh-leaves percentage has negative genotypic correlation with total and filled-pod numbe1: The negative genotypic correlation were also found between resistance level and the weight of total pod, filled pod, as kernel, although not significant.

Abstract

Attack Mechanism of Damping-off Pathogens of Pinus merkusii SeedlingThe study aims to determine the attack period of damping-off pathogen, i.e.  F. oxysporum and  R. solani, on  P. merkusii, as well as studying the role of cellulolytic and pectolitic enzymes in the attack mechanism of both damping-off  pathogens. Attack period determined by inoculated the two pathogenic fungi to seed or some age level of  P. merkusii seedlings. Cellulolytic enzyme activity, represented by cellulase-C1, was determined by spectrophotometric techniques. Pectolitik enzyme activity, represented by polygalacturonase, determined by iodometric techniques and growth of the two pathogenic fungi in the medium containing pectin. The results showed that the attack period of damping-off pathogen, i.e. F. oxysporum and R. Solani, on P. merkusii seedling started from seed to 7-week old seedling, the 8-week old seedlings were free from damping-off. Both pathogens showed cellulase-C1 activity, and the enzyme activity in F. oxysporum is higher than that in  R. solani. Iodometric technique could not detect the polygalacturonase activity of two fungal pathogens, presumably because  P. merkusii stem seedling substrate  which used in testing was too few. Nevertheless the two pathogenic fungi grew more intensively in medium containing pectin shown by higher mycelial dry weight than in media without pectin, and it shows the that the fungi capable to degrade pectin using pectolytic enzymes and use the carbon produced for growth.

Abstract

Shallow water tides are very important to improve accuracy of tidal predictions. It is used by port interest, sea transportation, fishing industry, coastal engineering, etc. Simulation of shallow water tides was obtained from harmonic analysis of 1 dimensional channel model (12 grid) by using variational data assimilation (grid 3 and 8). Two partial tides with angular frequencies σ1 = 1,4x10-4 and σ2 = 1,6x10-4 rad/sec and amplitude A1 = 1x10-8 and A2 = 0,5x10-8 meters are used for defining external forcing in the model domain. When inspecting the amplitudes of both partial tides σ1 and σ2 and some of their dominant over- and compound tides (σ3 = 2σ1-σ2 and σ4 = 3σ1), in general the “to be corrected” solution can be improved significantly. Root mean square (rms) error of tidal constituent σ1 between the “reference” and the “to be corrected” without data assimilation is 0,1075 m/sec, and for σ2 is 0,0440 m/sec, respectively. On the other hand, the harmonic analysis of the phase of tidal constituent σ1 showed a good result (root mean square = 0.0000 m/s) and for σ2 (root mean square = 0.0002 m/s).Keywords: shallow water tides, data assimilation, harmonic analysis.

Abstract

The development of livestock potential is expected to reduce of production and market unbalances. The nature ofRiau Province, requires effective and efficient planning in supporting the market of livestock commodities inter-regions.Knowing patterns of marketing of livestock commodities inter-regions able to increase added value of commodities. Thepurposes this research are: 1) to analyze the flow of livestock commodities marketing inter-region in Riau Province, 2) todetermine the direction of livestock commodities development based commodities marketing. This research was conducted inRiau Province with eleven districts and cities. This study used a model analysis of gravity and entropy models with doubleconstrains. The result showed the distance between regions determine interaction inter-region. The flow of cattle marketing isinfluenced by farmers productivity of origin region. Cattle’s production region is directed to Indragiri Hulu, Kampar, RokanHulu and Kuantan Singingi and marketing region to Siak, Bengkalis and Rokan Hilir. The flow of buffalo commoditiesmarketing is more determined by slaughtering in destination region. Buffalo’s production is directed to Kampar and KuantanSingingi and marketing to Pekanbaru, Siak, Dumai and Rokan Hilir. The main factors that determine the flow of broilermarketing is population in origin region and consumption of broiler in destination region. Development of Broiler’sproduction region is directed to Pekanbaru, Kampar, Pelalawan, dan Siak, and marketing region to Bengkalis, Dumai,Indragiri Hilir, and Rokan Hilir. The flow of cattle and buffalo commodities market moves from south to north and Broilermoves from region who were in middle to around it.

Abstract

The problem faced by students is the difficulty of understanding on metal casting topic in the lesson of Materials Technology which is conducted by lectures only. The research objective is to find out the improvement of score on metal casting topic for 1G students from Mechanical Engineering Department, State Polytechnic of Malang (Polinema) in odd Semester, Academic Year 2016/2017. Research method were facilitation of applied metal casting through pretest of metal casting, added a description of the design and modification of metal mould for Aluminium, visit to a home industry of Aluminium casting, students practice of Aluminium casting in a home industry, student groups presentation and discussion in the subtopics of (1) design and mould manufacture, (2) Aluminium casting practice, and (3) tensile testing with cast Aluminium specimen, as well as posttest on metal casting. The research result is an increasing in average score from 46.56 to 53.6 (22%) that means by adding the practice to the theory involved is increase a significant impact on understanding of Aluminium casting for students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is not only to find the carrying capacity and economic of Sea Farming management but also to build the model of shallow water ecosystem at Semak Daun Island. For that purpose, the researcher uses the amount of Serranus sp as an indicator with two kinds of assessment methods. The first method is denseness assessment. Using this method the amount of Serranus is in between 1575 and 1890 fish for year. The second method is tranfer of energy in the trophic level. By this method, the researcher find that the amount of Serranus lays in the wider range than the first one it is from 1575 to 7875 fish for year. According to the result of simulating the model for all scenarios in 10 years, the highest income get from the third scenario, Rp 4,074,830,000.00, with the proportion of KJA (cage culture) and Sea Ranching fund is 75% and 25%, there is aninstitution with Rp 50,000.00 as a monthly fee. Meanwhile, the 25th scenario only give Rp 806,130,000.00 as the income with the proportion of KJA (cage culture) and SR fund is 25% and 75% without an institution and only Rp 10,000.00 monthly fee.

Abstract

Pregnant women with cardio vascular failure caused by hypertension may show pre-eclampsia or eclampsia syndrome. The syndromewas confirmed by the hypertension family history when she was pregnant or during labour formerly. The influence was shown in thehaematological examination, besides inducing hypertension during pregnancy. The examination must be an accurate laboratory procedureto avoid complication. The routine obstetric examination should be a physical, laboratory as well as USG one. Exspecially laboratoryexamination for pre-eclampsic and eclampsic patients like clinical chemistry, blood examination, urinalysis and special examinationas ANA, ACA and TAT The result of laboratoric examination showed anemic,trombosits was normal and TAT abnormal. The baby wasborn normal. After 3 months post labour the result of TAT still hyper-reactive especially for ADP agonist and hypo-reactive for collagenagonist. This patient have a trombosit function failure based on TAT and must be care to cardiovascular disease. Pregnant women withpre-eclamptic or eclamptic risk must be monitored the trombosit function beside clinical laboratoric and obstetric examinations
