Abstract

Perlakuan perendaman bibit dua varietas kentang (Solanum tuberosum L.) terhadap pertumbuhan dan produksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di lahan pertanian di Desa Gurusinga Kecamatan Berastagi, Kabupaten Karo, Sumatera Utara yang berada ±1.340 m dpl dari bulan Desember 2010 sampai Maret 2011 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok Faktorial dengan 2 faktor. Faktor pertama adalah varietas yang terdiri atas 2 varietas yaitu Varietas Granola dan Varietas Selek Tani, faktor kedua konsentrasi giberelin dengan 4 taraf yaitu 0 mg/Liter, 5 mg/Liter, 10 mg/Liter dan 15 mg/Liter. Parameter yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, Jumlah batang, jumlah klorofil daun, Jumlah umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per plot dan produksi per hektar. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Varietas Granola (G4) dan Varietas Selek Tani (G7)  berpengaruh nyata terhadap  parameter tinggi tanaman, jumlah batang , jumlah umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per sampel, bobot umbi per plot, dan  produksi per hektar tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap parameter jumlah klorofil daun Giberelin  dengan konsentrasi 15 mg/l berpengaruh nyata meningkatkan jumlah batang hingga  22.7%, jumlah umbi per sampel hingga 30.89 %, bobot umbi per sampel hingga 18.65%, bobot umbi per plot hingga 17.45% , dan produksi per hektar hingga 19.53% tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan jumlah klorofil. Interaksi antar kedua perlakuan berpengaruh tidak nyata untuk semua parameter yang diamati. Kata Kunci : varietas, giberelin, kentang.

Abstract

The aim of the research was to evaluate the growth and production of sweet corn  (Zea mays sacharata Sturt. L) planted at various distance and land preparation (soil tillage prior to  planting). The treatments were arranged in split plot design with three replication. The study consists of two factors, as main plot was time of soil tillage prior to planting (one and seven days) whereas sub plot was planting distance consist of four different spaces : 70cm x 10cm, 70cm x 20cm, 70cm x 30cm dan 70cm x 40cm. Result showed that the plant spacing consists of  70cm x 40cm performs significant effect on number of leaves, stem diameter, cob diameter, and production per plant, but not significant effect on flowering time and number of cobs per plot. The interaction between time of planting and planting space had no significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, days to flowering, cob diameter, number of cobs per plot, weight of cobs per plot and production per plant. Abstract

The aimed of this reaserch was to determine the flush interval and consentration of NPK fertilizer which is suitable to the growth and production of mustard (Brassica juncea L.) This research was conducted at green house’s Agricultur faculty University of Sumatera Utara, Medan with a height of 25 metre sea level rise on Februari until April 2012. This research was conducted by factorial randomized block design with two factors such as flush interval (1,2,3 in a day) and NPK fertilizer 0, 2.5, 5, 7. 5, 10 (g/l water). The parameters observed were plant height, the number of leaf, leaf area, the scale of leaf chlorophyll , the weight biomass of plant, The fresh weight of selling, the weight of roots, the root’s length and the harvest indeks. The result of the observations showed that the flush interval had ureal effect to all of the parameters except the root’s weight, while the NPK fertilizer had a real effect to all of the parameters.

Abstract

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe effect of Concentration and Frequency of Etephon Aplication on Growth and Production ofcucumber (Cucumis sativus L.). Cucumber in Indonesia is popular and likely vegetable for all ofsociety. Cucumber productivity (ton/ha) in Indonesia from 2007 to 2011 were decrease from 81.2 to527.1 this was due to less intensive and efficiency in cucumber culture one of the alternative that couldbe done was application etephon of plant growth regulator. The aim of this research was to know theeffects of concentration and frequency of etephon application on growth and production of cucumber,this study was done in faculty of agriculture net house medan (± 25 in above sea level) from Januari –maret 2013. The design used was Randomised Block Design with 2 factors, etephon concentration (0.150, 300 dan 450 ppm) and the frequency of application (1x, 2x and 3x times). The parameterscolected were plant length, number of leaves formed, number of lived leaves, number of femaleflowers, number of female flowers aborted, number of male flowers, ratio of flowers, number of fruitper plant and total weight perplant. From the research, concentration affect significantly on plantlength (4-8 weeks after planting), number of female flowers (39 and 51 days after planting), number offemale flowers aborted (42 and 60 days after planting), number all of male flowers, ratio of flowers (48days after planting). Frequency aplication of etephon affect significantly plant length (6-7 weeks afterplanting). Interaction affect significantly on flowers ratio (48 days after planting ).Keywords : cucumber, concentration , and frequency Etephon.

Abstract

ABSTRACTMorphological response of shelled rubber seed (Hevea brasilliensis Muell Arg.) by givingPolyethylene Glycol (PEG) 6000 in storage at two drying period. Rubber seeds arerecalcitrant seeds that have a high water content so it can not be stored longer because rapiddeteriorated so it needs special handling to increase storability. PEG 6000 is a compound thatcan help maintain seed viability in storage because has the potential osmoticum, which canlimit the imbibition and diffusion processes. Research purposes was to determine theconcentration of PEG and seed drying time appropriate to improve storability the seeds.Research conducted in the Seed Technology Laboratory, Agricultural Faculty, SumateraUtara University in January to March 2012. Nested factorial experiment was arranged in atwo-stage nested design namely time drying as nested factor (drying time at 00:00 am to06:00 am and 6:00 am to 12:00 am) and PEG 6000 (w/v) concentration factor as sub nest(0%, 15%, 30%, 45% ). Parameters namely observed in seed storage fungal andrecapitulation seeds germinated after storage. The results showed that fungal seeds in storageat a concentration of 15% PEG can reduce up to 13,33% with seed germination to 87,13 %and fungal seeds in storage at drying time at 06:00 am to 12:00 am can reduce up to 6.83%with recapitulation seed germination after storage to 93,74%.Key words: rubber seeds, time drying, PEG 6000

Abstract

The research had been conducted at Tanjung Sari, Medan at ± 25 m asl from April until June 2012.The research using factorial randomized block design with 2 (two) treatment factors. The first factorwas using of three variety namely : V1: Bima Brebes; V2: Kuning; V3: Sembrani. The second factorwas addiction of fertilizer as organic nitrogen source with four levels P0: control ; P1: biomass ofsoya 2.357,67 kg/ha; P2: vermicompost 3.252,55 kg/ ha ; P3: palm oil fruit bunch 2.121,90 kg/ha;P4: chicken manure 3.350,37 kg/ha. The results showed that the Sembrani variety had given thebest results on some parameters of growth and production. The using of biomass of soya 2.357,67kg/ha resulted diameters and weight of tubers were compared with the other organic fertilizers andcontrol. The interaction between the both of treatment was effected significantly on parameters wetweight of tuber per plot, dry weight of tuber per plot, diameter of wet tuber per clump and diameterof dry tuber per clump.Key words : varieties, organic nitrogen, shallot

Abstract

The aim of this experiment was to determine respons in growth and yield of watermelon topaclobutrazol and dosage of NPK fertilizer. This research had been conducted at field of Pasar Istreet no. 89, Tanjung Sari, Medan (± 25 in above sea level), in April-July 2013 using factorialrandomized block design with two factor, i.e. concentration of paclobutrazol (0, 150, 300, and 450ppm) and dosage of NPK fertilizer (60, 120 and 180 g/plant) in six times. Parameter observed wereplant height, number of female flowers, number of male flowers, total weight persample and totalweight perplant. The result showed that paclobutrazol concentration affect significantly on plantlength (6-8 weeks after planting), number of female flowers (35 and 38 days after planting), numberof male flowers (41 and 44 days after planting), total weight persample, and total weight perplant.Dosage of NPK fertilizer affect significantly on number of male flowers (44 days after planting).Interaction affect significantly on number of female flowers (35 and 38 days after planting) andnumber of male flowers (41 days after planting).Keywords: watermelon, paclobutrazol concentration, and dosage of NPK fertilizer

Abstract

The research was conducted at Screen house Experiment Berastagi at ± 1340 m asl from April untilJuly 2013 using split plot design with main plot, i.e. organic liquid fertilizer concentration (0, 2, 4,and 6 mL/L) and sub plot is tuber weight difference (≤ 3, 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 g). Parameter observedwere plant height, duration of green leaves, tuber weight per plant, weight tuber per plot, and tubergrade percentage.The result showed organic liquid fertilizer treatment significantly defend thechlorophyll leaves (duration of green leaves). Tuber weight difference treatment significantlyincrease plant height, main stem number, tuber number per plant, weight tuber per plot and tubergrade percentage on 10,1 – 20 g. The interaction of two factor significantly increase tuber gradepercentage on ≤ 5 g. The best result was showed by organic liquid fertilizer concentration 6 mL/Land tuber weight 9-12 g.________________________________________________________________________________Keywords : weight tuber, organic liquid fertilizer, potatoes tuber

Abstract

Production Growth response and mustard (Brassica sinensis L,.) By Giving Mineral Zeoliteand Nitrogen, guided by Jasmani Ginting dan Ferry Ezra Sitepu. This study aims to test theresponse of the growth and production of mustard on the provision of zeolite and ureafertilizer. The study was conducted in community land Setia Budi Road Simpang SelayangMedan district in May to July 2012. Experimental method used was a factorial randomizedblock design with 2 factors, namely the provision of zeolite (0 g, 50 g / plot, 100 g / plot, 150g / plot) and urea fertilizer (without urea, 0.2 g / tan. , 0.4 g / tan., 0.6 g / plant) with 3replications. The parameters measured were plant height, leaf area, leaf chlorophyll amount,weight biomass per plant, fresh weight per plant and sell the sample harvest index. The resultsshowed that administration of zeolite significant effect on all parameters. While the treatmentof urea fertilizer and the interaction between the two treatments did not significantly affect allparameters.Keywords: zeolite, urea, growth and production of mustard.
