Abstract

Solar radiation can be converted to the electrical energy and thermal energy by photovoltaic panel and solar collector. In this experiment, PV/T collector was designed, fabricated and tested its performance. The experiment conducted on PV/T collector with water flow at mass flow rate 0.012 kg/s to 0.0255 kg/s. The water flow with the stainless stell absorber help the PV/T collector in increasing the convection of thermal heat transfer. The power output increase with increase of radiation. The efficiency of PVT varies with different intensity of radiation which stated in this experiment for 750 W/m2 and 900 W/m2. The analysis of energy and exergy are excuted and results show energy output for water based PV/T collector are 346 W for solar radiation 700 W/m2 and 457 W for solar radiation 900 W/m2.? Meanwhile the total exergy output compared to the PV panel without stainless stell absorber, which the exergy increased by 22.48% for 700 W/m2 and 20.87% for 900 W/m2.

Abstract

Solar air heater (SAH), which is the most essential component of solar drying systems, receive solar energy and convert it into thermal energy. This review presents descriptions and previous works conducted on performances analysis of SAHs. Exergoenviroeconomic, exergoenvironmental, environmental, and exergy analyses are also presented. In addition, results on the performances of SAHs are summarized. The exergy and energy efficiencies of SAHs at laboratorium testing range from 8% to 61% and from 30% to 79%, respectively.

Abstract

Non-linear loads on power systems cause harmonics and losses in distribution transformers. Results of the measurements on the two distribution transformers showed several phase transformer test-driven development (TDD) values above the standard SPLN D5.004-1: 2012. The values were 5.58% in the phase transformer, T 1 and 5.48% and 6.10% in S and T phases of the second transformer, respectively. In the calculations, the transformer losses due to harmonic currents were 1.64 kW in the phase transformer T 1, and 1.64 kW and 1.82 kW in the S and T phases of transformer 2, respectively. Designing a single-tuned passive filter based on the characteristics of the current, voltage, power, and power factor in the phase transformer with a value above the TDD standard can reduce the harmonics and losses. A filter with different specifications in each filtered phase transformer was obtained. The filter reduced the TDD value on the phase transformer T 1 to 3.55% and to 3.88% and 3.43% on the on phase T and S phases of transformer 2.? Moreover, it reduced the losses to 0.73 kW on phase transformer T 1, and 1.02 kW and 0.92 kW on the S and T phases of transformer 2.?

Abstract

This paper describes the performance of tracking photovoltaic (PV) system for mobile station. The system consists of tracking PV array, the battery bank, the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller and the DC/AC inverter). This system is the first full solar power station, which acts as pilot project by Celcom Sdn. Bhd. Success of this system shows potential of electrify rural remote area. The design is hoped to be a pioneer and acts as well-known system in order to ensure renewable energy is the future supply of electricity in far located urban area. This paper showes the record of the battery state-of-charge (SOC) as a function of time for rainy and sunny days.

Abstract

In photovoltaic thermal hybrid (PV/T) collectors, the electricity and thermal energy are produce simultaneously. PV/T technology has been proven in previous studies where it could give benefits for high energy demand supplementary. For example, in space heating, domestic water heating and also drying. The PVT collectors can be classified into air-based PVT, water-based PVT and dual-fluid (air+water) PVT collector. In this paper, the analysis of energy and exergy efficiency of PVT collectors are compiled and reviewed. This study has found that generally the energy and exergy efficiency are range from 40%-70% and 5%-20%, respectively.

Abstract

In this study, an experimental study has been conducted to determine the performance of the photovoltaic thermal- thermoelectric air collector (PVT-TE) hybrid system. Hybrid system consists of photovoltaic panel (PV) and thermoelectric modules (TEs) that can improve the energy efficiency of the system. The results of output temperature (To) and plate temperature (Tp) obtained from the experiment have been used to determine the performance of this hybrid system. Effect of mass flow rate and radiation intensity is also being investigated. Experimental studies were carried out at 0.02 kg/s and 0.09 kg/s which represent minimum and maximum of mass flow rate, and radiation intensities in the range of 268-922 W/m2.

Abstract

Photovoltaic thermal (PVT) collectors directly convert solar radiation into electrical and thermal energy. A PVT collector combines the functions of a PV panel and a flat plate solar collector. The development of PVT air collectors is a very promising research area. At present, PVT air collectors are used in solar drying and solar air heaters. On the basis of existing literature, most PVT air collectors were built by using monofacial PV modules. The bifacial PV modules had two active surfaces that could capture solar radiation with its front and rear surfaces. Additional sunlight absorption through both surfaces resulted in an enhanced electrical power generation compared with the conventional monofacial PV. Therefore, bifacial PVT was considered to be useful and attractive due to its potential of enhancing overall system performances, including energy and exergy efficiencies. Findings of this review indicated that PVT air collector with bifacial solar cell produced a larger amount of electrical energy, which was approximately 40% higher than a monofacial PVT. The energy and exergy efficiencies of PVT air collector with monofacial solar cells range from 27% to 94% and from 4% to 18%, respectively. For bifacial PVT, the energy and exergy efficiencies of PVT air collector range from 28% to 67% and from 8.2% to 8.4%, respectively.

Abstract

At present, solar energy is perceived to be one of the world?s contributive energy sources. Holding characteristics such as inexhaustible and non-polluting, making it as the most prominent among renewable energy (RE) sources. The application of the solar energy has been well-developed and used for electricity generation through Photovoltaic (PV) as the harvesting medium. PV cells convert heat from the sun directly into the electricity to power up the electric loads. Solar PV system is commonly built in a rural area where it cannot be powered up by the utility grid due to location constrains. In order to avoid the electricity fluctuation because of unsteady amount of solar radiation, PV solar hybrid is the efficient solution for rural electrifications. This paper presents a review on optimised Hybrid Solar-PV Diesel system configurations installed and used to power up off grid settlements at various locations worldwide.

Abstract

Inhibitory Phases Effect of The Lung Cancer And Acute Toxicity of Chang Sheuw Tian RanLing Yao Capsule Extracts in House mice (Mus musculus) and Rat (Ratus tanezumi). Effortsto find anticancer agents have been developed nowadays, some of them are focused in traditionalherbs. One of the available products in the market that claims effective to cure cancer isthe Chang Sheuw Tian Ran Ling Yao, PT. Daun Teratai extract containing CAPSULE (CSTRLYextract). The aim of this study is to examine of confession of some people which are usingthe useful of medicine CSTRLY extract capsule through inhibitor laboratory effect of theCSTRLY extract in the initiation and post initiation phases of the lung cancer in mice and ratsthat had been induced by eather Benzo[?]pyrene (BP) or Dimetilbenz[?]antrazene (DMBA)and to clarify the potency of acute toxicity and specific toxic manifestations of thephytopharmaca.The results showed that the CSTRLY extract can reduce the cancer incidence caused bycarcinogen, BP and DMBA. Moreover, the extract can also inhibit the cancer growth in themice and rats, especially in the early post-initiation phase. Further, the histopathologicalevaluation showed that up to the highest dose level that technically could be administrated tothe animals (12500 mg/kg bw), no animal death was occurred. Furthermore, the ADG values formale and female rats indicated no significant different (P > 0.05) that relative to the controlgroup. No animals were shows physical symptom as a toxic manifestation. It’s indicated thatthe phytopharmaca no influenced to somatomotor and nervous system. Within the dose rangeadministrations, no detectable morphological toxic effects or histophatological changes of theliver, spleen, heart, and lungs were observed. the acute toxicity value of Chang Sheuw TianRan Ling Yao Capsule was very low (or minimal almost non-toxic with LD50 > 12500 mg/kg bw)and the spectrum of toxic effects of the phytopharmaca were considered negligible.Key words: Ekstract, CSTRLY, mice and rat, BP, DMBA, carsinogenesis, lung cancer

Abstract

Pasar dunia yang semakin kompetitif, membuat dunia usaha khususnya industri obat tradisional dituntut untuk profesional, serta dapat menanggapi kebutuhan konsumen. PT Karya Pak Oles yang bergerak pada industri obat tradisional harus dapat mengetahui situasi dan mempunyai suatu keunggulan bersaing. Bauran pemasaran sangat berperan penting dalam dunia usaha saat ini, karena kepuasan dan loyalitas konsumen tercipta dari strategi yang baik oleh perusahaan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini menganalisis apakah komponen dari bauran pemasaran berpengaruh positif pada kepuasan dan pengaruh kepuasan terhadap loyalitas konsumen.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode purposive sampling menggunkan alat penelitian berupa kuisioner dengan jumlah sampel 421 responden yang berada di Denpasar selama bulan Januari sampai April 1016. Kuisioner diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya terhadap responden pelanggan produk buatan PT Karya Pak Oles. Hasil kuisioner kemudian dianalisis deskriptif kualitatif untuk mengetahui karakteristik responden. Analisis kuantitatif untuk mengetahui kinerja bauran pemasaran, serta mengetahui hubungan antara bauran pemasaran dengan terhadap kepuasan dan loyalitas.Pada penelitian didapatkan hasil bahwa setiap komponen komponen bauran pemasaran (produk, harga, promosi, dan tempat) pengaruh positif terhadap kepuasan. Dimana komponen bauran pemasaran yang memiliki pengaruh dominan adalah harga dan diikuti oleh produk. Hubungan kepuasan konsumen terhadap loyalitas memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap loyalitas konsumen PT Pak Oles di DenpasarKata kunci: bauran pemasaran, kepuasan, loyalitas
