Abstract

Delay the preparation of the thesis can be regarded as academic procrastination, which is kind of  delays  that  made  the tasks  related to  formal  academic  (Joseph  Ferrari,  1995). Students who  feel distress and perform procrastination of the  thesis work, need to get support from the people around him.   The purpose  of this study  to  determine the relationship  between  social support  to students with academic procrastination in writing his thesis.   Subjects in this study Sahid University of Surakarta student in 2005-2007 and the forces working on thesis or final project. Sampling was purposive sampling with the measuring tool of procrastination scale, scale stress and social support scale.   Based on calculations  between  social support  variables  with  the variable  academic procrastination obtained a correlation coefficient (r) 0.603, p = 0.000 (p <0,05). While distress variables with academic procrastination variable obtained correlation coefficient (r) of 0.318, p =  0.046  (p <0,05). The  results  showed  there was a significant negative relationship  between social support with academic procrastination

Abstract

Consumers complain is disappointing expression toward industry. This research aimed to find the correlation between assertively and consumers complain intensity. The hypothesis is to find correlations between assertively and consumers complain intensity of students. The population is students who stay in Yogyakarta. The sample is taken with random sampling, the collecting data methods used assertively scale and consumers complain  intensity scale. The data analysis with product moment analysis shows that there is significant correlation between assertively and consumers complain intensity. The result is r=0.734 and p=0.000 (p<0.01), that means there are positive correlation between  assertively and consumers complain intensity; more assertively and doing so consumers complain intensity. The assertively aspects can be good predictor of consumers complain intensity.

Abstract

A disruption in childhood who became frightened most mothers today is autism. According Hopes and Harris (in Berkell, 1992), a mother with an autistic child will experience greater stress than mothers with children who have mental  retardation due to loss of critical interpersonal responses in the autistic children. The purpose of the study The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between social support to adjustment in mothers of children with autism. And to find out how big the role of social support on adjustment to parents (mothers) of children with autism. The research subject of autistic children who were fostered (in therapy / consultation) in the institution "Ananda Mitra" Colomadu. The research sample is purposive sample because by certain characteristics. These characteristics are: 1) a minimum education level of parents of high school and 3) Domiciled in Surakarta Solo and the surrounding areas. Based on the results of the calculation of analytical techniques obtained Pearson product moment correlation coefficient (rxy) at = 0.573, p = 0.000 (p <0,01). These results indicate there is significant positive correlation between social support to adjustment in mothers of children with autism, because it can be interpreted that the social support variables can be used as predictors (independent variables) to predict or measure the adjustment in mothers of children autism.

Abstract

This  research  aimed  to  understand  the  effectiveness  of  Training  on  the  Skill  of Managing  Public  Speaking  Anxiety  Using  Cognitive-Behavioral  Approach,  on  the  way  it can reduce the level of Public Speaking Anxiety. The experiment design used in this research is Non-randomized Pre-test and Post-test  Control  Group  Design,  with  the  subjects  were 20  undergraduate  students  of  Sahid University Surakarta experiencing public speaking anxiety. The  result  of  statistical  analysis  using  the  Mann-Whitney’s  test  are  :  there  was significantly different level of public speaking anxiety between the experimental group and control group at pre-test and post-test, with z =  -2,374 (p<0,01). The phi square is 0,5388. It means that the training gave 53,88% on reducing the level of public speaking anxiety. The model of Training on the Skill of Managing Public Speaking Anxiety Using Cognitive-Behavioral  Approach  was  effective  to  reduce  the  level  of  public  speaking  anxiety.  So,  it was matched with the hypothesis of this research.
