Abstract

This study aimed to find out the magnitude of resistance and effective power onthe three casco models of purse seiner i.e. round bottom, round flat-bottom and U-V bottom. In the present study, we employed a numerical simulation using Holtrop and Mennenn method. To get the values of motion resistance and effective power on various purse seiner, it was used the purse seiner speed of 0-12 knot. We developed the simulation using 12 purse seiner sampling data which were operating in Makassar Strait. Simulation results indicated that the increasing main dimension of purse seiner was proportional to the increasing the magnitude of resistance and effective power. This study suggested that the round flat of casco model has greater resistance compared with the other casco model for purse seiner operating in Makassar Strait.

Abstract

This research aims to study the variety of fishing boats based on several technical aspects. This research was carried out from September of 2013 through January of 2014.  This study collected the sampling data (boats at docking condition) in approximately 10 % of existing population along south coast from Takalar regency. The data were analyzed using cluster and PCA (Principal Componen Analysis) to assess the categorization of the boats based on the main dimension size and the mark of the main dimension ratio. The results showed that there are five groups of categorization which have different characteristics on its group. The group I was the boat which has high width and length (L/B), the group II was the boat which has high height and length ratio (L/D), the group III was the boat which has low height and length percentage (L/D), the group IV the boat which had high length, width, height, and the high water loaded (L, BOA, D, and d), and the group V was the boat which had high width and height ratio (B/D).

Abstract

Satelit penginderaan jauh dapat memberikan informasi sistematis tentang kondisi oseanografi. Penelitian ini bertujuan memetakan zona potensial penangkapan ikan (ZPPI) cakalang di Teluk Bone selama April-Juni 2012 menggunakan citra suhu permukaan laut (SPL) dan klorofil-a yang dikombinasikan dengan data penangkapan pole and line.  ZPPI dipetakan menggunakan teknik sistem informasi geografis yang dikonstruksi dari hasil analisis fungsi distribusi kumulatif empiris dan generalized additive model (GAM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama bulan April-Juni di Teluk Bone, ZPPI cenderung berada pada area 120.5-121.5° BT dan 3.5-5° LS. Lokasi dengan nilai Catch per unit effort (CPUE) yang tinggi tersebut diindikasikan dengan kondisi SPL dan konsentrasi klorofil-a masing-masing antara 28.75-31.5° C dan antara 0.10 dan 0.2 mg m-3.  Kombinasi nilai preferensi faktor oseanografis tersebut diduga kuat merefleksikan kondisi kelimpahan makanan yang cukup tinggi dimana zona tersebut pada gilirannya menjadi daerah tempat berkumpulnya gerombolan ikan cakalang dan menjadi zona target bagi penangkapan pole and line di Teluk Bone. Satellite remote sensing provides systematically important information on oceanographic conditions. Sea surface temperature (SST) and sea surface chlorophyll-a concentration (Chl-a) derived from Aqua/ Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data together with skipjack catch data during April-June 2012 were used to map potential fishing zones for skipjack tuna in the Bone Bay.  Geographic information system was then employed to map out of the potential fishing zones generated by non-linear model (Generalized Additive Model/GAM) and the empirical cumulative distribution function (ECDF) analyses.  Results indicated that the highest catch per unit efforts (CPUE) mostly occurred in areas of 120.5-121.5° E dan 3.5-5° S. These areas were significantly associated with SST and chlorophyll-a concentration ranged from 28.75- 31.5°C and 0.10 - 0.20 mg m-3, respectively.  The locations of occurrence of the preferred oceanographic factors suggested the area where feeding opportunity for skipjack schools enhanced and then provided potential fishing grounds for pole and line fishery in Bone Bay.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi hubungan antara hasil tangkapan Ikan Tongkol (Euthynnus sp) dengan faktor oseanografi dan memetakan Zona Potensial Penangkapan Ikan Tongkol (Euthynnus sp) di Perairan Selat Makassar. Data yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah data lapangan dan parameter oseanografi dari Juli hingga Oktober 2018, kemudian diolah dan dianalisis di Laboratorium Sistem Informasi Perikanan dan Geospasial Kelautan, UNHAS. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode survei untuk memperoleh data primer. Sedangkan data sekunder berupa data citra suhu permukaan laut (SST), Klorofil – a dan Salinitas. Analisis data menggunakan fungsi GAM untuk mengetahui parameter yang paling berpengaruh. Pembuatan peta zona potensial penangkapan ikan tongkol menggunakan Softwere Arcgis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa parameter yang berpengaruh terhadap hasil tangkapan adalah klorofil – a (0.21 – 0.24 mg/m3), suhu permukaan laut (28.5 – 29.5 0C) dan salinitas (32.6 – 33.0 ppt). Zona potensial penangkapan ikan tongkol secara spasial umumnya berada pada titik koordinat antara 3 0 23 ’ 28.37 ’’ LS sampai 5 0 33 ’ 19.33 ’’ LS dan antara 117 0 0 ’43.21 ’’ BT sampai 119 0 34 ’ 31.96 ’’ BT.Kata kunci : Tongkol, zona potensial penangkapan, Klorofil-a, SPL, salinitas, GAM

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghitung produktivitas hasil tangkapan dan hubungannya dengan kondisi oseanografi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Mei-Juli 2018 yang bertempat di Desa Tana Beru, Kecamatan Bontobahari, Kabupaten Bulukumba. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode studi kasus, pengambilan data dilakukan dengan mengikuti operasi penangkapan selama 30 trip. Meliputi pengukuran dan penimbangan hasil tangkapan, perhitungan waktu penarikan tali kolor dan parameter oseanografi. Analisis data dilakukan terhadap produktivitas hasil tangkapan ikan tongkol (E.affinis) dan hubungan produktivitas hasil tangkapan dengan kondisi oseanografi menggunakan uji cobb douglas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ikan tongkol yang tertangkap dengan purse seine hidup pada kisaran suhu 27-30OC. Produktivitas penangkapan ikan tongkol dengan purse seine berkisaran antara 1.87 kg/menit - 14.50 kg/menit, dan berdasalkan analisis regresi diketahui bahwa suhu memiliki hubungan yang signifikan terhadap produktivitas penangkapan.
