Abstract

Research on "The ethnobotanical study of medicinal plants of Topo Uma Tribe in Oo Parese village Kulawi district Central Sulawesi has been conducted from August to October 2014. This study aimed to obtain information about the kinds of plants are utilized as medicine, organ herbs used, the type of disease being treated and how it is used by Uma Topo tribe in the village of Oo parese.  The research method was a survey method to obtain quantitative and qualitative data. A total of 41 (forty-one) respondents including traditional leaders, shaman/"sando", nurses and local communities in semi-structured interview to obtain the necessary data. The result showed there were  32 species of plants are utilized as a medicinal plant. Plant organ was used such as leave, fruit, stem, bark, secd and root. There were some deaseas can be treatied like. Chronic desease, by different kind of application method, i.e mashed, squeezed, smeared used as fresh vegetables and stewed before served.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to identify the earthworm and how population earthworm in Biopore Absortion Holesfilled with cocoa pod waste. The study was conducted from April to August 2015 in the Sibonu Village, Sigi District Central Sulawesi province. Samples are preserved into alcohol series i.e 30%, 50%, and 70% before stored into alcohol 70 % for the pickling and identification process. Sample identification was executed at Laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Basic Sciences, Tadulako  University, Palu using identification key by Sims and Easton (1972) and Easton (1979). There are only one species found in the field namely Planapheretima sp. and earthworm juvenile which is belongs to family Megascolecidae. The result showed that there was one species is Planapheretima sp. and other individual are still in the juvenile phase of the family Megascolecidae of subgenus Planaheretima. The highest population density of earthworm is the biopore absortion holes 3 (cocoa pod waste), compared to the biopore absortion holes 1-2 (cocoa pod waste), K+ (without cocoa pod waste) and K- (without biopore absortion holes).

Abstract

The objective of this study is to determine the diversity of the soil macrofauna in Biopore Absoption Holes filled with cocoa pod waste (Theobroma cacaoL.). The study was conducted from April to August 2015 in the cocoa plantations Sibonu Village, Sigi District, Central Sulawesi. Sample identification executed in laboratory of Biology, Faculty of Basic Sciences,Tadulako University. The method used in this study are handsorting. There are six species identified from the field i.e: scorpion (Mastigoproctus giganteus), spiders (FamilyLycosidae), red small-millipedes (Order Spirobolida) and black small-millipedes (Order Pselaphognatha), legthousand yellow (ClassDiplopoda) and earthworms (class Oligochaeta). Diversity and even ness indexes are low.

Abstract

Padi merupakan tanaman penghasil beras yang menjadi tanaman pangan utama di Indonesia.produksi beras yang sedikit mengharuskan indonesia menginport beras dalam upaya mencukupi kebutuhan pangannya. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan merupakan penilaian dan pendugaan potensi lahan untuk penggunaan tertentu. Dengan evaluasi lahan tersebut, potensi lahan dapat dinilai dengan tingkat pengelolaan yang dilakukan. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada Kelompok Tani Sri Mulya Desa Pringgondani Kecamatan Sukadana Lampung Timur. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan yang dilakukan menggunakan kriteria biofisik menurut Djaenuddin dkk. (2000), dan penilaian secara ekonomi dengan menganalisa kelayakan finansial dengan menghitung nilai NPV, Net B/C Ratio, dan IRR. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan, bahwa lahan pertanaman padi pada Kelompok Tani Sri Mulya Desa Pringgondani Kecamatan Sukadana Lampung Timur menurut kriteria Djaenuddin dkk. (2000) adalah cukup sesuai (S2) dengan faktor pembatas KTK, pH, dan C-organik (nr) (S2nr) dan usaha tani pada lokasi penelitian secara finansial layak untuk dilanjutkan dengan nilai rata-rata NPV sebesar Rp 32.315059,-, Net B/C 2,66 bulan-1, dan IRR 44,88 %.

Abstract

Salah satu wilayah di Sulawesi Tengah yang memiliki ekosistem hutan bakau adalah kawasan oantai Kelurahan Kabonga Kecil, Kecamatan Banawa, Kabupaten Donggala. Hutan bakau yang masih banyak ditumbuhi pepohonan masih sangat memungkinkan menjadi habitat dari berbagai fauna akuatik termasuk kepiting bakau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifkasi dan mendeskripsi jenis kepiting mangrove famili Ocypodidae di Kabonga Kecil, Banawa, Sulawesi Tengah. Koleksi sampel dilaksanakan pada bulan JUnu 2016 dan Januari 2017 menggunakan metode purposive sampling pada empat stasiun peneltiian di area pasang surut hutan mangrove. Identifikasi dilakukan di laboratorium biodeiversitas jurusan Biologi FMIPA UNTAD dan laboratorium Crustacea, MZB, LIPI. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat enal spesies kepiting famili Ocypodidae di Kabonga Kecil. Keenam spesies tersebut termasuk ke dalam 3 genus yaitu (Austruca (A. annulipes, A. triangularis, dan A. perplexa). Tubuca (T. dussumieri dan T. demani), dan Gelasimua (G. vocans)

Abstract

Sulawesi is one of the four Greater Sunda Islands characterized by rivers and lakes habitats of freshwater shrimps and prawns with a high degree of endemism. The freshwater shrimp and prawns diversity in the Batusuya river of Donggala is less studied compared to the ancient lakes in the Central Sulawesi area. This study aimed to determine the diversity of freshwater shrimp and prawns of the Batusuya river. The sample was collected in November 2016 using tray net. The study site divided into three sampling stations based on the type of habitat. Nine species of freshwater shrimps and prawns were found, i.e., Macrobrachium australe, M. esculentum, M. horstii, M. lar, M. placidulum, Caridina brevicarpalis, C. gracilipes, C. weberi, and Atyopsis spinipes. Six species were found in all localities including Macrobrachium australe, M. esculentum, M. horstii, M. lar, C. brevicarpalis, and C. gracilipes, while M. placidulum, C. weberi, and A. spinipes were not found in all stations. The highest diversity index (H') was found in the station III indicated freshwater shrimps and prawns favored the environmental conditions of this station. The highest measure of species richness (R) was found in the station I and presumably related to the life cycle of freshwater shrimps and prawns which is amphidromous. The occurrence of nine species of freshwater shrimps and prawns along the Batusuya river indicated the environmental condition of the stream was suitable for most freshwater shrimps and prawns, and the Macrobrachium australe was found as the most abundant species.
