PEMBELAJARAN KESETIMBANGAN KIMIA MENGGUNAKAN MODEL DISCOVERY LEARNING DALAM MENINGKATKAN KETERAMPILAN ELABORASI

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of discovery learning model to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters.  The population of this research was students in XI science grade of SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro odd semester academic year 2013-2014.  The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique and these were XI 1 and XI 2 of science grade.  The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between control and experiment class.  The result showed that the average n-gain of student’s elaboration skills of control was 0,271 and 0,512 for experiment class.  The result of hypothesis testing showed that discovery learning model was effective to increase student’s elaboration skills on chemical equilibrium subject matters. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Muhammadiyah 1 Metro semester ganjil Tahun Pelajaran 2013-2014.  Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling dan sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2.  Metode penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Desaign.  Efektivitas model discovery learning ditunjukkan oleh perbedaan n-gain yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen.  Hasi penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,271 dan kelas eksperimen 0,512.  Hasi pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pembelajaran menggunakan model discovery learning efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi siswa pada materi kesetimbangan kimia. Kata kunci:  kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, model discovery learning

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe effectiveness of advance organizer learning model to improving skills of defining and taking conclusion skill on the matter of  solubility and solubility product. The subject in this research were students in classroom XI IPA3 SMA N 7 Bandar Lampung. This research used a pre-experiment method with One Group pretest-posttest design. The effectiveness of advance organizer learning model was measured by the n-gain average. The research results showed that the average of n-gain values of skills in defining and drawing conclusions were 0.48 (middle category) and 0.54 (middle ca-tegory) respectively. This shows that (1) a model of advance organizer is effective to enhance the skill of defining in the medium category (2) a model of advance organizeris effective to enhance the skill of taking conclusion in the medium category.Keywords: advance organizer, skills in defining and taking conclusion

Abstract

Chemistry is one of knowledges that learn abstract phenomena. Generally, chemical learning at this momen only in makroscopic and symbolic dimension, whereas submicroscopic often deserted. The research aim to develop module of multiple representation based on the chemical reaction rate material.Method used on this research is research and development (R & D) according to Sugiyono (2008). But on this research, step only arrive to step of main product revision. Research and development on this research have three steps. There are step 1st) needs analysis that consist of literature study and field study, step 2nd ) planning and development that consist of planning preliminary product, develop preliminary product,validation, and preliminary product revision, step 3th) preliminary field test, and main product revision.            Results of this research is development module of reaction rate based on multiple representations  which have characteristic: 1) module refers to the SK and KD, 2) material packaged in units of learning activities, modules arranged in a systematic and attractive, giving rise to interest in reading to students, 3) the material presented in the modules developed chemical, described by multiple representations, 4) accompanied by examples and illustrations that support the material, 5) the language used is simple and communicative, 6) have level of contents suitability is very high that is 91,67 % and have level of aspects graph 94,00 % according to teacher, also have high level of legibilityt is very high that is 90,98% according students. Key words :  module, multiple representation, the chemical reaction rate material

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the effectiveness of scientific approach to improve the elaboration skills in chemical equilibrium subject matter. The method of the research was quasi experimental with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was students of class XI IPA SMAN 1 Purbolinggo semester of academic year 2013-2014. Sampling was done by purposive sampling and obtained class XI IPA 2 as experimental class and XI IPA 4 as control class. The effectiveness of scientific approach in the learning was showed by the significant difference of n-gain between experiment and control class. The results showed that the average n-gain of elaboration skills of control class was 0,28 and 0,55 for experiment class. The result of hypothesis testing showed that scientific approach was effective to improve the elaboration skills in the learning of chemical equilibrium.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas pendekatan scientific dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata n-gain keterampilan elaborasi untuk kelas kontrol dan eksperimen masing-masing sebesar 0,28 dan 0,55.  Hasil pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan scientific efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan elaborasi pada pembelajaran kesetimbangan kimia.Kata kunci: kesetimbangan kimia, keterampilan elaborasi, pendekatan scientific.

Abstract

This research was aimed to describe the discovery learning model to increase students’ flexibility thinking skills on acid-base matery. The method of the research was quasi-experimental with Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The population of this research was all students grade XI in science class of SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran whose sit in second semester academic in year 2013/2014. The samples were taken by purposive sampling technique then obtained XI IPA1 and XI IPA2 classes as sample of reseach. The effectiveness of discovery learning model was showed by the significant difference of n-Gain between control and experiment classes. The results showed that the average n-Gain in control and experiment classes respectively 0,34 and 0,63. Proving the hyphothesis (t-test) showed that discovery learning model is effective to increase students flexibility thinking skills on acid-base matery.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan model discovery learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir fleksibel siswa pada materi asam-basa. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan Non Equivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA SMA Negeri 1 Pagelaran semester genap Tahun Pelajaran 2013/2014. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling sehingga diperoleh kelas XI IPA1 dan XI IPA2 sebangai sampel penelitian. Abstract

This study aims to develop the student worksheet based on chemical representation of buffer solution material, to describe the responses of teachers and students responses to the worksheet based on the chemical representation of buffer solution material. This study uses the Research and Development. Based on the teacher responses, the student  worksheet that is developed obtained data about aspects of the suitability of the content is 85.00%,  aspects of legibility is 84.00%,  aspects of attractiveness is 81.53%, while based on students responses obtained data on aspects of legibility is 87.46 % and the aspect of the attractiveness is 85.13%. Results of teacher and students response states that thestudentworksheetwhich is developed has a very high quality.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) berbasis representasi kimia pada materi larutan penyangga, mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan tanggapan siswa terhadap LKS berbasis representasi kimia pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan.  Berdasarkan tanggapan guru, LKS yang dikembangkan diperoleh data tentang aspek  kesesuaian isi sebesar 85,00%, aspek  keterbacaan sebesar 84,00% dan aspek kemenarikan sebesar 81,53% , sedangkan tanggapan siswa diperoleh data tentang aspek keterbacaan sebesar 87,46% dan aspek kemenarikan sebesar 85,13%.  Hasil dari tanggapan guru dan siswa menyatakan bahwa LKS yang dikembangkan memiliki kualitas sangat tinggi.  Kata kunci: larutan penyangga, lembar kerja siswa, representasi kimia

Abstract

This research aimed to describe the abilities of answering questions of what your main point and why on the colloid subject using problem solving models for high, intermediate and low level cognitive group of students. The subjects were students of class XI IPA5 SMA Negeri 1 Natar Academic Year 2012/2013. This research used the pre-experimental method, one-shot case studydesign, and descriptive research. The results showed that the ability answering question of what your main point in high level group, 60% were excellent, and 40% were good; intermediate level group, 15% were excellent, 40% were good, and 45% were enough; low level group, 10% were good, 60% enough, and 30% were less.  The ability answering question of why in high level group, 60% were excellent, and 40% were good; intermediate level group, 15% were excellent, 45% were good, and 40% were enough; low level group, 40% were good, and 60% were enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan apa alasan utama anda dan mengapa pada materi koloid menggunakan model pembelajaran problem solving untuk siswa kelompok kognitif tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Subyek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA5 SMA Negeri 1 Natar tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pre-eksperimen, desain one-shot case study, dan analisis data deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan menjawab pertanyaan apa alasan utama anda, untuk kelompok tinggi, 60% berkriteria sangat baik, dan 40% baik; kelompok sedang, 15% berkriteria sangat baik, 40% baik, dan 45% cukup; kelompok rendah, 10% berkriteria baik, 60% cukup, dan 30% kurang. Abstract

This research aimed to develop an animation media of particles matter based on chemistry representation for student in junior high school; describe the characteristics of developed animation media; describe the teachers’ feedback and students response to an animation media of particles matter based on chemistry representation; and knowing the obstacles encountered when developing an animation media of particles matter based on chemistry representation.  This research use the Research and Development method.  The results showed that teachers’ responses of the developed animation media in the content’s suitability aspect were 93% and in the readable aspect were 94%.  All of the teachers’ responses were very hight category.  The result showed that students’ responses of the developed animation media in the content’s readable aspect were 91,69% and in the attraction aspect were 86,70%.  All of students’ responses were very high category. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media animasi partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia untuk siswa pada tingkat Sekolah Menengah Pertama; mendeskripsikan karekteristik media animasi yang dikembangkan; mendeskripsikan tanggapan guru dan siswa terhadap media animasi partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia; dan mengetahui kendala-kendala yang dihadapi ketika mengembangkan media animasi partikel materi berbasis representasi kimia. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode Penelitian dan Pengembangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tanggapan guru terhadap media animasi yang dikembangkan pada aspek kesesuaian isi adalah 93% dan keterbacaaan sebesar 94%, semua termasuk kriteria sangat tinggi. Menurut tanggapan siswa pada aspek keterbacaan adalah 91,69% dan kemenarikan sebesar 86,70%, semua termasuk kriteria sangat tinggi.Kata kunci: media animasi, partikel materi, representasi kimia

Abstract

The learning process is strongly influenced by the ability and accuracy of teachers in selecting and applying the learning model. The model can be applied to improve of  simple explanation and inferencetion skill is a model of problem solving. The purpose of this study was to describe the model of problem solving that are effective in improving simple explanation and inferencetion skills on the material electrolyte and non-electrolyte solution. This research use a quasi-experimental methods with Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling technique. The samples in this study were high school students Bandar Lampung Fransiskus X4 and X5 class even semester 2012-2013 School Year. Effectiveness of the learning model of problem solving is measured based on a significant increase in gain and t-test. The results showed the average value of n-Gain a simple explanation skills for the control and experimental classes 0.47 and 0.75, while the average n-Gain inferencetion skills to control and experimental classes 0.54 and 0.66. This suggests that learning is effective in improving of simple explanation and inferencetion skills with problem solving.Keywords: Problem Solving, a simple explanation skills, inference skills

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning model in solubility and solubility product concept to enhance skill in answering questions.  Students who became the subject of this research was  XI grade of Science 1 Batanghari Senior High School in Batanghari Academic Year 2011/2012. This research used the pre-experimental method and one group pretest-posttest design.  The effectiveness of problem solving learning model was determined based on the average value of n-Gain.  The results of this research showed that the average value of n-Gain of skills in answering questions about definition and why were 0,7 and 0,33.  Thus, it can be concluded that the problem solving learning model in solubility and solubility product concept effective to enhance answering question about definition was in high category and answering whyquestion was in medium category. Keywords: problem solving learning, answering questions skills.
