Abstract

The Marginal Land in Indonesia still in very large amount. Meanwhile, the accelerate to rehabilitate the land still very slow. The low of pH, C-Organik, N-Total, P and K-exchangeable become the parameter of marginal land condition. Therefore carried out research which combine acid humic and NPK fertilizer which applied to marginal land and seen its influence to growth of seed of suren. Research has been  done in green house at Faculty Of Agriculture of USU on March-May 2012 using completely randomized factorial design of two factors that is concentration of  humic acid ( 0%, 2.5% and 5%) and dose prular NPK fertilizer ( 0 gr; 1 gr; 2 gr; 3 gr and 4 gr per crop). The parameters observed were height of the plant, diameter of stem, dry wight, wide total of leaf and ratio of root crown. The results of research indicate that the concentration of humic acid do not have an effect on the reality to all of the parameters except to parameter of ratio of root crown. But dosage of  NPK fertilizer have significantly effect to all of the parameters. The combination of the concentration of humic acid and NPK fertilizer do not have an effect on the reality to all parameter. All of the dose of NPK fertilizer  besides control have a different significantly to the growth of the plant. Thereby, using of NPK fertilizer is good to growth of plant on marginal land media. Abstract

The use of chemical nitrogen fertilizer tends to be high on soils with low nitrogen nutrient status, it can affect the balance of the global N cycle, contamination of ground water and the increasing N2O (nitric monoxide is one of the greenhouse gases). The objective of this research to compare the effect of nitrogen fertilization and application of Rhizobium on nitrogen uptake efficiency, growth and yield of three varieties of soybeans In Soil With Nutritrional Status Low Nitrogen. The research was conducted at the practice field Agricultural Extention Collage Medan, Deli Serdang North Sumatra Province in August-December, 2014. The method used is split-slip plot design with the main plot Rhizobium application and without Rhizobium, subplot is the varieties used are Burangrang, Tanggamus and Wilis. Sub-sub plot is the standard of N fertilization, that is: control, urea 50 kg / ha, 100 kg / ha and 150 kg / ha. Variable observations include: nitrogen absorption, plant dry weight, nodule and production. The results showed that the application of Rhizobium on the variety Wilis provide a significant response to the increased absorption of nitrogen, whereas the the varieties Burangrang and Tanggamus not give a significant response to increased nitrogen absorption. Urea fertilizer dose of 150 kg / ha on the use of Rhizobium inoculant tends to give a negative reaction to the Physiology Efficiecy Of Nitrogen Absorbtion (PEN), nodule, and weight of 100 grains. Physiology Efficiecy Of Nitrogen Absorbtion (PEN) of three varieties tested were not affected by the level of nitrogen fertilization and the addition of Rhizobium.Keywords: Soybean, Efficiency Nitrogen, Rhizobium

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui respon pemberian Bahan Organik TKKS dan Mikoriza terhadap pertumbuhan stum karet berpayung dua ditanah cekaman kekeringan pada kadar 60 %. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di rumah kasa Fakultas Pertanian USU (± 25 m dpl) pada bulan November 2014 – Mei 2015 menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap Faktorial (RAL) dengan dua faktor. Fakktor pertama yaitu dosis Bahan Organik Tandan Kosong Kelapa Sawit (TKKS) dengan 4 taraf yaitu 0 g/polybag, 300 g/polybag, 600 g/polybag, 900 g/polybag; dan faktor kedua yaitu jenis Mikoriza dengan 4 taraf yaitu tanpa mikoriza, Glomus, Acaulospora, Glomus+Acaulospora. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahawa aplikasi bahan organik TKKS memiliki pengaruh yang nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman dan cenderung nyata pada diameter batang. Dimana taraf terbaiknya diperoleh pada dosis 600 g/polybag. Pemberian Mikoriza tidak berpengaruh nyata namun dapat meningkatakan rata-rata tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Jenis mikoriza yang terbaik diperoleh pada jenis mikoriza yang digabung yaitu Glomus + Acaulospora. interaksi antara bahan organik TKKS dan Mikoriza tidak berpengaruh nyata namun dapat meningkatkan rata-rata tinggi tanaman dan diameter batang. Taraf kombinasi yang terbaik terdapat pada Bahan Organik TKKS 300 g/polybag dan Mikoriza Glomus + Acaulospora.Kata kunci: Bahan Organik TKKS, Mikoriza, Cekaman Kekeringan, dan Karet

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Jamur pelarut Fosfat, Dosis Pupuk P dan kombinasi jamur Pelarut Fosfat dan Dosis Pupuk P terhadap Pertumbuhan, P-tersedia dan produksi tanaman kentang (Solanum tuberosum L) pada Andisol terdampak erupsi Sinabung. Parameter yang diamati: Berat kering tanaman diukur pada akhir masa vegetatif, Produksi tanaman, Serapan P tanaman dan Analisa P tersedia tanah,dengan metode Bray II diukur pada akhir masa vegetatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Kombinasi perlakuan Jamur pelarut fosfat (T. pinophilus )dan SP36 berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan P-tersedia pada perlakuan J1P2 yaitu sebesar 71.65% bila dibanding dengan kontrol walaupun secara statistik tidak berpengaruh nyata. Pada parameter serapan P tanaman aplikasi perlakuan T. pinophilus dan SP36 berpengaruh nyata dalam peningkatan serapan P tanaman, perlakuan yang terbaik adalah T3P2 tetapi menurun dengan peningkatan dosis SP36 (P3=13g). Berat kering tanaman perlakuan T3P2 yang terbaik dan menurun dengan meningkatnya dosis SP36 (13 g). Peningkatan produksi tanaman kentang yang tertinggi yaitu J2P1 dengan produksi sebesar 1017.5g sedangkan tanaman kontrol 610 g.Peningkatan produksi tanaman kentang yaitu sebesar 66.8% lebih tinggi bila dibanding dengan kontrol. Aplikasi T. pinophilus sebanyak 20 mL dan 6.5g SP36 memiliki produksi yang terbaik, produksi menurun dengan peningkatan dosis T. pinophilus dan pupuk SP36.Kata kunci : Andisol, Dosis Pupuk P, tanaman Kentang, Talaromyces pinophilus

Abstract

Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang memiliki luas lahan pertanian ± 11.046 ha atau 48, 9 % dari luas Kecamatan ini, dimana seluas 7.048 ha adalah lahan sawah yang potensial namun belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal. Berdasarkan UU No 41 tahun 2009 bahwa perencanaan pengembangan lahan pertanian pangan berkelanjutan harus berdasarkan pada kriteria kesesuaian lahan yang dapa dilakukan dengan dukungan penelitian. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi karakteristik tingkat kesesuaian lahan sawah dan lahan kering di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang, untuk menganalisis usaha–usaha perbaikan yang perlu dilakukan dalam meningkatkan produktivitas tanaman dan untuk membuat peta kesesuaian lahan aktual dan kesesuaian lahan potensial tanaman padi sawah dan beberapa tanaman lahan kering di Kecamatan Hamparan Perak Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Metode analisisnya adalah dengan metode membandingkan (matching) menurut FAO. pemilihan satuan unit lahan berdasarkan peta tanah yang terdiri dari 12 titik bor dan 6 lobang profil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat kesesuaian lahan untuk tanaman padi sawah (Oryza sativa) adalah cukup sesuai (S2) seluas 14.093, 883 ha dan sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 17.347,141 ha. Untuk tanaman jagung (Zea mays) termasuk cukup sesuai (S2) seluas 19.391, 019 ha dan sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 12.050,005 ha. Untuk tanaman kedelai (Glicine max) termasuk sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 31.441,024 ha. Untuk tanaman ubi kayu (Manihot utilissima) termasuk kelas sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 31.441,024 ha. Untuk tanaman ubi jalar (Ipomea batatas) termasuk kelas sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 31.441,024 ha. Untuk tanaman sawo (Achras zapota) termasuk kelas cukup sesuai (S2) seluas 17.660,583 ha dan kelas sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 13.780,441 ha. Untuk tanaman mangga (Mangifera indica) termasuk kelas sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 31.441,024 ha. Untuk tanaman sukun (Astocarpus astilis) termasuk kelas cukup sesuai (S2) seluas 17.660,58 ha dan kelas sesuai marginal (S3) seluas 13.780,44 ha.Kata Kunci : Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan, tanaman lahan sawah, tanaman lahan kering, Kecamatan Hamparan Perak.

Abstract

Forest fire affect chemical, physical and biological properties of the soils. In the biological properties of the soil, forest fire also affects number of microorganisms and activity of microorganisms. The purpose of this research is calculate the value of soil microorganism with various periods of forest fires. The measure of the activities of microorganism using jar and titrimetri methods.The result of this research showed that value of  respiration in  unburn soil is 11,99. Value of respiration from forest fire soil in 2010 is 6,43. Value of respiration from  forest fire soil in 2011 is 10,28. Value of respiration from forest fire soil in 2012 is 16,28. Value of respiration from forest fire soil in 2013 is 11,14. Value of respiration from forest fire soil in 2014 is 8,14. Activity of microorganisms is almost the same between the occurrence of fire with soil unburn. Keywords: forest fire, soil microorganism, activity of microorganism

Abstract

The forest fire effect chemical, psysical and biological propesties of the soil. In the biological of soil, forest fire also effect the existence of phosphates solubilizing fungi. This research was conducted to determine the presence of Phosphates Solubilizing Fungi  in the former soil of fired forest by the time of the fire in Samosir Regency. Soil samples taken from former soil of fired forest and unfire forest at a dept 0 – 20 cm around rhizosfir. Soil analysis carried out in Research and Technology of University of North Sumatera along with isolation and identification phosphates solubilizing fungi at the Laboratory Soil Biology Agroekoteknologi Studies Program Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatera. The result showed that there were similitary and differences phosphates solubilizing fungi in former soil of fired forest and unfire forest. Phosphates solubilizing fungi consisting of 2 fungi genus there are Aspergillus and Penicillium. Keywords: Forest Fire, Phosphates Solubilizing Fungi

Abstract

Arbuscular Mycorrhizal Fungi (AMF) are cosmopolitan is almost found in a variety of ecosystems. Forest fires influence the biological properties of the soil, especially AMF. This research aims to study the status and diversity of AMF in the former soil of forest fires. Samples of soil and roots of plants was taken from the location of the fire in separate incidents during the 5 period and location unburn. Parameters observed that the degree of root infection, spores density and identification of the type of spores. Identification of mycorrhizae conducted at the Laboratory of Soil Biology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra, begin in May until September 2014. Morphology characteristics used to identify the type of AMF is a form of cell wall thickness, presence or absence of substanding hyphae, surface smoothness and spores  reaction to melzers. The results show that an increase in the average density of spores from the field and the results of trapping, for the average percentage of AMF colonization in the roots of plants at 50,65% include grade 3 and 4 or high categories. Found 2 genus, namely Genus Acaulospora and Genus Glomus. Of the field found as many as 35types of spores and trapping results are found as many as 40 types of spores. Abstract

Existence and Status of Arbuscular Mycorrhizae Fungi is affected by biotic and abiotic factor. The goal of this research is to know diversity of Arbuskular Mycorrhiza Underneath of durian (Durio zibethinus), kemiri (Aleurithes moluccana), asam gelugur (Garcinia atroviridis), and karet (Hevea brasiliensis). Soil sample has been taken from Arboretum Universitas Sumatera Utara under of four tree of MPTS. This research use soil separating method to obtain spores and root coloring method to find out root colonization. The obtained an average spore density on kemiri is 42 spores/50 g soil, durian is 42 spores/50 g soil, karet is 50 spores/50 g soil and asam gelugur is 62 spores/50 g soil. The result shows on four tree of MPTS obtained 23 spores types of Glomus and 8 spores types of Acaulospore with colonization percentage of durianis 25,6%, kemiri is 43,86%, Karet is 49,6% and Asam Gelugur is 50,5%. Abstract

Plumbum (Pb) is an environmental contaminant that risk for human’s health, reducing soil fungtion and productivity and damage for plants. Therefore, remediation is need to do such as bioremediation using AMF and sengon as a host. A research was conducted to knowing the effect of the addition of AMF for Pb content on Sengon in green house of Agriculture USU. Analyze of Pb metal was done at Research Laboratory of Pharmacy USU on October 2014- February 2015 using faktorial completely randomize design with two faktors, i.e Pb addition (0 and 400 ppm) and doses of mycorrhiza inoculation (0, 25 and 50 g). Parameters measured were root colonization, plant height, stem diameter, root drying weight, crown drying weight, crown root ratio, root Pb content, crown Pb content and soil Pb content after harvest.The results showed that Pb addition affected significantly on plant height, Pb content on root, crown and soil after harvesting parameter. Inoculation of mycorrhiza affected significantly on plant height, stem diameter, drying weight of root and crown. Inoculation of mycorrhiza did not significant on Pb content but capable to increasing Pb content on root, crown and soil. The interaction of the two faktors did not affected significantly on all parameters. Key words: Sengon, Pb, AMF
