Abstract

The objectives of this research were: 1) to analyze household characteristics in Village Ulu Krui and Village Laay; 2) to analyze knowledge, attitude and pratices of household in water using; 3) to analyze the chemical charactistic of water; and 4) to analyze relation between knowledge and river water usage. The research design is cross sectional. Data was collected by interviewing respondents. Data was analyzed using descriptive and inference statistics. Twenty nine housewife in Village Ulu Krui and twenty housewife in Village Laay were participated as respondents. Results of this research found that the average of family member was four people. Husband age was ranged from twentyfive to seventy three years old. The average of the husband age was fourty four years old. The wife age were range from twenty one to seventy three years old. The average of the wife age was fourty years old. The modus of education of husband was elementry school. The modus of occupation of husband was farmer and farmworker. The level of knowledge in river water usage was low, the level of attitude was moderate, the level of pratices using the river water was good. Keywords: knowledge, attitude, practice, river water

Abstract

The present study aims to analyze of relationship of the implementation of balanced nutrition messages family and behavior family nutrition awareness with under five years child nutritional status in West Kalimantan Province. The study uses Health Research Data Base of West Kalimantan Province in year 2007 with the design of cross-sectional study. The total of 1992 household samples were recruited in the study with criteria having child aged 6 to 59 months. Weight for height, weight for age and height for age indicators were used to measure child nutritional status. The results showed that three messages did not meet criteria as required by the Indonesian Food Guideines. Three messages did not meet criteria as required by the Indonesian Food Guidelines. They were eat food withr energy needs requaired, eat half of food sources of carbohydrate for energy needs and eating one of  fourth of food sources of fat for energy needs. Logistic multiple regression analysis showed that failure to follow the the Family Nutrition Awareness had 1.21 risk for children to became stunting than family to follow to guideline properly. Abstract

The present study aims to analyze of influence maternal education to under five years-old children in West Kalimantan Province. The study uses Health Research Data Base of West Kalimantan Province in year 2007 with the design of cross-sectional study. The total of 1992 household samples were recruited in the study with criteria having child aged 6 to 59 months. Weight for height, weight for age, and height for age indicators were used to measure child nutritional status. The results showed that Logistic multiple regression analysis showed that maternal education under level of junior high school had 1.28 risk for children to become stunting and 1.27 risk for children to become underweight than maternal education level of above junior high school. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to analyze effect of multivitamin mineral supplementation to hemoglobin and hematocrit concentration of Bogor Agricultural University First Common Year female students. Design of this study was the quasi experimental, double blind, with number of subjects were 28 female students devided into two group. The intervention group consisted of 15 subjects, received supplement syrup 15 ml per day for eight weeks.The control group consisted of 13 subjects received placebo syrup. Data collected by interviewing subjects used questionnaire, physical examination, and blood biomarkers. The results of statistical test (paired sample t-test) showed that there were no significant increase in hemoglobin and hematocrit concentration respectively in both intervention and control groups (p>0.05). However, on a subset of subjects anemia, the hemoglobin and hematocrit in the intervention group tended to increase larger than the control group.Keywords: anemia, female, hematocrit, hemoglobin, multivitamin mineral supplementsABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis efek suplementasi multivitamin mineral terhadap kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit mahasiswi Tingkat Persiapan Bersama Institut Pertanian Bogor (TPB IPB). Penelitian ini menggunakan desain eksperimental semu, tersamar ganda, dengan jumlah subjek sebanyak 28 yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok. Kelompok intervensi terdiri dari 15 subjek, mendapatkan sirup suplemen 15 ml setiap hari selama delapan minggu. Kelompok kontrol terdiri dari 13 subjek mendapatkan sirup plasebo. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara terhadap subjek menggunakan kuesioner, pemeriksaan fisik, dan pemeriksaan biokimia darah. Hasil uji statistik (paired sample t-test) menunjukkan tidak terdapat peningkatan yang nyata masing-masing kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit baik pada kelompok intervensi maupun kontrol (p>0.05). Namun, pada subset subjek yang anemia, peningkatan kadar hemoglobin dan hematokrit pada kelompok intervensi cenderung lebih besar dibandingkan pada kelompok kontrol.Kata kunci: anemia, hematokrit, hemoglobin, mahasiswi, suplemen multivitamin mineral

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of the study was to analyze the differences of applying educational media to change mother’s knowledge and attitude on the breakfast of the elementary school children in Bogor District. The study was a quasy experimental study. Subjects in this research were 225 mothers of elementary school children in the nine villages in Bogor District. Nutrition education media used for this study were power point slides, flip charts, and combination of the power point slides and leaflets. Score of knowledge and attitude on breakfast increased significantly after the intervention. ANOVA analysis results on knowledge and attitude on the breakfast showed better improvement for the combination of power point slides and leaflets. The proportion of knowledge and attitude of the mothers increased after the intervention. The combination of the power point slides and leaflets was the type of educational media which could increase the rate of mother’s knowledge and attitude score compared to power point slides and flip chart.Keywords: breakfast, elementary school children, nutritional educationABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbedaan penggunaan media pendidikan terhadap perubahan pengetahuan dan sikap ibu dalam sarapan anak sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bogor. Desain pada penelitian ini adalah studi eksperimental semu. Subjek penelitian adalah 225 orang ibu dari anak sekolah dasar dari sembilan desa di Kabupaten Bogor. Media pendidikan gizi yang digunakan adalah slide power point, flip chart, dan kombinasi slide power point dan leaflet. Skor pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktek sarapan meningkat signifikan antara sebelum dan setelah intervensi. Hasil analisis ANOVA pada pengetahuan dan sikap sarapan menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih baik pada kombinasi slide power point dan leaflet. Proporsi pengetahuan dan sikap ibu meningkat setelah intervensi. Kombinasi slide power point dan leaflet merupakan media pendidikan yang dapat meningkatkan rata-rata skor pengetahuan dan sikap sarapan ibu paling tinggi dibandingkan dengan media slide power point dan flip chart.Kata kunci: anak sekolah dasar, pendidikan gizi, sarapan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of a healthy breakfast campaign on the changes in knowledge, attitudes, and breakfast habits among elementary school children in Bogor District. A quasy experimental study was applied to this study. Subjects in this study were 229 elementary school children in the nine villages in Bogor District. Nutrition education media used in this study were power point, puppets, picture cards, and drama. The school childrens knowledge and attitude showed that there was a significant difference between media intervention of power point, puppet, and drama to picture cards. The highest scores of knowledge (73.23±1.14) and attitude (91.84±1.09) was in picture cards. The percentage of subjects having a habit of breakfast before intervention was 78.2% and increased to 81.7% after intervention. Media intervention by picture cards gave highest change to increased breakfast knowledge, attitude, and habits for elementary school children.Keywords: breakfast, elementary school children, nutritional educationABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis pengaruh kampanye sarapan sehat terhadap perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan kebiasaan sarapan anak sekolah dasar di Kabupaten Bogor. Desain yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah studi eksperimental semu. Subjek penelitian adalah anak sekolah dasar berjumlah 229 siswa dari sembilan desa di Kabupaten Bogor. Media pendidikan gizi yang digunakan adalah power point, wayang, kartu bergambar, dan drama. Hasil analisis ragam menunjukkan bahwa jenis media kampanye berpengaruh nyata terhadap skor pengetahuan dan sikap anak SD terhadap sarapan. Media kartu bergambar mempunyai skor pengetahuan dan sikap tentang sarapan sehat tertinggi yaitu masing-masing sebesar 73.23±1.14 dan 91.84±1.09 berbeda nyata dengan media lainnya. Persentase subjek yang memiliki kebiasaan sarapan sebelum intervensi sebesar 78.2% dan meningkat menjadi sebesar 81.7% setelah intervensi. Media intervensi dengan menggunakan kartu bergambar memberikan perubahan peningkatan yang paling tinggi pada pengetahuan, sikap, dan kebiasaan sarapan pada anak sekolah dasar.Kata kunci: anak sekolah dasar, pendidikan gizi, sarapan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to analyze the effectiveness of vitamin C, vitamin E and multivitamin-mineral supplements on reducing plasma malondialdehyde (MDA) level among college students of IPB. The design of this study was quasi experimental with pre-post test and control design. The subjects were 24 healthy students and divided into 4 groups, namely 1) vitamin C group (given supplement of vitamin C 500 mg), 2) vitamin E group (given supplement of vitamin E 200 IU), 3) multivitamin-mineral group (given a supplement consisted of vitamin C 500 mg, vitamin E 30 mg, zinc 15 mg and copper 1.5 mg), and 4) control group who were not given any supplement intervention. The supplements in the form of capsule were given once daily for seven days. Before the intervention, the plasma MDA level of subjects were not different significantly (p>0.05). After 7 day intervention, the MDA level of VC, VE, and MVM group were reduced significantly compared to before intervention (p<0.05), whereas plasma MDA level of control group seemed increased although not significant compare to pre-intervention. The largest reduction was occured on vitamin E group (-55.1%), followed by vitamin C group (-47.2%), and multivitamin-mineral group (-44.7%). The ANOVA test shows that there was a significant difference on reduction of plasma MDA levels among groups. The difference occured between control group and each of intervention group of VC, VE, and MVM. There were no significant differences between two groups of intervention (p>0.05). Hence, the study shows that in 7 day intervention, vitamin C, vitamin E or multivitamin-mineral supplement had relative similar effects on reducing plasma MDA level.Keywords: MDA, multivitamin-mineral, supplement, vitamin C, vitamin EABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas pemberian suplemen vitamin C, vitamin E, dan multivitamin-mineral dalam menurunkan kadar MDA plasma pada mahasiswi alih jenis Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). Desain penelitian adalah quasi eksperimental dengan pre-post test with control design. Subjek berjumlah 24 orang yang sehat, terbagi atas 4 kelompok, yaitu 1) vitamin C, yang diberi vitamin C 500 mg; 2) vitamin E, yang diberi kapsul vitamin E 200 IU, 3) multivitamin-mineral, yang diberi tablet yang mengandung vitamin C 500 mg, vitamin E 30 mg, seng 15 mg dan tembaga 2.5 mg, serta 4) kontrol (K) yang tidak diberikan perlakuan apapun. Suplemen diberikan dalam bentuk kapsul sebanyak satu buah per hari selama tujuh hari. Pada saat sebelum intervensi, kadar MDA plasma subjek antar kelompok tidak berbeda signifikan (p>0.05). Setelah tujuh hari intervensi, pada kelompok intervensi terjadi penurunan yang signifikan (p<0.05), sementara pada kelompok kontrol relatif meningkat, meskipun tidak signifikan. Penurunan terbesar terjadi pada kelompok vitamin E (-55.1%), kemudian vitamin C (-47.2%), dan multivitamin-mineral (-44.7%). Uji beda ANOVA menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan perubahan kadar MDA antar kelompok setelah tujuh hari intervensi. Perbedaan terjadi antara kelompok kontrol dengan ketiga kelompok intervensi vitamin C, vitamin E, dan multivitamin-mineral, sedangkan antar kelompok intervensi tidak berbeda. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa selama tujuh hari intervensi, ketiga suplemen antioksidan memiliki efektivitas yang relatif sama.Kata kunci: MDA, multivitamin-mineral, suplemen, vitamin C, vitamin E

Abstract

Background: Human body requires water for the active and healthy life. Water is actually a nutrient, and there is a tendency that some people neglect its important roles for health. Water requirements can vary depends on physical activity, age groups, body weight, climate, and diet (energy intake).Objective: The study aimed to identify drinking habits and to assess water intake and its adequacy of teenagers in urban.Method: Cross-sectional study was conducted from May to June 2009 in high school SMAN 2 Bogor. The samples were healthy student at grade X and XI. The number of sample was 83 students which calculated based on mean estimation. Food and beverages consumption was assessed with 2 x 24 hours recall during a week-day and a week-end. Meanwhile, the last week drinking habits was collected by interviewed. Statistical analysis used here was independent t-test.Results: The average of water intake was 2582 ± 834 ml, whereas 2939 ± 922 ml for boys and 2250 ± 581 ml for girls. The total water intake was from solid foods (656 ± 265 ml) and beverages (1927 ± 704 ml). The contribution of drinking water to the total water intake was 51% for boys (1495 ml) and 58% for girls (1311 ml). The average water adequacy was 132% for boys and 111% for girls.Conclusion: The average of water intake was consider adequate in teenagers, however there was still 24.1% of them consumed less than 90% of water adequacy.

Abstract

Pemerintah Indonesia telah menyusun kebijakan nasional yang membatasi promosi susu formula bayi di kalangan tenaga kesehatan, yang merupakan adopsi dari International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Subtitues. Walaupun telah dikeluarkan kebijakan-kebijakan tersebut, tetapi masih dijumpai berbagai pelanggaran di kalangan tenaga kesehatan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tindakan bidan terhadap kebijakan menyusui. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional study. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari-April 2015 di Kota Bogor. Pada penelitian ini terdiri dari 39 bidan dan 76 ibu bayi. Pengetahuan bidan terhadap isi kebijakan tergolong rendah sedangkan sikap dan tindakan bidan tergolong baik. Variabel-variabel yang menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan dengan tindakan bidan adalah lama pengalaman praktik, tempat kerja, tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap. Usia dan pendidikan bidan merupakan variabel yang tidak berhubungan signifikan dengan tindakan bidan. Lama pengalaman praktik, tempat kerja, tingkat pengetahuan dan sikap merupakan faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tindakan bidan terhap pesan-pesan dalam kebijakan.Kata kunci : Sikap, pengetahuan, kebijakan, bidan, tindakan

Abstract

Pertumbuhan anak merupakan salah satu indikator status gizi dan kesehatan dalam populasi untuk mencerminkan kualitas sumber daya manusia. Stunting yaitu pertumbuhan linier yang terhambat dan merupakan hasil dari ketidakcukupan gizi dalam jangka waktu lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor risiko stunting pada anak usia 6-24 bulan di Kota Bogor. Penelitian ini merupakan desain crossectional dengan subjek 360 anak usia 6-24 bulan di Kota Bogor. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner yang terdiri dari keadaan sosial ekonomi orang tua, yaitu pendidikan, pekerjaan, dan pendapatan. Berat badan dan panjang badanlahir berdasarkan data yang diambil dari KMS dan buku KIA. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan uji chi square dan uji regresi logistik berganda. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa stunting anak usia 6-24 bulan sebesar 18,60%, faktor risiko stunting, yaitu berat badan lahir rendah <2500 gram (p=0,000; OR=4,192;95%CI=1,900-9,247) dan pendidikan ayah rendah, yaitu ≤SMA (p=0,035; OR=1,807; 95%CI=1,042-3,133). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa berat badan lahir rendah dan pendidikan ayah yang rendah merupakan faktor risiko yang berpengaruh terhadap stunting pada anak usia 6-24 bulan di Kota Bogor.Kata kunci : Stunting, faktor risiko, anak usia 6-24 bulan
