Abstract

This research aims to describe (1) lesson plan design; (2) learning process; (3) the appropriate evaluation systems (4) increasing of student’s scientific process skills; (5) increasing of acid base achievement through STAD type of cooperative in learning model. Conclusion of research are (1) lesson plan design was arranged on syntax: making group, delivering of purpose and motivating students, giving information, guiding study and group work, evaluating, giving quiz, and giving reward; (2) student activity achievement indicators at cycle III and teacher activity achieved at cycle II; (3) evaluation system was essay test by validity 0.630 (high), reliability of 0.71 (high), level difficulty (medium), and power discrimination (good); (4) student’s scientific process skills increase, 63,06% at cycle I , 72,91% at cycle II and 80,54 at cycle III; (5) student’s achievement increase 62,20% at cycle I, 73.7% at cycle II and 81,93 at cycle III.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan (1) desain rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran; (2) proses pembelajaran; (3) sistem evaluasi yang tepat; (4) peningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa; (5) peningkatan prestasi belajar materi Asam Basa dengan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah (1) desain RPP disusun berdasarkan sintak: membentuk kelompok, menyampaikan tujuan dan memotivasi siswa, menyajikan informasi, membimbing kelompok bekerja dan belajar, evaluasi, memberi kuis, dan memberikan penghargaan; (2) aktivitas siswa mencapai indikator keberhasilan pada siklus III dan aktivitas guru mencapai indikator keberhasilan pada silus II (3) Sistem evaluasi dengan tes uraian dengan nilai validitas 0,637 (tinggi), reliabilitas 0,77 (tinggi), tingkat kesukaran (sedang), dan daya pembeda (baik); (4) keterampilan proses sains siswa meningkat, 63,06% pada siklus I, 72,91 pada siklus II dan 80,54% pada siklus III (5) prestasi belajar siswa meningkat, 62,20% pada siklus I, 73,7% pada siklus II dan 81,93% pada siklus III.Kata kunci: kooperatif STAD, keterampilan proses sains, prestasi belajar

Abstract

The purpose of research was to find out the mastering comparison of thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model at MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  The population in this research is all of XI grade science students in academic year 2012/2013.  Samples  was taken by using purvosive sampling technique.  We got class XI IPA1 as a class experiment 1 and XI IPA2 as a class experiment  2.  This research used non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  The result of this research showed that there is a difference in score average of mastering thermochemical concept between learning cycle 6 phase model and learning cycle 3 phase model.  The average of thermochemical concept mastering by implementing learning cycle 6 phase model is higher than learning cycle 3 phase model, because learning cycle 6 phase model has more detail steps to improve the thermochemical concept mastering.Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui perbandingan penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase pada siswa MAN Krui Kabupaten Pesisir Barat.  Populasi dalam penelitian adalah semua siswa kelas XI IPA tahun ajaran 2012/2013.  Sampel diambil menggunakan teknik purposive sampling.  Diperoleh kelas XI IPA1 sebagai kelas eksperimen I dan kelas XI IPA2 sebgai kelas eksperimen II.  Penelitian menggunakan rancangan non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design.  Hasil dari penelitian terdapat perbedaan rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep termokimia antara model learning cycle 6 phase dengan learning cycle 3 phase dan rata-rata penguasaan konsep termokimia dengan model learning cycle 6 phase lebih tinggi dibandingkan model learning cycle 3 phase.  Hal ini karena model learning cycle 6 phase memiliki tahap-tahap lebih terperinci dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep termokimia.     Kata kunci :   model learning cycle 3 phase, model learning cycle 6 phase, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The study aims to describe (1) the existence of the average difference between the value of mastery of concepts hydrocarbon type STAD cooperative learning model along with problem posing strategies with conventional learning, (2) the average value of mastery of concepts which higher hydrocarbons between cooperative learning model types STAD with problem posing strategies with conventional learning. The population in this study were all students of class X SMAN 13 Bandar Lampung academic year 2011/2012. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. The samples in this study were 30 students of class X1 as a class experiment 1 and 30 X7-class students as a class experiment 2. The study design used was The Matching-Only Posttest-Only Control Group Design. The results showed that (1) there is a difference between the students mastery of concepts Hydrocarbon type STAD cooperative learning strategies with problem posing and conventional learning and (2) the average students mastery of concepts Hydrocarbons using STAD cooperative learning model type with problem posing strategy is higher than the average student mastery of concepts in hydrocarbon material using conventional learning.Keywords: type STAD cooperative learning strategies with problem posing, conventional learning, mastery of concepts

Abstract

The objective of this research is to know the effectiveness of Learning Cycle 5E (LC5E) model in basic laws of chemistry material in improving student’s study motivation and concepts mastery.  The research class was 23 students of X2 classroom that have an equal academic abilities. This was a pre experiment research using one group pretest-posttest design. Effectiveness of learning with LC5E model was measured based on significant gain improvements. The results showed that average value of N-gainof student’s study motivation in research class were 0,42 respectively; and average value of N-gain for concept mastery in research class was 0,5750 respectively. The hypothesis result test showed that classroom that used LC5E model had higher student’s study motivation and concept mastery than before. This indicated that LC5E model was more effective to improve student’s study motivation and student’s concept mastery at SMA Muhammadiyah I Way Jepara. Keywords: Learning Cycle 5E (LC5E), study motivation, and mastery of concept

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model in salt hydrolysis material in improving the skills in giving a simple explanation and implementing acceptable concept. Samples were 32 students in classroom XI science three as experiment and 31 students in classroom XI science four as control that have equal academic abilities. This was a quasi experiment research using non equivalent control group design.  Data analysis used a t-test of the n-Gain significant. The results showed that average value of n-Gain of skills in giving a simple explanation in experiment and control classrooms were 0.44 and 0.12 respectively; and average value of n-Gain for implementing acceptable concepts in experiment and control classrooms were 0.42 and 0.20 respectively with tcount (2.23) > ttable (1.67). The conclusion is that the guided inquiry learning model in salt hydrolysis was effective in improving skills in giving simple explanations and implementing acceptable concepts by students.Keywords: guided inquiry, meteri salt hydrolysis ,giving a simple explanation and apply the concept of acceptable.

Abstract

Research purposes to determine how differences in the average value concept mastery of chemical bonds between the students who were given STAD cooperative learning (Student Team Achevment devision) with a given type of cooperative learning NHT (Numbered Head Together). The sample in this study were students of class X Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung High School Academic Year 2012-2013. This research method and Quasi-Experimental design The Matching-Only Group Posttest-Only Design. The results obtained by the average value concept mastery of chemical bonds are given STAD cooperative learning is higher than that applied classroom cooperative learning model NHT. This shows the application of cooperative learning model STAD better in improving the mastery of the concept of chemical bonding.Tujuan penelitian menentukan bagaimana perbedaan rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep ikatan kimia antara siswa yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD (Student Team Achevment Devision)  dengan yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT  (Numbered Head Together).  Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XSMA Gajah Mada Bandar Lampung Tahun Pelajaran 2012-2013.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Quasi-Eksperimen dan desain  The Matching-Only Posttest-Only Group Desain.  Hasil penelitian diperoleh rata-rata nilai penguasaan konsep ikatan kimia yang diberi pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas yang diterapkan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT. Hal ini menunjukkan  penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD lebih baik dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep ikatan kimia.Kata kunci : pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD, pembelajaran kooperatif tipe NHT, penguasaan konsep.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to describe the effectiveness of problem solving learning to increase students’ fluency thinking ability through redox reactions material.  This research used Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique was using purposive sampling.  Population of the research was tenth grade student’s of SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung at second semester in the 2013/ 2014 year, the sample were, X science 1 and X science 2.  The effectiveness of problem solving learning analyzed based on the differences of significant n-Gain  between experiment and control classes.  The results showed that the average n-Gain score in experimental and control were 0,70 and 0,45. Based on hyphothesis testing, it can be concluded that problem solving learning is effective to increase students’ fluency thinking ability through redox reactions material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi reaksi redoks.  Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen Non Equivalent Control Group Design.  Teknik pemilihan sampel yang digunakan adalah teknik purposive sampling.  Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMA Negeri 3 Bandar Lampung semester genap tahun ajaran 2013/2014 dengan sampel penelitian adalah kelas X IPA1 dan kelas X IPA2.  Efektivitas model pembelajaran problem solving diukur berdasarkan perbedaan rata-rata nilai n-Gain yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai n-Gain kemampuan berpikir lancar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 0,70 dan 0,45.  Berdasarkan hasil pengujian hipotesis dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem solving efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir lancar siswa pada materi reaksi redoks. Kata kunci: kemampuan berpikir lancar, pembelajaran problem solving, reaksi redoks

Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe the effectiveness of  learning cycle 3E  learning model in improving the skills of inference and mastery of concepts in chemical equilibrium material. Learning cycle 3E model is learning through a series of stages (phases of learning) learning phases include: (1) the exploration phase, (2) explanation of the concept phase, and (3) the application of the concept phase. This study used a quasi-experimental method with Non Equivalent (Pretest and Posttest) Control Group Design. Effectiveness of the learning cycle 3E model  is measured by an increase in n-Gain significant. The results showed the average value of n-Gain inference skills for grade control and experimental respectively 0.40 and 0.53, and an average of n-Gain the possession concept for the control and experimental classes respectively 0.44 and 0 , 48. Thus, it can be concluded that the learning cycle 3E learning model in chemical equilibrium material effective to enhance inferensi skill and mastery of concepts in medium categoryKeywords: Learning Cycle 3E, inference skills and mastery of concepts

Abstract

The objective of this research was to describe the effectiveness of guided inquiry learning model which was effective in increasing of provide a simple explanation skill and mastery of concepts in the subject of colloidal systems. The samples of this research were the student of SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram class XI IPA 1 and XI IPA 3 at even semester year of 2012-2013. This research used quasi experiment method by Non Equivalent Control Group Design. The result of this research showed the average of provide a simple explanation skill n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,35 and 0,60 and the average of mastery concepts n-Gain for control class and experimental class were 0,54 and 0,63. Based on hypothesis testing, concluded that guided inquiry learning model was effective in increasing the provide a simple explanation skill and mastery of concepts.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan memberikan penjelasan sederhana dan penguasaan konsep pada materi koloid.Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa SMAN 1 Seputih Mataram kelas XI IPA1 dan kelas XI IPA3 semester genap Tahun ajaran2012-2013.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan Non EquivalentControl Group Design.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rerata n-Gain keterampilan memberikan penjelasaan sederhana untuk kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen masing-masing 0,35 dan 0,60 dan reratan-Gain penguasaan konsep untuk kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen masing-masing 0,54 dan 0,63. Abstract

This research aimed to describe the application of problem solving learning model in analyzing skill classifying and concept mastery for students cognitive groups of high, intermediate and low level group.  The subjects were students of class X1 IPA 3 SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung Academic Year 2012/2013.  This research used the pre-experimental method  with a one-shot case study design.  It was a descriptive research. The results showed skills group in high level group 87.5% were excellent and 12.50% were good; in the intermediate level group,34.78% were excellent  and 64.22% were good; in the low level group 14.29% were excellent, 35.71% were good, and 50% were enough.  Concept mastery, in the hight level group 75.00% were excellent and 25.00% were good; in the intermediate level group 26.68% were excelent, 69.59% were good, and 4.35% were enought; in the low level group 7.14% were excellent, 35.72% were good and 57.14% were enough.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model pembelajaran problem solving dalam menganalisis keterampilan mengelompokkan dan penguasaan konsep siswa untuk kelompok kognitif siswa kategori tinggi, sedang, dan rendah.  Subyek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI IPA3 SMA Al-Azhar 3 Bandar Lampung tahun ajaran 2012/2013. Metode penelitian ini adalah pre-experimental dengan one-shot case study design.  Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keterampilan mengelompokan pada kelompok tinggi 87,50% berkriteria sangat baik dan 12.50% baik; pada kelompok sedang 34,78% sangat baik dan 64,22% baik; pada kelompok rendah 14,29% sangat baik, 35,71% baik, dan 50% cukup.  Penguasaan konsep pada kelompok tinggi 75% berkriteria sangat baik dan 25% baik; pada kelompok sedang 26,68% sangat baik, 69,59% baik, dan 4,35% cukup; pada kelompok rendah 7,14% b sangat baik,35,72% baik dan 57,14% cukup.Kata kunci : kelompok kognitif, keterampilan mengelompokkan, penguasaan konsep, problem solving
