Abstract

The potential of coconut as one of economical agriculture commodities that can be processedinto products such as nata de coco and others. This survey study was conducted in Tembilahan,Indragiri Hilir District as an area which has the nata de coco agroindustry. This research wasconducted from May to August 2008. The results concluded that development strategies for natade coco indsutry are as follow: improve production planning capability, increase productioncapacity, improve the standard of product quality, enhance marketing campaigns through widerdistribution, diversify market segments and use institutions such as Aspari.

Abstract

The research was conducted in the village of Bukit harapan, District Kerinci Kanan, SiakRiau Province, aiming to find out the perception of farmers who have implemented theintegration of Cattle and Oil Palm (SISKA). The study lasted for 8 (eight) months,starting from March 2010. The study population was all farmers of the Joint AdvancedFarmers Group in the Village of Bukit harapan who have applied SISKA and feedprocessing technology. Sampling used census method of 7 members of the group.Sampling of non farmer groups of 15 people was carried out with the snowball method,which is an oil palm plantation farmers in the village of Bukit Harapan. Results showedperception of farmers of feed processing technology in the Joint Advanced FarmersGroup in the village of Bukit Harapan, District Kerinci Kanan, Siak Regency providesrelative advantages over the traditional way, with high fitness level, low level ofcomplexity (because the technology is simple), but somewhat difficult to start / appliedon a small scale, and easily observed in relatively quick time, through institutionalsupport for farmer groups in the formation of adequate venture capital and social capital.In general, the farmers perception of feed processing technology innovation is in goodcategory, so the technology worth to be disseminated to farmers by using groupapproach.

Abstract

This research analyzed the women income and economic efficiency of cassava chip  agroindustry in district of Kampar. Survey method used for this research was purposive sampling. Primary data was collected from 22 respondents, while secondary data was obtained from related agencies, both consisted of qualitative and quantitative data. The cassava chip agroindustry  has diversified its products. The average earning of respondents was Rp. 1.093.768,45 per month. Based on this matters, this business is efficient and competent to be developed. Key words: agroindustry, cassava chip, efficiency

Abstract

This research is aimed to analyze the marketing of coconut sugar based on the structure,conduct and performance of the market. This research is carried out in Indragiri HilirRegency by using survey method over the number of 32 samples. The samples are takenbay snowball sampling start with the sugar makers. The results of this research show thatmarket structure is likely to be monopsony, where trader middle man traders are moredominant while sugar makers are price taker. There are three marketing channels in thisresearch area. From market performance criteria it shows that the first channel is moreprofitable since the costs are much lower and more efficient compare to channel 2 and 3.Keywords: structure, coconut sugar, performance, margin.

Abstract

Keberhasilan usahatani tidak hanya ditentukan oleh kehandalan teknologi dan dukungansumberdaya alam, tetapi juga oleh karakteristik petani. Salah satu tindakan perawatantanaman yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan dan produktivitas tanaman adalah pemupukanyang bertujuan untuk menambah ketersediaan unsur hara sehingga dapat meningkatkanproduktivitas tanaman. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: karakteristik internaldan eksternal petani kelapa sawit rakyat; dan tingkat pengetahuan petani tentang pupuk.Kegiatan penelitian dilakukan di Kecamatan Tanah Putih, Kabupaten Rokan Hilir ProvinsiRiau, ditentukan secara purposive, dengan pertimbangan daerah ini memperoleh programkebun K2i. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan karakteristik internal petani yang tidak pernahmendapatkan informasi tentang pupuk kompos dan tidak memiliki pengetahuan tentangpupuk kompos serta tidak adanya pihak yang memberikan penyuluhan terhadap aktivitasusahatani. Karakteritik eksternal petani dari intensitas dan ketepatan saluran penyuluhantidak terpenuhi karena tidak adanya penyuluh, sehingga sumber informasi sangat terbatas,keterjangkauan harga sarana produksi, dan ketersediaan sarana produksi yang rendahkarena rendahnya kemampuan ekonomi petani. Tingkat pengetahuan petani tentang pupukorganik dan an organik termasuk kategori sangat rendah.Kata Kunci: karakteristik petani, kelapa sawit rakyat, pengetahuan, pupuk

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of individual variables, organizational variables and psychology variables working for farmers. The author took hypothesized that individual, organizational and psychology variables simultaneously or partially have a positive and significant effect on the behavior of farmers in sub Maharatu. The research method is used descriptive an quantitative methods of statistical analysis using linier regression. The data used primary and secondary. Researchers used 70 vegetables farmers in the sample. The study’s results shows that the individual, organizational and psychology variables simultaneously and partially have a slight positive and significant influence on the behavior of vegetable growers working in Maharatu Village, Marpoyan Damai Subdistrict, Pekanbaru City. Of the coefficient of determination is known that the contribution of the influence of individual, organizational and psychology variables of the work to 58,2 % while the remaining 41,7 % is influenced by other variables not included in this models.   Keywords : Individual, organizational, psychology, working behavior

Abstract

Gapoktan Tani Jaya that located in the Pandau Jaya Village of Kampar District is one of the beneficiaries of Rural Agribusiness Development ( PUAP ) which has been running for 5 years . Until now , there has been no discourse to improve PUAP institutions into MFI - A. An MFI - A should have social performance in its outreach and financial performance with good level financial position (Arsyad, 2008). Based on the explanation , aim of this research are: to analyze the social performance, analyzing the financial performance of institutions and policy implications the results of the analysis of social performance and financial performance of the institution. The data used are secondary data derived from the financial statements and progress reports of institution membership in 2009 until 2012 and the primary data is interviews to PPL and agency managers. Outreach of institutional customers is fluctuated because there are non-active members at a later stage. Staff outreach is considered good because it can meet all the needs of members. Loan outreach also fluctuate because there are non-active members and the existence of arrears in 2011 and 2012. Savings range is considered good because a lot of members who do voluntary savings each year. Sales of fertilizer also has a positive effect on the development of the institutions revenues. Liquidity and solvency ratio has decreased every year but the value of the ratio is still in a liquid state and solvable. Profitability and activity ratio is considered good although profits are quite small but positive effect on institutions and organizations are also able to streamline the activities of financial resources. The policy implications of the institutions should increase the number of active borrowers and reduce operational costs , and increase profits from the activity of the institution. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to knowing the marketing channel of pineapple chips, to analyze marketing efficiency of pineapple chips, to analyze marketing mix of  pineapple chips and to identify aspects of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and formulate strategies that can be applied in development agroindustry pineapple chips. The analityc method used in this research is survey method with sample 12 craftsmen. The reseach result shows there are two marketing channels pineapple chips are directly and indirectly. Marketing efficiency at direct and indirect marketing channel there is the same in the plastic 250gr packaging. Product strategies with respect to product attributes, branding, gift packaging, labeling and product support services. Pricing strategies based on cost and competition. Distribution strategies are directly to consumers, through retailers and wholesalers. Promotion strategies are personal selling, sales promotion and direct marketing. Pineapple chips marketing strategy are participation in training in order to development business, increase production, cooperation with the government to finding alternative problems solutions and utilizing media promotion. Analysis of Pineapple Chips Agroindustry in Kualu Nenas Village Kampar District

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the production cost, efficiency level and marketing process of pineapple chips business, and to analyze the institutionl support of pienapple chips agroindustry. The study was conducted by survey method from 12 pineapple chips entrepreneurs, chosen by census sampling method in Kuala nenas village in 2012. Data were analyzed by descriptive method. The growing number of pineapple chips enterprenur was followed by the increasing number of machine owned by the enterpreneur, ranging from 1-4 unit facum frying machine for each enterpreneur. The average production cost of pineapple chips produced by 4 times production process scheme/ day are Rp.15.514.749 for 1 machine, Rp. 34.199.267 for 2 machine, and Rp. 62.515.120 for 3 machine. The average production cost of pineaplle chips, produced by 3 times production scheme/ day with 4 unit machine is Rp. 57.478.340. The efficiency levels ranging between 1,27 (the average efficiency of 1 unit machine) up to 1,78 (the average efficiency of 4 unit machine). While the value added obtained per unit machine is abour 9 million rupiah or 38.000/kg. Some of the products (60%) were marketed through broker or wholesaler, the others (40%) were directly sold to the consument using their own brands. In the accessibility of the enterprenurs to financial institution, the enterprenuers were able to obtained the capital assistance from BMUN, micro economic and banking institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze social and financial performance of microfinance institutions UED-SP Sinar Dana. Social performance analyzed using Microfinance Information exchange (MIX) soscial performance standard report, and financial performance analyzed using 17 PEARLS ratio. Analysis of the UED-SP social peformance has reached the social mission and goals the cumulative volume of loans 25.10 percent, and the higher growth of loans volume is the agricultural sector 32.25 percent. The poor borrowers 23.33 percent and volume of loans increased 55.82 percent. Internal systems increased on a variety of loan products and increased incentives for staff. The output and outcome UED-SP was increasing in average annual, outreach of the women borrowers, the borrower of productive economic in the agricultural sector, poor borrowers, and the volume of saving. The financial performance of UED-SP obtained that the purpose of the protection is not achieved because it does not have a provision for loan losses on loans greater than 12 months delinquent. Effective financial structure is obtained the net loans highger than range limit of ideal accivement, ratio of members share capital in ideal, the ratio of capital institutions in ideal. Asset quality in non perfoaming loan and ratio of non-earning assets are in the ideal. Revenue and expenses earned operating costs and the ratio of net income are ideal. The ratio of income from loans and the current asset liquidity ratio are ideal. UED-SP showed signs of growth with the asset growth, loan growth, and savings deposit growth in not ideal ratio.
