Abstract

Abstract: RPP, Achieving Competence, Nursing Care of the Soul. This study is a Class Action Research (Classroom Action Rersearch), a study conducted by a teacher / lecturer in the class itself through self-reflection, in order to improve their performance, so as to increase student learning outcomes. The results showed that the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP) Mental Nursing faculty provide guidance in implementing the learning process. Researchers found that it takes several fixtures in fulfilling the good planning among others prepare tool corresponding evaluation, makes lattice-lattice, as well as the prepare a teaching materials a better as a guideline of learning. Small group discussion method of learning is one method that can enhance the ability of students achieving basic competency describes the concept of mental nursing and enhance the activity of nursing students in the learning of the Soul. Role play teaching method is one method that can enhance the ability of students achieving basic competency in carrying out assessment of mental patients and increase the activity of nursing students in the learning of the Soul.Abstrak: RPP, Pencapaian Kompetensi, Asuhan Keperawatan Jiwa. Penelitian ini merupakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (Classroom Action Rersearch) yaitu suatu penelitian yang dilakukan oleh seorang guru / dosen di dalam kelasnya sendiri melalui refleksi diri, dengan tujuan untuk memperbaiki kinerjanya, sehinggga hasil belajar mahasiswa menjadi meningkat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) Keperawatan Jiwa memberikan petunjuk dosen dalam melaksanakan proses pembelajaran. Peneliti menemukan bahwa diperlukan beberapa perlengkapan dalam memenuhi perencanaan yang baik antara lain mempersiapkan alat evaluasi yang sesuai, membuat kisi-kisi, serta menyiapkan materi ajar yang lebih baik sebagai pedoman pembelajaran. Metode pembelajaran diskusi kelompok kecil merupakan salah satu metode yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa mencapai kompetensi dasar menjelaskan konsep keperawatan jiwa dan meningkatkan keaktifan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran keperawatan Jiwa. Metode pembelajaran role play merupakan salah satu metode yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mahasiswa mencapai kompetensi dasar melaksanakan pengkajian pada pasien gangguan jiwa dan meningkatkan keaktifan mahasiswa dalam pembelajaran keperawatan Jiwa.

UTILIZATION OF MULTIMEDIA TO IMPROVE PIT FISSURE SEALANT PRACTICAL SKILL AMONG STUDENTS IN DENTAL NURSING, YOGYAKARTA, INDONESIA

Abstract

Background: With an increasing demand of high quality of health services, challenges are addressed to all health providers to improve their skills in providing services to clients. Given that preventive dentistry clinical practice has not been satisfying, providing media as students’ guidelines is necessary.Objective: The study aims to explain the influence of multimedia use in order to improve Pit Fissure Sealant (PFS) practical skills of dental nursing students.Methods: It was a quasi-experimental study with pretest and post-test control group design. Population of the study was selected from dental nursing students in Yogyakarta. A hundred sample was drawn purposively from the population and distributed equally to two groups. The first group was exposed by PFS practice video whilst the second group as control was exposed only by the guidebook.Results: Initially, students in the control group have better PFS practical score compared to their counterpart in the treatment group. Nevertheless, after the exposure of different media, students in the treatment group demonstrated a better post-test score on their PFS practical skills. The statistical analysis certifies that there was a significant difference in the mean score of PFS practical skills of the students before and after the treatment.Conclusion: Video as a new media is able to improve the students’ motivation in learning than any traditional media such as books. It should be noted however, both printed media (guidebooks) and video only provides one way communication. Therefore, designing an interactive media using video where the user can be the sender not only the receiver, can be considered for further research.
