Abstract

Brachionus plicatilis is a widely used as natural feed in hatchery. Characteristics of rotifers as biocapsule can improve the quality of rotifers in a practical way. Bacillus sp. is capable of improving the nutrition rotifers to produce vitamins, food detoxication or through enzymatic activity such as protease, lipase, and amylase. This research aimed at observing the influence of the enrichment length of Bacillus sp. on the quality of nutrition and growth of rotifers. The research container was a polyearbonate vessel of one ton volume which contained Nannochloropsis sp. with the density of 105 cell/mL, it was then scattered with rotifer with the density of 1,000 ind./mL. The types of bacteria used were Bacillus subtilis, B. pumilus and B. licheformis with the density of 2x1010 cfu/g. The experiments tried with different enrichment length were A = 0 hour, B = 5 hours, C = 10 hours and D = 10 hours with triplicate. As the comparing data, rotifer culture experiment was carried out with Nannochlorophsis sp.as the control. The number of containers were 24 which consists of 12 for threatment and 12 pieces as control. Variables measured were proximate to each treatment and the growth of rotifers. Abstract

Increasing aquaculture production is one of the national program one Koi Fish Cyprinus carpio. Koi fish is a freshwater fish that has a high economic value due to have a wide variety of colour patterns beautiful body shape. Intensive farming methods developed at this time and the quality of the environment of diminishing give many implications to the emergence of stress levels in the cultivation of organisms, resulting in a low growth rate, which is not optimal pigmentation process and the quality of health of the fish declined. The skin of the mangosteen fruit contains tannins, saponins, flavonida, pectic substance, and iron. This study aimed to obtain information about the status of physiological stimulation immunostimulant Koi carp C. Carpio and evaluate dose Mangosteen peel flour in feed optimal to support growth Koi carp C. Carpio. Containers of research in the form of a jar size 15 L. Pets test form Koi fish. Test parameters such as the measurement of body weight, hematocrit index and survival rate. The results showed that the treatment of various concentrations of mangosteen peel flour in feed giving different values to growth, hematocrit index and survival rate Koi carp fish.

Abstract

Ekstrak kulit manggis Garcinia mangostana memiliki kempuan sebagai antibakteri, antifungi, antiinflamasi, antileukemia, antiagregasi, antimikrobakteri dan antioksidan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengtahui efektifitas ekstrak kulit manggis dalam menghambat bakteri Vibrio harveyii. Penelitian dilakukan sebanyak tiga tahapan kerja kerja yaitu tahap preparasi sampel, tahap mengekstrasi zat antioksidan dan tahap pengujian antioksidan atau antibakteri yang dilakukan secara in-vitro. Sebagai data pembanding dilakukan pengujian dengan melakukan pengujian uji hambat dengan menggunakan larutan fisiologis (control negative) dan antibotik Erytromycyn (control positif). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan zona hambat ekstrak kulit manggis terhadap bakteri Vibrio harveyii sebesar 76 mm, menunjukkan kategori aktivitas penghambatan sangat kuat. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak kulit manggis dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu solusi penanggulangan penyakit vibriosis.Kata kunci: Manggis, Zona Hambat, VibrioGarcinia mangostana mangosteen peel extract has ABILITY as antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antileukemia, antiagregasi, anti micro bacteria and antioxidants. This study aims to mengtahui effectiveness of mangosteen peel extract to inhibit the bacterium Vibrio harveyii. The study was conducted as many as three working stages: stage work sample preparation, extracting phase oxidant and antioxidant or antibacterial testing phase conducted in-vitro. As the comparative data was examined by testing the inhibitory test using physiological solution (negative control) and antibotik Erytromycyn (positive control). The results showed inhibition zone mangosteen peel extract against bacteria Vibrio harveyii by 76 mm, showing a very strong inhibitory activity category. This indicates that the mangosteen peel extract can be used as one of the solutions vibriosis disease prevention.Keywords: Manggis, Zone of Inhibition, Vibrio

Abstract

Rotifer Branchionus plicatilis hingga saat ini masih merupakan pakan alami utama dalam pembenihan ikan – ikan laut dan belum dapat tergantikan sepenuhnya oleh pakan buatan. Karakteristik rotifer sebagai biocapsule dapat meningkatkan kualitas rotifer secara praktis. Bacillus sp. mampu memperbaiki nutrisi rotifer proses pengoptimalan penyerapan nutrisi dan memproduksi asam lemak essensial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh pengkayaan Bacillus sp. terhadap kualitas asam lemak rotifer. Wadah penelitian menggunakan bak fiber volume 1 ton yang berisikan Nannochloropsis sp. dengan kepadatan 105 cell/mL, kemudian ditebari rotifer dengan kepadatan 1.000 ind./mL. Jenis bakteri yang digunakan berupa Bacillus subtilis, B. Pumilus dan B. Licheformis dengan kepadatan 2 x 1010 cfu/g. Perlakuan yang diujikan adalah lama pengkayaan probiotik Bacillus sp. yang berbeda, yaitu perlakuan A (0 jam), perlakuan B (5 Jam), perlakuan C (10 jam) dan perlakuan D (15 jam). Sebagai data pembanding dilakukan percobaan kultur rotifer dengan Nannochloropsis sp. sebagai kontrol. Jumlah wadah penelitian yang dipergunakan sebanyak 24 buah yang terdiri atas 12 buah untuk perlakuan dan 12 buah sebagai kontrol. Peubah yang diukur berupa kandungan asam lemak pada masing-masing perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan lama pengkayaan dengan Bacillus sp. berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap peningkatan kandungan nutrisi asam lemak rotifer. Pengkayaan optimal diperoleh pada 5 – 10 jam.Kata Kunci: Rotifer, bacillus, periode pengkayaan, asam lemak

Abstract

Kepiting Bakau Scylla olivacea merupakan salah satu komoditas perikanan yang memiliki nilai ekonomis yang sangat tinggi. Kendala yang dihadapi dalam kegiatan perbenihan kepiting bakau adalah masih tingginya tingkat mortalitas. Tujuan penelitan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh hormon ecdyson terhadap sintasan dan periode moulting pada larva kepiting bakau Scylla olivacea. Penelitian dilakukan di Unit Stasiun Pembenihan Kepiting Maranak Balai Riset Perikanan Budidaya Air Payau dan Penyuluhan Perikanan (BRPBAP3) Maros, Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan. Hewan uji berupa larva kepiting bakau Scylla spp. stadia zoea. Pakan uji dalam penelitian berupa rotifer dan Artemia yang dilakukan pengkayaan dengan hormon ecdyson. Wadah penelitian berupa akuarium 110 L berjumlah 12 buah yang diisi dengan air sebanyak 100 L, air bersalinitas 28-30 ppt dengan kepadatan larva sebanyak 50 ekor/L. Perlakuan yang diuji adalah berbagai dosis hormon ecdyson dalam pakan, yakni A= 0 mg/L; B= 0,5 mg/L; C= 1 mg/L; dan D= 1,5 mg/L; dengan tiga kali ulangan. Parameter yang diukur adalah sintasan dan periode moulting. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan dosis hormon ecdyson memberikan pengaruh yang baik terhadap sintasan dan periode moulting larva kepiting bakau.Mud crab, Scylla olivacea is one of highly valued and sought-after fishery commodities. Despite its high economic value, mud crab culture still faces a problem in producing high-quality seed which is high mortality rate post-spawning. The study aim was to evaluate the effect of the Ecdyson hormone on the survival rate and molting period of the mud crab larvae. The study was conducted at the Maranak Crab Seedling, BRPBAP3 Maros, South Sulawesi Province. The trial used mud crabs larvae that were in zoea stage. The trial feed was given in the form of Rotifer and Artemia enriched with the Ecdyson hormone. Twelve 110-liter aquaria were filled with 100 L of 28-30 ppt of seawater. The stocking density of mud crab seed was 50 larvae/L. The treatments consisted different doses of Ecdyson hormone in the feed, i.e. A= 0 mg/L, B= 0.5 mg/L, C= 1 mg/L, and D= 1.5 mg/L, with three replications for each treatment. The parameters measured were survival rate and molting period. The results showed that the treatment of Ecdyson hormone doses gave a good effect on the survival rate and molting period of mud crab larvae.

Abstract

This study aims to t analyze the influence of the provision of extract the rind Mangosteen of xantone on increased response immun of Tilapia fish. The study is done in vitro and in vivo, The research using random design complete (RAL) with the observation parameters of phagocytosis test activity and survival rate. This research intended to evaluate the response immun non-spesifik on Tilapia (O. niloticus) extracted  from mangosteen peel. The results of the analysis variety of ANOVA shows that nila fish given extract xanthones, had have real impact on survival nila fish (P<0,05).  Test results said W-tukey shows that survival highest nila fish is in the provision of xanthones 2,10 ppm / the tail (Treatment C) and are no different by the provision of xanthones by 2.15 ppm / the tail (Treatment D) but different to the provision of xanthones 2.5 ppm/the tail (Treatment B) and control (Treatment  A). The results of the analysis variety of ANOVA shows that activity of phagocytosis also had have real impact (P< 0.05) between any treatment, test results said W-tukey treatment control different to treatment B, C and  D but also between treatment B and treatment D not different.
