Abstract

Well germination process of rain tree seeds will rised the percentation, capacity, and rate of germination. Nevertheless, there are still some obstacles on the germination process due to it dormancy period. Water is one of medium which could be used to break the dormancy period. This research was conducted at Lampung University green house on March 2012. The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of water submerged time to rain tree germination. This research was arrange on Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatment and 4 repeatization. The treatments was the submerging time which was 24, 48 and 72 hours. Test of the similarity range were done by Bartlett test while the analysis by analysis of variance, furthermore the comparison of average values were done by the different test (BNJ) with a 5% confidence interval. The results of this research showed that the effect of submerged time of seed rain tree.  The effect of submerged time of seed rain tree for 72 hours was the best percentation of germination and germination of seed rain tree at 68,75% and 80,25%.  The submerged time did not effect to rate of germination seed rain tree.

Abstract

Dormancy of sugar palm seed (Arenga pinnata) was caused of hard seed coat structure, making its difficult to absorb water during of germinating. Dormancy in seed can be resolved by giving of treatmeant physically, mechanically, or chemically. This research aimed to determine the effect of physical treatment and chemical treatment on the germination of sugar palm seeds and determine which affect gibberellin concentration most favorable to the germination of sugar palm seeds. In this research, dormancy in seed be resolved in chemically that way with soaking of water with temperature early 75 0 C let to be chilled during 15 minute, and then soaking in condensation of giberelin with concentration of giberellins is 0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm, and 200 ppm for 24 hours.  The method used in this research is Complete Random Design (CRD) which consisting of five treatments and four replications. The results showed that the treatment accorded significant effect on germination percentage, germination, and the average days to germinate. Addition of soaking in a solution of 150 ppm giberellin for 24 hours gives the best effect with an average germination percentage by 65%, compared with addition of soaking in giberellin solution of 0 ppm, 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm giberellins for 24 hours with an average germination percentage by 15%, 34,5%, 53,125%, and 26,875%.

Abstract

Forests are a source of various types of medicinal plants. Plants that live wildly in forest areas are also included in the Forest Park area, Wan Abdul Rachman. Type identification is the first step for the use and preservation of these medicinal plants. Therefore a study was conducted which aims to determine the types, density of each population and the degree of dominance of each population of medicinal plants. This research was carried out in the farmer's group cultivated area of Kelompok Pengelola dan Pelestari Hutan (KPPH) Talang Mulya Tahura Wan Abdul Rachman. This research was conducted using a double plot method. The number of sample plots is 87 plots, each measuring 2m x 2m. The variables observed included plant species, the density of each population and the degree of dominance of each population of medicinal plants. The results of this study were identified 29 types of medicinal plants belonging to 18 plant families. The majority of medicinal plants are dominated by awar-awar, while the lowest is the curcuma and pepper. There are quite a lot of medicinal plants in the area cultivated by KPPH Talang Mulya farmers, but there are medicinal plants which are threatened by populations such as temulawak, allegedly because they are used by the community without cultivation.Keyword: forest, forest park, medical plants.

Abstract

Liana is one type of plant that becomes typical characteristic of a tropical rain forest ecosystem and its presence adds to the diversity of plant species in the forest ecosystem.  The purposes of the study were to identify the species of liana, species of cantilever plant, and to know the number of liana species associated with the species of cantilever plant in the protection block of Wan Abdul Rachman Great Forest Park, especially in the area of Way Balau Sub watershed.  The research was conducted on September to Oktober 2013.  The sampling method was used line terraced layer.  The size of each sample plot was 20 m x 20 m with sub plots 10 m x 10 m, 5 m x 5 m, 2 m x 2 m.  Liana and cantilever plants species were inventoried by 0.2% sampling intensity from 796.50 ha.  Observed variables were the species and the number of lianas, spesies of cantilever plant and its number.  The result of research were identified 8 species of liana and 35 spesies of cantilever plants.  Liana density was 1.599 individual/ha and cantilever plant density was 1.594 individual/ha, and it had a good enough distribution because there was no dominant species. The plant that most liked by liana is dadap (Erythrina lithosperma) and liana that mostly found is rayutan (Paederia tomentosa). Keyword:  cantilever plant, liana, Protection Block of Wan Abdul Rachman GreatForest Park

PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA KARTU KUARTET TERHADAP MOTIVASI DAN HASIL BELAJAR SISWA

Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the influence of quartet card media on student motivation and study result. The design was pretest-posttest non equivalent group by purposive sampling, class X7 dan X8 were choosen as subject. The quantitative data of study result was analyzed by t test and U test. The qualitative data were student motivation, study activities  and student response questionnaire that analyzed descriptively. Average value of posttest was 66,80. The result showed that using of quartet card media can motivated student and made student learn enthusiasticly. The study result were increased on cognitive indicator with N-gain average on C1 indicator (10,55) and  C2 (1,45). Student learn activity had good criteria (82,50) and student felt pleased with learning process from student questionnaire. The conclusion of this researh were using quartet card media can motivated student learning but unsignificantly influence on study result.                                                                                                     Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media kartu kuartet terhadap motivasi dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah pretes-posttes kelompok non ekuivalen dengan purposive sampling, kelas X7 dan X8 diambil sebagai subjek. Data kuantitatif berupa hasil belajar siswa dianalisis dengan uji t dan uji U. Data kualitatif berupa motivasi siswa, aktivitas belajar dan tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Rata-rata postes 66,80. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media kartu kuartet dapat memotivasi siswa dan membuat siswa antusias dalam pembelajaran. Peningkatan hasil belajar oleh siswa juga terjadi pada indikator kognitif dengan rata-rata N-gain pada indikator C1 (10,55)  dan C2 (1,45). Aktivitas belajar siswa memiliki kriteria baik (82,50) dan siswa merasa senang terhadap pembelajaran dari data angket tanggapan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa penggunaan media kartu kuartet dapat memotivasi belajar siswa tetapi tidak berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar. Kata kunci : hasil belajar siswa, media kartu kuartet, motivasi

Abstract

The objective of this research was to know the use of applicating cooperative learning model think pair share (TPS) toword students activity and students learning result. The research designs were non equivalent pretest – posttest. The research sample were students in X1 and X2 class that was selected by purposive sampling technique. Data of the research were qualitative and quantitative. The qualitative data was gotten by students learning activity and questionnaire that was analyzed descriptively. The quantitative data were the average score of test, that was analyzed by t-test and U-test. The result showed that the students learning activity improve with an average of  79.33 which is in good criteria. The students learning outcomes also develop, with N-gain average score was 40.17. Thus, it can be concluded that the used of TPS model increase with of students learning activity and students learning result in contamination and preservation of environment material.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan model pembelajaran TPS terhadap aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa. Desain penelitian adalah pretes postes tak ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas X1 dan X2 yang dipilih secara  purposive  sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data kualitatif berupa aktivitas belajar siswa dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-t dan uji-U. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan aktivitas belajar siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata berkriteria baik 79,33. Hasil belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan, dengan rata-rata nilai N-gain 40,17. Dengan demikian, pembelajaran menggunakan model TPS berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan aktivitas dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi pencemaran dan pelestarian lingkungan.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar siswa, hasil belajar siswa, think pair share

PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN MEDIA KARTU KUARTET TERHADAP AKTIVITAS DAN PENGUASAAN MATERI OLEH SISWA

Abstract

This research purpose was to know the influence of quarted card as learning media to improve learning activity and subject matter understanding. The design of research was pretest-postest non equivalen. The sample of the research were students class X7 and class X8 that choosen by purposive sampling. Qualitative data of learning activities and student questionnaire responses analyzed using descriptive. Quantitative data was obtained from pretest, posttest and gain that analyzed using U-test.The result of research indicated that quarted card as learning media can improve learning activity with the average of all aspects (or ideas expressed; work together; asking questions and opinions; revealed the results of discussions) good criteria (85,48). Gain of subject matter understanding of experiment class (gain 1,00) was higher than control class (gain 0,82). Otherwise the use of quarted card as media gave influence not significantly toward C2 and C4 indicator. Thus, media quarted as learning media can improved student activity and subject matter understanding.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh media kartu kuartet sebagai media belajar untuk meningkatkan aktivitas dan penguasaan materi. Desain penelitian adalah pretest-postestnon equivalen. Sampel pada penelitian adalah siswa kelas X7 dan X8 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data kualitatif berupa data aktivitas belajar siswa dianalisis secara deskriptif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari nilai pretes, postes dan gain dianalisis dengan uji t atau uji U. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kartu kuartet sebagai media belajar dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dengan rata-rata semua aspek (mengemukakan ide atau gagasan; bekerja sama; mengajukan pertanyaan dan pendapat; mengemukakan hasil diskusi) berkreteria baik (85,48%). Penguasaan materi pada kelas eksperimen (gain 1,00) lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol (gain 0,82). Namun penggunaan media kartu kuartet berpengaruh tidak signifikan terhadap indikator C2 dan C4. Dengan demikian, kartu kuartet sebagai media belajar mampu meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan materi siswa.Kata kunci: aktivitas belajar, kartu kuartet, media belajar, penguasaan materi

Abstract

The aim of this study was to know the influence of using practical method with Jigsaw learning model to the student’s science process skill. This study was a quasi-experimental using pretest-posttest equivalent group design. Samples were VIIA and VIIG that chosen by cluster random sampling. This research data consisted of quantitative and qualitative data. Quantitative data obtained from the average value of test were analyzed by using U-test. Qualitative data obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and student feedback questionnaires were analyzed descriptively. The results showed the student’s science process skill was improve with average N-gain 63,05. The student’s learning activities was also improve with average 88.02. Thus, it could be concluded that using practical method with Jigsaw learning model was influenced significant to improve the student’s science process skills and the student’s learning activities in the characteristics of living creatures subject matter.Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Penelitian ini merupakan eksperimental semu dengan desain pretes-postes kelompok ekuivalen. Sampel penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIG yang dipilih secara cluster random sampling. Data penelitian terdiri dari data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuantitatif diperoleh dari rata-rata nilai tes yang dianalisis menggunakan uji-U. Data kualitatif diperoleh dari lembar observasi aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan keterampilan proses sains siswa mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata N-gain 63,05. Aktivitas belajar siswa juga mengalami peningkatan dengan rata-rata 88.02. Dengan demikian, penggunaan metode praktikum dengan model pembelajaran Jigsaw berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains dan aktivitas belajar siswa pada materi pokok ciri-ciri makhluk hidup.Kata kunci : aktivitas belajar, keterampilan proses sains, metode praktikum, model pembelajaran jigsaw

Abstract

The aims of this study was to know the influence of using practical method with NHT model to the student’s science process skill. This study was a quasi-experimental using pretest-posttest equivalent group design. The samples were VIIE and VIIF class that chosen by purposive sampling. The research data consist of quantitative and qualitative. The quantitative data obtained from the average value of test which analyzed by using t-test and U-test, while the qualitative data obtained from the observation sheet of learning activities and questionnaire responses of student which analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the student’s science process skill was improve with average N-gain 44,07. The student’s learning activities was improve with average 80,99. Thus, it could be concluded that using practical method with NHT model was influnced to improve the student’s science process skills and the student’s learning activities.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan metode praktikum dengan model NHT terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Abstract

 Student involvement is one of the important factors in improving learning outcomes. Experimental method requires students to be more active in learning activities. Therefore, this study used an experimental method of inquiry and experimental verification. This study was aimed to compare of inquiry experiment method and verification of student learning outcome of cognitive and psychomotor. Design of this study was pretest-posttest non equivalent group. Samples were VIIA and VIID, chosen by purposive sampling. The data of research consist of quantitative data are student’s learning outcomes of cognitive aspect were analyzed using U-test and psychomotor aspect were analyzed by manner descriptive. Research results indicate using inquiry experiment method (N-gain 55.81) higher and significan be diffirent than verification experiment method (N-gain 43.17). The psychomotor of student learning outcome in inquiry experiment class (73%) as high as with verification experiment class (70%).Keterlibatan siswa merupakan salah satu faktor penting dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar. Metode eksperimen menuntut siswa menjadi lebih aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen inkuiri dan eksperimen verifikasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui perbandingan metode eksperimen inkuiri dan verifikasi terhadap hasil belajar kognitif dan psikomotor. Desain penelitian pretest-posttest kelompok non-equivalen. Sampel penelitian siswa kelas VIIA dan VIID, dipilih secara purposive sampling. Data penelitian berupa data kuantitatif yaitu hasil belajar aspek kognitif siswa yang dianalisis menggunakan uji U dan hasil belajar aspek psikomotor yang dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan metode eksperimen inkuiri (N-gain 55.81) lebih tinggi dan berbeda signifikan dibandingkan eksperimen verifikasi (N-gain 43.17). Hasil belajar aspek psikomotor siswa pada kelas eksperimen inkuiri (73%) sama tinggi dengan kelas eksperimen verifikasi (70%).Kata kunci: eksperimen inkuiri, eksperimen verifikasi, hasil belajar
