Abstract

There is a slight different in the language use of baby parenting in Semarang Municipality and Kendal Regency.In this research the forms of baby parenting register in Semarang Municipality and Kendal Regency aredescribed and classified and the cultural background of the baby parenting register use in both second levelregions is outlined as well.The approach of the current study consists of two, namely theoretical and methodological approaches.Theoretically, the approach used in this research is the one of ethnolinguistics. In methodological terms,however, it is qualitative descriptive. The research data takes the form of all baby parenting registers inSemarang Municipality and Kendal Regency. The source of the research data is the utterance of mothersparenting their baby existing in both regions. The data collection is performed using conversation method with abasic technique in the form of captivate technique. Additionally, introspective method is also used. The data isanalyzed using qualitative method. The analyzed data is presented descriptively.From the obtained data, it is found that the baby parenting registers in Semarang Municipality and KendalRegency have quite varied forms. Those forms can be classified on the basis of (1) lingual unit, (2) lexiconsource, (3) need framing, and (4) actor.The cultural background of this baby parenting register use is the situational factor taking the form of thelocal social culture. This social culture can be seen in the form of the tradition developing in the baby parenting,since the age of 1 day, 7/9/11/13 days, selapan (35 days), until 1 year old developed in those two second levelregions.In addition, another issue supporting the formation of the baby parenting register is the difference in point ofview towards an event taken place around the language users in utterance event, between those in SemarangMunicipality and Kendal Regency.From the available conclusion, it is recommended for language researchers and followers of Copenhagenschool, i.e. a school of thought which, in addition to attempting to comprehend a language pattern, try tocomprehend any socio-cultural fields in general (in the context of the language) to perform research on registerin other fields. The policy makers in childhood education field are expected to be able to use it as supplementalinformation in making a policy concerning the early childhood education since seeing the lexicons related to thebaby parenting enables one to discover the working description of baby parenting.Keywords: register, baby parenting, and ethnolinguistics.

Abstract

Saat ini deiksis yang dikenal hanya meliputi deiksis orang, deiksis ruang, deiksis waktu, deiksis wacana, dan deiksis social. Sampai saat ini belum diadakan penelusuran terhadap deiksis numeral. Misalnya kata-kata tujuh lima yang dinyatakan sebagai harga itu maksudnya bias (a) Rp 7.500,00, (b) Rp 75.000,00, (c) Rp 750,00, (d) Rp 7,5 juta, (e) Rp 75 juta atau (f) Rp 750 juta tergantung  pada konteksnya, dalam hal ini sesustau yang diperjualbelikan, pelaksana jual beli, dan waktu transaksi. Dari hasil penelitian ditemukan wujud dan factor penyebab terbentuknya deiksis numeral dalam wacana jual beli. Dilihat dari jumlah bilangan pengacunya, deiksis numeral dapat  berwujud deiksis numeral satuan, deiksis numeral puluhan, dan deiksis numeral ratusan. Adapun berdasarkan jenis acuannya, deiksis numeral meliputi deiksis numeral harga dan deiksis numeral ukuran. Sementara itu, factor-faktor penyebab terbantuknya deiksis numeral adalah factor kejelasan kontsks (latar tuturan, tujuan tuturan, dan lain-lain), serta factor kesantunan. Up to present, we only know personal deixis, spatial  deixis, temporal deixis, discourse deixis,  and social deixis. There was no study on numerical deixis. For example, the expression of seventy-five as a  price could be interpreted as (a) Rp7.500, 00, (b) Rp75.000, 00, (c) Rp750.000,00, (d) Rp7.500,000,00, (e ) 75.000.000,00 , or (f) Rp750.000.000,00.  It depends on its context, such as goods, sellers, buyers, and  time of the transaction.  The research findings reveal the forms and the reasons for  forming the numeral deixis in the discourse of trading. From the number of  digits of reference, the numeral deixis can be in the form  of the numeral deixis of  unit, the numeral deixis of tens, and the numeral deixis of  hundreds. Based on kinds of the references,  the numeral deixis  include  the numeral  deixis of price and the numeral deixis of size. The clarity of the contexts determines the numeral deixis including background of the speakers, the receivers, the purposes, and more importanly, the politeness.

Abstract

Penulisan artikel ini ditujukan untuk menjelaskan makna warna-warna yang ada dalam jenang mancawarna ‘jenang banyak warna’. Jenang mancawarna atau yang juga dikenal dengan nama jenang pepak ‘jenang lengkap’ merupakan salah satu nama jenang dalam sesaji selamatan daur hidup masyarakat Jawa. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan etnolinguistik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode observasi dan wawancara terhadap informan yang berdomisili di Kabupaten Wonogiri, Jawa Tengah. Dari hasil penelitian dapat diketahui bahwa masyarakat Jawa memiliki pandangan mengenai multikulturalisme atau tergolong masyarakat yang multikulturalis karena empat warna dalam jenang tersebut memiliki makna semiotis antara lain bahwa seorang manusia hendaknya senantiasa menyadari dan menghargai perbedaan pemikiran para saudaranya yang berada di kiblat papat lima pancer ‘empat arah mata angin: timur, barat, utara, dan selatan’. This article seeks to explain the meanings of various colors of jenang mancawarna ‘multicolored jenang’. Jenang mancawarna is also known as jenang pepak ‘complete jenang’, a name of jenang in a celebration offerings of Javanese people. The research was conducted by using ethnolinguistics approach. The research was done through observation and interview in Wonogiri Regency, Central Java. The result of the research, Javanese people have unique views of multiculturalism as reflected in the four colours of Jenang. The colours have semiotic-meanings, that people ought to being aware and respect to different thinking of his connections who are bound in kiblat papat lima pancer ‘four directions: east, west, north, and south’.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan makna semiotis nama-nama makanan dalam sesaji selamatan mitoni atau tingkeban. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa leksikon nama-nama makanan sesaji selamatan tingkeban di Dukuh Pelem, Watangrejo, Pracimantoro, Wonogiri. Pengumpulan data penelitian dilakukan dengan metode simak (observasi) dan cakap (wawancara). Analisis data dengan metode etnosains dengan menerapkan teori segi tiga makna. Penyajian hasil analisis dengan metode deskriptif formal dan informal. Hasil penelitian sebagai berikut. Pertama, terdapat sembilan nama makanan dalam sesaji tingkeban, yaitu: tumpeng pitu, tumpeng bathok bolu, tumpeng playon, sega rogoh, sega gendhong, sega guyeng, jenang procot, jenang baro-baro, dan klapa gadhing. Nama-nama tersebut dapat diklasifikasi ke dalam empat kategori, yaitu tumpeng, sega, jenang, dan jajanan. Kedua, pada leksikon nama-nama makanan sesaji selamatan tingkeban tercermin pemikiran pelaku sesaji yang berisi pesan moral yang adiluhung, yaitu adanya harapan keselamatan dalam kehamilan yang telah mencapai usia tujuh bulan.Kata kunci: makna semiotis, nama makanan sesaji, selamatan tingkebanSEMIOTIC MEANINGS OF FOOD NAMES IN THE TINGKEBAN RITUAL IN DUKUH PELEM, WONOGIRI REGENCYAbstractThis study aims to describe the semiotic meanings of food names in the mitoni or tingkeban ritual. The research data are the lexicon of food names in the tingkeban ritual in Dukuh Pelem, Watangrejo, Pracimantoro, Wonogiri. The data were collected through observations and interviews. They were analyzed using the ethnoscience method by applying the theory on the triangle of meaning. The results of the analysis were presented by means of the formal and informal descriptive methods. The research findings are as follows. First, there are nine food names in the tingkeban ritual, i.e. tumpeng pitu, tumpeng bathok bolu, tumpeng playon, sega rogoh, sega gendhong, sega guyeng, jenang procot, jenang baro-baro, and klapa gadhing. The names can be classified into four categories, namely tumpeng, sega, jenang, and jajanan pasar. Second, the lexicon of the food names in the tingkeban ritual reflects the ritual participants’ cognition containing noble moral messages, namely the expectation of safety in the pregnancy that has reached the age of seven months.Keywords: semiotic meanings, ritual food names, tingkeban ritual

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan di SMK Negeri 8 Semarang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemahaman peserta didik terhadap pengetahuan memproduksi atau menulis teks anekdot, meningkatkan keterampilan peserta didik dalam proses pembelajaran memproduksi teks anekdot, dan mengubah perilaku yang mencakup sikap religius dan sikap sosial peserta didik menjadi lebih baik. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan model Role Playing “pelayanan publik”. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran Role Playing “pelayanan publik” dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan peserta didik dalam memproduksi atau menulis teks anekdot. Efektifitas penggunaan model pembelajaran Role Playing “pelayanan publik” ini diketahui dari peningkatan nilai rata-rata yang dicapai peserta didik dalam keterampilan memproduksi atau menulis teks anekdot. Nilai rata-rata kelas pada siklus I sebesar 2,95 dengan kategori baik berpredikat B. Pada siklus II mengalami peningkatan sebesar 0,32 atau 0,91% menjadi 3,27 dengan kategori baik berpredikat B+. Peningkatan tersebut juga diikuti perubahan sikap religius dan sikap sosial ke arah yang lebih baik selama proses pembelajaran. Respon peserta didik terhadap pembelajaran juga sangat baik.This research is a class action research conducted in SMKN 8 Semarang. This study aims to determine the students understanding of the knowledge in producing or writing text anecdotes, improve the skills of learners in the learning process of producing text anecdotes, and change learners’ behaviors that include religious attitudes and social attitudes to become better. This research was conducted by using a model of role playing "public service". The results of this study indicate that the learning model Role Playing "public service" can be used to improve the skills of students in producing or writing text anecdotes. Effective use of Role Playing "public service" learning models is known from the increase in the average value achieved by learners in producing or writing skills anecdotal text. The average value of the class on the first cycle of 2.95 with both predicated category B. In the second cycle increased by 0.32 or 0.91% to 3.27 with both predicated B+ category. This increase is also followed by changes in better religious attitudes and social attitudes during the learning process. Learners’ responses towards learning is also very good.

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan yang bertujuan untuk mengembangkan media video animasi untuk membelajarkan materi memproduksi teks laporan hasil observasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian Research and Development yang dilaksanakan dalam lima tahap, yaitu 1) potensi masalah, 2) pengumpulan data, 3) desain produk, 4) validasi desain, 5) revisi desain. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode wawancara, angket kebutuhan, dan angket validasi. Analisis data menggunakan teknik deskripsi kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yaitu guru dan siswa kelas X SMA dari SMA Negeri 1 Ungaran, SMA Negeri 5 Semarang, dan SMA Negeri 11 Semarang tahun ajaran 2015/2016. Uji validasi media ini dilakukan oleh dosen dan ahli sinematografi untuk mengetahui kelayakannya. Media video animasi untuk pembelajaran memproduksi teks laporan hasil observasi dinyatakan layak digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran teks laporan hasil observasi dengan rata-rata penilaian 83,3 atau kategori sangat baik. Kata kunci: memproduksi teks laporan hasil observasi dan media video animasi     ABSTRACT The aim of the study is to develop an short animated video as a material to produce report text on the result of observation. The study is used Research and Development as the design that carried out in five stages, namely 1) finding, 2) field testing, 3) developing product, 4) design validation, 5) product revising. Collecting data methods using interviews, questionnaires, and validation questionnaires. The data is being analyzed using qualitative description. The subject of research are Indonesian language teachers and students in Ungaran Senior High School 1, Semarang Senior High School 5, and Semarang Senior High School 11 academic year 2015/2016. Media validation test was conducted by lecturers and cinematography expert to determine eligibility of the animation. The Animation vidoes to produce report text based on observation instructional purpose has been declared fit for use as a medium of learning report text with a 83,3 scroing average or excellent category. Abstract

ABSTRAK Dalam keterampilan menyunting siswa diharapkan mampu memperbaiki kesalahan-kesalahan yang ada dalam teks sehingga teks tersebut benar-benar dapat dibaca. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk (1) mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran menyunting teks ulasan film dengan model pembelajaran think pair share, (2) mengetahui keefektifan pembelajaran menyunting teks ulasan film dengan model pembelajaran snowball throwing, (3) mengetahui perbedaan keefektifan pembelajaran menyunting teks ulasan film dengan model pembelajaran think pair share dan model pembelajaran snowball throwing pada siswa kelas XI SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain pretes dan postes pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan ekserimen 2. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI SMA. Sampel penelitian adalah kelas XI MIPA-3 (eksperimen 1) sebanyak 33 siswa dan kelas XI MIPA-5 (eksperimen 2) sebanyak 33 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai sikap spiritual dan sikap sosial kelas eksperimen 1 yang menerapkan model pembelajaran think pair share lebih efektif dalam nilai sikap dibandingkan kelas eksperimen 2 yang menerapkan model pembelajaran snowball throwing. Hasil analisis hipotesis (uji t) menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran think pair share efektif dari model pembelajaran snowball throwing pada pembelajaran menyunting teks ulasan film dengan perbrdaan rata-rata µ1>µ2 adalah 12.476>1.486, berarti pembelajaran kelas eksperimen 1 lebih efektif daripada kelas eksperimen 2. In editting, the students are expected be able to correct the errors in the text. Basically, editting has a function to help the writers to share their ideas with the readers. the objectives of this study are: (1)to find out the effectiveness of learning process of a review text using think pair share. (2)to find out the effectiveness of using snowball throwing. (3)to find out the differences in the effectiveness of editting the review text using think pair share and snowball throwing in eleventh grade of senior high school. The research design used was quasi-experimental with a pre-test and post-test were given to the first experimental class and the second experimental class. The subject of this study were the XI grade students of senior high school. According to this research, ho was denied and Ha was accepted. It indicates the students from the snowball throwing group and the students from the think pair share group had a different result, with the average differences µ1>µ2 was 12.476>1.486. it means that the learning process from the first experimental group is more effective than the second experimental group. By doing this research, hopefully the teachers can be more creative and innovative in developing learning process in the class.
