Abstract

This study aims to obtain empirical evidence about the effect of the Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Financing (NPF), Operational Efficiency Ratio (OER) and the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) to the Return On Assets (ROA) and to determine the variable that give the dominant influence on the profitability of Islamic banks. The populations used in this study were all Islamic Banks operating in Indonesia. Purposive sampling was used a sampling method, obtaining three Islamic Banks. Secondary data was used as a form of financial statements quarterly publicized; starting from the first quarter of 2009 to the third quarter of 2012. The data analyses employed the use of multiple linear regression approach. The results of this study indicate that the variable Operational Efficiency Ratio (OER) has a significant influence on the Return on Assets (ROA) with a significance level of 0,000. While, the variable Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Financing (NPF) and the Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) did not significantly affect to the Return on Assets (ROA) with a significance level of each variable of 0,641 (CAR), 0,166 (NPF) and 0,440 (FDR). Variable that affect dominantly to the Return on Assets (ROA) is the Operational Efficiency Ratio (OER) with a beta value of 0,563.   Keywords: Financial Ratios, Financial Performance

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to improve the competence of students through application of integrated learning model with student recap on social studies in First Muhammadiyah Junior High School of Surakarta. This research is a class action research. The subject of this study was social studies teacher of First Muhammadiyah Junior High School of Surakarta and students of class 9A. Data collection techniques in the study were: observation, questionnaires and tests. Analysis technique used is the comparative analysis technique, quantitative and qualitative analysis techniques. The research was carried out for 2 cycles. Implementation of IPS learning based integrated learning alongside student learning recap conducted for two cycles. The first indicator in this study is the implementation of IPS learning based on integrated learning seen in cycle II. In the cycle II, IPS teachers are able to apply learning based integrated learning by choosing the theme “towards globalization”. This theme can be used to explain the basic economic competence, sociology and geography by selecting the indicator from each basic competency that are potentially able to be integrated into the theme of “towards globalization”. Unlike the cycle I, the teacher carry out learning IPS with the theme of World War II was too broad. An explanation of the World War II that associated with sociology and geography matter less focused. Students are required to master the material and historical facts that a lot with in relatively short time. Based on the student records or the student recap that collected in groups, students are very creative as well as in cycle I. On the cycle I and cycle II, the student can demonstrate the relationship of matter in terms of history, geography and sociology. Student involvement in classroom discussions is active, as well as student involvement at the presentation. Student involvement at presentation appears to be evenly distributed, that discussion is not dominated by a particular student. The teacher efforts for an interactive discussion are by pointing out those clever students at random, each group must provide a response or argument. Teachers do this in order to train students to express his opinions. The level of student satisfaction on learning social studies in the cycle II showed that 33 students (82,50%) gave a high response, 7 students (17,50%) gave medium respond. No student who gave a low response. Based on the results of the evaluation related to the theme of globalization in the cycle II known that students who scored above 70 were 37 students (92,5%) and 3 students (7,5%) scored below 70 but above the KKM. In the cycle II, all of students of class 9A have achieved complete study.

Abstract

The aims of this research are to identify: (1) the Politieke Inlichtingen Dienst history in Hindia-Belanda; (2) the role of Politieke Inlichtingen Dienst in taking care of political stability of Hindia-Belanda government; (3) the forming impact of Politieke Inlichtingen Dienst to the national movement in Hindia-Belanda.This study employed a historical history. The procedure of historical method included heuristic, critical, interpretation, and historiography. Technique of collecting data used was library study. The data source employed in this research was written source. In line with its type, the technique of analyzing data used in this research was historical analysis one.Based on the result of the research, it can be concluded that: (1) Forming of PID was influenced by two factors, there are intern dan ekstern factor. On May 6th, 1916, PID was formed by former Common Captain Staff of KNIL, W. Muurling. PID was formed to perceive and observe the possibility of the overseas threat and revolutionary activity in the country; (2) PID has responsibility to collect all information concerning any movement that happened in society. Based on the report which is gotten from PID, Governmental of Colonial can take the correct decision to be applied; (3) Forming impact of PID in Hindia-belanda that is the happening of "Crisis Movement".

Abstract

Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht has been recognized by society as traditional drug for a long time. The active constituent of this plants especially the volatile oil, which contains monoterpenes and sesquiterpenes. The use of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht rhizome which is a botanical insecticide shows higher safety because the molecule is easily broken down into harmless compounds against the environment. The aim of this research were to know about the activity of larvacide from the volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht rhizome and also to analyze its chemical compounds using GC-MS. The volatile oil was isolated from Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht with steam and water destillation method. The volatile oil in the aqueous ethanol 70 % v/v was made as the test solution for larvacide. The concentrations of the volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht rhizomes used were 150 ppm; 201 ppm; 270 ppm; 362 ppm; 485 ppm; 650 ppm. Abate was used as positive control at concentration 0,001 ppm; 0,0025 ppm; 0,0065 ppm; 0,016 ppm; 0,04 ppm; 0,1 ppm while aqueous ethanol 70 % v/v was used as negative control. Each treatment were used 20 larvaes of Aedes aegypti and was observed during 24 hours. The data of died larvae were counted to estimate the values of LC50 with probit analysis method. The chemical compound of volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht was analyzed by the GC-MS. The results of this research showed that the volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht have clear-brass colour, bitter taste, typically aromatic, rendemen equal to (0,25 ± 0,011) % v/w and refractive index 1,4818. The value of LC50 for the volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht rhizome is (407,06 ± 31,6985) ppm while abate equal to (0,0132 ± 0,0013) ppm. This matter indicates that abate more potent to larvae of Aedes aegypti. The result of analyze the component of the volatile oil of Boesenbergia pandurata (Roxb) Schlecht by the GC-MS obtained of 15 peak chromatogram and 6 peak which has identified showed the possibility the existence of champene, eucalyptol, ocimene, camphora, geraniol, methyl cinnamate.
