Abstract

The research discusses about the energy saving techniques in the design of data logger devices based on AVR microcontroller for monitoring parameters of the air temperature and sunlight intensity in the visible light spectrum. These energy reduction techniques include hardware aspects such as the use of the minimum system, peripherals power supply control and software such as sleep-mode. When the intensity of the sun light increase, the interrupt pin will activate the system, otherwise if the light intensity decreases the system is in a state of sleep-mode. The electrical energy consumption of the data logger continuously recorded on an external memory (SD card) in real-time so that the energy for 24 hours can be known and the long-term-use energy can be predicted. Based on the results of measurements and calculations it is known that it takes energy of 8.23 Wh to turn the data logger for 24 hours. With this reduction technique, the data logger energy consumption can be reduced by 68.5%.Keywords: data logger, energy saving, sun, sleep mode, interrupt

Abstract

This study discusses the design of arm robot model with 5 degree of freedom that is designed to be a small-scale model of the articulated robot industry to simulate the movement of the robots industry. The objective of this research is to build a real arm robot based on kinematic aspects with the movement of waist, shoulder, elbow, wrist pitch, wrist roll and gripper, and to analyze the robot movement. The design includes building the real arm robot based on Arduino Uno board controller and the movement of the robot using servo motor DC. The robot  can be controlled automatically from the computer with the RS-232 or USB port interface and it learns about the kinematic of the robot’s arm when an experiment on the forward kinematic is accomplished. The robot was running well, with the maximum distance that can be reached by the robot on the coordinate axis  x = 425 mm, y = 425 mm and  z = 480 mm.

Abstract

Monitoring the output parameters of a solar module is required for assessing its performance under real operating conditions. This paper presents a new technique for monitoring the output parameters i.e. current and voltage of solar module directly under real operating conditions. In this new monitoring technique, the output parameters of a solar module can be directly processed in real time condition and their results are displayed in a graph. The monitoring system is developed using microprocessor Arduino Atmega 328P and equipped with calibrated current and voltage sensors, a data acquisition system which is integrated directly into an Excel spreadsheet using the PLX-DAQ application program and a memory card for backup. The monitoring system is connected to a computer using a RS232 serial port. The collected data is saved directly into a spreadsheet and plotted in real time. This technique provides an easy access to the collected data for further analysis.

Abstract

Untuk menampilkan kurva karakteristik I-V diperlukan sebuah peralatan dalam menelusuri keluaran sebuah modul surya yang disebut IV Tracer. IV Tracer bekerja berdasarkan nilai tegangan kerja yang divariasikan terhadap sebuah modul surya mulai dari titik nol sampai nilai tegangan rangkaian terbuka (open circuit). Berdasarkan hasil percobaan menggunakan rangkaian snubber dengan nilai kapasitor 47 uF, tahanan 5 Ω dan dioda FR207 memperlihatkan bentuk kurva arus dan tegangan yang sesuai datasheet dengan selisih rata-rata sebesar 8,89 % berdasarkan parameter nilai modul surya yang diuji. Data yang diperoleh merupakan nilai variasi tegangan saat switching MOSFET IRF540 selama 1600 milisekon dengan mengumpulkan sebanyak 52 titik pengujian. IV tracer yang dirancang memiliki batasan sebesar 200 mA - 8V berdasarkan pengaturan yang dilakukan pada layar TFT 1,8”. Kata kunci:

Abstract

Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) applies information and communication technologies for transportation management. The problem in the study is the importance of computer vision tools to determine the volume of traffic on the highway. The design of computer vision device is performed using a static camera and the bounding box method for determining the traffic volume based on vehicle type, namely light vehicles, heavy vehicles (trucks) and motorcycles that are applied on the Gaussian Mixture Models (GMM). The classification is based on the pixel area of vehicle objects. The tests were carried out at Jalan T. Nyak Arief, Jambotape, Banda Aceh. The test results of the system achieved an accuracy of 79.32%.

Abstract

Abstract: Disaster impact on losses for both material and non-material and is caused by natural and non-natural factors. Any losses require post-disaster recovery. Implementation of the recovery is done in all sectors as was done by the Irrigation Department  of Aceh. The main problems in the implementation of construction projects of natural disasters and other not natural disaster is a good project management practices between the two. The purpose of this study was to investigate the application of project management for the implementation of construction projects of natural disasters and other not natural disasters as well as investigating whether there is a difference or not to the application of project management between the two. Method study conducted through a questionnaire survey with the target respondent is the owner and contractor of the project construction natural disasters and non-natural disasters in the field of Wetlands and Coastal Irrigation (IRP) Irrigation Department  of Aceh from 2009-2012 with APBA funding. Based on the results of data processing and the discussion that has been done, the owner and the contractor have the same perception (correlated) to rank the answers in conducting project management application in the category of cost and time. For comparison (comparison test), the application of project management at the time and expense categories shows that there is a difference from the second respondent implementation of project management in both categories. Abstrak: Bencana berdampak pada kerugian baik materil maupun non materil dan disebabkan oleh faktor alam maupun non alam. Segala kerugian membutuhkan pemulihan  pasca bencana. Pelaksanaan pemulihan dilakukan pada semua sektor seperti yang dilakukan oleh Dinas Pengairan Aceh. Permasalahan utama dalam pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi bencana alam dan non bencana alam adalah penerapan manajemen proyek yang baik antara keduanya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menyelidiki penerapan manajemen proyek untuk pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi bencana alam dan non bencana alam serta menyelidiki apakah terdapat perbedaan atau tidak untuk penerapan manajemen proyek diantara keduanya. Metode penelitian  yang dilakukan melalui survey kuesioner dengan target responden adalah pihak owner dan kontraktor pelaksanaan proyek konstruksi bencana alam dan non bencana alam pada bidang  Irigasi Rawa dan Pantai (IRP) Dinas Pengairan Aceh dari tahun 2009 – 2012 dengan sumber dana APBA. Berdasarkan hasil pengolahan data dan pembahasan yang telah dilakukan, owner dan kontraktor memiliki persepsi yang sama (berkorelasi) terhadap peringkat jawaban  dalam melakukan penerapan manajemen proyek pada kategori biaya dan waktu. Untuk perbandingan (uji komparasi), penerapan manajemen proyek  pada  kategori waktu dan biaya menunjukkan bahwa dari kedua responden terdapat perbedaan penerapan manajemen proyek pada kedua kategori.

Abstract

Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) is a problem where each initial route of departure and return path between regions remains the same. The problem with TSP is how to get the optimum results to get the shortest path that will be passed, to solve TSP problems, one way can be by using evolved algorithms. Evolution Algorithm (AE) is a method that uses natural selection as the main idea in solving a particular problem. This algorithm is implemented through computer simulations starting from the individual population that will be randomly generated and then evaluated to achieve the best solution. Random search is included in part of stochastic optimization and global optimization. Random search is a direct search method that does not require derivatives to search for continue domains. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of population initialization with random search on algorithms evolving in TSP optimization. Results of initialization strategy implementation Random search has shown more optimal results compared to pure initialization without using random search. This is due to the initialization searching for space for random initialization.

Abstract

This paper presents Multi-Objective Integer Non-Linear Programming (MOINLP) involving Negative Total Float (NTF) for improving the basic model of Multi-Objective Programming (MOP) in case the optimization of the additional cost for Project Scheduling Compression (PSC). Using the basic MOP to solve the more complex problems is a challenging task. We suspect that Negative Total Float (NTF) having an indication to make the basic MOP to solve the more general case, both simple and complex of PSC. The purpose of this research is identifying the conflicting objectives in PSC problem using NTF and improving MOINLP by involving the NTF parameter to solve the PSC problem. The Solver Application, which is an add-in of MS Excel, is used to perform optimization process to the model developed. The results show that NTF has an important role to identify the conflicting objectives in PSC. We define NTF is an automatic maximum value of the activity duration reduction to achieve due date of PSC. Furthermore, the use of NTF as a constraint in MOINLP can solve the more general case for both simple and complex PSC problem. Base on the condition, we state that the basic MOP is still significant to solve the PSC complex problems using MOINLP as a sophisticated MOP technique.

Abstract

Ancient document usually contains multiple noises such as uneven-background, show-through, water-spilling, spots, and blur text. The noise will affect the binarization process. Binarization is an extremely important process in image processing, especially for character recognition. This paper presents an improvement to Nina binarization technique. Improvements were achieved by reducing processing steps and replacing median filtering by Wiener filtering. First, the document background was approximated by using Wiener filter, and then image subtraction was applied. Furthermore, the manuscript contrast was adjusted by mapping intensity of image value using intensity transformation method. Next, the local Otsu thresholding was applied. For removing spotting noise, we applied labeled connected component. The proposed method had been testing on H-DIBCO 2014 and degraded Jawi handwritten ancient documents. It performed better regarding recall and precision values, as compared to Otsu, Niblack, Sauvola, Lu, Su, and Nina, especially in the documents with show-through, water-spilling and combination noises.
