Abstract

Abstrak: Model bimbingan dan konseling (BK) proaktif dirancang sebagai upaya untuk melatih dan membekali para guru dengan kemampuan psikologi yang diperlukan. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan quasi experiment dengan pre-test dan post-test. Model BK-PROAKTIF diberikan melalui pelatihan keterampilan psikologi oleh tim 6 jam setiap hari selama 2 hari. Penelitian ini dilakukan di MIN Tempel Sleman Yogyakarta. Terdapat 8 guru yang termasuk dalam kelompok perlakuan dan 8 wali murid sebagai kelompok kontrol. Subjek penelitian dipilih menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Peneliti mengamati efektivitas perlakuan selama 4 bulan sejak perlakuan diberikan dengan mengamati dan mewawancarai subjek penelitian dan orang-orang yang telah mengenal subjek lebih dari satu tahun. Post-test diberikan saat observasi terakhir. Analisis data diolah menggunakan analisis kuantitatif, statistik Mann Whitney dan analisis kualitatif yang menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan karakter persepsi diri, self esteem, dan motivasi kerja para guru SD/MI setelah dilakukan pelatihan keterampilan psikologi dengan metode Proaktif. Namun demikian, tidak ada perbedaan persepsi diri, self-esteem, dan motivasi kerja antara kelompok perlakuan dan kelompok kontrol. Kata Kunci: bimbingan dan konseling, persepsi diri, self-esteem, dan motivasi kerja "BK PROACTIVE" PSYCHOLOGICAL SKILLS MODEL FOR DEVELOPING THE CHARACTER AND PERSONALITY OF HUMANISTIC PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS Abstract: Guidance and Counseling Proactive Model is designed as a proactive effort to train and equip teachers with the necessary psychological capabilities. This study used a quasi-experimental design with pre-test and post-test. BK-PROACTIVE model was implemented through psychological skills training by a team for 6 hours per day for 2 days. This research was conducted in MIN Tempel Sleman, Yogyakarta. There were 8 teachers included in the treatment group and eight guardians of the students as the control group. Subjects were selected using a purposive sampling technique. The researchers investigated the effectiveness of the treatment for 4 months after treatment was given by observing and interviewing the subjects of research and the people who had known the subjects for more than one year. A post-test was given in the last observation. The quantitative data were analyzed using quantitative analysis, Mann Whitney statistical, and the qualitative data from observation and interviews were analyzed using qualitative data analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in the perception of character, self esteem, and motivation of the primary school teachers after the implementation of the proactive psychological skills training technique. However, there was no significant difference in self-perception, self-esteem, and motivation between the experiment group and the control group. PROGRAM PELATIHAN DENGAN METODE SIMULASI UNTUK FASILITATOR: PENELITIAN AWAL KEMATIAN TENTANG IBU YANG HAMIL, SIAPA YANG BERTANGGUNG JAWAB?

Abstract

Maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is considered relatively high (UNICEF, 1994). It is necessary to make concrete efforts to cut down the number of women who die in the period of their pregnancy, at birth, and in the period of 42 days after birth, either caused by direct effects of pregnancy of birth, or by indirect effects of certain diseases, not to include accidents. Maternal mortality has socially broad impact since the mother’s double functions is cannot be replaced by others. Research has shown that a baby born by a mother who died at the birth, has 90 % possibility to die in the first year of his or her life. This tragedy should not have happened since 80 % of maternal mortality can be prevented (Indonesian Department of Health, 1999). This study is meant to find an alternative method which is reliable and testable to improve the level of initiative (responsive attitudes) of pregnant women and of all elements of the surrounding social institutions to issues related to maternal mortality risk. One to mention is by comparing the use of simulation method (together with poster campaigns) with that of radio-spot broadcast method. The study focuses on several targets, among others are 1) a case study related to the handling of high-risk pregnancy which has so far been done, as a step stone to developing an instrument to change attitude/behavior; 2) constructing an inventory or questionnaire on attitude change which will be used as a measuring instrument in the research to follow; and 3) making instruments to change attitude (in the forms of simulation sheets and posters) of which the effectiveness, validity, and reliability as intervening media will be trained to the simulation facilitators. Developing intervening media in the form of radio-spots will be in the third-year phase of the study, and comparing the two intervening media is to be done in the year afterwards. The third and fourth studies, however, do not manifest since the budget cut is significant in limiting the production of the intervention media. The preliminary study by using in-depth interviews with 56 subjects showed that a great majority of high-risk pregnant women had low level of understanding and initiative to various anticipatory measures needed to face emergency situations in pregnancy period and at birth. A number of social institutions in the surroundings such as neighbors and Village Community Welfare Institutions and health service providers such as Integrated Service Post and Community Health Center had not yet played significant roles. Draft of simulation sheets and posters had been made and tried out according to the plan. The questionnaire has been designed and has been tried out. The training for the facilitators has also been completed in the first year study. Keywords: Simulation method, material mortality.

Abstract

The aim of this istudy is to investigate the relationship between the effectiveness of guidance and counselling’s function and student’s perception towards guidance and counselling in Stella Duce I Middle School of Yogyakarta. It was hypothesized that there is a positive relationship between effectiveness of guidance and counselling’s function and student’s perception towards guidance and counselling. The subjects of this study (N = 117) were the students of Stella Duce I Middle School of Yogyakarta. Two questionnaires were applied to measure effectiveness of guidance and counselling’s function and student’s perception towards guidance and counselling. The result indicated a positive and significant relationship between effectiveness of guidance and counselling’s function and student’s perception towards guidance and counselling (r = 0,677 p = 0,000), meaning that the research hypothesis was accepted. The determination coefficient was 0,459 indicating that the effectiveness of guidance and counselling’s function contributes 45, 9% to the development of student’s perception towards guidance and coun‐selling.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between self monitoring and impulsive buying towards fashion product on adolescent. It was hypothesized that there is a positive relationship between self monitoring and impulsive buying towards fashion product on adolescent. The subjects of this study (N = 92) were the students of Faculty of Economy Gadjah Mada University, Yogyakarta. Two questionnaires were applied to measure self monitoring and impulsive buying towards fashion product on adolescent. The result indicated a positive and significant relationship between attitude towards modernization and entrepreneurship on adolescent (r = 0,402; p = 0,000), meaning that the research hypothesis was accepted. The determination coefficient was 0,162 indicating that the self monitoring contributes 16,2% to the impulsibve buying toward fashion product on adolescent.

Abstract

This  study  was  aimed  to  see  the difference  between  emotional  intelligence  of those  who  participated  in  meditation program and those who did not. The subjects of this study were university students. The subjects were divided into 3 groups:meditators who were currently participating in meditation program for 1‐6 months, meditators who were currently participating in meditation program for more than 6 months, and non‐meditators. Each group consisted 30 subjects. Anova analysis resulted a coefficient of F = 34. 703, and p < 0.01. The results indicated that there was a difference in emotional intelligence between the 3 groups. Meditators who participated in meditation for more than 6 months had higher emotional intelligence than those who had only participated for 1‐6 months, and non‐meditators. There was no difference in emotional intelligence between those who had only participated for 1‐6 months and non‐meditators.

Abstract

The main purpose of this research is to investigate the correlation between self-esteem and life meaning in retired civil servants of Republic of Indonesia. The additional aim is to determine thelevel of self-esteem and life meaning amongst the subjects. There were 32 retired civil servants selected as research subjects using the purposive sampling technique. This research was conducted onOctober 13, 2012, from 09:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the PWRI Srandakan office in Srandakan, Bantul, Yogyakarta. The researcher distributed questionnaire forms, consisted of 29 statements for self-esteem scale and 34 statements for life meaning scale. Researcher interviewed five subjects to obtain additional information and enrich the discussion. The results showed that there is a positive andsignificant correlation between self-esteem and life meaning in the retired civil servants, r=0.615, p= 0.000 (α<0.01). The research subjects scored higher than expected in the mentioned scales because the empiric score is larger than hypothetic score. The effective contribution of self-esteem variable towards life meaning is 38%.

Abstract

Sebagai konselor yang menaruh minat pada berbagai masalah perkawinan, kondisi psikologis isteri yang akan, sedang ataupun setelah mengalami menopause menempati prosentase yang cukup banyak memberikan kontribusi bagi timbulnya masalah dari keseluruhan masalah yang dihadapi . Rasa cemas, tidak berdaya, sedih, cemburu, marah, dan berbagai perasaan tidak nyaman muncul pada usia itu dan biasanya selalu disertai dengan berbagai keluhan fisik seperti rematik, jantung berdebar, lemas, pusing, bermasalah dengan tekanan darah, gula darah, kolesterol, asam urat dan lain-lain. Mengapa hal ini terjadi, ada apa dengan menopause?
