Abstract

Abstract:  Human beings possess three kinds of intruments to catch the whole reality. The three instruments are the five senses, reason and intellectuality as well as intuiion (revelation and inspiration)  whreas the Western intellectluas agree one instrument only, namely the five senses so that they  develope one research method only, namely observation method and  experiment. The observation method is continually developed  into very sopisticated level but it persistently derive from  the sense perception. Reason—in the form of reasoning—is employed, but only to choose, to decide and to perform reasoning, not as  other instruments to catch the reality. This makes the Western intellectuals different from the Muslim intellectuals since the later  admit the validity of not only the observation method  but also of the rational and intuitive method.  Kata Kunci: integrasi, interkonektisitas, sains,  ilmu agama, panca indera, akal

Abstract

Tulisan ini membahas tentang pendidikan karakter, Al-Qaulu Al-Qadim Wa al-Qaulu Al-Hadits. Pendidikan dimaksud bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengendalikan emosi dan bersikap samahah (toleran) dan terbuka, bagaimana menanamkan nilai nilai kejujuran (honesty), loyalitas, dan integritas (integrity), dapat dipercaya (amanah.trusworthy), memperlakukkan orang lain dengan respek (respect), bertanggung jawab (responsible), adil (fair), serta peduli dan kasih (caring), memiliki ciri manusia trampil (cultivating students’ practical skills), kreatif, kerja keras, bersemangat (cultivating students innovative spirit), mandiri, percaya diri, bijak, tekun, tegar, tertib, sadar hukum dan aturan, disiplin, damai, dan hormat, santun, suka menolong, dan baik serta rendah hati. Semua unsur yang disebut di ataslah yang ingin dicapaidalam pendidikan karakter. -----------------This articlediscusses about character building education, Al-Qaulu Al-Qadim Wa al-Qaulu Al-Hadits. Education, accordingly, isaimed to improve the ability of controlling emotion, have tolerant (samahah) and inclusive, that is to invest moral values, such as honesty, loyalty, integrity, trustworthy, respect, responsibility, fairness, and caring. Character building is also intended to make students as cultivating students’ practical skills, creativity, industriousness, cultivating students innovative spirit, self-confidence, andwisdom. Ultimately, all theseelements have been mentioned above will be obtained through character education.

Abstract

This article is a kind of introductory explanation of how Islamic epistemology does not and cannot separate religion from the general knowledge and science in general. The idea will begin from the anxiety of some prominent people in religions of the world on the facts happening nowadays at western universities and higher-education institutions. Based on that, this article tries to introduce the classification of knowledge as far as Islam is concerned. It will be elaborated that by recognizing the senses alone, western scientists are only developing a research method, the observation method, or sensory experiments. This observation method is further developed to a very sophisticated method, but it still empties into the absorption of sense-perception. Sense process in the form of reasoning is used, but only to choose, to decide and to reason, not as another instrument in capturing realities. Contrary to Western scientists, as can be seen further, Muslim scientists recognize that the legitimacy of science is not based only on the observation method, but also rational and intuitive methods. In other words, the science does not only recognize the sensory perception in the process of knowledge, but also the sense and perception of the voice of the heart. This has brought about changes and inventions in many fields of knowledge in the early development of Islam. The dichotomy and separation of religion from the general knowledge in Islam as far as history proved had made Islam fail to shine until the time being.

Abstract

The paper talks about how violence and conflict in every form of life will get anybody nowhere and how the call for peace and tranquility should be implemented by each mankind, wherever he lives and wherever they as a group may reside. Hence, peaceful values in global perspective are of great significance. The questions which may be raised are what do we need to have and what do we need to know prior to talking about peace and tranquility? The other questions which may spur are how to implement peace and what makes peace fail and tranquility never becomes a reality. The answer to those questions will become an elaboration of the gist of this article. Historically and spiritually speaking, peace will not be realized if the reason of failure to achieve peace has not been made aware and known to mankind. Albeit various advices and directions have been given, peace shall not be realized. This is due to the fact that the advice and directions given have not met the substance of the cause and have not been able to provide a comprehensive solution to peace itself. Some of the substances of this article, therefore, will try to prove how the need to recognizing and understanding the “voice of the heart” as “inner-soul” and “inner capacity” themselves will become an essential thing to be realized by every individual, so that they can thereafter be known by all mankind globally wherever they may be.

Abstract

Hasil penelitian terkait quality control terhadap proses pembelajaran menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan quality control pada perencanaan pembelajaran, pelaksanaan pembelajaran dan evaluasi hasil pembelajaran telah dilaksanakan sesuai standar yang ditetapkan baik internal maupun berdasarkan standar nasional pendidikan tinggi (SNPT), dengan indikator tersedianya program tahunan maupun semester, dan kalender akademik yang menjadi acuan dalam proses pembelajaran, penyediaan sarana dan prasarana pembelajaran, dan tersedianya RPS/Silabus. Adapun program yang dilakukan Pascasarjana terkait dengan quality control, yakni: 1) pelaksanaan rapat edukasi setiap awal tahun akademik berjalan yang bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pembelajaran yang telah terlaksana sekaligus mendengarkan masukan-masukan dan aspirasi dosen dalam rangka peningkatan mutu dan proses penyelenggaraan pendidikan, 2) control terhadap kehadiran dosen kegiatan pembelajaran, 3) control pelaksanaan tugas dosen dengan mekanisme penilaian course evaluation survey yang terintegrasi dengan sistem informasi akademik, 3) control yang dilakukan oleh pengelola program studi terkait dengan terhadap pelaksanaan pembelajaran baik secara langsung di ruangan, maupun melalui absensi setelah perkuliahan dilaksanakan, 4) control yang dilakukan oleh ketua program studi terkait kesesuaian materi yang diberikan oleh dosen dengan silabi yang telah dibuat dan disetujui melalui instrumen jurnal perkuliahan, 5) kontrol pelaksanaan evaluasi terkait ujian yang dilaksanakan baik ujian semester maupun ujian lainnya seperti ujian kualifikasi proposal, hasil tutup maupun ujian terbuka (promosi). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut, dapat dinyatakan bahwa pelaksanaan quality control di Pascasarjana Universitas Islam Alauddin Makassar dilaksanakan dengan menerapkan konsep mutu yang lebih mengacu pada standar-standar, baik itu standar nasional pendidikan tinggi maupun standar mutu internal yang ditetapkan olen lembaga, dan belum sepenuhnya mempertimbangkan kebutuhan pasar serta keinginan konsumen (stakeholders). Hal ini menguatkan teori mutu yang dikemukakan oleh Philip B. Crosby yang menyatakan bahwa mutu adalah kesesuaian dengan yang dipersyaratkan/distandarkan. Penelitian ini diharapkan dapat berimplikasi terhadap upaya peningkatan mutu layanan administrasi akademik melalui penguatan sistem dan kebijakan pengelolaan pendidikan yang bermutu dan berdaya saing.

Abstract

The quality assurance system at the State Islamic Higher Education in South Sulawesi is already running by using a variety of credible quality documents through a determination. These various quality documents are then carried out as a normative-academic reference in the quality assurance system for further evaluation. The evaluation results are then controlled by trying to find alternative solutions to various arising problems that are accompanied by efforts to improve the quality itself. The constraint of the quality assurance system is the maximum dissemination of various quality documents so that it triggers a refresive attitude among some of the academic community and their lack of attention to the applied quality assurance system. Another constraint faced is that the Islamic education paradigm has not been maximally accommodated in various quality policies with all its derivatives as well as the incomplete fulfillment of each standard. These various constraints tend to emerge beginning with the determination to then have implications for other Islamic education quality assurance cycles which in this case are the implementation, evaluation, control and improvement. Even on a macro scale, the Islamic education quality assurance system still dwells on the establishment, implementation, and evaluation and is still not maximal on control and improvement because there is an impression that quality assurance is carried out for pragmatic purposes, especially accreditation. The efforts made by the State Islamic Higher Education in South Sulawesi in overcoming various constraints to the quality assurance system are maximizing the socialization of the quality assurance system that is applied in each cycle starting from the establishment, implementation, evaluation, control and improvement. In addition, there is a need to adjust the quality assurance system policy with all its derivatives with the paradigm developed by the institution which is then accompanied by maximum fulfillment of each standard.

Abstract

This research was aimed at analyzing the 1) existence of the Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso as a traditional Islamic educational institution; 2) the dynamic policy of national education in the period of 1989-2018; 3) various national education policy accommodating by the Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso; and 4) varied obstacles and experienced by the pesantren in accommodating national education policy and the solutions. The method used in this research was qualitative through a phenomenology approach. The data sourced from elements of leaders, educators, and students from the pesantren. The data were gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed through three working tracks namely data reduction, interpretation, and concluding. The results of this research show that the Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso is still kept existing as a traditional Islamic educational institution by preserving five roles: a place transforming classical Islamic sciences, Da’wah institution, Islamic tradition conservationists, Islamic scholar generating center, and community service and empowerment. The position change of pesantren in the national educational policy during 1989–2018 implicates dynamiclally to the Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso. Its dynamics is divided into three steps namely institutional transformation, curriculum integration, and cultured-based inclusive paradigm implementation. The accommodation forms of national education policy conducting by the Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso are classical system, national education curriculum implementation, and standardizing the learning process and educators. Some obstacles facing in accommodating these forms are like culture and organizational structure wrestling, limited resource, and lack of community participation. This research has implications for the importance of the accumulation of cultural values, religious values, and modern values in pesantren so that it can compete amid the progress of educational institutions in general.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis 1) eksistensi Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso sebagai representasi lembaga pendidikan Islam tradisonal; 2) dinamika kebijakan pendidikan nasional kurun waktu 1989-2018; 3) ragam kebijakan pendidikan nasional yang diakomodasi oleh Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso; dan 4) ragam hambatan Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso dalam mengakomodasi kebijakan pendidikan nasional beserta solusinya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi yang datanya dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso tetap eksis sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam tradisional meski melakukan pengembangan yang sifatnya modern dengan mempertahankan lima peran, yaitu: Tempat transmisi ilmu-ilmu Islam klasik, lembaga dakwah, pelestari tradisi Islam, pusat reproduksi ulama, serta tempat pengabdian dan pengembangan masyarakat. Perubahan posisi pesantren dalam kebijakan pendidikan nasional kurun waktu 1989-2018 berimplikasi terhadap kebijakan pendidikan Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso yang dinamikanya dibagi ke dalam tiga tahap, yaitu: transformasi kelembagaan, pemaduan kurikulum, dan penerapan paradigma inklusif berbasis budaya. Bentuk akomodasi kebijakan pendidikan nasional oleh Pondok Pesantren DDI Mangkoso adalah pengelolaan sistem klasikal, implementasi kurikulum pendidikan nasional, standarisasi proses pembelajaran, dan standarisasi tenaga pendidik. Berbagai hambatan dalam akomodasi tersebut adalah pergumulan kultur dan struktur organisasi, keterbatasan sumber daya, dan minimnya partisipasi masyarakat. Penelitian ini berimplikasi pada perlunya akumulasi nilai tradisional, nilai agama, dan nilai modern oleh pesantren agar mampu bersaing bahkan menjadi inspirasi di tengah kemajuan lembaga pendidikan pada umumnya.
