Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the value of benefits in favor of complete feed production performance and carcass weight of any part of the carcass part-goat nuts. The design used in this study. Random Draft Complete. The material used in this study of 12 male goats Nuts averaging initial body weight (15.58 ± 2.601 kg) with a CV: 16.69%, age 10-15 months. At the end of the study 12 goats to know the weight of nuts cut carcass and parts of the carcass. Results of analysis of variance showed that treatment of complete feed on a significantly different (P <0.05) on carcass weight produced goat nuts. Results of analysis of variance showed that treatment of complete feed on a significantly different (P <0.05) against the weight of all the parts ice nuts goat carcass neck, shoulder, breast, leg chump on, ribs, loin, fore shank and the weight of the flank. CF0 and CF3 treatment effects did not provide a very real difference to the weight of carcass parts, but the weight of the carcass are treated CF3 higher than the CF0. Abstract

Penelitian tentang status seng masyarakat Indonesia baru sangat sedikit dilakukan, antara lain pada anak dengan gizi buruk dan di daerah yang banyak kejadian bibir sumbing. Kelompok yang perlu mendapatkan banyak perhatian dan belum diketahui status seng mereka antara lain adalah kelompok ibu hamil, ibu menyusui dan ibu melahirkan. Fungsi seng amat penting antara lain untuk pertumbuhan dan perkembangan, reproduksi, kekebalan, fungsi sensori, proteksi antioksidan dan stabilisasi membran. Telah dilakukan penelitian secara "cross-sectional" terhadap kelompok ibu hamil, ibu menyusui dan ibu melahirkan masing-masing sebanyak 66, 75 dan 34 orang. Umur ibu hamil berkisar antara 16 hingga 39 tahun, ibu melahirkan berumur antara 18 hingga 40 tahun, dan umur ibu menyusui berkisar antara 17 hingga 39 tahun. Analisis data dilakukan secara deskriptif dan uji hubungan. Hasil penelltian menunjukkan bahwa kadar seng ketiga kelompok ibu berkisar antara 0.05 hingga 5.0 ug/ml. Median kadar seng serum ibu hamil, ibu melahirkan dan ibu menyusui masing-masing adalah 0.51; 0.49 dan 0.96 ug/ml. Uji kuat hubungan antara kadar seng dengan kadar vitamin A pada masing-masing kelompok ibu ternyata menunjukkan hanya pada ibu hamil masih ada hubungan yang bermakna (r=0.2859, p=0.020). Uji kuat hubungan antara kadar seng dengan kadar ferritin ternyata menunjukkan bahwa hanya pada ibu melahirkan masih ada hubungan yang bermakna (r=0.2736, p=0.0175).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine digestibility of complete feed containing starch tubers from different varieties of banana plants. The experiment was run according to completely randomized design with six treatments of complete feed rations containing starch tubers of different banana varieties (control/without tubers and five different banana starch tubers: ambon, kepok, batu, susu, and raja) and three replication for each treatment. The results showed that treatment of complete feed did not significantly affect (P>0.05) ruminal NH3 produced. However the treatment of complete feed significantly affected (P<0.05) rumen fluid pH. Furthermore, production of individual volatile fatty acids/VFA (asetat, propionat, and butirat) was significantly (P<0.05) different among the treatments. The highest production of volatile fatty acids (VFA) was obtained from the complete feed containing banana starch tubers of batu.

Abstract

Setiap makhluk hidup termasuk bakteri memiliki kemampuan untuk beradaptasi pada kondisi lingkungan yang tidak sesuai dengan zona nyamannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat respon bakteri E.coli terhadap kondisi asam atau pH rendah sebagai bentuk adaptasinya. Pada penelitian ini terdapat 5 perlakuan yaitu E.coli yang ditumbuhkan pada media Nutrien Broth sebagai kontrol (P0), E.coli yang ditumbuhkan pada media Nutrien Broth dengan kondisi asam (pH 4) (P1), E.coli yang ditumbuhkan pada media Nutrien Broth dengan kondisi asam (pH 4) dan diberi glukosa 10 % (P2), selanjutnya diberi glukosa 30 % (P3) dan 50 % (P4). Pada setiap perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Jumlah populasi dihitung dengan Metode Turbidimetri menggunakan spektrofotometer melalui nilai kekeruhan (OD). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa media dengan pH rendah (pH 4) dapat menghambat pertumbuhan bakteri E.coli, sedangkan penambahan glukosa mampu mempertahankan pertumbuhan bakteri E.coli. Penambahan glukosa sampai 50 % terbukti mampu meningkatkan populasi sampai jam ke 29, sedangkan pada pemberian glukosa 10 dan 30 % sudah terjadi penurunan populasi bakteri E.coli pada jam ke 29.Kata kunci:  E.coli, adaptasi, asam,  populasi bakteri

Abstract

Dalam kurikulum 2013 tujuan Pendidikan Nasional dikemas dalam 3 aspek sebagai SKL (Standar Kompetensi Lulusan) yaitu aspek  sikap, aspek keterampilan dan aspek pengetahuan. Dalam  pembelajaran IPA sedapat mungkin guru/dosen melaksanakan proses pembelajaran secara Inkuiri Ilmiah untuk menumbuhkan kemampuan bekerja ilmiah, bersikap ilmiah dan dapat mengkomunikasikannya sebagai komponen penting dalam kecakapan hidup (BNSP,2006). Pembelajaran inkuiri memberi kontribusi terhadap ketiga aspek SKL pada  mahasiswa , kenyataannya dosen kurang membelajarkan IPA melalui  inkuiri kepada para mahasiswanya. Telah dilakukan penelitian uji coba  terhadap  mahasiswa non IPA yang memperoleh mata kuliah Ilmu Alamiah Dasar di semester tiga sebanyak 28 orang. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Design (R&D). Komponen yang diteliti dan diamati adalah: kemampuan kognisi, kemampuan  kerja ilmiah dan sikap mahasiswa. Kemampuan kognisi dijaring melalui pretest dan postest yang bersifat close question.  Kemampuan  kerja ilmiah dijaring melalui Lembar Kerja Mahasiswa  dengan pembelajaran inkuiri berbantuan multimedia, sedangkan sikap ilmiah mahasiswa diamati pada saat proses pembelajaran berlangsung. Hasil analisis penelitian  menunjukkan: (1) Terdapat perbedaan kemampuan kognisi mahasiswa yang signifikan pada hasil pretest dan postest. Rerata N gain  terhadap kemampuan kognisi mahasiswa adalah 0,31 (sedang) dan rerata gain sebesar 15,18. (2) Kemampuan  kerja ilmiah mahasiswa berdasarkan rerata nilai dari yang terendah (42,38) hingga tertinggi (59,53) adalah: Merumuskan masalah (42,38), merumuskan variabel (43,10), membuat grafik (49,29), merumuskan hipotesis (50,95), memprediksi  (55,24),mengumpulkan data  (56,19), menghitung (56,43), menyimpulkan (59,05) dan mengkomunikasikan (59,53). (3) Sikap yang teramati secara dominan berturut-turut adalah: Rasa ingin tahu, mengemukakan pendapat, kerja sama, tekun, tanggung jawab, terbuka, kreatifitas, jujur dan peduli terhadap lingkungan.In 2013 the curriculum goals of the National Education packaged in 3 aspects as SKL (Competency Standards) which aspects of attitudes, skills and knowledge aspect aspect. In learning science wherever possible teachers / lecturers carry out the process of scientific inquiry learning capabilities to foster scientific work, scientific attitude and can communicate as critical components in life skills (BNSP, 2006). Inquiry learning contributes to the three aspects of SKL on students, lecturers fact less membelajarkan science through inquiry to his students. Has conducted research trials to non-science students who obtain a Basic Natural Science courses in three semesters as many as 28 people. Using research methods Research and Design (R & D). Components are researched and observed are: cognitive ability, scientific ability and attitude of student work. The ability of cognition pretest and posttest captured through nature close question. The ability of the scientific work captured through the Student Worksheet with multimedia-assisted inquiry learning, while the scientific attitude of students observed during the learning process takes place. The results of analysis showed that: (1) There are differences in cognitive abilities of students were significant at pretest and posttest results. The mean N gain against the cognitive ability of students is 0.31 (medium) and a mean gain of 15.18. (2) The ability of the scientific work of students based on the mean value of the lowest (42.38) to the highest (59.53) is: Formulate the problem (42.38), formulating variables (43.10), make a chart (49.29) , formulate hypotheses (50.95), predict (55.24), collecting data (56.19), calculate (56.43), concluded (59.05) and communicate (59.53). (3) Attitude is observed predominantly in a row are: curiosity, expression, cooperation, diligence, responsibility, open, creative, honest, and caring for the environment.

RUMINAL CONDITION BETWEEN MADURA CATTLE AND ONGOLE CROSSBRED CATTLE RAISED UNDER INTENSIVE FEEDING

Abstract

Each four young bulls of Madura cattle and Ongole Crossbred (OC) cattle were used to study theefficiency of ruminal fermentation by comparing the proportion of Volatile Fatty Acid (VFA) of thesetwo breeds which were raised under intensive feeding. All the cattle were in about 1.5 years-old with anaverage body weight of 147.75 ± 14.57 kg and 167 ± 22.57 kg, for Madura and OC cattle, respectively.They were fed Napier grass (Pennisetum purpureum) hay, and concentrate feeding consists of pollard,soybean meal and rice bran for 10 weeks. Parameters measured were concentration of VFA at 0, 3 and 6h post-feeding and pH. The concentration of VFA in both Madura and OC cattle was peaked at 3 h postfeeding,being 136.1 mmol and 158.9 mmol, respectively, and then were decreased at 6 h post-feeding ata level of 58.1 and 98.2 mmol, respectively. The proportion of acetic acid in Madura and OC cattle were53.33% and 52.0% of total VFA, respectively, while the proportion of propionic acid and butyric acidwere 28.80% and 17.87% for Madura cattle, and 30.71% and 17.28% for OC cattle, respectively. Inaddition, the Acetic/Propionic ratios were 1.85 and 1.69 for Madura and OC cattle, respectively. RumenpH conditions of both cattle breeds tended to be basic, i.e. Madura cattle was ranged at 8.0-8.4, while thePO cattle was ranged at 7.6-8.4. In conclusion, both cattle breeds (Madura and OC cattle) have a similarefficiency to utilize the feeds in the rumen.

THE PERFORMANCE OF JAVA AND ONGOLE CROSSBRED BULL UNDER INTENSIVE FEEDING MANAGEMENT

Abstract

This study was set up to evaluate the performance of Java and Ongole Crossbred (OC) bulls fedconcentrate and rice straw. A total of four Java bulls and four OC bulls were used in this experiment. Thebulls were fed concentrates (50% of the total dry matter feed requirement) and rice straw (ad libitum).The concentrates were consisted of rice bran, beer waste product, copra meal, minerals, with crudeprotein (CP) and total digestible nutrients (TDN) contents of 15.32% and 73.09%, respectively. Theaverage daily gain (ADG), dry matter intake (DMI), protein and energy intake, and feed conversion ratio(FCR) were observed. The results of this study showed that the ADG, DMI, CP and TDN intake, andFCR were not significantly different (p> 0.05). The ADG of Java and OC bulls were 0.58 kg and 0.78kg, respectively. The averages of DMI, CP and TDN intake were 6.59 kg (2.09% of BW), 0.81 kg and4.34 kg for Java bulls whereas for OC bulls were 6.42 kg (2.11% of BW), 0.78 kg, and 4.20 kg,respectively. The FCR of Java bulls was 11.49 and those of OC bulls was 9.21. It can be concluded thatJava and OC bulls raised intensively and fed concentrate and rice straw had the similar performance.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penguasaan materi dan keterampilan berpikir kreatif mahasiswa setelah mengikuti perkuliahan Kimia Lingkungan berbasis masalah untuk materi pencemaran udara. Penelitian dilakukan terhadap mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia di salah satu universitas di Semarang untuk mata kuliah Kimia Lingkungan pada semester genap tahun 2010-2011. Mahasiswa rombel 1 (20 orang) untuk kelas eksperimen diberi perkuliahan dengan pendekatan berbasis masalah. Rombel 2 (23 orang) untuk kelas kontrol diberi perkuliahan seperti yang biasa dilakukan selama ini. Data yang terkumpul selanjutnya dilakukan analisis secara deskriptif. Has ii penelitian menunjukkan N-gain penguasaan materi pencemaran udara mahasiswa kelompok eksperimen adalah sedang, demikian pula untuk kelompok kontrol. N-gain keterampilan berpikir kreatif untuk kelas eksperimen adalah tinggi, sedangkan untuk kelompok kontrol adalah sedang. Lebih dari 50% pendapat mahasiswa menyebutkan bahwa komponen materi, model, pedoman mahasiswa, LKM, suasana belajar dan strategi dosen dalam perkuliahan sangat menarik, sangat baru, dan sangat mudah. Agar N­ gain rerata kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol pada indikator 3 tidak mengalami peningkatan paling sedikit, maka mahasiswa lebih dimotivasi dalam mencari sumber mutakhir tentang penyelesaian masalah pencemaran udara.The purpose of this study was to analyze students material mastery and creative thinking skills after attending Environmental Chemistry-based lectures for a material issue of air pollution. This study was conducted on students of Chemistry Education at a university in Semarang for Environmental Chemistry courses in the second semester 2010-2011. Students of class 1 (20 people) as the experimental group were treated with a problem­ based approach. Class 2 (23 people) as the control group were treated with lectures as was done during this time. The collected data were then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that N -gain of matter mastery of air pollution of experimental group was moderate, as well as for the control group. N-gain of creative thinking skills for the experimental class was high, whereas for the control group was moderate. More than 50% of students said that the material component, models, students guidance and creativity sheets, an atmosphere of learning, and lecturers strategy in the lecture were very interesting, very new, and very easy. In order to gain the mean N-gain of the two groups at the third indicator did not have the least increase, the students were more motivated to look for on the newest source of air pollution problems.

MINAT BACA SASTRA MAHASISWA S-1 PROGRAM STUDI PENDIDIKAN BAHASA DAN SASTRA INDONESIA FKIP UNIVERSITAS BENGKULU TAHUN PELAJARAN 2016

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui minat baca sastra mahasiswa S-1 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Bengkulu Tahun Pelajaran 2016. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini mahasiswa S-1 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Bengkulu Tahun Pelajaran 2016 dari Prodi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia berjumlah 318 orang. Sedangkan sampel penelitian ini menggunakan teknik random sampling sebanyak 80 mahasiswa semester 5A dan 5B. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Minat baca sastra mahasiswa S-1 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Bengkulu Tahun Pelajaran 2016 akan dinilai dari empat aspek, yaitu perasaan ingin tahu mahasiswa, perhatian mahasiswa, keterlibatan mahasiswa, dan ketertarikan mahasisw. Teknik analisi data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu, tahap persiapan, tahap pelaksanaan, dan tahap pelaporan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa minat baca sastra mahasiswa S-1 Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia FKIP Universitas Bengkulu Tahun Pelajaran 2016 masih kurang (rendah). Adapun hasil dilihat dari keempat aspek, berdasarkan aspek perasaan ingin tahu mahasiswa diperoleh rata-rata 1,45 (kategori tidak baik), aspek perhatian mahasiswa diperoleh rata-rata 1,05 (kategori tidak baik), aspek keterlibatan mahasiswa diperoleh rata-rata 1,65 (kategori tidak baik), dan aspek ketertarikan mahasiswa diperoleh rata-rata 0,65 (kategori tidak baik). Berdasarkan hasil angket yang telah disebarkan (berjumlah 50) maka dari rata-rata angket menunjukan 1,8 (kategori kurang baik) menyatakan bahwa minat baca sastra mahasiswa dikategorikan masih kurang. Berdasarkan wawancara yang telah penulis lakukan, terdapat beberapa jawaban dari mahasiswa yang menyatakan bahwa minat baca sastra mahasiswa masih kurang. Hal ini diperoleh dari jawaban responden yang menyatakan kadang-kadang membaca karya sastra.Kata Kunci: Minat baca sastra, mahasiswa.
