Pengaruh Laju Irigasi Serta Dosis Bahan Pengkondisi Tanah terhadap Tingkat Penahanan Lengas Tanah dan Produksi Tanaman Pangan dan Hortikultura pada Tanah Pasir

Abstract

Utilization of coastal plain area for farming are scarce due to the problems faced in the development of those lands such as low fertility, high percolation as well as evaporation rate. Temperature ranges from 40-60°C. In order to increase the utilization of the land, an attempt was done to study the effects of number of manure and irrigation rate on  the yields and soil water extraction of maize, groundnut, tomato and chilly pepper in sandy soil. A series of experiment was conducted from April to December 200I using completely randomized design. The treatments included 4 rates of manure i.e. 10, 15,20 and 25 MT/ha and 4 rates of irrigation I.e. 0.6 I/day, 0.9 I/day, 1.21/day and 1.5 I/day. The result of the experiment showed that the favourable condition to keep moisture content in sandy soil at field capacity and flushing of heat in the soil was achieved at irrigation rate of 1.2 I/day except for tomato which obtained the highest water extraction at irrigation rate of 0.9 I/day. Soil water extraction decreased between 0.15 to 0.55% when irrigation rate were reduced from 1.2 I/day to 0.9 I/day and 0.6 I/day on: maize, groundnut and chilly pepper. The highest yield was obtained at fertilization rate of 20 MT/ha except for maize which obtained the highest yield at fertilization rate of I0  MT/ha. Abstract

Cheesestick terong menjadi suatu inovasi dalam pengolahan agroindustri untuk meningkatkan pendapatan masyarakat di desa Genteng kecamatan Sukasari Kabupaten Sumedang. Karena adanya rantai dalam produksi menimbulkan adanya ketergantungan dan kurangnya keterlibatan dalam aktivitas rantai tersebut, hal tersebut berdampak terhadap ketidakpastian pendapatan yang diperoleh. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi rantai nilai pengolahan terong dari petani ke IAAS, mengetahui laba dari masing-masing pelaku berdasarkan keterlibatan dan ketergantungan antar pelaku dalam rantai nilai, mengetahui besarnya keuntungan pengolahan terong tersebut dan kontribusinya terhadap pendapatan anggota Kelompok Wanita Tani (KWT) Mentari dan memberikan strategi penguatan produksi cheesestick terong di desa Genteng. Analisis data terdiri dari analisis rantai nilai, analisis nilai tambah, analisis usaha, dan analis kontribusi pendapatan. Hasil penelitian terdapat tiga aktor pelaku dalam rantai nilai cheesestick terong yaitu petani, KWT Mentari, dan IAAS. Pelaku KWT Mentari adalah pelaku yang mendapatkan nilai tambah tertinggi yaitu Rp 43.200/Kg dan pelaku yang mendapat nilai tambah terendah adalah IAAS yaitu Rp 2.370/Kg.

Abstract

The soil of coastal plain is characterized by sandy soil texture, salinity problem, low water capacity, high oercolation rate and high soil temperature during day time. Due to those constraints, therefore much water is needed to be favorable to plant growth. Objective of the research is dealing with the application of numberical method to simulate heat and mass flow of water which is affected by soil moisture availability. A core of soil sample with size 50 cm x 50 cm x50 cm is used as a physical model. The research has been schedule from 1997 to 1998. Under high initial moisture content the simulation shows that there is similarity between predicted and observed value of soil moisture content with the correlation value more that 90% (t-test value 95%). However, the simulation is under estimate for low initial moisture content and high temperature. For the model applications, the factors which influence on moisture movement in the soil was collected and rearranged in exponential equation: θv =  103,469. Qirr 0.015. T 0.061. t 0.235. x -0.161. z -2.842. From the model found that to keep soil moisture content in favorable condition (θv = 0,1 cm3/cm3), the discharge design of drip irrigation needed was 3.2 cm3/sec with 2 hours duration of irrigation. The discharge designed based on water needed for evaporation and heat flushing so that moisture in the root zone was maintained.

Abstract

Jewawut (Foxtail Millet) merupakan sumber karbohidrat, mempunyai aktivitas antioksidan, kaya kandungan vitamin dan mineral, serta memiliki kandungan serat pangan yang tinggi. Pengolahan jewawut dalam bentuk tepung lebih memudahkan dalam aplikasi serta memiliki daya simpan yang lebih lama. Proses perendaman dalam pembuatan tepung dilaporkan dapat memperbaiki karakteristik tepung jewawut. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh lama perendaman terhadap karakteristik fisik, kimia dan organoleptik tepung jewawut. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan 6 perlakuan (perendaman 0 jam, 1 jam, 2 jam, 3 jam, 4 jam dan 5 jam) dan diulang 4 kali. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa semakin lama perendaman menurunkan kadar air, kadar abu, pH, dan densitas kamba sedangkan rendemen dan kadar asam lemak bebas meningkat. Perendaman menyebabkan berkurangnya kekerasan biji sehingga rendemen meningkat,tekstur tepung yang dihasilkan lebih halus serta kadar air menurun. Tepung dengan lama perendaman 4 jam menghasilkan karakteristik fisik, kimia dan organoleptik yang terbaik dengan nilai rendemen 99,94%; densitas kamba 0,61 g/ml; pH 6,65; kadar air 6,23%; kadar abu 1,46% dan ALB 1,152%. Hasil analisis awal menunjukkan tepung jewawut memiliki kadar serat pangan yang tinggi yaitu 8,21% dan kandungan amilosa yang rendah 6,96%-9,29 (sehingga bersifat lengket, dan tingkat pengembangan rendah). Tepung jewawut dengan karakteristik fisikokimia yang terbaik diharapkan dapat diaplikasikan dalam berbagai produk olahan, sehingga dapat mengurangi konsumsi terigu.

Abstract

The utilization of shallow groundwater well to support cropping pattern in dry land area should be directed to increase land and water productivities through proper irrigation management and effective operation of groundwater irrigation pump. By the concept that a certain plant needs a certain amount of transpired water through its leaves to produce 1 kg dry product during its production cycle, an attempt is done to determine technical and economic aspects of the groundwater irrigation system to utilize water and energy efficiently by improving the conjunctive use of rainfall and groundwater irrigation in dry land area. A set of centrifugal pump (ɸ 2") was used to lift water from the shallow groundwater well at total head of 22 m (Suction head = 12 m and delivery head = 10 m) and was used to irrigate maize, peanut and onion crops. The result obtained indicateds that the introduced technology is suitable to be applied at farm level. In order to reduce operational cost of pump, simulation was done to determine the most appropriate planting achedule using computer simulation model. By taking planting schedule back approximately 2 weeks reducing annual irrigation requirement of 500 to 600 m3/ha and reduce annual operation pump of 66.5 hour/ha/year. Advanced analysis using economic feasibility analysis indicates technology introduced suitable to applied with B/C ratio = 1.25 (maize), 1,83 (peanut) and 2,36 (onion).

Abstract

One type of functional maize that is currently studied and developed at Indonesian Cereals Research Institute is rich beta carotene maize (Pro vitamin A maize). This study aims to study the bioinformatics aspect of beta carotene maize as a basis in the determination of appropriate crossing combinations in generating pro vitamin A maize. Genetic studies used 15 high vitamin A maize inbreeds originating from within and outside the country (Cimmyt Mexico introduction). The study was conducted from April to July 2015 at the Molecular Biology Laboratory of Indonesian Cereals Research Institute. Preparation and DNA scoring were performed by using NTSYS-pc 2.1 version for generating dendogram/ data clustering. The results showed that the genetic diversity analysis based on UPGMA against genetic similarity matrix in the form of a dendogram of genetic similarity coefficient values obtained ranged from 0.36 to 0.91. The result of genetic diversity clustering of 15 inbreeds of Pro vitamin A maize in genetic similarity of 0.44 is divided into four groups: groups I, II, III and IV. Dendrogram shows groups I and II at the GD level of 0.44. Group III is at the level of GD 0.45 and divided into two sub groups namely A1 and A2. Group IV is at GD 0.503 level divided into four sub groups namely B1, B2, B3 and B4. The genetic clustering of inbreds tested indicated that the variability of the material characterized was relatively high and enables inbreds recombination in developing new varieties.
