Abstract

PT. XYZ bergerak dalam bidang industri pengolahan karet dengan bahan bakuberupa getah pohon karet dan menghasilkan bahan setengah jadi yaitu crumb rubber.Kenyataan di lapangan masih ditemukan banyak produk cacat hingga bisa mencapaiangka 20% pada akhir proses produksi. Ini mengakibatkan perusahaan mengalamikerugiaan. Oleh karena itu perlu dilakukan penelitian untuk menganalisis faktor-faktordominan penyebab kecacatan produk crumb rubber SIR 20 dengan menggunakan metodeDMAIC (define, measure, analyze, improve and control) Six Sigma. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan faktor dominan penyebab kecacatan adalah faktor kadar PRI. Dari hasilFMEA (Failure Mode and Effect Analysis) didapat penyebab kecacatan bahan bakuberkualitas rendah adalah karena banyak mengandung kotoran (remah kayu, tanah danlainnya), proses pencucian kurang bersih karena menggunakan air yang kotor serta prosespenjemuran dan pengeringan kurang baik dengan waktu yang relatif cepat (kurang dari 7hari). Usulan perbaikan untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang ada pada lantai produksiadalah melakukan seleksi bahan baku yang ketat dengan memperhatikan tingkat kotoranyang terkandung pada bahan baku, melakukan pencucian dengan menggunakan air yangbersih, melakukan proses penjemuran yang sempurna yaitu selama 7 sampai 12 hari, danpemeriksaan secara berkala pada mesin. Kesadaran dan peningkatan komitmen pekerjauntuk melaksanakan tugas dengan sebaik–baiknya merupakan tindakan mendasar yangharus dibangun.

Abstract

Proses sortasi tandan buah segar (TBS) di loading ramp dilakukan oleh operator laki-laki berupa kegiatan menurunkan TBS dari truk, mensortir TBS dan menaikkan TBS mentah ataupun busuk ke truk dengan berat TBS berkisar 20 kg hingga 25 kg dengan menggunakan tojok.  Tojok merupakan sebatang besi berujung tajam dengan pegangan berbentuk T sepanjang 85 cm, diameter batang 2,5 cm dan lebar pegangan 15 cm. Desain tojok aktual menyebabkan operator sortasi memiliki postur tubuh bungkuk,  leher  tunduk, dan lutut tertekuk secara berulang-ulang selama satu hari. Operator mengeluhkan rasa sakit pada otot (MSDs) terutama pada pinggang, lengan atas kanan, punggung, lengan bawah kanan, tangan kanan, dan betis kanan. Keluhan MSDs yang dialami operator semakin meningkat sebanding dengan jumlah truk yang harus dibongkar TBS nya dalam sehari. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi lapangan dan wawancara dengan kuesioner terhadap operator sortasi sejumlah 8 orang. Penyebaran kuesioner terbuka untuk memperoleh atribut tojok diberikan kepada 30 orang responden. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah tojok  terbuat dari bahan stainless steel, mata tojok terbuat dari besi AS, pegangan berbentuk segitiga, pembatas batang tojok dengan mata tojok berjarak 10 cm dan pegangan  tambahan berjarak 30 cm dari handle. Panjang tojok 97,1 cm, lebar pegangan tojok 11 cm dan diameter batang tojok 2,77 cm. TBS Sorting process in loading ramp, done by male operators,  is the act of bringing down the TBS from the truck, sorting TBS and bringing the raw or rotten TBS back into the truck and the TBS weigh around 20 kg to 25 kg using tojok. Tojok is a steel bar with a sharp end and a handle forming T-shape at the other end that. The dimension is 85 cm long, 2.5 cm in diameter, and 15 cm for handle width. The actual tojok design make the operators to bent their back, flex their kness, and bowed their head for multiple times in a day. Operators are complaining about pain in their muscles (MSDs), especialy in waist, upper arm, back, lower right arm, and right calf. The MSDs pain felt by operators increase as they discharged more TBS from the truck throughout the day. The method used in finding this information is field observation and interview with 8 operators. The result is that tojok is made of stainless steel, its sharp end is made of AS steel, its handle’s shape is triangle, the length from its sharp end to its bar border is 10 cm, and the distance from the handle to another extra handle is 30 cm. The tojok length is 97.1 cm, its handle width is 11 cm, and the diameter is 2.77 cm Keywords:  design; ergonomics; sorting; tojok; TBS

Abstract

Marine fisheries sector is a source of community livelihood in the coastal area. Hajoran village in Tapanuli Tengah district is a coastal area with great potential in fishery sector, especially marine fishery. Fisherman Hajoran uses a rectangular bamboo arrangement measuring 10m x 10m which is plugged in the middle of the waters to catch fish. Some of the fish are sold in fresh condition while others are salted. The salted fish only sold the body parts while the salted fish head will be chopped into smaller pieces by the artisans. The process of enumeration is done using a machete with a work posture sitting bent, bent knees and bent legs. Crafters complain of pain on the wrist, shoulders, waist, buttocks and knees so difficult to be able to stand up after the enumeration process is complete. Fish replicating craftsmen provide input in the form of SNQ questionnaires to analyze their grievances over the years. The activity takes a long time, the quality of fish count is not uniform, low production capacity and cause pain in the limbs. Community service activity is aimed at increasing the productivity of shrimp fish craftsman. The effort is accompaniment by the ergonomics team, the giving of lecture materials, the training of ergonomic work facility and the improvement of working method so that the active participation of crafters is needed. Utilization of mechanical fish counter is a solution to increase the productivity of fish crackers. The resulting fish yields will have an adjustable subtlety, good quality, short time and ergonomic design. Improvement of work methods performed by the team of devotion causes the crafters to work more comfortable resulting in increased productivity.

Abstract

Sektor perikanan laut merupakan sumber mata pencaharian masyarakat di kawasan pesisir pantai. Desa Hajoran di Kabupaten Tapanuli Tengah merupakan daerah pesisir pantai dengan potensi besar di sektor perikanan khususnya perikanan laut. Nelayan Hajoran menggunakan susunan bambu berbentuk segi empat berukuran 10m x 10m yang ditancapkan di tengah perairan untuk menangkap ikan. Ikan hasil tangkapan sebagian dijual dalam kondisi segar sedangkan sebagian lainnya diasinkan. Ikan yang telah diasinkan hanya dijual bagian badannya sedangkan bagian kepala ikan asin akan dicacah menjadi lebih kecil oleh perajin. Proses pencacahan dilakukan menggunakan parang dengan postur kerja duduk membungkuk, lutut terlipat dan telapak kaki tertekuk. Perajin mengeluhkan sakit pada pergelangan tangan, bahu, pinggang, pantat dan lutut sehingga kesulitan untuk dapat segera berdiri setelah proses pencacahan selesai. Perajin cacahan ikan memberikan masukan dalam bentuk kuesioner SNQ untuk menganalisa keluhan mereka selama ini. Kegiatan tersebut membutuhkan waktu yang lama, kualitas cacahan ikan yang tidak seragam, kapasitas produksi yang rendah serta menimbulkan rasa sakit pada anggota tubuh.Kegiatan pengadian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas perajin cacahan ikan. Upaya yang dilakukan adalah pendampingan oleh tim ergonomi, pemberian materi berupa ceramah, pelatihan penggunaan fasilitas kerja ergonomis dan penyempurnaan metode kerja sehingga dibutuhkan partisipasi aktif perajin. Pemanfaatan alat pencacah ikan mekanis merupakan solusi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas perajin cacahan ikan. Cacahan ikan yang dihasilkan akan memiliki kehalusan yang dapat diatur, kualitas yang terjaga, waktu yang singkat serta  disain yang ergonomis. Perbaikan metode kerja yang dilakukan tim pengabdian menyebabkan perajin dapat bekerja lebih nyaman sehingga terjadi peningkatan produktivitas.

Abstract

Abstract Fiber brush production is entirely conducted manually by workers with the help of a very simple tool. Workers complain of experiencing pain in some parts of the body when working using sitting and standing postures. This study will evaluate the causes of pain complaints in workers who engage in fiber-binding and fiber-cutting activities. Pain complaints data are obtained from the Standard Nordic Questionnaire (SNQ) and work posture is assessed using the RULA and REBA methods. The assessment result shows that work method with unbalanced limb loadings induces pain complaints on workers. The choice between standing and sitting work posture is based on workload received by workers. Therefore, it is proposed to provide ergonomic work facilities in order to minimize the loading received by workers. Keywords : fiber brush, pain complaints, ergonomic work facilities, work posture.

Abstract

The lack of participation in learning Social subject of the sixth grade students at SDN 27 Lubuk Alung gave effect on their low learning achievement. This research was aimed to improve the participation in learning and learning achievement of the sixth grade students at SDN 27 Lubuk Alung by implementing the Guided Teaching learning model. Kind of participations concerned with are participation in proposing ideas, participation in answering the teachers’ questions, and participation in asking questions to teacher. Data of research were obtained through observation and post test and were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. In cycle I, percentage of students’ participation in proposing ideas is 34,37% and becomes 78,12% in cycle II. Percentage of students’ participation in answering teachers’ questions is 37,49% in cycle I and becomes 81,25% in cycle II. Percentage of students’ participation in asking questions to teacher is 26,16% in cycle I and becomes 75% in cycle II. In cycle I, percentage of students’ learning achievement is 46,87℅ and becomes 87,5℅ in cycle II. The result shows that implementation of Guided Teaching model can improve participation in learning and learning achievement.

The activeness, critical, and creative thinking skills of students in the Lesson Study-based inquiry and cooperative learning

Abstract

The implementation of innovative learning and lesson study (LS) are potential to improve student thinking skills and activeness differently and mostly implemented separately. This study aimed to explore and compare the student critical and creative thinking skills as well as student activeness in the inquiry and cooperative models combined with LS-based learning practice. This was a descriptive quantitative study that was conducted at Islamic Senior High School 1 of Bengkulu.  The sample was two classes consisted of 33 and 32 students each that conducted LS-inquiry and LS-cooperative learning. The essay test delivered to measure critical and creative thinking skills and observation sheet to measure student activeness. The data were analyzed by t-test to compare critical and creative thinking skills as well as the student activeness between the LS-inquiry and LS-cooperative classes. The result showed that LS-inquiry learning improved the student critical and creative thinking skills that significantly higher than LS-cooperative learning. The student activeness improved gradually as LS cycles during learning processes in either inquiry or cooperative learning, but no significant difference between these two learning models. It showed that inquiry learning plays a dominant influence in critical and creative thinking skills improvement, whereas LS in student activeness improvement otherwise.
